521  Other / Meta / Re: Why suddenly Cloudflare Human Verification is Coming Up? on: February 19, 2024, 02:29:59 PM
I have experienced that sometimes too and from my experience I think it mostly happens when the forum traffic is way high. But sometimes the strength of our internet connection can also be a contributing factor.
I do not think it is either of these two reasons. I have been noticing it since morning since I woke up and till now, but only if I do not access the forum for sometime like 30 minutes or more, it will appear again. Not appearing if accessing the forum continuously.

We can not say the forum is having higher traffic today than it is since many days or weeks ago when we are not seeing the issue. Also I am using 5G phone with good Internet speed that is very fast and I am seeing the issue. Probably this will be something against DDOS attack is my guess and we will not see it again after some period of time.
522  Other / Meta / Re: Why suddenly Cloudflare Human Verification is Coming Up? on: February 19, 2024, 02:18:46 PM
It is not like that for everyone. It depends on the kind of browser and VPN you are using. The more private your connection is the more captchas you may likely solve.
I am seeing it on three different browsers and only Duckduckgo is a bit private, the other two browsers are not.

You can try using
If you have persistent difficulties with the CAPTCHA, go here after logging in. to bypass the captcha but be careful as that link can be used to brute force your login because captchas help slow down brute forcing process since they have to be solved manually.
It is not login issue that OP is talking about.

I am not trying to login as I have opted for Always stay logged in option. So, I am trying to only access the forum and everytime I do it I have to go through this shit.
523  Other / Meta / Re: Why suddenly Cloudflare Human Verification is Coming Up? on: February 19, 2024, 02:14:57 PM
I am also seeing it and not only you but everyone on this forum.

You should know that it would be against any possible attack in this forum would be the reason why we are seeing it. Just be patient and everything would be solved and all will be fine again.
524  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 2023 List Bitcoin Mixers Bitcoin Tumblers Websites on: February 19, 2024, 12:18:15 PM
News services will be added
That will be a news regarding newly added features and recent changes to one or some of the mixers? Or what will the news be about?

I have another question. Why not change the topic name from 2023 to 2024 which is the year that we currently are. 2023 has passed. Or you do not want to do that because mixers are banned on this forum?
525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What game will you choose for one shot big bet? on: February 19, 2024, 11:49:46 AM
Well roulette might seem like a quick way to double up but it's a total toss-up. You've got a 50/50 shot but there's no guarantee you'll come out on top. Just be aware of the risks before going all in and we should remember it's all about luck
Roulette can not give at ones the return that OP is taking about. The 50/50 shot that you take about can only give 2 times win in a way the gambler can double his money. To gain back 90% of the money used to stake back, the gambler needs to use the 10% to gamble at least three times with the total money won and initial stake to be used consecutively, but it will still remain 10% losses. I do not think gambling with roulette three times can give your all winning. If someone has lost 90% of his money already, trying to chase the loss will only lead to lost of the remaining 10%.
526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Warning: Cryptocurrency Theft Involving Kaspersky Password Manager - My Story" on: February 19, 2024, 11:06:44 AM
Sorry for your loss. But you have the most part to be blamed for.

On July 12, 2023, I became a victim of cryptocurrency theft in the amount of 1.32605552 BTC. I had access to my wallet only on a paper medium, as well as through Kaspersky Password Manager, where 12 secret words were stored to access the wallet in the Trust Wallet application on my iPhone XS Max.
You store your seed phrase on a password manager. That is wrong. Having it stored on a paper is better. You can have like three copies of it stored in different locations. If you are afraid of those that can see it, then use passphrase with it.

Another thing is that you are using a close source wallet. Use open source wallet instead although this is not about what you are talking about but close source wallets should be avoided.
527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gary Gensler: "Bitcoin is not that decentralized" on: February 18, 2024, 05:41:25 PM
Bitcoin is decentralized

Centralized exchanges and Bitcoin ETF which are centralized are not part of what that makes up the bitcoin network. If we are talking about bitcoin, we should be talking about the network and noncustodial wallets.

And allow me to be a bit mean: maybe he confused it with Ethereum.
No, he knows that bitcoin is decentralized but centralized exchanges and other centralized ways of holding bitcoin by other users are centralized is what he was talking about.
528  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixing on: February 18, 2024, 04:50:31 PM
"Mixing sites" are scams because you trust third parties with your data and with your coins
Stop spreading false information. Mixers are not scam. He can use a reputable mixer. It will have onion link and he should use Tor to access the onion link. I will not say that you do not know what you are saying because you know about this very well, so I will say you should stop lying.

