To be honest I doubt this will ever see the light of day - if you look at the history of this thread, Gnosis cannot devote full time efforts, and even called out for donations so that he could for a small period of time. My main concern as an investor is if this is ever released and there will be bugs, Gnosis might not be around to fix it..... If I may, I'd like to make some suggestions to the ANC team...
Before the move to zANC I think it would be wise to fix the KGW issue; I don't think K1773R wants to spend his life mining 100k tx when the volume of transactions goes up. It doesn't need to come with the myriad if this is holding ANC back; these could be sequenced.
@ meeh it'd be nice to get an idea of when the fix will be made.
@ Gnosis it seems like a heavy schedule during the 1 week assumed to deliver the zANC testnet... Personally I don't like to get news of delays 1 day before a deadline - it's much better to assume things take 2X or even 3X longer when setting a deadline and deliver ahead of schedule (if things are ready); this fuels much more positive cycles. I know that this is complex and difficult to plan, it's only a matter of managing expectations from the community.

Speaking of lack of liquidity, one of the major things that inspired the creation of the Blocknet is that we perceived a need to create an entire ecosystem for XCurrency.
Real usage has to start somewhere. It'll start on the Blocknet, and as we approach our official public launch we expect it to become more and more of a real-world thing.
Is Blocknet to be released before rev3 - official release? A little clarification with the timeline would be great Synechist. Where does the XC Inc ITO, Blocknet ITO/release figure with XC rev 3 release? Thanks in advance! It should be the Blocknet, Rev 3, and then the XC Inc ITO. However the order of the latter are fairly likely to be reversed so that we can launch with handy things like in-app fiat purchases and investment capital for marketing. I would have estimated that Blocknet would be a longterm project? - i.e over a year....a decentralized exchange, plus all the other massive components isnt something you code over a month or two. Look at openbazaar....thats just one piece probably as big as a decentralized exchange. |

I have to say, I am really concerned about people not being able to even transfer coins from one wallet to the other. When is this going to get fixed? Who cares about Zerocoin if you can't even make a transaction.

I don't understand this. If he was trying to dump a lot of coins, why would he want people to pull their buy walls ? Wouldn't he need the liquidity to dump into ? I think he means put up buy walls. Remember that Mintpal had 430,000 DRK in wallets that went missing from the top of the largest wallets on cryptoID as soon as Mintpal V1 was taken offline. So Green spent 2 weeks bullshitting people on Twitter as to why they're balances were zero, couldn't login / withdraw, whilst starting trying to sell DRK. He didn't have much time because he was planning to liquidate Mintpal which he has now said he is doing because people have exposed him. So if you had 430k drk to sell what's the best way to fill up the buy book? Yup - come here and tell people you are going to dump for some dumb ass reason - everyone here is looking for cheap DRK, so voila, you create the demand by telling people you are going to dump and you don't care about the price. Most likely stolen. Just check out the behavior. Always moving the stash to a new address and slowly draining to exchanges and fresh addresses. It looks scripted to run 24/7. We need to do some better marketing  They were obviously time bound and needed to liquidate their DRK as quickly as possible - you can see by how cheap they were willing to dump. At this stage it would take a long time to anonymize 260k+ DRK as there arent that many people denominating on mainnet yet. |

a) why many people have "missing accounts" that they cannot login to, most likely DRK holders.
b) the panic sell of DRK on exchanges this morning

Correct. However, I'm going to change it to the first payment requiring confirmations > masternodes*90%. So if there's 1000 masternodes a new node will have to wait 900 confirmations to be entered into the lottery. Then after that it'll be 1 of N. All future payments beyond that will be on a schedule with -10/+10% variance.
Confirmations to start a masternode will be 15. You just can't get paid until much later. It should provide a good mix of security and stability of payments.

Wow, some pool/miner can be getting really rich right now, with that trick. Crypto is a weird world. Same guys are raping ANC since weeks. They are creating thousands ANC in some hours but devs don't care. Welcome to Anoncoin! Wow does not look good at all.... its fine, there will be a hard fork with both a better difficulty algorithm, and multiple hashing algorithms (like myriad) I believe Unfortunately I think this is a while away....not something you can just flick a switch on....development needs to occur and I think the dev team is focusing on zerocoin stuff rather than the foundational aspects of the coin  |

Seriously. What are you trying to say? Kristov did a code review. He highlighted some issues, he pointed them out and Evan fixed the vast majority. This guy found something Kristov missed. He tried to exploit it, but the whole thing can be seen on the network. Within a relatively short period of time, he was spotted. 24hrs later a patch is applied around the network. He has identified one exploit. It was closed. It won't be exploited again. It could also highlight other areas that are related that could be worked on. The guy said he was going to donate his winnings. The project is stronger than it was two days ago. This is a small win. +1 and I would say there is one more pro code reviewer now - the "hacker" - and that's really nice because the more attention of such guys we get earlier the faster we get stronger and the more stable/resistant DRK code/architecture will be And yes, he got his 200+ DRK "bounty" for his work which is fine for me Exactly, not sure what the trolls are is bitching about this time.....this guy said he spent like 8 hours reviewing the code...and that only cost us a few hundred dark to fix the exploit and make the coin stronger. We raised over 1000 DRK for the kristov review... I actually hope he spends a bit more time reviewing as he said - if nothing else happens and or he does collaborate with Evan consider the coin to be the strongest its ever been. and Shojayxt - have you ever been professionally diagnosed?? - the level you exert yourself to trolling dark is psychotic. Been reading through this thread and interested in Anoncoin, apologies if it has been answered before.
I have seen that Zerocoin has an issue with its proof/transaction sizes which will cause significant blockchain bloat. This would cause scalability/adoption issues in the future.
Has Anoncoin done anything to rectify this issue?

Can we just switch the exchange from mintpal to bitfinex? Lets create there more volume and get some pro exchanges which at least do the annuncement before closing exchange for some days....
I am, picking up a couple of extra nodes from Finex this arvo... Let's all move over... I'm picking up another 1500 coins in the next week to get me another 2 masternodes. Will get them from finex as we'll. I don't trust mintpal anymore. |
