521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.0 (Windows/Linux) on: April 22, 2017, 03:44:15 PM
hey,
thanks for having me here.
I've got an issue that I saw other people have on the ethereum forum but none of the solutions I've heard (so far) being suggested so far apply to me.

I've got a setup: windows 10 with Gigabyte 970A-DS3P, 1000W gold psu and 2x470 + 2x480 . All of them stock for now until i get this stable enough. Running all with usb raisers.
I'm using 16.9.1 because the one recommended apparently is not good for the new 4xx's, and with this I've managed to run the miner for 8-9 hours to 11 hours continuously. (using all the DDU workflow etc to make sure it's all cleaned up).
Claymore v9 with etherminer.
Temperatures are all @72-79C with fans running 35-55% on average.
The 470's run on 21-22mh/s and 480's on 24-25.5mh/s as expected from stock I believe.

It all runs well until at one point the miner hangs (as I see on etherpage, the worker is inactive). The moment I remote in, and click in the terminal, it seems to come back and realize it's been idle for at least an hour, and restarts itself. If I don't click on the terminal it can keep hanging on forever.
Here's my log

edit : saw the above post, will try switching from 16.9.1 and running 16.11.5 overnight

Nowhere near that sound.  This is 70db and like a deep sound

Which Speed do you get on dual mining? like DCR

I heard at least one or two people say they don't wanna dual mine on the pandas because it may shorten the lifespan of the gpus

Hello folks,

Those of you reading this thread and running any model of Baikal ASIC miners – would you please be so kind to share your personal recommendations on what pool it's best to mine and what algo/coin. I'm waiting for my Cube to arrive and the best idea I've got so far is to sell its hash power with X11 on NiceHash. I'm sure there are better and more profitable solutions that that, though! Please share your view and tips.

Sincerely,
Oleg

I'm mining x11 dash at suprnova but i heard https://www2.coinmine.pl/ was better for dcr and maybe dash. MUE looked the most profitable last time i checked

what do u mean as "better" for dash ?

May be more consistent with the reported hashrate (I read this from someone who switched from suprnova to coinmine for dcr)

529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [UPDATE] RX480 (Ref) 31+Mh, Custom Rom - VDDC OFFSET + Custom timing on: April 19, 2017, 08:59:00 PM
Having some issues with a Power Color Red Dragon RX 480 8GB found here:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131704

I've tried the 30Mh, 32, and the low power ROMS. The first problem is that they were all 512kb, where my bios is only 256kb. My fix was to use polaris bios editor and copy the exact voltage, clock, and memory timings into a duplicate copy of my stock bios. None of these worked and windows just crashed.

I've tried the ROMs posted here:
http://1stminingrig.com/best-bios-rom-sapphire-nitro-rx-480-8gb-oc-mine-ethereum-30-mhs/

I've tried pretty much all of the ROMs created by boysie
https://forum.ethereum.org/profile/discussions/17803/boysie

There are also some ROMs posted at anorak.tech that I've tried that were specifically for this card:
https://anorak.tech/t/anoraks-vbios-collection-optimized-settings-for-performance-power-saving/13/3

None of these have worked. For now, I've flashed back to stock because I can at least get ~24mh/s.

Anything I'm missing? I'm very new to mining and coming off of a success high of getting my MSI RX 480 4GB from 22mh/s to 29mh/s.
EDIT: Adding more information. Pool mining using Claymore. Just testing with ethereum only mining. I've also tried multiple drivers. Pretty much every iteration from 16.7 to 16.11 and then the 17.x, even though those aren't supposed to be able to run on custom ROMs.

Here's my GPU-Z

Edit2: Copying my 1750 timings to my 2000 timings increased my MH to 28 on my stock rom using Polaris ROM editor. I'm hoping to get 30, if possible.

The roms here are for ref 480s.. the red dragon gpu is non-ref and may not be compatible with the ref bios's.

I installed uefi win10 with rufus. I can't get it too boot with above 4gb decoding enabled with 1 or more gpus plugged in (it will boot with it enabled using onboard gpu) any ideas?

I belive we solved it by skype.

From farm where we have multiple servers...

All on MSI Z170A Gaming PRO carbon, all on MSI RX 480 8 GB and all 7 cards each.

if any help is needet just skype me.

Yeah it is solved. The custom bios works for 7gpu mining on the mobo in the title

!!!!!!!
-For everyone saying their hashrate is now fluctuating with v9.0 and asm 1.. try increasing power limit on your cards. at least like 10-15% and let me know if it makes a difference

While mining on ethermine.org, my effective hashrate over 24 hours is always about 10-15 lower than my reported hashrate. Is this normal? And is that the # I'm getting paid off of?

I mine there too and that is normal for me.. i don't know if other eth pools are better

guys how many incorrect shares you have? I got about 1 / 150-200shares

Same for me, usually at least around 1% a few of my gpus are more like 3% tho (maybe have too high OC or undervolt on these)

Can someone suggest me which core/memory settings is best for my rig?

modified bios - 1750 straps to 2000 only

5x480 nitro OC+
core 1100  , 1000mv
memory 2100, 1000mv
-dcri 35
- asm 1

eth - 135 mhs / dcr-4700 mhs

980w from wall - is this to much for my Corsair RM1000x  ?
which settings should I change to get lower energy consumption from wall?

You want to undervolt to lower the energy consumption. Somewhere between 900mv to 950mv should work well. maybe even 880mv if you're lucky. Make sure you reduce both core and mem voltage to same value too

This is the first rig, when starting and nancy, then one of GPU power down

This and rig2, and the same thing happens

This and rig3, all right, to be noted that the GPU are all the same, with the memory samsung 470 8gb, with strap 1625 to 2000.

risers are all 007 version sata attack

I can not figure out how to fix this

Try increasing power limit on those. if that doesn't work, try playing with clocks, voltages, gpu slot, riser, bios
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Third alt coin thread last two were too big. Builds links thoughts etc on: April 08, 2017, 10:10:03 AM
Any body knows why my current effective hashrate has been almost always (by a considerable amount) than my reported hashrate? The miner isn't showing errors for any of tge gpus and they're both getting shares right

What % difference for you? 5-15% is normal for me. maybe try increasing power limit on your gpus to 10-15%

Hi i'm looking for build a rig for Eth, i wanna use 8 gpus i need some info between this mobo:

MSI Z170A GAMING PRO CARBON
Asus Z270 A

Both MB have 7 pcie and 1 M2 connection than we can add 8 gpu, somebody just did it?
Cause i know on MSI require a special firmware not provider by MSI (where i can found it ?) for 8 th gpu and about Asus i dont' have idea if need something special

Thanks for any info.

I actually saw someone make a custom bios for that mobo and downloaded it. I got the mobo too but haven't got my cpu yet so I haven't tested the newest official bios (which is supposed to work with 7gpu) AND I HAVEN'T TESTED THS CUSTOM MOBO BIOS
