It would be useful if I could copy/paste the "chatbox : userX sent you Y BTC" message and have it include their userid so I could easily pay them back later. The chatbox line only tells me their name, and the tip command only accepts their number...

Firstly, it's annoying that I have to copy/paste the funny R-with-a-line-through-it sign and can't just type a regular R to identify the currency.

And secondly it's annoying that the "chatbot" message that told me he had tipped me put a "4" in the line but not his userid, and so I ended up sending the 30k (+1%) to user 4 by mistake. The 4 is supermeatboy's level, not his userid. It would be clearer if the chatbot message showed the tipping user's userid as well as his level.

Would it be possible to give the 30.3k to supermeatboy instead of user 4 please?

I finally got around to playing on bitdice.me.

Overall the experience was good. The bets are nice and fast, and the keyboard shortcuts work well (once you've figure out that you have to click outside the stake box).

I figured I may as well continue listing what little I didn't think was perfect, so here goes:


When I went to withdraw my balance, it wasn't clear whether I was meant to type the amount I wanted including the tx fee or not. And it wasn't stated that the fee would be 0.0002 either.

Then it told me "Funds have been sent: WILL BE PROCESSED FROM COLD WALLET" which is confusing. They haven't been sent yet if they "will be" sent later.

I couldn't find a link to this thread on the website, but maybe I didn't look in the right place.

One weird thing that happened: I visited the site for the first time in a few days, clicked my username to see my user seed, and it showed as "the site made me do it", which is the first thing I tried setting it to a few days ago, but which wasn't accepted. I ended up setting it to the same but without spaces.

So I edited it, set it to something else, then reloaded the page, and it was back as the original value with spaces. It's like my browser is caching the value or something. I placed a bet and it used the new value, but the dialog still showed the old one.

When I did a "/rain 0.1" there was little to no feedback about what had happened. The chat people tell me that rain goes out once an hour if it's over a certain threshold, at xx:35 maybe. It would be nice if the /rain command told me (and probably only me) that.

The "levels" thing is an interesting feature. I was level 6, and would have stopped if it wasn't for the fact that I was close to reaching level 7. Offering goals like reaching the next level seems to spur me (and presumably others) on to gamble more.

Edit2: it would be nice if there was an option to cancel a pending withdrawal. My first choice: withdraw coins. My second choice: keep playing. My last choice: have my coins in limbo overnight while Alex sleeps.

Now that you are getting more users you really need /ignore or a crew of moderators who will provide some coverage.

The betting is really pretty quick (I have a ping time of around 700 ms to everywhere since I use satellite internet, so quick is a relative term for me) and easy using the keyboard shortcuts provided. I was confused at first as to why X and C weren't changing my stake, but it's because I had the stake input box focussed. You have to click outside of it for the shortcuts to work. That could be improved. If I saw the X's and C's appearing in the stake field, I would have instantly realised what was going on, but they're being filtered, so nothing at all appears to happen when I press X or C.

The top line of the screen, where it says "BETS: 1,148,258 WAGERED: 25,333.47472" keeps jumping around in a distracting way. The problem is that occasionally the wagered amount ends with a zero, which isn't shown and so the whole line gets shorter. It's right-aligned, and so the whole line shifts to the right for a second until the wagered amount stops ending with a zero. Left aligning it, or formatting the wagered amount to always show 5 decimal places even if it ends with a zero would fix that.

I see a similar distraction with the 'site profit' field, where the bitcoin symbol moves to the left whenever the profit ends with a zero.

The 'deposit' button seems to have changed colour. I don't remember it being so hard to read before:



I see my deposit transaction has confirmed - could it be trying to tell me that? I've no idea. Maybe it's just a glitch.

So the first thing I notice is that I can't find any information on the site about the provable fairness. I don't see a FAQ link, and clicking 'verify' just asks me for a bunch of info I don't have, since I didn't even make an account yet.

Then I noticed there's a 'help' link, with "Each bet is provably fair and we show you how to check it" - but none of that is linked to further information. I'll keep looking.

OK, so further down the help text there's a section "How is it provably fair?"

I don't like the idea of daily secrets. It means I have to wait up to 24 hours to verify my bets.

I'm a little worried about "bet number". Is that a system-wide betid? If so, that's not provably fair. Maybe it's a personal bet counter (my first bet is 1, my 2nd bet is 2, etc.) in which case that's fine. It would be good if that text was less ambiguous.

Looking at the code at the end, I see it uses the userid in the hash, which I guess is only needed if the bet number is per-user, not global.

Maybe mention that the code is Ruby (if it is?) to give people a hint as to how to run it.

The help text mentions "user seed". The script mentions "client seed". I don't see any mention of how to set that value. I presume they're the same thing, so you should decide what to call it.

I see you're using a simple sha512 to generate the rolls rather than the more standard practice of using hmac. Any reason for this?

So I went to create an account, but couldn't see how to. It appears one was automatically created for me and I just need to set the username. And now I see how to set the user/client seed too.

Trying to set up 2FA, I'm given a QR code, but not the secret string. I like to make a note on paper of the secret string as a way of backing up my 2FA codes in case I lose my 2FA device. Since I can't back it up, I decide not to enable 2FA now. I click the 'x' in the 2FA dialog and the whole password-setting thing disappears too. Did I lose my username and password setting too? I open it up again, and my username and password are in there, so I hope the password is still what I typed. I click 'update' and it tells me "Can be only a-z and 0-9". But it doesn't tell me WHAT Can be only a-z and 0-9. I'm guessing it's the user seed, since I tried setting it to a sentence. Why can't I have spaces in my client seed? And if I can't, why not tell me I can't when I edit the field, or before I edit it. I remove the spaces and it lets me update. I sign out and in again to make sure I have the password right. I do.

So I went to the chat, looking for rain (of course)... It's apparently only available to players who have bet already. That seems kind of backwards - I would expect freebies to be given to new players to get them started, but whatever. Maybe rain is different than faucets. Apparently there's been some other 'dooglus' in the chat pretending to be me. I guess I'll deposit and play a little.
