This means that many miners and pools are interested in the coin even before the launch which IMO it's a good sign

It's pretty good. There are already two PoW pools close to completion - developed independently by two different people. There will be a rudimentary proof-of-concept PoS pool hosted as well. The hope is that people can then take that code, improve it, and develop their own voting pools that others can join. The project can then list all of these pools and update the information so it's accessible to anyone. That will be a good start.

Let's push back another month, while we do a testnet airdrop to make sure the actual airdrop, PoS pools, and voting work as intended.

*ducks*
Nah lets wait till 2020 Smiley

i am a brand new investor and i think i've heard enough.
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Hybrid PoW/PoS | btcsuite Devs | Tons of New Features | Go on: February 01, 2016, 12:21:16 AM

I am part of Decred community whether you like it or not. But being part of Decred community doesn't mean I give unconditional support...

The one thing I really dislike here is "minority exclusion", i.e. voting system 66% threshold as well as public appeals to ignore community members...

I don't like it scambo, but hey do as you wish, your a free man, lol. OK, stay alert.

I don't mind the 66% threshold in theory. It should make change easier, to foster innovation in the bitcoin space.
Of course, in practice the decred devs/c0 will be able to outvote everyone else, what they say goes.
Shame decred did not take the opportunity to address the pressing need in bitcoin, the block size! that would be more innovative/insightful.

Scam, you must see many similarities between decred and neucoin? (or others)
Of course repackaged, reworked, reinvented.

Ok, credit if decred get the PoS pool up and running at launch. They should admit it was my due diligence (fud) that caused this turnaround.

But they were going to launch without a pool, effectively leaving "us" PoS-less.
And we know what happens when an entity controlls over 50% PoS, (which decred/c0 effectively still will, but less so) they "outvote others" to rewards.
(they effectively compound their PoS and buy tickets cheaper due to quicker rewards)

Now I don't mind ANY of this, I just want anyone with "real interest" in this to understand better.
In effect the PoS share will not be 50% decred/c0, 50% airdrop, but vastly more in favour of decred/c0 (for various reasons, some stated)
If decred explained this, fine. But they don't. (being as decred is marketed as a coin for "devs", serious players and knowledgeable people)
Being told to shut up by decreders and blanked by anonymous _ingsoc is quite familiar?

And my figures on the "$0.49" price tag allotted to repay decred/c0 in relation to a "working price" of $1.00, set by the boss Beyondtext?
Fobbed off by "the thickest one of the group" anonymous _ingsoc. (her own words not mine)

I can't get an intelligent reply to anything here. I know my lines of enquiry are uncomfortable. More so if things are being hidden I imagine.

I'm seeing many similarities to neucoin,

founders (claim to) work for years on development.
Large Premine
Founders get 2x value of dev pre-launch input repaid. (in relation to "sustainable price" of $1.00 - Beyondtext)
Founders get 450,000(?) decred PoS on top, for no extra work "hidden bonus" (this is not dev fund money. c0 money)
Founders pre-launch input "package" ammounts to 1,300,000 decred in year 1, far more than "implied" (and continue after that)
decred need to trade at $1.00 to self fund on "workable" scale.
Incompatible mathematical evaluations.
Lots of reorgs and unluck PoS miners. (expected)
"Dev fund" starts empty. No project development for some time until funds are accumulated?
Founders "hidden bonus" 1st yr PoS yields more decred than the Dev funds "10% of all blocks"
DHG (dev fund) controlled by founders.
Block explorer promised due to my due diligence. (waiting on fulfilment)
Launch delayed to create essential PoS pool due to my due dilegence. (but no acknowledgement to me. didn't see any other "users" complain)

Also,
Anonymous spokesperson  _ingsoc (Sandrine?)
An owl instead of a rabbit?
Anonymous "decred" team posting.
No sign of Beyondtext here, hardly. (to clarify my figures are correct, not anonymous _ingsocs misinterpretation)

Hmmm.... you know me scam,
If I dont get genuine answers I tend to keep trying.

