521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to get back into mining? on: October 27, 2019, 11:58:27 AM
Since all this while that mining altcoins have not been profitable like before i don't bother to keep mining coins so i just lock my mining rig in a room and now that bitcoin halving is knocking on the door i think its a good time to start mining even if its not profitable? i believe if bitcoin surge over 30k altcoins will take the ride we've been waiting for, anyways, what do you guys think? good idea or bad ?

It depends on the condition of your place. If your place has a high price for electricity, and you need to install some more appliances such as air condition for it, and the reward that you get from your mining is still much lower than the cost, I think it is better for you to wait for the much better altcoin days. It is not far from happening anyway. But if you can still make a little profit from it, not bad to get back to mining right now.
522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this how we regulate Bitcoin? on: October 27, 2019, 04:30:03 AM
You're right. In terms of tech, we do already have the power to self-regulate. I'm just wondering how we would go about convincing miners and developers from different blockchains to band together to regulate the cryptoasset industry. Eliminating scam ICOs is certainly crucial to the long-term success of the crypto markets, so perhaps if it was presented in such a way we could put this plan into place. Overall, I think there's definitely some serious food for thought here, particularly when it comes to securing the crypto markets, as well as exchanges and marketplaces like Vertex.
You have a good and very necessary idea. We need to fight fraudsters in the cryptocurrency market with more powerful methods than now. Apparently, a few more years are needed for the development and strong regulation of the cryptocurrency market.

Meaning to say that the regulation appropriate for cryptocurrency is only for avoiding fraud and scam, especially thoae that can lower the reputation of bitcoin. Since in terms of transactions, we could not regulate bitcoin as it is its main characteristic that we, investors and traders really want. In this case, helping bitcoin to become more reliable is the best idea we can do in order for better market adoption.

Regulating the cryptocurrency should not be coming from the inside. It should be coming from the outside. If this is the case, regulations should be coming from the governments. Frauds and scams are not to be stopped by fellow crypto projects, except if the project itself is particularly designed for that. If not, you do not expect that these crypto projects would care about the rising scam projects. Cases of scams and frauds are criminal cases, therefore the proper government authorities should be the ones running after them and impose on them the lawful penalty.
523  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s President Xi Urges Accelerated Blockchain Technology Adoption on: October 27, 2019, 04:08:16 AM
This is what we are waiting for, the big boys are now recognizing and trying to get into the blockchain technology revolution and this is a good news for the end and for the start of next year because we can expect that there will be more blockchain technology related projects that are created by the chinese government since they are now a fan of this kind of technology.

But be careful because with this development it seems that the big boys are only interested about the blockchain technology and that in the process, they might simply dump at the sidewalk the existing cryptocurrencies including the top Bitcoin and Ethereum. This announcement implies that they will utilize it for many reasons and one of these reasons is of course the creation of their very own cryptocurrency or digital renminbi which is nothing but an improved version of fiat, but still fiat.
524  Economy / Economics / Re: What makes a Fiat worthless? on: October 27, 2019, 03:48:02 AM
I will be spelling out some reasons why I think fiat is ultimately heading toward the state of being worthless. Not necessarily wars and all. There could still be fiat amidst all those man-made catastrophe.

  • Fiat will be made worthless because it is not anymore founded upon gold or silver or even arithmetic. It is only founded upon the decisions of a few individuals who made into what they call laws.
  • Fiat is going to be worthless because its value is always depreciating. In the long run, this is definitely a foolish design.
  • Fiat is going to become obsolete because it contradicts the nature, desire, or preference of men to become free.
  • Fiat has a lot of hassles involved, I mean uncountable hassleds. You try to go to the bank and you will realize that very quickly.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull run / wishful think ? on: October 27, 2019, 03:26:12 AM
Because of what happened last 2017 we thought the history will repeat itself so many investors are hoping for another bull run since we are in the 3rd quarter of this year.

Learn to analyze the market and dont depend on others speculation, no one can accurately say the next thing for crypto. Bitcoin halving would be next year, few months to go and we'll see if will create an impact to crypto as a whole.
Investors are doing everything they can to make the market to go up and we are seeing this in the current growth of bitcoin but the rest of the market stayed more or less the same and since then the price has been going down.

But I doubt we will see a bull run on the final quarter of this year, the conditions are not there and despite the efforts to try to support cryptocurrencies the market is not ready to go up, and we know that if the market does not go up for some time it will eventually begin to go down as investors get their money out of the market.

I beg to disagree with your points. There will be a bull run in the final quarter of this year because there are conditions for it. And not just the existence of such conditions but also the absence of negative air around Bitcoin and the crypto market. Just recently, china has released a very friendly statement that would contribute a lot of confidence for crypto. Another would be the upcoming halving. That is also a huge contributing factor. Bakkt is also gaining momentum. All these factors are creating the bull run condition.
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How do you explain the recent surge in Bitcoin price? on: October 27, 2019, 03:01:25 AM
Harder to explain what is the cause of the fast hype price of bitcoin last friday, and now bitcoin little low their price, but they mive high volatility quick and fast mobpving their price. I think the movement of the bitcoun price is because of the public demands and the eefect of the speculation trends.

