there are a number of reasons why - and soopy knows the full extent of it ...

soopy and i have worked side by side on a few things - especially granite droidz ...

@soopy ... once again soopy - the conversation we had on pm has gone by the wayside ...

its been 3days - hence why i do and say the things i do and say ...

there is no 'granite is next' soopy ... it has never been nor ever will be 'next' ...

promises are made to be kept - not broken ...

@raven - there are too many thing that are happen in the background - and too many different promises / actions that have occurred - for me to be silent about this ...

how can my team and i be a part of system that continues to sway so easily from side to side - because its so desperate for development? ...

i was given the go ahead by you and halo - and now soopy is 'back' - things have reverted back to the way they were? ... no tanx - that is a very weak way of doing things - and a very weak way of making 'deals' ... which also means that your word is no more of a bond than the so called cohesion that this community is displaying ...

i KNOW what will happen now - and KNOW what the outcome of this will be ... look at the droidz ( the latest one ) thread and read up on the similarities ... as well as pex and loco and a few others ...

this way of working is a disgusting display of how one should NEVER behave - as with other coins mentioned like droidz ...

#crysx

Reminder: Soopy is in a unique position here at OC, the arrangement was he would fix and maintain our code, and if he could (based on available time or ability), he'd provide more like Masternodes. His official title is: Consultant Developer & Technical Advisor, OP Access. This leans towards a temporary dev title along the lines of if OC code had problems, we consult soopy to fix them, OR if we wanted a feature, we could consult him to see if it would be easy or a project to incorporate, while allowing him the chance to chime in or implement those features. His "baby" is NAV, that's where he's a full dev. Other than the non-delivery on his public post promises concerning anything more than OC code maintenance, he's doing what he said he would for us.

Like you said, soopy is 'back', but it was news to (at least) me when he posted that. Soopy has not been in contact with me for a long time (months and months and months) via PM's or anywhere else, save for the public convo's in the thread for all to read. He didn't say anything prior to release about what he was doing with this new update. Frustrating, but not the end of the world but only since I saw his post quick enough to get everything updated within a enough of a timely fashion before it could reflect back on us all for not having everything updated.

I think he has too much going on (hence maybe why he mislabeled his own OC github link?), and all coins that he's involved in might/will suffer because of the lack of time he can invest per coin.

I'd just like to see someone or a team work OC. The community is not demanding a full time gig from anyone but we need more than what's been served in ways of actual development. If you wanted, you could fork it and soopy would be out -- if by chance you couldn't work together. Simple as that. No hard feelings or "digs" towards soopy when I say that either, but I'm thinking it would alleviate some of his "workload" so he could focus on his other coins, again, if you couldn't work together.

Soopy's absence isn't the driving force to finding another dev or "talent" as I often say. He wasn't meant to stay with OC forever unless he wanted to, which he had the option.

firstly - that is NOT what was pm'ed me not so long ago - and NOT what has happened ... or is it easier to quote the pms? ...

secondly - there is NEVER a time that soopy and i cannot work with each other ... i have a LOT of respect for soopy as a person and a LOT of respect for him as a dev ... as for his reliability? ... well ...

there is MUCH more to this than is publicly shown - and soopy KNOWS the extent to which he and i have dealt - and have continued to deal ... i pull NO punches - never have and never will ... i say things as i see them and will NEVER change that ... had there been an equitable system put in place - there would be no one pushing and shoving and praising ... but as there is no system in place - your suggestion of my forking the source and working on it - is a blatant misrepresentation of what WE ( raven and i )  had discussed earlier with your apparent knowledge halofire  ... especially with regards to my involvement ... the time and effort and money involved in doing this RIGHT - is more than i or my team was willing to do without some form of compensation and / or affiliation or complete takeover ... THAT was the bottom line ... and what was teh response raven gave me in return to it? ... read back on the pms and refresh your memory mate - or ask for a copy from raven ...

which ever way this works now - it is entirely up to you all HOW you deal with this ... its no skin off my nose ... i just dont like the miscommunication AND the false representations of myself and my team - and the things that were and were NOT said ...

if soopy WANTS to work with me on this - he can ... but the garbage about him being 'just' a consultant and he could return anytime he felt and the rest of the blurb - was NEVER brought to my attention here in the thread NOR in private ...

im astounded at what has transpired ... and STILL you continue on about it all being an open discussion and praising soopy about his coming 'back' ... seriously mate! ...

i deal - and work - and make clean and DO the things i say im going to do ... so far - its simply talk - and nothing but ... so let it be just that ... and there will be no hard feelings anywhere ... but when the cookie crumbles and all is stagnant once again - just remeber this situation and what you have said and NOT said ...

im still open for discussion - but not at this level ...

