yes van goth is dead, deceased, he can't rise up from the dead and paint a new mona lisa, therfore its understandable why the mona lisa is woeth that much, especially if you read up on van goths history, you can understand why it should be worth that much

That's silly. 8 year old kids in China copy van Gogh's work and if you put 49 of their paints and mixed in an authentic starry night, I couldn't pick out the real one. You can buy the replicas for $20 on ebay.

At this point, I am seriously doubting that you could pick it out either. By no means am I an art fanatic, but I could quickly tell you that Leonardo da Vinci painted the mona lisa, not Vincent van Gogh.

OP might be right, some levels are actually broken, if this is a bubble, we will know in the next couple of hours...

Bitcoin-central hacked.
Slush pool hacked.

Bitfloor closed by regulators.

The steam may be done for now.

Seems to me they are riding one of the carts on the "decentralized" train uninvited.

In regards to uninvited, they do have Jed McCaleb on the team...

Who started the largest centralized exchange for bitcoin? And where it is still unclear if he is directly responsible for the database leak?

Nobody has posted one of these pics in a while and stock prices dipped.

Here you go, going back up right now. lol

Eric (and everyone else who hosts something), just do it now, put your certificates and domain expiry dates into your calendar with an alert about 1 or 2 weeks before expiry.

Or ... you know just set your $1m+ annual revenue website's domain to auto-renew, which is offered by virtually any domain registrar. Or heck, spend 0.000001% of your profit, and pre-buy your domain registration for 10 years.

+1

+ another or two

lol. What's wrong with registering for multiple years. SEO likes that fact. Stick it on 10 years if you're in it for the long haul. It transfers out if you sell it. And stick it on auto renew.

Besides the fact that your regsitrar has been bugging you by email for months begging you to renew.

Can imagine selling carbon suits to marathoners in the future can become a profitable business.

Protect yourself from terrorist attacks, get your carbon suit today!

I think Kevlar is used for projectile protection...

Are you saying that since this is not kevlar it will not be as good for protection, or are you saying that this will protect against projectiles not explosions, or are you agreeing with the previous statement? What are you saying??? Finish your damn sentence!

I would consider an explosion throwing metal junks necessary of projectile protection. And would say that a layer or two of carbon fiber isn't going to do shit in an explosion. In a II or IIIa rated vest, you have dozens of layers of kevlar.

looks like share price is dropping back down...  Grin

people selling while they can.

Already sold Cheesy

Might be the only time I've ever timed this crap right. Make up for some sdice losses.

So, if you are unverified, we are talking a week + to initiate the transfer? Or are they going to mad dash approve these for withdrawal ?
531  Other / Off-topic / Re: tinfoil hat? screw that! CARBON FIBER baby! on: April 18, 2013, 04:47:38 PM
ouuuch! Thought the autoclave was the expensive bit and wasn't needed for lower strength items, the 300 is for the fiber and resin?

75 or so a yard for the carbon used, and it's four layers, so yea. and didn't use an autoclave or any heat. class shop lacks them. an epoxy resin, and a vacuum bag for pressure, though.

532  Economy / Services / Re: Apple iPhone Factory Unlocking - Best Prices - Fastest Service on: April 18, 2013, 02:01:58 PM
I just bought one from this guy via PM's to unlock my AT&T iPhone 4 32GB, I will report back if he's legit and if it worked. Wink

Edit: Well I am an idiot. Turns out my iPhone was unlocked this whole time, but I never checked. Yay me. -_-

It's double unlocked then. Guess a good thing to do if you want to unlock your phone is check it first if you bought it on craigslist or eBay. If it's your own, you probably know if it is or not.
533  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitfloor issues? on: April 18, 2013, 01:45:20 PM
i didn't get this email... why not?

That's actually a good question.

It was said the e-mail would be sent out in small grouops so as not to completely disrupt the market @ bitfloor, but it seems like alot of people didn't get notified.

Did you have a USD balance? Maybe they only notified people with a USD balance, or maybe only if you have a BTC balance or something. Not sure, but I got the e-mail 8am.

Same for me, had a USD balance, no email.

I see their message on twitter about pleae withdraw by ACH.

https://twitter.com/bitfloor

What about those that didn't have their account verified? We have to verify it now? Or will they just ACH the funds out?
534  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitfloor issues? on: April 17, 2013, 11:45:12 PM
I put this in the noob forum but...

Why did only a few get the email? I guarantee if I had seen that message I would have been buying coins at any price. Of course the ones that got it ended up sticking some with fiat in there... Sad
535  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BITFLOOR WEBSITE!!!??? on: April 17, 2013, 11:43:31 PM
I sure find it interesting that SOME people got emails saying they were closing, and most didn't.

I can guarantee I would have been buying BTC for $200 a pop to get the cash out of there. Some is better than none.
536  Economy / Speculation / Re: We might have hit the bottom on: April 16, 2013, 04:12:27 PM
Hey guys,

A slight divergency between the price action and mac-d may indicate that the current correction is near its bottom. Closing above the 24hr simple average (around 75 in this chart) may confirm this end of the correction.

Sure was nice to pick up a few more coins in the low $50's. I day dream of cheaper than that but I'll take what I can get. If any bears want to sell them for $50 or less I'm buying Smiley
537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rare address hall of fame on: April 15, 2013, 09:20:26 PM
The bitcoin address is hash, right? Is it possible to create a legal address without doing the hash? (not using a seed number) And if I send coins to this address - will the transaction be confirmed. And will I ever be able to get those coins?

Way off topic. But yes, you can create a valid address without knowing the private key. You can send coins to it, and it will be confirmed if it is a real transaction. And no, you will never be able to retrieve those coins. They are lost forever.

Two examples of those are mentioned in the first post.

Those are valid addresses. You can see people have destroyed bitcoins by sending them to those addresses.

is this cool?

1ABCDEFGhSGyyACty7gXC4PvKwjjMEsdVq

You didn't even put that in the block chain.

and someone already has this one https://blockchain.info/address/1ABCDEFGHTs4DtPSNch45cmp3BsDdQP8SV

All upper case, and a-h, and that is the one that has first bits.

If you want to beat that, go a-i and get it in the block chain.

check it out.

just made a transacation and put it in the chain, don't want to beat anyone, just feel it kinda cool, thanks for letting me know someone's good job.

Your first bits are http://blockchain.info/fb/1abcdefghs

Not too cool, and the one I mentioned is A-H all caps, not a small h...

Very interesting, makes me wish I had a fun/rare address Tongue

Makes me wish having the time to look at all my addresses 1 by 1 to try and find these kind of patterns lol

lol, I don't look at them one by one to find cool ones, I use vanity gen and specifically search for these patterns.
