Can't help my curiosity... I know SXC is a popular coin, and I'm pleased about that, by my count it's rated #16, out of 123 coins in this post. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=264016.msg2984683#msg2984683It's been growing nice and steadily, but today the network reached about 40 M/H. to put that into perspective, I looked at the averages of the hashrate of other coins on coinchoose.. Here's a list... Americancoin 0.76 M/H Nucoin 1.43 M/H Craftcoin 4.46 M/H CHNcoin 4.57 M/H Nibble 4.91 M/H Nanotoken 5.06 M/H Phenixcoin 8.85 M/H Orbitcoin 13.37 M/H Richcoin 14.39 M/H Elephantcoin 15.17 M/H Redcoin 15.33 M/H Stablecoin 19.39 M/H Bitbar 24.00 M/H Alphacoin 34.93 M/H Usually the network sits in the 12-16 M/H range, the news that a new client is being tested for release is well known, and SXC hasn't hit an exchange just yet so.. Any theories or ideas on why the huge surge ? I can account for an extra 10 M/H, but the rest is a mystery...

"Isn't it time you got SXC ?"
No addy, I'm disqualified as a "dev", but I don't see why I can't have fun too..

Hiya guys, I am looking to buy as many SXC as possible. I've got 7000 BBQ and 32000 LKY I'm willing to exchange, but I might drag out some of my LTC if I think it's worth it. The exchange will be through Fendlesticks free escrow service, once I arrange it with him. His website: http://www.porndatabase.co.uk/buy-sxc/Just post your offers in this thread, and I'll PM you if I like your offer

WOW, huge hash jump. You guys ready to announce something?
10,000kh is me there is now a forum and I have paid for a 10,000 SXC giveaway with 90,000 more over the next few weeks we should join the p2p pool as there's no one there and is becoming hard to solo, making it hard for new miners to join. I'm going there now with 2 meg I need all the coins I can get as I am giving 1 block each to 1000 people you get the same coins regardless if solo or pooling. Its just for people with 4 or 500 k they'll see a block every few hours and end up giving up. Working pools are essential on a coin success totally not true you end up with less coins overall I have tested it many times with many coins and its a lot easyer to solo mine on multiple rigs as I already have it all set just 1 click Right now it only takes 40m to find a block with 500kh so its not to bad most pools are run by sleazy operators and I don't believe that is the case in here. At the current hash it will take you over 8 days to get those 1000 blocks. So good luck and hope no more miners join in attracted by the hash rise. I'll keep the p2p pool running to attract more miners Which Pool ?

Hi guys the sexcoin forum has been up over a week and am still waiting for your ok to make it public please let me know
Thanks
Zack
I'm on my first coffee and getting ready to post the zombie bonus. I knew it was going up but I didn't know it was done.. Yeap sure, go public.. I'll change the OP...

Nope... Lava is testing a client, and I'm waiting to hear back... once we fix the desync, and release it there's exchanges to talk to but .. No...
I just woke up to 34 M/H on the network... Unless some one know's something we don't...

Hmmmm Thinking of doing a few things, because at this point, I'm no technical help at all. Except with testing. Just have the miners site to tweak a bit and we won't be going live until it can't be confused with the official site.. I was thinking..
The "Zombie bonus" isn't being laid to rest as quickly as it once was.. might open up the movie quote part to just anybody.
and..
I've been hot to trot on a SXC motto contest since day one... we don't need it, and it might attract the odd troll, but I think it would be a hell of a lot of fun... so much so, I'm willing to put 6969 SXC on the table.. most popular motto wins by public vote, ends when it starts to run out of steam..
(Yes , I have no life) ..

I don't think putting up an exchange is easy, and I don't think anybody would go through all the effort just to run away with a small profit, when they could run it long term for a big profit..
I'd question this. Putting "an" exchange up is easy. phenixex.com (sp?) is next coming up, a week later. Small profit? 500 users * 0.35 BTC is significant, for a 1 week's worth of work. Erundook & co. would be wise to show up and explain if he is serious about running a reliable exchange. The site is not down at all, it is showing code 200. There is just no content. Hmmmm ... It looks like he's operating out of Europe.. It's a lazy sunday morning there... He's "involved" with at least with 15 pools, I'm guessing they are still up... And I'm wondering if there is no content, how you can give me the numbers of users and their average balance.. And I know a man looking to open an exchange but needing a helping hand, I'd love to hook him up with a serious code monkey like yourself.. I'm sure you can have it sorted in a few hours... and running perfectly without a beta.. PM me if you are willing to put your money where your mouth is... But you know, I don't have a dog in this fight, just wanted to reduce the FUD by pointing out that we don't know what is happening and it's a bit early to be jumping to conclusions... EDIT: (A) Just checked your previous posts Armchair, you need people to compile your binaries for you ? (B) And there we go, he grabbed sleep, which is a precious commodity for any developer.

Guys, it is in Beta.. and the simple truth is you can test your code to death, but until it hits the real world and runs for a while you can't be assured all the bugs are ironed out..
Thats why operating systems have regular updates for instance.. They aren't beta, but they still need patching..
We had a pool in Beta, and it took a week for a bug to show itself, the pool went down for quite awhile mainly because our overworked pool guy was getting some hard earned sleep..for once..
I don't think putting up an exchange is easy, and I don't think anybody would go through all the effort just to run away with a small profit, when they could run it long term for a big profit..
So If I was involved with the beta, I'd chillax and let the op do his thing...