100% this. Decred solves nothing, and brings nothing new to the community and the 'bonus' to the devs is hilarious. Not to mention that we already know that airdrop is a terrible idea for any coin where you just arbitrarily spread 'value' to people with no involvement or effort. Airdrop is also easy as hell to fake.

We value your opinion, and it has been noted. Someone will be dispatched to address your completely subjective opinion and unfounded accusation as soon as hell freezes over.

Thank you for the constructive and well put feedback.

I know - I saw you posting something useless and figured I might try it. It can be kinda fun. At least someone may find amusement in mine.

Always fun with people that support a coin for no reason at all except maybe make a few buck and have absolutely no way of defending bad launch design or disbursement.

This coin is completely pointless and has no purpose.
we have heard you. now fuck off.
it's all fun and games cos we're bored but come launch i don't want you here.

Anyone getting payouts from btcpool? I haven't got any

Mine eventually came through, I think the limit is 70 Coins since I have 3 tx at the same amount give or take.

I see on their stat page I and other people with similar hashrate (10mhs) have no "shares". What does it mean? How can i calculate my earning?

You can't pretty much until ocminer or the likes of the others decide to set up a pool where you can view more detailed stats.

Ok, ty. I see some big guys have 1ghs pointed toward this coin, are those gpu?

GPU Farms perhaps...
nah its just a guy who just got his hands on a wallet driving up dif from his nicehash account.

Love the use of Quark algo. not only will there be no crazy rush to rentals, but really anyone with a cpu, gpu, or even a hardwear card can mine.
i personally am setting up my laptop both the I-7 and my little 750M to see what happens Wink
minerd64_sse4.exe -a quark -o stratum+tcp://coin-server.com:TBA -u "Coin addy" -p X
for the cpu with https://github.com/Neisklar/quarkcoin-cpuminer if anyone's intrested.
gpu i believe pooler had a fork?
not sure maybe you or another member will drop the miners they will be using for us at launch? Wink))
6 hours, open pre-reg on pool, let us get set up!! ;p;p

How do you know there won't be any rush to rentals ??
how do you know instaminers aren't just waiting for launch

i only meant that we wont get the usual rental/profit dumpers a sha or scrypt coin gets due to the way less number of rental available. i like to think many less people are able to insta-mine algos like quark but maybe im wrong Wink
Jesus man who shit in your cornflakes today? ;p

Haha how do you know i'm eating cornflakes right now ? Tongue Tongue Tongue

I don't think so that we need a blockexplorer right now. We are still on testnet. Let's just wait until Feb 3 and then we can sort out things like this

A web-based block explorer is being worked on. There will be a block explorer for both mainnet and testnet. Both of those are important and will be available.

OK thanks anonymous _ingsoc. Available when? At launch? (it's test net now so..?)

Even more important, PoS.
As I highlighted in an earlier post, decred devs are "forecast" to get 450,000 decred PoS yr1 profits on their premine, with no additional work due.
With no pool for us muppets, decred devs now stand to gain thousand? hundreds of thousands? more PoS.
We stand to gain very few.

remember davecgh said (decred dev, decred forum) "the system was designed with stake pooling in mind"
Yet not provided? A pool is essential at launch.

Could you shut up till mainnet launch when they actually start developing ?

No, you miss the point of course.

Our ability to achieve PoS should be READY at launch. .
It is not a development issue, it's a basic fair launch issue.
The decred dev team have sorted out PoS for themselves

You want to walt for davecgh to help develop in 6 months?
(when he has filled his pockets with our 6 month share of PoS, maybe 200,000 decred)

Remember "the [PoS] system was designed with stake pooling in mind"
Yet not provided?

A pool is an essential part of a "fair" launch.

This isn't a new concern we all know about this.
do you want them to not stake coins ?
is that what you want ?
also does pooled staking make much of a difference ?
you'll just get what you would've anyways only now it'll be in tinnier pieces