I would recommend a mixer that is open source and reputable. If you can not check how the mixer is working you can definitely get scammed even if the mixing service is reputable. There are also a lot of "reputable" exchanges that suddenly closed and scammed a lot of people. So better to do some research and mix only small amounts from time to time.
To say that mixing services can not be shady is kind of shady in it self.
Who is saying that a mixer can not be a fake mixer or a shady mixer? I did not see where I mentioned that. All I said was that a reputable mixing service should be used and that if you want to use the mixing service, that it is good to go for the .onion link which is more privacy that using the clearnet link.
529  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] Spot And Avoid Some of the Common Crypto Scams. on: February 18, 2024, 04:29:58 PM
The is a good and useful article but there are more crypto scam than these 4. But the way you wrote it is good.

How to spot and stay away from phishing attacks?

  • Always use 2fa security on websites, like a confirmation email when someone tries to sign in with a different ip, or use google authenticator 2fa, etc.
  • Always check what url you will be redirected to: To Check that you can copy the hyperlink and paste it to a notepad for checking if it's a real website or not. For pc just hover over the hyperlink you will see the redirecting url on the left corner of the browser window.
  • Do not fall for free stuff like giveaways.
  • Always use a different browser profile for finance related sites like banking sites, exchanges, etc.
Using 2FA might protect you from hackers to hack steal your coins from your exchange account that you are using  to trade but not useful to avoid phishing attack. Also using different browser can not help you to avoid phishing attack. Just know how to know the phishing attack emails and messages generally and do not open the phishing emails and messages. They are easy to know and avoid.

533  Other / Beginners & Help / Reminder of possible fake app download on application stores on: February 14, 2024, 04:54:46 PM
I could remember when Electrum fake wallets were common on Google Playstore. There were many other wallets with fake apps on Android. People offen report it of which I guess most many reports are from people on this forum because they can easily know the right and the fake app.

Have you noticed that App Store is bombarded with Apple fake apps now and these fake apps are common than before. I saw another one on Cointelegraph just not long ago but which is about Curve Financial which is a decentralized finance protocol.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/fake-curve-finance-app-listed-apple-store

Any app can be cloned and fake in order to scam some people. Use the official site to download a software or just make sure the app you are about to download have been downloaded by many people like above 100000 people before you proceed to download it.

You do not need to rephrase or paraphrase what you copied from another site. If you rephrase it, it would be known and it would be seen as plagiarism. It is even plagiarism. If you want to copy from another site, it is better you include the link at the beginning or the end of your post.
536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about the lost BTC? on: February 12, 2024, 12:11:28 PM
No, lost bitcoin are gone forever. If you want to recover any lost bitcoin, try all possible way to recover back the private key or the seed phrase.

Something like adding more BTC in an equivalent amount for those lost BTC, or something similar.
Just like what centralized ripple (XRP) developers wants to do. It is not making any sense. Private key or seed phrase are used to prove the ownership of an address and that is also needed to spend the coins, which is enough.

539  Economy / Exchanges / Re: cannot convert my ltc to usdt on: February 11, 2024, 07:36:12 PM
No each exchange has different limits they set so this might be only for Mexc, other exchanges can have lower limits.
I was able to convert $2 worth of crypto to another crypto on Bybit before, but also now you have to trade at least $5. On Binance, it has to be at least $10.

Probably yes. Even if you manage to find another exchange, that has lower withdrawal limits, you would probably still need to pay for a withdrawal fee (possibly 1 USDT t). It's probably not worth it. You're better off finding someone who's willing to do this for you instead of using an exchange.
He is talking about trading fee. But it is truly not just worth it even if it is trading fee or withdrawal fee because $2 is small. I think he just want to hold a stable coin.

First of all, you need to move this thread from the Bitcoin discussion board to the Altcoin discussion board.
It supposed to move it to exchanges board. Why? You can understand that from this quote:

So all the exchanges have that 5 minimum dollar rule?
540  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Cold card connected to labtop on: February 11, 2024, 08:08:30 AM
So if in your case you suspect that the computer is not fully airgapped then you might have to considered that airgapped nature of the hardware wallet already defeated.
No. Coldcard is a hardware wallet, but that needs to connect to an online wallet like Electrum or Sparrow through a micro USB or the USB type C cable, depending on the model of the Coldcard hardware wallet. But I do not like this type of ways to sign bitcoin transaction, I like the use of QR code which as been proven as the most effective way to sign bitcoin transaction with the hardware wallet remain airgapped.
