521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are the Altcoins Going to Dip in Short Term? on: March 19, 2024, 05:18:32 PM
My dilemma is, should I sell now, wait for the short-term pull back, go back in and sell in the long term, or is this a foolish sentiment?
I suggest you to sell 50% of your holdings and keep 50% for the high intensity of the bull run. The market is slowly recovering form the correction and I'm sure if it continues then things will be good once again and the market will go for another pump.

However, if it starts dumping then still you'll be safe from value drops because you have sold 50% of your holdings at good rate. You can utilize those funds again for accumulating more amount of the altcoins which will be much better in value during the high intensity of the bull run. In that sense you're in a win-win situation.

Welcome to the amazing forum, here you'll learn everything about Bitcoin. You may first read the rules of the forum to get more familiar with the things that are allowed and things that aren't allowed. After that you may begin your learning journey by reading topics of Bitcoin Discussion board, Beginners & Help board, and Speculation board.

You may additionally read some good books related to Bitcoin, but if you're active on this forum and read topics in those boards then you may not have to read books. Ask any questions when you don't find any topic on this forum, the search function of the forum doesn't work well and that's why I recommend you to use Google to search for the topics that are present in this forum.

In order to search topics of the forum you may do Google tricks like "site:bitcointalk.org Bitcoin wallets." You can replace the "Bitcoin wallets" with topic of your choice. You'll get many threads of the forum that discuss the topic of search but if you still don't find it then you may create your own topic and ask members of the forum about that thing.
523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 0x.bet Online casino on: March 19, 2024, 11:53:52 AM
You are new member and that's why I welcome you to the forum. However, we aren't aware of 0x.bet and the review that you wrote isn't much informative either. I suggest you to contact 0x.bet team and tell them about this forum.

You may also tell them to make their official announcement thread of this forum, and after that the members of the forum may get interested in that casino. It's not easy to trust new casinos and most gamblers avoid playing on new casinos.

But, if 0x.bet makes their announcement thread on this forum and also spends some money on advertising then they might get attention of some players otherwise I don't think that any member of this forum would join that casino.
524  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trying to get into a Signature campaign... on: March 19, 2024, 11:47:15 AM
This is the sig I'm trying to set up:
You can't set any signature yet because you're a newbie member of the forum and in order to get accepted in a signature campaign you'll have to reach full member rank first.

You'll have to be active member of the forum for four to five months and make at least 1-2 posts per day to get required activity to be eligible for full member rank.

Even if you get required activity you'll still not be a full member unless you get at least 100 merits. If you reach 120 activity and get 100 merits then you'll be a full member of the forum.

Once you become a full member of the forum then you can apply in signature campaigns that accept minimum full member rank.
525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it? on: March 19, 2024, 11:37:34 AM
Is this true gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it?
Both of the statements are not true, gambling is a place where lucky ones make money and the unlucky ones lose money. That's a better statement, and I believe all those who have made money with gambling believe that and all those who have lost money with gambling also believe that statement. In online gambling the ones who are very lucky can beat the house edge and make money while majority of members don't have powerful luck and that's why they end up losing money in gambling.

If someone's luck is really good then that person can earn jackpots in online gambling while the ones with weak luck often end up getting addicted to gambling because of consistent losses. So, in the end it's someone's luck that makes him a winner or loser in gambling. Someone with a good luck can generate money from online gambling and he/she can withdraw that money without issues. While the ones with weak luck often lose money in online gambling.

526  Other / Meta / Re: The administration of bitcointalk. on: March 19, 2024, 11:24:22 AM
Satoshi's main creation was Bitcoin not this forum. He created the forum on source forge only to share updates about the Bitcoin and it's initial features. Satoshi never invested most of his time on this forum and that's why he created less then 600 posts overall. Your information about Sirius is also not correct. He's not anonymous like Satoshi Nakamoto, you can even see his profile on Twitter now X. He has done enough for Bitcoin and for this forum and now he's doing other things. it's his life and it's his own choice.

Theymos and Cyrus are the current admins of the forum, and they are doing their job in the best way possible. As far as I know, Cyrus is daily active on this forum, and he's the one who moves wrong posts from one board to other. If they haven't meet Satoshi then what's wrong with that? Not only them but nobody has ever meet Satoshi Nakamoto in real and that's why he's still anonymous till this day. You should just relax and stop thinking too much. The forum is in hands of good people who know what they are doing, and we as members of the forum are satisfied from the decisions of the admins of the forum.
527  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It is not to late, but how do I get established with BTC and the community? on: March 19, 2024, 10:40:38 AM
Welcome to the forum, it's the best place for you to start with Bitcoin. if you want to be established member of this community then you'll have to learn about Bitcoin. I suggest you to read topics of Bitcoin discussion, Beginners & Help, and Speculation board.

