521  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk Founder 13 years and counting of inactivity here on BitcoinTalk on: December 14, 2023, 02:53:16 AM

5. I feel like he used a GMX.com email purposefully so someone could recreate it years later. Seeing how in the Bitcointalk database his email literally is "satoshin@gmx.invalid" he knew about the risks of using GMX.

Accessing that email is useless. The forum has been hacked twice and most of the old accounts have been locked. Without signing a message from one of the addresses that Satoshi owned, there is nothing that can confirm the identity of the account owner.

Just another Satoshi topic... Personally, I don't like such kind of topics because we only can speculate and predict as we don't know almost anything. In these 13 years of inactivity it didn't become clear what happened to Satoshi, whether he is alive or not and etc. I doubt that we will get answer in next 13 years and maybe it will be mystery forever.
It is supposed to be a memorial, but some of the information provided is inaccurate.
522  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake Wallet Guard site on: December 14, 2023, 02:41:03 AM
You can report such cases and the user will be banned. I am surprised why wallet services do not purchase most of the domains and redirect users to one domain or choose a name so that all domains can be purchased from it. their reliance on domains such as .app and ignoring .com makes the task of scammers easier.

The other positive news is that the fake site doesn't have a high rank on Google to possess a real threat to those searching by the main keyword. Unless the scammer purchases Google ads, the visibility will be low. Tagging and reporting anyone new who appears here to advertise that website is the only thing to do for now.

The date of creation of the domain is recent, so it will not get a good place in Google search, so they rely on direct promotion.
523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers claim $2 million in Bitcoin after stealing Insomniac game data on: December 13, 2023, 01:35:28 PM
With the recent closure of many mixing services, mixing 50 Bitcoins efficiently may require a fee of about 4% and then trusting a central party that it will mix your currencies correctly and that it will get rid of the logs, which is a big risk.
Isn't it easier to obtain it in Monero, run a platform to sell Monero for Bitcoin, and get Bitcoin legally and privately?
524  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [NEWS] bitcoinmonkey.org - Trending Crypto News Aggregator 🐒🤖📰 on: December 13, 2023, 01:07:37 PM
What do you exactly mean with "split screen dynamic"? Do you have any example?
Separate pages within a single webpage where with in main page, small pages can be reduced, enlarged, deleted, added, etc.

You can find the idea here, not necessarily the same interface. https://pro.kraken.com/app/trade/btc-usd

Unfortunately I have only limited time to dedicate to this project for now, but your feedback is really appreciated! Wink
You have already done an amazing job, the quality of the news display algorithm is the key to success.
525  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Black Friday deals are you going for? on: December 13, 2023, 12:50:26 PM
Black Friday is an opportunity to get discounts, but without tracking the price of the product during the year, some of these discounts may not be as good as you imagine. Last year, I bought a shoe for $140 compared to the real price, which was $210, only to discover later that its price was $90.

With Bitcoin, I can only buy gift cards, some discounted digital products, or hardware wallets.
526  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [NEWS] bitcoinmonkey.org - Trending Crypto News Aggregator 🐒🤖📰 on: December 13, 2023, 11:58:09 AM
The UI is very attractive, the design is impressive, but the site is a little crowded and there is no way to rearrange or divide the screen or search for a specific topic or use a specialized keyword. If you make the split screen dynamic so that the user can delete or modify parts and improve the algorithm for displaying hot events, you will get great traffic.
527  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Reviews on edxmarkets.com ?? on: December 13, 2023, 11:42:14 AM
Anybody have any reviews on this site? Saw some bad and good reviews in my google searches. It’s supposed to be backed by Schwab and fidelity.

It is difficult for a bitcoin exchange supported by Schwab Fidelity and there is no news about it in international newspapers, or at least on news sites related to Bitcoin. Fidelity's have Spot Bitcoin ETF, so it is difficult to get involved in supporting a new exchange, and if they did, they would choose Coinbase and not an unknown exchange.

If edxmarkets.com is promoting this, it is a scam.
528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You must have a source on: December 13, 2023, 11:32:38 AM
Life fluctuates greatly and you may find yourself forced to sell your Bitcoin, so always try to make Bitcoin the first investment you buy when you have a surplus and the last thing you spend when you need cash.
Everyone who sold did not calculate the risks, and few are exempt from this rule. They are those who sold due to an urgent need, such as accidents, educating children, or paying off an urgent loan. Sometimes, you short Bitcoin to buy it again at a low price.
529  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk Founder 13 years and counting of inactivity here on BitcoinTalk on: December 13, 2023, 10:58:54 AM
In fact, Satoshi did not post a single topic on this forum. bitcoin forum moved to BitcoinTalk in 2011 after Satoshi’s disappeared.
The first account was admin account, which may be managed by Satoshi. the date of creating the Bitcoin forum is slightly earlier than the date of creating Satoshi’s account.

