I would like to give an opinion: maybe the two sentences I have marked with a "strikethrough" may cause the wrong idea that the "fork" and the "abandonement" are present (and not past) problems... Maybe a first paragraph on this past solved problem and then continuing with the recent developments (not mixing both separate stages) might be a better solution.

I hope I am of any help. Smiley

First pass (it might look totally different by Tuesday):

Darkcoin Begins Paying Nodes From Block Rewards

Darkcoin’s much anticipated payments system to Master Nodes went live last week with node operators finally receiving a share of Darkcoins from miners block rewards.
After the first hard fork attempt to implement payments to Master Nodes caused the Darkcoin network to fork into several chains, the developers were forced to temporarily abandon the payments system.

The Master Nodes are part of Darkcoins privacy system which anonymises users through the Nodes by routing bundles of transactions from several people through them which renders the block chain incomprehensible to those trying to track spending patterns.

To prevent rouge Nodes being created which could overwhelm the network with bad actors, the Darkcoin developers have made it financially difficult to operate a Master Node.
To run a Master Node, each node requires a wallet with 1,000 DRK, around $9,500 at time of writing, to be available in order for the network to recognise that nodes are available for mixing.

This 1,000 DRK requirement has been called a ‘Proof of Service’ feature by the Darkcoin community, as it is a way for nodes to prove they are available to serve the network. The high price to operate a Node makes it financially difficult for most people to operate rogue nodes.
In return for setting up a Master Node and making it available for service, the network pays Nodes 20% of block rewards directly from the miners. It was this payment system which caused the recent Darkcoin fork.

The second attempt to implement the payment system was changed to a two-stage fork, which became known as a spork by the community. The network was updated, but pools and old wallets were not forced to update immediately.

The second stage of the network update due in the next few weeks will see an enforced ban from the network if pools do not update. This will prevent them from keeping payments to Master Nodes.
The use of Master Nodes and financially incentives through a share of the block rewards could be a way for other alt-coins and even Bitcoin to ensure their network is secured.

At present each Node is expected to receive random payments of around 1 DRK per day, but like mining the more nodes that join the network, the lower the reward per node, so node operators are gambling the price of Darkcoin will continue to rise.

Darkcoin will seek to implement its main anonymity features through the Master Nodes which are elected at random to carry out mixing of transactions. Once this feature is added, additional services can be conducted through the Master Nodes, enabling them to earn fees.

523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Next AnimeLotto Draw - June 29th 2014 01:00h on: June 29, 2014, 06:22:27 PM

Good work ! This is the right way to develop a coin. Anime doesn't attract the attention of trolls and disrupters because the monetary incentive is not immediate.

Konnichiwa, Majormax, it's always so good to see you here.

Yes, things are walking the best way they can now. See, the ANI exchange rate today is 0.00000004 BTC (0.00002335 USD). It was about 0.00000002 BTC not very long ago. That's great, because that was a natural movement, not an artificially induced one.

There are still many people dumping ANIs, mostly the miners, and it is their RIGHT to do it, because they need to profit from their (very important) service. BTW, any cryptocurrency must give all the necessary support to miners, because they are the "lungs" of the currency (while the community is the 心). Both must work in tune. Now it's up to the community to be naturally creating buy support: more buy support, means better prices, which brings in more miners, resulting in a stronger currency.

Now, for the buy support to be sustainable, we need utilities for the currency. Simply hoarding it will, in the end, makes more bad than good to the true currency, because money NEEDS to circulate in order to be effective. That's basic. The more it is useful, and circulates, more value it will receive (that's what worries me most now about BTC and the altcoins in general... people are not willing to spend their BTC, they prefer to hold and wait it to skyrocket... IMHO the effects will be opposite...). Anyway, if money does not circulate well, then no merchant will be interested in it, you can be sure (that's why it is important that the coin be fairly widespread, it circulates more easily - with the advantage that it also prevents orchestrated pumps and dumps).

Another important detail: VALUE comes from the coin per se, it must not come from the eventual exchanges it might be traded on. While I always vote for ANI to be added to new exchanges, and I thank all those who do vote, actually I am pretty satisfied with the exchanges that already believe in our Animecoin, and already give us their support (see links here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423339.msg7539465#msg7539465). They are very good exchanges, and I am very thankful to all of them. Of course, more exchanges means more safety, more exposure, more reach, more volume, more options, etc. But Animecoin value cannot depend on being included in some new exchange, because this kind of dependance is only pump-n-dump wise: it gives us no real value, but only unsustainable (and risky) price, good only for short-term profits, but maybe not so good in the long run. (We must always put our focus on the Animecoin objectives, and they are long term objectives - see animeco.in)

So, as long as I see the community working together for Animecoin, and I see progresses, I am satisfied, no matter the eventual price at the exchanges.

And I am very happy with our community, because, little by little, we are joining forces, and, although I would love to see the Dev also openly participating (no doubt it would give more trust and strenght to ANI), I know it's Ani-chan's right not to be here  (in the open, because, who knows Ani-chan is not amongst us with a different nick, after all Wink). The Dev has his/her personal reasons not to be participating, and I am not here to judge anyone. (Satoshi Nakamoto is not openly active to BTC, and it has not been a problem at all...)