@soopy - stick to what you say and what you promise mate ... too many people of the communities you deal with RELY on your word - and your word as a gentleman ...

you KNOW how i work soopy - raven and halo dont ... and ill continue to work the same as i have - and we have grown much bigger than when you first dealt with me ... deal clean - deal well ...

and much respect - to you and all that deserve it ...

Welcome back.

One thing I noticed, the github link you provided is not OC's, that I have ever seen anyway. The date for the last commit (change) on that git was 4 months prior to OC original dev's initial commit in 2014.
The original devs git was here: https://github.com/Orangecoins/Orangecoin
Yours was here: https://github.com/sherlockcoin/Orangecoin

Oops my bad mate , it should be :

I've updated my initial post to rectify this.

Please update accordingly.

Soop,

I appreciate it...And thank you for the well wishes.

AND again thank you!

But it seems nothing from Theymos yet. Can anyone help a fellow out and vouch for my authenticity to Theymos, or know of another moderator? But then again I know bothering him\them might have repercussions , such as not getting the account back...

quite an interesting concept - ill be watching the progress ...

i do wonder though - that if the coin was more 'popular' - that the demand would lend itself the production of gpu miners ...

nothing is ultimately impossible in this day and age - its just a matter of whether its worth the time and effort involved ...

I am sure that you are right, but unfortunately there are very few of us left who keep the blockchain alive.

well - im interested ...

Any proof for these claims?
Last I saw was 200MH per 6 cards with absurd overclock. How long will these cards survive?

those are new gpu, they can sustain higher overclock, check about the possibility with pascal they can be pushed easily to 1800 core and more

the same for amd 480x

the proof is one guy doing it in the ethereum(complete guide and anything) forum under linux only for the moment, but soon it should be possible under windows

complete guide? ...

do you have the link please mate? ...

one area im building with it is the development side - which means i can now start dabbling with the ubuntu / windows / 'exotic' mining arena - cpu / gpu / asic ... and possibly fpga if wolf would be willing to come on board Wink ...

but that is months down the track ...

x11 asics are the first part of the asic testing ... but under windows based systems - we will have a for testbeds to see what all this fuss is about with eth and such ...

Here is my Dribbble https://dribbble.com/bpdesign

I'de like to create a team with skilled JS developer with 2/3h free per day to launch different projects on LISK like rebuild real projects (Aribnb, Twitch.tv, ...).
I can also use bootstrap to integrate my designs for more efficiency.

Let me know by PM.

we would be happy to look at what we could to to help you along - outside of js ...

our ecosystem that is currently being built is a solid base and can offer much for the infrastructure that may be required for such projects ...

zpool is zpool.

if you need direct mining, the same engine, first that comes to mind is http://yiimp.ccminer.org/
i guess Epsylon3 can take care of this coin if asked, mmmmaybe

they are the same codebase - just epsylon3 has just switched off the 'exchange' backend ...

and he is also the one that is currently the main developer for this code - which is based on the original yaamp code that he forked ...

he uses it more as his testbed for algos for his fork of ccminer-tpruvot - and for mining the more involved things he has ( like decred ) ...

and as a large wallet also - its fantastic for that Wink ...

Yiimp already has joincoin on whirlpool. It doesn't work for me, though: all rejects. The same miner works fine on solo mining to the wallet.
You can use my pool, http://coinspool.cu.cc/
Algo: whirlcoin (not whirlpoolx!)

