521  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: To overvolt or not to overvolt? on: January 10, 2012, 03:21:52 AM
Please excuse me if this has been discussed bef0re [and please excuse my 0's]. I did search and w0uld appreciate a link t0 appr0priate thread if it exists.

I'd appreciate if s0me0ne had #s sh0wing whether 0r n0t 0verv0lting is pr0fitable - ign0ring the extra wear 0n the card & p0tential pr0blems due t0 excess heat.

Ideally, if s0me0ne had p0wer draw & hash rate @ st0ck speeds, pwr draw & hash rate @ max stable cl0ck speed [w/0 0verv0lt], and pwr draw & hash rate @ max stable cl0ck speed and max stable 0perating v0ltage - that'd be great. As well, if s0me0ne has pwr draw & hash rate @ vari0us undercl0cks, that'd be all the m0re dandy.

If this data d0esn't exist, I'll d0 the testing myself in a few days when I'm back with my rigs [and fully-functi0nal keyb0ard!].

that'd be interesting data.. i'd like to see it also.

Just in case anyone runs into this..  We just picked up a bunch of MSI 890FXA-GD70 mobo's..  They came with bios ver 1.9 on them.. BAMT would not boot under any circumstances, kernel panic less than 1 second into boot process..  Flashed the bios's back down to ver 1.6, and the boards work fine with bamt now..  just FYI.

Hello all BAMT users,

I would like to request that we now start a bounty to have cgminer integrated into BAMT as cgminer now has an rpc interface per this thread -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=52466.0

I will start the bounty with a 30 btc pledge. I am not sure about the exact specifications of the integration, so if others would like to spec something out, I would appreciate it. I would like for the OP to ultimately host the patch that this upgrade would entail. Maybe he would like to do this work also?

Did this ever get off the ground?
529  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bought fake Insluin, hope someone has some info on the guy. on: January 03, 2012, 12:39:57 AM
I am good. I just had a really bad morning and thats all. And while I know you should not buy drugs in this mannor but if you knew how much this would cost me for just 7 days, you would be looking for other options too.

That's crazy man.  Out of curiosity, what does it cost?  Karmas gonna get that guy..
530  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hedge mining revenue? on: January 02, 2012, 04:08:08 AM
What is the correct way to protect mining revenue from another price decrease using Bitcoinica?  I'm somewhat familiar with trading but could use some help. If I'm concerned about a $1 decrease do I sell a trailing stop for the amount of BTC I'm holding $1 below market price?  Or do I buy a long position and hedge it separately with another?

You open a short position equal to the total amount you wish to hedge.  The idea is you need to have a no net position if you want to not be affected by the market swings, so if for example you are trying to protect 100 btc savings against fluctuation (thus long 100 btc) you need to short sell 100 btc, cancelling out your position..  It can be a little more tricky than that, but that's the basic idea.

Anyone been able to fix the issue of usb drives with multiple partitions not working on gigabyte boards?
Multiple partition ? you mean Sandisk U3 ?   You can usually make it a regular USB with their software,

No just any USB thumb drive, I have a gigabyte 990FX board, and BAMT will not boot, apparently due to gigabyte not liking usb drives with multiple partitions as noted in this thread..  just wondering if anyone has come up with a fix, I guess I could just do up pxe or something but id rather not use actual sata hard drives..