This is strange. I suggest you to wait for several days and ask the support team again. Sometimes they give you inaccurate answers or complicated answers so that you are forced to abandon your idea.
Some mixers work and do not have problems with many hosting service, and there are no laws that criminalize or prohibit these activities, so the best advice is to stay away from using Hostinger.
531  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Gate.io Will Not Allow Certain Cryptos To Leave Exchange? on: December 12, 2023, 03:41:41 PM
Gate.io have active complaints on reddit, and I did not find a complaint that talked about problems with withdrawal. https://www.reddit.com/r/GateioExchange/ However, Gate.io may restrict or block access to its services in some countries, so always be sure to check your country in the special list https://www.gate.io/user-agreement
532  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Unknown fact our profitable colleagues won't tell us on: December 12, 2023, 03:33:24 PM
The 1:3 risk reward ratio trading strategy may not be possible, because in order for there to be quick profits, the risks must be high, and then the ratio will not remain 1:3, and this ratio will not bring you large profits, even though you are making profits.
Try, learn and benefit, and then determine the trading strategy that can be acceptable to you so that the total number of trades is profitable and the average of them leads you to increase your Bitcoin holdings.
If you want to choose 1:3 risk reward ratio, always check Stop loss gain%.

533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who do we feel biased about in bridging the potential outputs of Bitcoin? on: December 12, 2023, 03:19:35 PM
Altcoin is supposed to be a blockchain that provides alternatives or solutions that cannot be available in Bitcoin, such as adding a privacy layer, speed of confirming transactions, or better management of smart contracts, not copying, pasting, and quick investment to achieve a higher profit.
Taking this definition into account, the number of altcoins should be limited.
Unfortunately this is a free market after all, centralized exchanges might able to limit the number of altcoins, but any project can list their coins in swap exchange. I think most of coins that exist are failed projects, only Monero looks successful.
Centralized exchanges cannot limit the number of altcoin. blockchain is open source and you can issue a new coin or token easily, but it is difficult to create liquidity and value for it without centralized exchanges. It is true that there can be liquidity from DEXs, but good projects are easily listed.
The only thing that will reduce the number of altcoin is investors not betting on them. altcoin developers aim for quick profits. Your failure to invest in these projects makes them either strive to develop them or stop, and in both cases it will reduce the number of altcoins.
534  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Real world side gigs for sats. on: December 12, 2023, 02:53:07 PM
Losing trades in trading does not mean that you have lost your money. There is a stop trading order that you can place near a resistance level and start trading assuming that the support levels will be broken or sell directly when the price touches the resistance level here your loss will be closer to zero. Trading is not a losing or winning bet, as happens in gambling, but a correct prediction means profits, and an incorrect prediction may not mean a loss.

I don't know if it's some random downtime or a planned maintenance, so I thought I could alert you here just in case. The Tor mirror works just fine as of now.
I cleared the cookies and the error still exists, so it appears that there have been modifications in the backend and access to the server has been restricted.
537  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The coin mixer advertised here stole my coins on: December 12, 2023, 01:53:15 PM

I don't remember it's name. It might have had "monkey" in its name. It's not the one being advertised now (or maybe it still is but it is not appearing to me). I'm sure there aren't hundreds of mixers that advertised here so if you or anyone can list the ones that advertised here, I am certain seeing the name again would ring a bell. This was last year. The amount they took was $7 worth at the time.
Do you mean ][banned mixer]? It's the only mixer you can describe. They had a campaign of signatures and stopped advertising.

The minimum limit for this mixer is 0.003 BTC, which is equal to $125.71 at current prices. It is a little high. I tried to mix and there is actually no warning about the minimum. Have you downloaded the letter of guarantee?

use them ANN topic to ask them about your money, they may refund you https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5457664.0 or at least add warning massage.

538  Economy / Speculation / Re: Coinbase App Store rank as a market top indicator on: December 12, 2023, 01:24:57 PM

Go to the Coinbase reddit and you can see almost everyday there are almost 100 new topics created. Currently about 500 people are browsing that reddit alone. Seems that they will need to hire more personnel to handle all this retail load. Sure there is also Robinhood but that also existed in 2021 and Coinbase still was #1 app.
What I tried to say is that relying on download numbers as an indicator for predicting the price will give inaccurate results due to the ease of influencing the download numbers compared to the price of Bitcoin. Launching rumors such as that Coinbase will have big airdrop will make the number of downloads jumping quickly.
539  Economy / Speculation / Re: Coinbase App Store rank as a market top indicator on: December 11, 2023, 08:17:59 AM
To call an indicator reliable, I think we have to subject this observation to many tests, as the dates you mentioned are biased, and if they give an indicator, they are an indicator of the desire of buying bitcoin, which is a strong indicator of selling.
If Coinbase announces that it will launch an airdrop or that it will give everyone who downloads the application $10, I expect that there will be millions of downloads without these downloads affecting the price of Bitcoin.

This is a chart of app downloads for about two years, and it is far from being similar to Bitcoin's chart.
540  Economy / Economics / Re: I spoken with very old and smart person. About economy and future on: December 11, 2023, 08:07:35 AM
This man’s talk included politics, some theories from the Cold War, and some crazy ideas, but there was no political presentation or analysis of matters or market reality, especially in markets like oil, in which politics, in addition to supply and demand, plays a pivotal role.
I see that human's desire to obtain cheap energy makes them develop innovations. The need for energy increased, so he discovered fire, then coal, internal combustion engines, gas, oil, and hydrogen. Who knows what the energy source of the future might be, but the only evidence is that the oil industry will continue for the next 20 years and that there is enough of oil and its price would be cheap.