Elbandi

if you remeber a while back - i approached to chat about a certain 'thing' ...

these pools were it ...

i would be VERY interested in finding out how to get the backend of the stratums done ...

if you are willing to share ...

i know you have a great deal of experience with nodejs and unomp - but the 'how' is more to the point of what i would like to get at - so that is can be done on more than just the debian based installs that so many people 'think' is just linux ...

i have both - but more interested in centos 7 x64 ( or moreover - redhat based rhel systems ) ...

nomp / unomp just refuses to work properly - as most of the base instructions / information are for ubuntu / debian ...

so share if you will please mate ... here or in private for a deal to be made if necessary ...

mind you - still want to get the python stratum running - so id be very interested in knowing how - or even an uptodate custom version being built ...

Yep can do all of that and more
I own and run a hosting company so nodes pools etc are not an issue
I'll do free hosting for any Dev work required for joincoin just let me know what you need
And I'll get it sorted out.

just don't try to make a quark pool for J lol

Why not? Besides, there already is at least one: zpool.

On www.zpool.ca I have join running on algos: nist5, quark, scrypt, sha256, x11, x13 and x15

care to share on how you have set it up ?

nothing special, just separate instances for each algo...
how did you do that ?

To run multiple instances on the same machine, you need to use my fork and point tor of the additional daemons to the first one.

ok ill need some help setting that up then please

thanks
Paul

See this post:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1318397.msg13859935#msg13859935

the great thing about the yiimp ( originally yaamp - before he released it opensource ) is that it is a multipool that is reasonable efficient ...

the draw back to this pool - and it seems its the ONLY drawback that i can see - is that it is a 'mining' pool ...

this essentially means that the miners on the pool work as a collaborative mining system for the different coins supported on the pool ... this in turn means that if you mine directly FOR a coin ( using c=j for example ) - and the pool itself does not have the collaborative mining effort FOR joincoin - then the payout of the coin will be delayed due to 'not enough coins to payout' - and the payout will be delayed until the coin is mined some more ...

for low volume coins - this could mean a few hours to a few days before the payout is given ...

unlike mpos pools for example ( NOT multipool like zpool is ) - a single coin is mined and accumulated - and if it has confirmed - can be paid out at the miners behest ...

there are pros and cons for all forms of pools - so im not debating which is better or worse ... but i am mentioning this - as i have been in situations many times before where i have had to wait many days for payment on low mined coins ...

btw - zpool is one of the main pools 'thefarm' mines at - and since it will be fully functional again in the coming weeks - will be one of the pool we will frequent ... always a pleasure crackers Wink ...

If you can merge the missions of Earthcoin and EvergreenCoin that would be so awesome, since both coins overlap in what they want to accomplish. It also just kind of seems like the 2 could fit nicely together. The algorithms though I think are different and I don't know about the practicality of it. It was just a thought that crossed my mind. I like both anyways.

if there is any form of idea that is based on collaboration - let alone merger - then it is something that can only ever be considered if it is a viable venture ...

of course - the complexities of such things as this are enormous as is the planning and execution ...

steven has never mentioned any form of merger that i know of - but has always been an advocate of a greener more peaceful world ...

in any case - the egc project has now stabalized from what we have seen - and the seeds are running smooth with little fuss ... stable - as they should be ...

we will keep an close eye on them anyway - but so far so good ...

533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: June 29, 2016, 07:47:32 AM
hi all ...

i have been trying to put together a couple of quark pools built on mpos and stratum-mining / stratum ( python ) - and the error that plagues this setup is an rpc type of error for block updating ...

i have been told a few times that running a nomp or unomp backend for stratum will work with the newer bitcoin based coins - but that is not the aim of the project we have undertaken for the suite of products in our ecosystem ...

is there anyone out there that CAN help with the python stratum issue of reading these newer daemons and working alongside them? ...

if so - please message me and we can definitely work something out ...

the unomp pool project is part of our project base also - but it is a completely different area and project system altogether ...

so help with the python stratum side will be very much appreciated ...

the quark based pools ( mpos / python stratum ) is the current one we are on - and even though the pools are currently internal and at alpha stage in testing - we will probably open them to the public for beta testing in a couple of weeks time ...

the pool system ( not necessarily these pools or any specific build of pool ) will be permanent fixtures in our ecosystem - hence the reason why we want to alpha and beta test them to their fullest extent ... as well as build the different structures ( mpos - unomp - yiimp - others ) for pools and create an array of systems to work with - so that the best method of mining can be simplified into a unified mining system ...