And we have a winner !.. Well done that one was a bit more difficult than usual.. Normally I know the wallet addresses off the top of my head, I'm not sure of yours.. Post or PM it so I can send you your winnings.

Somebody said they were having trouble downloading the client, but didn't give details of from where they tried to download it from.. Probably github, occasionally it gives me grief, but it might pay to check thats everythings OK ...

... and its gone. Pool does not seem to exist any longer AND payment requests from days before it was taken down are not being honored by BigVern at Cryptsy. No word at all
Ewwwww .. that's not a good sign..I was a fan of Big Vern, he used to answer the questions of miners in his forum promptly, no matter how inane they were..

gr33k's pool's frontend was down for maintenance, he left an announcement in his 'news' section. Its back up now.
As far as the network hashrate, its always been up and down and I don't think this is any different. Its still healthy and the average is twice what it was two weeks ago.
Also, we are still working on a Mac build, and are beginning designing the architecture of a mobile client. These are a good bit off. If anyone has some experience with Mac builds, we need your help!
Well, don't I look stupid now , saw a dip and panicked.. Maxpower is the man for Mac builds...

I've come across https://coinex.pw/ which exchanges minor alt / digital coins into major (BTC / LTC) coins (and vice versa) - a major pitch to trade SXC would be that on that site you can bank your coins there and also mine on that site (currently no fee - no doubt that'll change) but it can be pitched to punters that they can buy BTC elsewhere then through https://coinex.pw/ make their purchases with SXC which won't show up on their wives credit card statements (or theirs) Taken from the CoinEx Thread:GoldCoin (GLD) is now listed. Mining pool is also up.
and when are you adding SXC? Perhaps it would be better to wait... Theres things I can't say, but everybody knows we are working on a new client. We've put our heads together and we want to give the new client features that a cryptonerd would find underwhelming, but the webcam girls we are now consulting with find quite useful and exciting. Anybody can bring out a coin, and beg an exchange to take it and have it listed in a few days. To create a coin that has utility, and therefore value in the real world takes a lot of work and forethought, and time in development. Last time I posted in this thread we were at 8.5M/h now we are at 12-15 M/h. We are growing not dying, and we are operating in a heavily saturated market space. We aren't in a hurry because being listed on the exchanges doesn't mean we've made it. We can build exchanges if we need them. Creating a great client and a buzz in the industry leading to real world adoption means we've made it. Here's the deal:At the moment I'm solo mining on rig four with the lastest client in alpha. It's the third sent to me for testing this week, and has changes from the last one that don't deal with problems, but deal with new features. Of course without proper testing for a while on a testnet, we can't be sure the problems are fixed. And we want a reputation for bringing out quality, hassle free updates. We don't need to approach the exchanges, I'm willing to risk my "Devship" and break ranks by telling you an exchange in alpha, and an exchange that is under development, have approached us. We want the new client and new logo out first. One of the workers that we contacted in the adult industry has also approached us in regard to setting up a site that uses SXC, but thats fendles call, right now he's moving residence. We promised a clean client, as far as we could get without a hardfork, and we delivered. We promised a pool, and put a p2pool thats so far been fair and reliable when the pool needed major recoding. We then delivered a pool that is monitored 24/7 in a datacenter by a human being, has not only battery backup, but generator backup, has been completely reworked to use accounting grade cross-method database block tracking and has a consistant backup schedule. It can take Gigahashes thrown at it. If you miners knew how many pools skip blocks and dump the proceeds into the operators purse, you'd be angry as hell. The U.S. courts consider crypto's money, and they'd probably consider the "PPLNS" payment schemes posted on those pools as legally binding agreements. God help the pool operator who is knowingly taking money from miners pockets and "laundering" it through exchanges they also own... Thats something we don't want to be associated with, and thats an example of how far we try to look ahead, even if it's not likely to be an issue. But I digress.. now we are working on the client and then we will work on inclusion on exchanges. It hasn't been easy, there's been allnight sessions getting things right, and real world things like jobs and families to attend to while fatigued. I keep saying we work hard, but I think most people dismiss it as PR. This weekend I was supposed to be finally spending quality time with my partner, instead I'm communicating to you, and she's heading off to a funeral without me. I guess the reason I'm divulging all of this when we have a "No coming soon" announcements policy, is I feel a little disappointed that the trust in our hardwork, honesty, dedication and longterm planning that we have tried to build hasn't made itself apparent. In fact gr33ks pool seems to have dissapeared and our hashrate is down to about 8 M/h. Though thats probably not unusaul considering the crapcoin, get rich quick, overhyped scam-ridden environment that prevades the cryptocommunity at the moment. I can't make people understand our values, I can't make people trust our judgement, I can't make people respect or recognise our hard work. But I can believe in what we are doing, I can put my money where my mouth is by keeping my hashrate on the network, and I can keep putting as much time and effort into the coin as possible. But there's only so much we can do in a day...

i like this coin. hope it will have success and gets stronger.
You aren't alone.. SXC is even pegged with Bottlecaps and is ranked at 17th most popular coin.. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=264016.msg2984683#msg2984683Thats out of a list of about 123 Coins, and just a few more votes would put it in the top ten. I'm just amazed it's outdoing so many other coins... (Recounted and Edited)
