521  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I Hacked Bitcoin on: May 14, 2013, 12:03:17 AM
I wish I had access to a few billion quantum computers and a few million years so I could hack wallets too!

Is it really that hard?
522  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best way to mine bitcoin? on: May 14, 2013, 12:01:33 AM
There are many ways to mine bitcoin these days, however, lots of them are spam (or not worth of your time). For example, bitcoinplus charges a big transaction fee just to withdraw the earnings. There are some websites where you can claim daily winning but it is very small amount. How do you guys mine your bitcoins? Is there really no way to mine bitcoin without purchasing hardware dedicated for mining?

Please share what you think. If you had some bad experience, please post it as well so other people can avoid it. Thank you for your contribution!

"Mining" bitcoins involving crunching numbers with GPUs (video cards) and that is now slowly evolving into dedicated ASIC machines to do the same task, but more efficiently and with much more number crunching power.  This is how new coins are "minted" and come into circulation.

Any other method of acquiring bitcoins is just free trade (or scams), not mining.

Thanks! I am debating whether I want to invest in buying these hardware or not. I know that you can only "mine" bitcoins in a bulk of 50. Therefore, it is better to join a pool. But even to join a pool, it seems like I need a better laptop/computer system to do so. I just want to try it for now (without putting to much money into it). I would be more willing to invest my money into mining once I have more experience with the logic behind bitcoin system.

You should also checkout bitcoin mining companys to buy shares because it could work out better in terms of ROI when thinking of going the mining direction.
Research both directions may work in your favor in the long run.

I was thinking of simply using localStorage with optional encryption with a passphrase, but I'm definitely up for other suggestions

https://blockchain.info - Store your wallet online with the option to backup your wallet on your computer or print on a sheet of paper. Great service

Which is better, your left hand or right hand? I think you should be asking about body instead and how to make it better.

You can invest in shares with different mining companys on this site and others which can help increase the bitcoins you have manyfold by mining for you but my advice is to do your research and make sure its a sound investment.

Checkout these sites which have mining companys on them providing this service;
https://bitfunder.com/
https://btct.co/
http://www.pyramining.com/referral/nts8pbdka

This could be a better alternative to mining but do your research and find out whats you belief is best for you.
527  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trying Ripple on: May 13, 2013, 11:01:38 PM
Is it just me, or does it seem that one needs 300XRP to "activate" an account in order to buy more XRP.. I don't quite understand. I'm willing to convert some BTC into XRP (I have an empty account on ripple.com) but I don't see how to get started.

Buy ripple with bitcoin on therocktrading.com if its any help to you.

Two documentaries along the same lines as Money as Debt. This is the kind of information everyone should know.
529  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yet another analyst :) on: May 13, 2013, 10:22:51 PM
my TA and research we will dip down in the short...like a few days sat sun maybe mon and tues. but then it will break hard up. ten to twenty dollar jump in one or two days. then a few little swings but ultamatly land in the high 120s, low 130s.  this is not a random speculation but a well researched and highly probable outcome.

prove me wrong. or just wait a few days.

What research do you base your estimates on?

is what, 7.45 hours?

Still, right now, no ripple.

24 hours after my initial post, no ripple.

You might have to wait a few weeks to monthe to recieve ripple but they will give them to you eventually. You can buy ripple at therocktrading.com or https://www.bitstamp.net.

At the rock trading, you can exhange bitcoin or euro to XRP.
At bitstamp you can trade USD
532  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predictions for the next bubble on: May 13, 2013, 09:37:39 PM
When the bitcoin hit about the $200 was when Cypress had their problems with the banks. This was the first time the banks in europe done something like this but it is not the last. This was just a template for future bailouts. Taken this into consideration with the fact that the euro and dollar are inflationary debt currency and will inevitably lead to more debt for the banks, I believe that bitcoin will go up 10 fold again easily in the next year or 2.

Take that into consideration with the fact that mobile payments with nfc, bitcoin debit cards and bitcoin merchant software becoming mainstream and more popular, the next bubble maybe USD and euro and not bitcoin.
533  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is the best way to let customers know that your business accepts bitcoin? on: May 13, 2013, 09:13:54 PM
You should make a few posts in marketplace of this forum and other bitcoin related sites to let people know of your business and that it it accepts bitcoins. The "Bitcoin accepted symbol on your site will definitely help too.

Hi,
I would like to take part in the ASIC group buy but I need to be able to send PMs.

Is one post enough to enable me the PMs?

Regards,
Racerkrk

I want to ask some questions about this bounty:

    https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=80815.msg912315#msg912315

But I can't post there yet. What do I have to do to be able to post there?
Hi, you have to send 4 or 5 posts and you should be able to post in other sections. I think you have to be online for 4 hours or something too

I'm setting myself the goal of getting 100 referrals by June 1st. I believe its possible but could do with a few tips and advice from other members.