this also mean that those pools that become a permanent fixture within the permanent pool structure of our ecosystem - will have the accompanying support structure also ... ie - nodes - block explorers - stats - etc ... so if the devs of the coin wish to hardcode the nodes into the system - it can be done so via dns ( as we setup FULL nodes for all our projects ) - so no more 'addnode' and 'connect' issues ... it will connect directly and sync the moment you open the wallet ...

we have a new thread shortly with all the details of our own projects - and the projects we support ...

this of course will be under our umbrella of projects we currently have running ...

any help and paid work is very welcome and negotiable ...

Is someone recording this?

edit: anyone still have any doubts about Max being a CEO here? Wow I definitely wasn't so mature and professional at 24. The guy is in the right place.

Will be uploaded later, will tweet the link. Thanks for your support, I still have a lot to learn. Especially to pitch Lisk and being myself in these live interviews. Talking person to person I really can express what I want to say with a lot of charm, but it's quite hard to do in a live interview over the internet. Not sure why, I probably just need more training. Smiley

Hello Max

Nice to see the work you re doing on Lisk!
I have no doubt, that it will be big, if you keep up the good work!

But a suggestion, if you are not used to being on the media, you can buy media training. This would benefit both you and lisk, if you used some of the ico´s on training.

Yes, thank you for the suggestion. I will probably make use of it once in Berlin. Speech training, startup training, public appearance, maybe even English. Personally, I see Lisk as a huge growth curve. I know I have the intelligence (as arrogant as this sounds) and just need the proper training for the different stuff. Smiley

I don't think that Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, or Mark Zuckerberg knew everything since the beginning of their companies. Entrepreneurs grow with their companies.

I totally agree. You will learn new things everyday!

But i admire the way you are handling the company! Lots of people could already learn alot from both you and oliver

Alle the best from me! See you on the moon Wink

Thanks, means a lot to me! Smiley Once in Berlin I think we will setup monthly Lisk meetups so that people can really know more about us. Wink

part of the growth of any entrepreneur is more than 'just' learning through activity - like public speaking lessons and english lessons ... the biggest most hard part of the entire 'lesson' of growth is LISTENING ... keeping your mouth shut at times you just dont want to - and listening to those that actually have something to say - no matter how trivial it may seem at the time ... some of the most important details are missed because they seem to be the most trivial at the time - and because you just dont listen to them ...

all the people you mentioned earlier - are just that ... people ...

they are all still going through learning - and even though some are not humble - they admit to the one thing that makes them successful - listening ... they know how to focus - and so will you ... if you really want to make a success of yourself - before any 'real' success comes of anything you intend to accomplish ...

well done - from starting from 'thin air' ( ie - ideas ) to making the inroads to a real system ...

ill be watching closely how you fit in - and what it is you do ... and working ( ie - listening ) very intently on the way things are done ...

I'm in :-)
I can provide development for the wallet and the miners.

i can help with infrastructure and solid reliable systems for hardcoded seednodes and some help with code ( though very little - especially compared to pallas Wink hehehe ) ...

also setting up a pool base currently - so can also help with mining 'inhouse' ... amongst other things of course ...

done grumpy ...

and tanx ...

we will be amalgamating all these threads - into the one umbrella - digitaldzyne ( unless we can think of a btter name that CAN be registered on domains and business registrations ) ...

soon ... very very soon ...

hmmmm i like digital dzyne i like to come up with wierd names just for fun based on what i read in the thread so far

crypto umbrella
thecrypto umbrella
cryptoconnect
granite plus

 Huh Tongue

always good to hear the thoughts and ideas of the community ...

it needs to be something that encompasses what we do ( as 'theteam' ) with development and collaboration - as well as mining - infrastructure and support for the ecosystem thats being built ...

and also needs to be able to be registered in many domains as well ... as it will be starting under a small business name - that will be incorporated at a later date ...

so the umbrella name has to cover all these factors and a couple more - like it needs to be easy to pronounce and reproduce ...both verbally and visually ...

a 'roll-off-the-tongue' description of what we are and what we do ... or as close as we can get to it ...

tanx for the ideas ...