Those boards contain enough information about Bitcoin and once you have learnt basic information about Bitcoin then you can create your own threads and ask about the aspects of Bitcoin that you don't understand by reading other posts.

Overtime, you'll start getting better and better and if you start contributing good information then other members will appreciate your posts with merits. In order to rank on this forum you'll have to earn merits. Those members who make helpful posts get the merits which will help them to rank up. You can learn more about ranks and merits by reading this thread.
528  Other / Meta / Re: Poll: Colored Text Usage in Forum Posts on: March 18, 2024, 08:31:09 PM
I selected "I do not support it" option of the poll. The reason is simple, the more posts we see in color the more we will get annoyed. And, when it comes to text formatting then you can check Halab's post to see how confusing it could be if someone uses wrong type of text in his/her posts.

I think it's normal to use colored text in reviews sometimes and in announcement threads or review + signature campaigns if the color helps to match the theme of the platform. However, in normal posting, use of colors can be quite confusing to many users.
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can you and I benefit? on: March 18, 2024, 07:21:12 PM
I don't really know anything about exchange shops but if you have access to internet then you may be able to exchange your USDT to its original rate.

Don't accept such offers, you may try decentralized exchanges like BISQ to P2P trade your crypto-currencies for a proper rate or you may try centralized exchanges that are available in Gaza.

Another thing I would like to tell you is to move this topic to another board because it's not related to Bitcoin and it should not be in Bitcoin discussion board.
530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Fire Your Best Employee Who Is Addicted To Gambling ? on: March 18, 2024, 05:37:55 PM
Please vote and let me know what you think.
I voted "No" because I don't want to lose an employee who is addicted to gambling. in fact, I will try my best to support him/her to get rid of that addiction. Let's say if your own brother is addicted to gambling then will you throw him out of your house because he's an addict or you'll support him to get rid of that addiction?

Your answer will always be that you'll support him to get rid of that addiction. If you do that for your brother then you should do same for your employee. Even, if he/she is unable to give up on gambling still you should not fire that employee if he/she has a good moral character and he/she does good for your company.
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The severing of international Internet cables. on: March 18, 2024, 05:31:08 PM
I believe we already have good alternative which is Starlink.
How many investors in bitcoins can really afford the Starlink? and its monthly subscription?
If you ask about investors then most of the investors who earn more than $1000 per month can afford it if they keep their expenses minimum. The cost of per month subscription is around $120 at the moment but someone can further reduce the cost by sharing it with others.

Let's say if 4 neighbors need internet in a country where internet is poor then all four of them can contribute $30 per month to enjoy fast satellite internet. What if instead of 4 neighbors 8 neighbors contribute for that? The cost will be $15 per person for a fast internet connection.

I'm very sure that for a fast connection many of us would spend $15 per month without thinking twice. However, the initial cost of $600 could be an issue which can also be reduced for each person if 8 of them contribute $75 for the first month of having that type of internet facility.

532  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Most secure wallet / hardware wallet for long term storage 2024 ? on: March 18, 2024, 05:19:31 PM
I've had a few various wallets over the years, but was wondering what the consensus is currently?
Electrum is the wallet that you should consider. It's the safest wallet for storing your Bitcoin for long-term. But, you may go with Electrum as cold wallet. A cold wallet is much safe for long-term storing of your Bitcoin than a hot wallet.

Some people believe that you should never connect to internet even for a once on the system where you store your cold wallet. While others believe that you may connect to internet during wallet creation and once it's created then you should disconnect it forever from internet to have facilities of cold wallet.

With the help of electrum you can do both of those but I prefer you to go with offline one as that's a little bit more safe for you. Here's a guide that you read in order to create an electrum offline wallet. The software based cold wallet would be more than enough to safely store your Bitcoin for long term.

533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop adding features to Bitcoin that don't facilitate its use as electronic cash on: March 18, 2024, 05:11:10 PM
These days most people rather consider Bitcoin as a safe asset for investment purpose rather than a electronic cash. There are many other crypto-currencies that can be used better for the purpose of payments than Bitcoin due to its high fees. You can't convince everyone to consider it as an electronic cash anymore.