Thank you, my friend.

And, to Animecoin Community: 大好きだよ! ^^

p.s. I have no intentions to be a leader or a guru here. I am only doing what I believe is the correct thing to do. If any of you have any other better ideas, or opinions, please, fell free to share with all of us. The important is the community, not personal objectives. Thank You.

DRK and XC Communities,

The toxic back and forth between our two communities has reached a level with which neither of us are comfortable or impressed.  The competitive space for our coins lies in the results, and the results will speak for themselves as they are brought online.  Whatever mistakes or provocations were undertaken by either side are in the past, and we would like them to remain there.  We are all interested in one thing: the advancement of anonymous cryptocurrency.   Let go of the tribalism and start thinking of how you can positively contribute to that end.

Evan and Dan

Thank you

Thank you, highlandknight san, for your suggestion ^^

I will try to get in touch with them - actually we all should try to get in touch with merchants, introducing Animecoin to them: that's what I have been doing a lot recently. At least, a handfull of shops are now aware of ANI (from the replies I have received, most weren't even acquainted to Bitcoin...)

Glad to see you here. Your posts and suggestions are always relevant (e.g. I've been voting hourly at https://www.allcoin.com/vote/#ANI Wink)

There is also Chuck's Anime Shrine (chucksanimeshrine.com). They've got this great blog, and, what's best, a nice online shop at http://chucksanimeshrine.com/shop ... They accept Bitcoins!!!

http://blog.chucksanimeshrine.com/2014/03/bitcoin-founder-revealed-buy-anime.html

It's much easier now that they give this step further and also accept Animecoins. I have already sent them an e-mail. But maybe it is a good idea if we all get in contact with them and introduce them to Animecoin and to our community, in order to show them how important they are for us!

There are so many good merchants, so many good opportunities. We just have to spread the word about Animecoin. I am sure we will have the honour of many good merchants accepting our kawaii Animecoin.

Hello, my friends,

As previously announced, as this is the last week of June, we will be having an AnimeLotto Draw!!

The next draw will happen next Sunday, June 29th.

Before that, next Saturday (28th), the link to the ticket created with the list of donors that will be participating in the draw (to be created at http://www.randomresult.com/ticket.php with all those who will have donated until the limit date of June 27th, next Friday) will be published in a post here at our community thread, and also at http://animecoiner.blogspot.com.

Until this moment we have 7 donors participating in this month's draw (http://animecoiner.blogspot.com/p/crowdfunding.html), they are:

  • Raganius Animecoiner (2) ANI AS7LjvBc5KY7wpV1VYvZLHY7uC7gXbAhKi
  • AiakosGatana (3) *Please, let me know your ANI address
  • CripLib (4) ANI AXLm3GNvX4WxX1mzsCdnw9GPr7QcPL4P8U
  • Katekyo (5)  ANI APsMQYnZFRMkncJjGtJ5Nmgw1HMuuL9h8E
  • CryptoFutaba (6) ANI AVdYjxw2ez3dyEoPd5HzRtWTf24GAkFTKE
  • Mellzinha (7) ANI AR1grVQknsuRiQ7o2TSkcSDjNpAWzmf9EJ
  • (oYo) (8) ANI AZRpW3jVUgkVvMYh4KvVKSHecR31UHMxEv

* AnimeLotto number 1 participant is always our own community (please see rule 11 at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423339.msg7148609#msg7148609)

Everyone still have the opportunity to participate in this month's draw as long as a donation is made untill next Friday, June 27th. Any donations made after that (from June 28th on) are also very welcome, because they will be very important to add to our CrowdFund, but will only be participating in our following draw (July/2014).

Good Luck for all of us!!

Why don't we play a little? Let's make a prize draw from the Animecoin CrowdFund donation list?

It works like that:

1 - When making a donation, each donor will inform the amount sent, the txID, and also his Animecoin address (in this case, I am not sure, but I think it is against the rules of the Bitcoin Forum to post addresses here, so maybe the address should be provided by private message).

2 - Each donor will receive a number respective to the donation made. The AnimeLotto number will be published at the Animecoiner Blog.

3 - The donor will have exclusive rights over his AnimeLotto number received: if he makes more than one donation during the period of the month current to the draw he will hold more than one AnimeLotto number.

4 - Every last week of each month there will be a draw.

5 - The specific date for the draw will always be previously announced here and at the Animecoiner Blog, with a link to monitor the results.

6 - For fairness, a random generator (http://www.randomresult.com/ticket.php) will be used.

7 - 3 (Three) random numbers will be picked by the random generator, from the donations made on the period of the month current to the draw.

8 - The #3 will receive as the third prize 5% (five percent) of his picked donation multiplied by half the number of donations during the period of the month current to the draw, with a limit of 5% (five percent) of the total CrowdFund Balance.

