521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Defend the bitcoin network to the death on: December 14, 2020, 01:32:55 PM
I believe we should have a discussion on why it's so important to defend the bitcoin network to the death.

(metaphorically speaking, we don't have to sacrifice any life.)

I understand what you're saying, but I'm not an extremist when it comes to Bitcoin. It is the best candidate to replace our fiat, decaying system. But if something better pops out or if a flaw is discovered in the technology (I don't think it will happen if it stood its ground for so many years) I'll change my "team".
522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OTC Over The Counter BTC Trading? on: December 13, 2020, 08:55:27 PM
As far as I know OTC trading desks do specialize in providing liquidity from multiple sources when an order is entered in their records. It is a commission-based model as any other conventional broker. Not too versed in the OTC environment so this is more like a guess than a certain thing.
523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you rely on the odds when placing bets? on: December 13, 2020, 08:32:46 PM
I think most people who play regularly rely on odds. The ones who actually make a profit in the long run are those who have developed their own way to spot inconsistencies in the system. This kind of players are playing on betting exchanges as far as I know like betfair.

Although I play only occasionally, I mostly rely on odds with exceptions when my favorite team is involved  Grin
524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you sell your BTC for $100 000, and never go back to the game again? on: December 13, 2020, 07:12:20 PM
Of course not! What if Bitcoin becomes the world's mainstream currency and the main proof-of-value asset? I'm not willing to take the risk. Moreover I'm pretty confident that mark will be touched in the next couple of years.
Institutions are strong and putting a lot of buying pressure on the market these days.
525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is my Bank on: December 13, 2020, 04:58:23 PM
This is not black and white, my fellow Bitcoin'er. You can have a savings account and invest in Bitcoin at the same time. It is all about your personal portfolio allocation.

If you have a family and you rely on your savings to support your dear ones in case you lose your job, I suggest you keep a big chunk of it close by as an emergency fund. If you invest money you need, you will find yourself stressed out all the time by the market fluctuations.

This is just my humble opinion. Please don't take it as a financial advice.
526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Spouses and Divorce on: December 13, 2020, 02:58:24 PM
If someone like that would be like that, I would dump her immediately. Nobody should make a warning of the kind "if you don't do this, I'll leave you" - that is OBVIOUSLY a toxic relationship that shouldn't exist in your life. As long as the law of the respective state does recognise Bitcoin as an asset - it should be split according to the agreement between the two parties in case of divorce.

Anyway, the guy could just make a transaction to another address and claim he does not have acces to it. haha
But if he is made to swear under oath that he does not have access to it, it gets complicated.
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Free Of Charge 💱 Using AI I Shall Design Your Altcoin Portfolio on: December 13, 2020, 12:35:01 PM
I'm curious to find out your experience in developing smart contracts. Do you have a track record of your projects?

How exactly do you apply Artificial Intelligence to design the altcoin portfolio? You might want to give some explanations here or it might be seen as a marketing gimmick.
528  Other / Off-topic / Re: Instutions Invest in bitcoin real reason on: December 13, 2020, 09:20:23 AM
Allocating 5-10% of an investment fund to Bitcoin is not such a big risk for them. So even if BTC goes to 0 overnight which is highly improbable, they will only lose that 5-10%.

On the upside they have a lot to win. The risk:reward ratio of BTC is extremely enticing if you ask me + the fundamentals are strong af.
529  Economy / Economics / Re: I discovered something Good best safe heaven assets best performance on: December 13, 2020, 05:40:52 AM
I don't really understand your train of thought. You say that if you don't have EUR you have the USD in case one "disappears". They can't really disappear. They just be replaced by something. Don't worry, we will always have a a means of exchange.

The thing is with fiat currencies that you don't benefit from asset appreciation. Quite the opposite.. Your wealth will slowly be chopped down by inflation. Moreover do you trust the government to correctly handle the purchasing power of your money? Can we really trust that politicians do everything in our best interest when we have quite a low transparency of where our taxes go?
530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC vs GOLD on: December 12, 2020, 08:35:02 PM
I do expect Bitcoin to have an impact on Gold. I think there will be a change of behavior of investors who are looking to hedge their assets against the stock market and inflation. In my opinion BTC is not just a proof-of-value, but an emergent asset class whose benefits are now being discovered by institutions.

