This should definitely be refunded as it is a bug in the software, at least partially.

Seems immoral to me the very idea of you selling primedice.info

No I made a good offer Wink

Weird.  I was the last and highest offer ITT.  This is shady.

Its not very shady, they made a deal in private.

I'm not sure at what point this would be shady, they've not asked you for money have they?
527  Economy / Speculation / Re: we are almost mid 2014 - catalysts for rest of year? on: May 13, 2014, 09:51:58 PM
UK being properly connected to the bitcoin economy, along with merchant payment systems.

528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Third party retailer for exchanges on: May 13, 2014, 08:28:51 PM
When "exchanges" or places where you can buy bitcoins for fiat currency actually make that trade - where are the bitcoins coming from? From what I understand many exchanges use a third party retailer to supply the bitcoins to the end-customer, meaning that companies such as Coinbase, Safello, bitstamp and so on buy their bitcoins from another company which then is traded for fiat.

Is that normally how the setup is like?

Who are these third party bitcoin retailers? Does anybody know?
Two parter:

The exchanges like Bitstamp have users which want to sell, and users that want to buy. The ones who want to buy, buy from those who want to sell.

Coinbase buy theirs on various exchanges, like Bitstamp to sell on their platform.

I have 8 orders (shows as 16 line items) showing in counterwallet. There should only one. First 7 were from Firefox which showed no confirmation when order was placed, 8th was from Chrome, which showed a popup window for confirmation when the order was placed. Will the first order fill and the rest just go away? Using pop-ups for confirmation is a REALLY bad idea - should go to a confirmation page instead. Is there a way to cancel the extra orders?

I'm also showing a lower BTC balance, 1.8583 instead of the 2.02 BTC I started with - has it been eaten away by all these orders? Does this mean all of 8 orders will fail because the BTC balance is no longer at 2? When I placed the order, it said the total cost was 2.02 BTC, now I'm down to 1.8583 BTC with no order filled.

Considering you were ordering my asset I'll answer this for you:

Each transaction takes a BTC fee. That is 0.02, hence the lower balance.

They will expire and you will get that back in a couple more blocks, which is a pain for both of us but you can re-do it.

Best,

William Dunne

Oh well. Never mind. Lots to learn from this failure to launch. Go back to square one. Learn to learn.
Not failed, we're not trying to launch for another two months. We have two months to raise that money.

We have all of the banking sorted, and progress has started on the software side of things.

EDIT: Actually thats a lie, we currently only have a wire transfer partner for EURO. We would like a SEPA partner too.

There are bank accounts in the Isle of Man that are classed as UK banks yet there are no Bitcoin Exchange rules. They are fair game as much as they care, look in to that.

I am well aware, however all of the banks are basically owned by Lloyds so its no easier than opening an account with Lloyds. Regardless our UK bank is already sorted, and there are no rules in the entirety of the UK.

Yeah, there are no rules anywhere technically, but banks do not like Bitcoin. Look how fast Intersango was fucked. Are they even still around? I remember they went private but I just decided to leave them then.

I just mean an Isle of Man account aren't going to decide to give you a hard time out of nowhere. Llyods may own them but if you contact them they'll basically tell you, you are just like any other business while if you try that with Barclays/Natwest you're not getting such a hassle free time but if you have it sorted then great. Just be careful with them if you start becoming a huge volume exchange

RBS Isle of Man if you ever need a back up plan
Functionally speaking Isle of Man operates as Lloyds, you get through to the same customer support people etc.

As for volume, thats not a concern for two reasons. The first being the bank know what we're doing, and now know the rules. The second being if our volume gets high enough, we have another bank that will take us based on the volume. (Assuming we have at least £1m in the account at all times).

That should be doable, especially as we could include other currencies and as bitcoin grows, the fiat balance grows too.

(Yes, I know Lloyds don't own the only IoM bank. However we have spoken to the others and they have the same policy.

I should also mention BitSpeculate is much, much better than Kraken.