Even if you read wall observer thread of this forum then you'll find that most of the OG's consider Bitcoin as an asset rather than a payment system. They believe in holding it for the long-term to earn profits with each bull run. So, considering Bitcoin as P2P payment gateway alone would not be a wise choice these days.
534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Soo, bitcoin is now over 70K on: March 18, 2024, 04:42:20 PM
I think you can consider how important it is to have a personal wallet if you have crypto assets. Don't put it on an exchange or in a casino.
Very true, keeping one's crypto assets like Bitcoin on exchange's or casino's wallet is always a risky thing. It's always preferable to have your own personal wallet where you control the keys. It's a common saying in crypto world that "Not your keys not your coins," and if someone knows that then they will never keep their crypto assets in an exchange's custodial wallet or a casino's custodial wallet.

Only those who aren't aware of such thing may trust an exchange or a casino with their assets. Such people will always regret their decisions because it's not worth it to keep your own assets in someone else's control. Be your own boss and keep your assets in your own wallets then you will never regret, and whenever you want to sell your assets for a profit, you can do that without someone else's permission.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does pragmatic play bonus buy really worth it? on: March 18, 2024, 01:18:17 PM
No, I don't think that the Pragmatic play's bonus buy is worth it at all. It's just waste of your funds and nothing else.

It's only worth it if your luck favors you in those games but if your luck is not favoring you with Pragmatic Play games then buying of box is waste of money.
536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The severing of international Internet cables. on: March 18, 2024, 01:13:55 PM
I don't think internet connection is a major problem for BTC users, i know BTC cannot function without the internet, but other than some areas in some third world countries that lack electricity and internet connection, most bitcoiners can connect to the network just fine. If the issue of faster payments is raised, then i believe what we should be discussing is scalability solutions.
Without a good internet connection Bitcoin users will face some issues. Internet cables are most important for everyone who is using internet and if those undersea cables start getting affected then the whole communication system will be non-responsive. Those cables are planted undersea and because of them we are able to use internet effectively, even wireless internet is dependent on such cables. I'm talking about traditional wireless internet setups like 3G, 4G, and 5G.

I believe we already have good alternative which is Starlink. It could be a good alternative for us when the cable issues make internet communications slow or not responsive. Starlink works via Satellite and it's not dependent on those undersea internet cables. It also works well in remote areas, the only problem with Starlink is the high cost of the connectivity. Starlink's connections are fast with low latency and that can be useful for transactions when traditional networks get slow or they stop working fully. I believe the Starlink could be another good alternative when traditional networks stop responding due to cable severing.
537  Other / Meta / Re: I need a glue on how to get merit on: March 17, 2024, 09:52:24 PM
My simple and straight-forward suggestion to you is that only try to focus on making good posts. As long you're making good posts, merits will start coming to you. Some members who have established themselves and got a good reputation and trust in this forum may get more merits while others may get fewer merits but as long as someone keeps posting good information then the chance of having merits is always there.

So my suggestion to you is that you may make posts on daily basis and read other reputed members posts to learn valuable information. You may also learn valuable information from books and other credible online sources and then focus on making good and useful posts. You'll start getting many merits on monthly basis and then on weekly basis and maybe a day comes when you mat get many merits on daily basis. Best of luck!

Welcome to the forum, first of all I suggest you to go for Cooper Membership which will be much helpful for your announcement thread. After becoming a Cooper Member you'll be able to embed images in your thread and from the statistics it has been proven that the graphical announcement threads are much more attractive and helps a lot a platform.

I also suggest you to have a review program for your site, because a platform like that needs some good reviews in order to stand out. In fact I believe a review program will be much helpful for you, I'm interested in reviewing your platform, if you really offer such good results then it would be a pleasure to share my genuine feedback about your platform.

540  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi I'm New Here, hope I'm welcomed. on: March 17, 2024, 04:37:32 PM
Welcome to this amazing forum, on this forum you'll learn a lot of Bitcoin. Just follow the advice of PX-Z by reading the rules of the forum as that would be helpful for you. I would recommend you to read as many topics in Bitcoin discussion board as possible and also try to read some topics in speculation board.

Other than that I would recommend you to read topics in Meta board if you want to learn more about the forum, and finally I recommend you to be present on Beginners & Help board to learn basics about Bitcoin. The forum is more than enough for you to learn about Bitcoin, just read the posts carefully and ask questions when you don't understand something. Best of luck!