9 - The #2 will receive as the second prize 5% (five percent) of his picked donation multiplied by the number of donations during the period of the month current to the draw, with a limit of 10% (ten percent) of the total CrowdFund Balance.

10 - The #1 will receive as the first prize 10% (ten percent) of his picked donation multiplied by the number of donations during the period of the month current to the draw, with a limit of 20% (twenty percent) of the total CrowdFund Balance.

11 - Whenever the Random Number is "1" (one), then the respective prize is kept for the CrowdFund balance (no one wins, or better, the Animecoin Community wins).

12 - At the end of each year, the AnimeLotto of the last week of December will be a special one, including all the AnimeLotto numbers of that year (BIG PRIZE!).

The motivation for this game is to attract the attention to Animecoin, and, of course, as an incentive for more donations, working, at the same time, as an Animecoin Giveaway.

So, How do you like this idea? Any comments, or opinions are very welcome.

I think we should try it, and see if it works.

頑張って!!

+1
I'd like to second that! Thank you raganius for stepping up and doing a fine job. I'd also like to thank everyone else for their support through valued donations, adding features and great ideas.

It is I who have to thank you all for being here. I really love Animecoin and I wish this dream to come true.

Also, how peaceful it is here. Isn't it? I participate (or at least try to) in some of the other threads here in BitcoinTalk, but, oh boy, there is a war going on out there!! Everywhere there is stressed posters, fud, threats, fights... People are more worried with "easy" pump and dump money (mere illusion, changing the cryptocurrencies into casinos), and each alt keeps attacking the others as soon as any progresses are achieved! I don't wish this hell to Animecoin.

Animecoin is happiness... It is pleasure... Just like anime and manga, and sushi are  Cool

Of course, we want better exchange rates, it's necessary, but I wish the appreciation will be soft and steady, without too many bumps and, especially with no awful pumps and dumps!!!

... by the way!! I think it's about time for the AnimeLotto result... just a second...

538  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Way to make people use BTC on: June 28, 2014, 08:37:52 PM
It opens up a new income stream for the "owner"

If you tell him, how many BTC is in circulation, and he can get a piece of that pie, by adopting this currency, he might consider it. The early adopters will get new customers and more feet into his business.

And this is just an experiment, to show people how the currency works. {Introduction to BTC}  Wink

And (at least here where I live - countrywise) it's amazing to notice that the huge majority of the people (including here merchants) are not at all acquainted to Bitcoin: some have never even heard about it, and of those who have already heard about it most have incredible fears and misconceptions.... It must be changed somehow...

As raganius mentioned, it would be good for the merchant to accept both bitcoin and fiat.  I think accepting fiat and having a bitcoin tip jar next to the register would work well (http://youtu.be/UrXVVkV5UUk).  I don't have a lot of coins in my pocket and I don't want to tip someone $1 for a cup of coffee, so I don't leave a tip.  If I can just pull out my phone and leave a tip, that would be great.  They could even print the QR code on the receipt.  I'll leave a tip if I'm settled down or after a big meal. I'm not breaking any laws or purchasing any goods, just leaving a tip.

Great idea, indeed!
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHARE]ShareCoin - Pure POS - The only coin backed up by a real bussiness on: June 28, 2014, 08:22:00 PM
It is my personal feeling that no one should be trading this coin. Increasing it's value is only going to help the largest holder, ZIPlibrary, the dev who ran with everyone's coin that was on his exchange.

That said, I am not going to tell anyone else what to do.

I am going to delete my wallet and sharexcoin 2FA token for good.

However, I have about 11k coins in my wallet. I will offer them to the first Jr Member or better BTT member that replies to this that they want the coin. If you are the first, PM me your share coin address and I will send the contents of my wallet to you.

After that, I am done with the coin and the two threads. If something comes of the recovery effort, great. But I only want my 4000 NXT, I don't care about the SHARE coin, I'm done with it. Written off and moving on.

I will take them if still available.

Ok, they are yours. PM me your address.
i sell share 1:1 for cool or enrg

also acepting gameleaguecoin

I've got a little more than 100,000.00 SHARE. I'd donate all of them, with the condition that the person interested in receiving them previously make a donation of at least 50,000.00ANI to the Animecoin Community Crowdfund (http://animecoiner.blogspot.com.br/p/crowdfunding.html).

With it I'd avoid destroying the sharecoins I have in my possession, which might be of interest to someone else, while we will be helping Animecoin Community efforts.

So, anyone interested may PM me, or make a pledge post at the Animecoin Community thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423339) referring to this post, please.

Jeeez, heavy troll infestation today...

On another note - waiting for VRC dump. Scratching my head how folks fall for the same trick again and again.

BC, WC, XMR, CRYPT, XC and so many other, P&D, come and go, all while DRK keeps rocking. Time to learn the lesson.

I never got on the BC train, but while many were in for the P&D, I think some of the central team were trying their best to do something positive.

Yes, there are some other altcoins that, just like DRK, I do believe are legitimate. I don't think an altcoin necessarily excludes others: I prefer believing that each has got their own advantages that should be mutually respected... and why not the exchange of good ideas?

peace, please.