Many Kraken traders complain they cannot get their money out. For example:
https://www.bitcoinforum.com/bitcoin-discussion/kraken-6-months-and-still-cannot-get-my-money/

Kraken will deny your documents and verification then hold your money indefinitely.  Kraken is another overfunded, poorly-run, over-compliant company that is simply not in the spirit of decentralized currency.

BitSpeculate will NEVER demand compliance documents.  Withdrawals are processed within a few hours.  It is as easy as logging in and then placing a trade.  Even a beginning Bitcoiner or trader can do it.

https://BitSpeculate.com

That doesn't help much when its coming for your mouth. I would suggest having someone other than the owner vouching for it.

I may be interested in those 2400 shares.

PM me, I have an extensive marketing/sales background and I'm from the UK myself and may make a larger investment if you can offer me a role in the team. I have several marketing and branding things set up that were meant for Coinpal but they dont have an exchange, that's fairly obvious. There were 2 places available at fairly large conferences that would get you a fair amount of business/publicity as well as a few people who agreed to do some affiliate work (one will be even more keen seeing as he is in the UK as well). There is 1 conference position left I can probably secure you, if you can get this ready in time.

PM me if you want to talk about it, I need to know a little more about the business. I basically just planned out a whole marketing/branding and launch for an exchange, but they have no exchange and are ultimately scammers, if you provide proof and such to me - I will do the same for you - I reckon if you can offer me a part of the business, you will be a whole step closer to launching this.

Two designers, two designs. Who do we hire?

Please use poll at the top.

Is that really the most important thing at this stage?

At no point did I insinuate that it is the most important thing. However it is still something that I wanted input on, and it was the only thing that anyone here could help with.

Interesting read, thank you for this, Lost Dutchman.
536  Economy / Securities / Re: Looking for investment of ~$1.25M USD for music festival, return = ~$85M USD on: May 11, 2014, 10:12:38 PM

While I can see a lot of hyperbole in this thread, such as the return he is looking to provide I feel it is unfair for you to judge it without reading his documents.

That being said, the length of the document has very little relevance as to the quality of the business/its leaders.

Thank you, this is all I have been trying to say.

You're definitely right though, this particular 40 page document isn't a 5 year olds story as NotLambChop implied, but a very well strategized and presented business plan.

I wish more people on this forum would realize the logic in your point on judging. :/

I'm not personally able to comment on the quality of your business plan however your presentation on here has not been the most professional. I would advise against the use of smiley/un-smiley faces. Also more transparency is needed, such as proof of ownership, proof of identity and you also need to get listed on an exchange like Havelock or CounterParty.
537  Economy / Securities / Re: Looking for investment of ~$1.25M USD for music festival, return = ~$85M USD on: May 11, 2014, 10:04:20 PM
Bump so no one falls for this trash (he is trying to re-submit this garbage)

who are you? have you read his 40 page document?

Typing up 40 pages is a big accomplishment for a five-year-old.  Anyone older?  Not so much.
(And who are *you*, btw?)

That sounds like a good idea! I'll give him a call this evening and organise it Smiley
Please ensure you do.

If that is the case, you may well see some activity.
539  Economy / Securities / Re: Cryptovest Financial Services (CVFS) Stock IPO 0.5-4% dividends p/m on: May 11, 2014, 08:51:01 PM
Grin

They sent me an email saying that they will invest in us. And we should Invest in you.

So i guess it might be good to meet up in a few weeks and see if there are any synergies.

Kr,

Malcolm O

That response works well for me. I am more than happy to meet up with you. Thursdays or Fridays are best for me.

However in a few weeks we could not be seeking any more investment (thats not definite, but we might not).

Best,

William Dunne

Design 1 looks better
The overwhelming majority agrees with you. Unless there is a sudden change in decision, that is the designer we will go with.

Of course, that is not the finished image, I think there is something that can be learned from each of them however I do agree.

Anyway to invest in the IPO using the XCP command line interface? If so, how?
I believe so, however I am not aware how to do it myself. The online site is very good and you can export your priv-keys to a wallet so you receive dividends to that.

any shots of the exchange site?

If you look at the poll on the first page you can see some draft designs. That will give a good indication of how it should look.