If you're interested I have wrote a piece of content around the BTC v Gold debate. https://cristianpop.net/bitcoin-the-currency-of-a-new-era/
531  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: There is no certainty in trading on: December 12, 2020, 07:58:48 PM
There is an inherent risk in trading you have to take. But thankfully a good trader has a risk management system in place. He knows his risk tolerance and how much he is willing to lose on a trade or how big a position he can create at any time.

If we think a little bit more philosophical, everything has a risk tied to it. Getting into your car and driving to work has a risk (small, but it's there) of dying. Government bonds do have a risk as well even some say they do not, but the reward is quite low. Govts. have and probably will default in the future.
532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will never replace fiat cash. on: December 12, 2020, 07:49:02 PM
I don't believe cash or paper is going to be part of our future. In 5-10 years I'd bet we won't use cash at all.

As long as we have internet there isn't any reason to keep using them. If something happens with the world like a ionic pulse that completely erases the networks luckily we will still have gold and.. of course we can make blockchain snapshots.
533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing 1$ every day in bitcoin over the last five years on: December 12, 2020, 04:21:48 PM
very good idea, but very difficult to do, because I prefer short-term trading do not like investing for many years.  I think waiting too long is very boring.  prefer to make profit every day.  Come to think of it, the result was a lot of saving over five years, but I'm not the type to wait for five years,

Yeah, man. We are all unique persons with different personalities and goals. Some like scalping, other ls tradiing while those who have other jobs and business will likely go for long-term investing.

Trading has its own twists and turns. Not a piece of cake, but it can be done profitably with dedication and focus.
534  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it worth to buy trading View ? on: December 11, 2020, 08:24:58 PM
The free version should be enough to learn how to trade and become profitable. In my opinion an upgraded tier is only required if you want to further refine your edge and/or become more comfortable by watching  multiple charts/time-frames in one window.
535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Millennials’ impact on the future of digital assets. on: December 11, 2020, 07:58:32 PM
I think it is safe to say that millenials are driving the mass adoption of Bitcoin. Open-mindedness and the spirit of innovation is what drives growth in today's world. The world is advancing at a rapid rate.

What I like is that millenials do inspire the older generations and honestly this is how it should be.
536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: so if the fed printing money and btc goes up genius idea here on: December 11, 2020, 06:26:49 PM
I think you got it wrong. Our current economy is very complex and there are a lot of moving parts that need to be balanced. We don't have a perfect economy, but it is a working model. Though there are a lot of people who live in poverty, some of them even die from starvation. So although the global economy is "working" to a certain extent, it is far from being a perfect economy of something like that even exists.

Bitcoin could be the solution for a radical change at a worldwide level.
537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I quit smoking and buy Bitcoin every week on: December 11, 2020, 05:49:46 PM
The smartest move I have seen in a while! Congratulations and I hope you will sustain this. The greatest return you get is your HEALTH! Good health gives you more energy and time. The fact that you decided to invest the "unlocked money" in Bitcoin will probably bring you a lot of benefits in the future. I'm thinking... can we create a some kind of campaign to discourage smoking? Maybe on social media. #QUITsmokingBUYbitcoin  Cheesy Cool
538  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing 1$ every day in bitcoin over the last five years on: December 11, 2020, 04:40:40 PM
Pretty mind-blowing if you think about it  Grin

Opportunities come and go. The important thing is to be aware of the changes in the environment to catch these moments when you can really upgrade your financial game. In other words we must have an open-mind. I've noticed how old patterns and habits of our society are starting to change. Nothing lasts forever. That's why we must be flexible in our thinking and fast in our actions.
539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Major Social Media Companies on: December 11, 2020, 03:23:54 PM
Wow, a horror stories podcast. Pretty sure it is the first time I hear about this. Can you send me a link to it? - I'm quite curious. Smiley

I think social media should be considered a public space that where we can express ourselves freely. How can they forbid posting a Bitcoin address? Sounds like nonsense to me..

Twitter and other reputable social media websites haven't taken any measures...
540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One guy built a Lighting ATM from Scratch ( $80) (Plz Check OP) on: December 07, 2020, 09:17:16 PM
Thanks for sharing man! You've just boosted my entrepreneurial spirit haha
Think about the ways we can educate close people about Bitcoin by building a cheap $80 Bitcoin ATM. Great way to teach kids finances while also creating a Bitcoin portfolio for the future.