It is the combination of public demand and speculation trends. But for sure the public demand which you and I mentioned is also influenced by several factors. One of which, as far as the most recent pump is concerned, must have something to do with the chinese president Xi Jinping's announcement that the country should explore and utilize the blockchain technology. It must have caused a bullish outlook among the world's Bitcoin investors and supporters.
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's up with Ethereum? on: October 27, 2019, 02:13:14 AM
I think that at this time ethereum is still silent and there are no signs of price increases, ethereum is still very calm but when bitcoin can soar high and market conditions are good then ethereum prices can also be rebuffed and will increase prices.
after its sudden pump from previous days, we can still see its slow movement. It is slightly stable at below $200, and this might be a good sign.
Sleeping for several months and not showing any increase in price, maybe it is just preparing itself for the next coming bull run.

I also like the movement of ETH right now. Well, many of the top altcoins are moving in a similar movement with Bitcoin. A long upward movement followed by a mild correction, not even halfway of their gain, and it looks to me that it will move upward once more. Right now, I am seeing a slight change of direction. This could be the sign that the correction is through and another round of rising will take over.
528  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you have to sell bitcoin to an alt, so... on: October 27, 2019, 01:51:09 AM
Describing a shitcoin varies from person to person. An alt that made you good money doesn't mean that it's a promising one. So please be honest, and if you ever have to sell your btc, what would you buy with them?

My first vote to Monero, for privacy reasons. Fuk ZEC and its "optional privacy" which is NOT a privacy actually. DASH? Lol, no privacy. Another bitcoin clone methinks.
Second one is Ethereum, there is no serious competitor in smart contract area.

I cannot find third one. Maybe NANO.

Monero is the king of privacy coins. But I have to credit also ZEC and DASH for what they are. They are pursuing the road of privacy in the crypto world. And they have made good contributions in their own respect. They should not be classified with other shitcoins.

Ethereum is the top among all altcoins. I would rank it higher than Monero. The third one could be Litecoin. The younger brother of Bitcoin.
529  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WILL CRYPTO BOOM AGAIN? on: October 26, 2019, 01:45:17 PM
Sure it's impossible to say but still... after yesterday hearing i really don't know what to think. Used to be sure Libra entry will boom the market once again but it looks like Libra's not coming shortly.
Is btc halving the most promising ''event'' we are looking forward to (at the moment)?

Bitcoin Halving is worth anticipating unlike Libra. With Bitcoin halving, we can at least rely on previous data that every after halving the price increases. We have seen that in 2016 and 2012. With Libra, we can only have speculations because it is just another stable coin project in the market that has already some of it earlier. And we cannot really link Libra, even its potential success, to a crypto boom. Libra is pegged on fiat. So even if there is a high number of users, the market will not automatically see growth in prices among other coins. And of course, Libra is not yet certain of coming out.
530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC&ALTS price direct proportional? on: October 26, 2019, 01:01:13 PM
There is no direct proportion. But there are a few patterns. There are times when Bitcoin pumps also mean altcoin pumps. But that is not always the case as there are also times when altcoins will bleed when Bitcoin rallies. There are times when altcoins go bullish while Bitcoin is falling hard but there are also times when the altcoins are all brought down along with Bitcoin. There are also times when altcoins and Bitcoin are moving in their own ways. All these means they are hard to catch.
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Zuckerberg & Libra Have to do With The Crypto Market? How Low Will BTC Goes on: October 26, 2019, 12:31:47 PM
A lot traders are blaming Mark Zuckerberg and his Libra stablecoin for Bitcoin's and the crypto market sea of reds today. What does Zuckerberg and Libra have to do with the crypto market? It's just another project right? How low will Bitcoin price falls further today?

There is no connection at all. Libra cannot pull down nor push up the price of Bitcoin because it is nothing yet but a mere plan. How can a project that has not even started to make public influence the crypto market? Libra is nothing yet as of this phase. And even so, they are already attacked from all sides. But then these attacks cannot have any impact on Bitcoin or the crypto market because Libra is not yet within that market. There can never be any damage to Bitcoin simply because a certain stable coin will not be born.
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gram vs Libra: is there any difference? on: October 26, 2019, 12:06:44 PM
I won't waste your time retelling the latest news about Libra and how it became non-welcomed among politics, banks, etc.
There's also TON project, which seems more acceptable among society, exchange platforms, communities, etc.

Comparing the feedback — while Gram is 'delighted to be listed' by different exchanges (quote from here), Libra's just... 'not money' (quote from here).
So, could you explain, what's the difference between Libra and Gram and is there future for Gram coin?

First, the futures of both coins are still in limbo with the government agencies still not giving them the green light to proceed. In terms of development, however, Telegram is ahead because it has already done with its coin offering. They have already accomplished something, only stuck in the distribution. Facebook, on the other hand, is still on its planning stage. So there is still a lot of work to be done for Facebook. But, they are equally stagnant for now. The biggest difference between the two is that Gram is not a stable coin unlike Libra.
533  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much money is enough to live happily after crypto? on: October 26, 2019, 11:09:16 AM
A million USD is enough for me to live the rest of my life without ever worrying about where to get the money to buy my next meal. This is good enough for me to have more than a decent house, a decent car, and perhaps a not-too-small business to manage with fun while spending each day like a vacation. And of course this amount is already including some travelling expenses. Travelling is always necessary for the soul.

But, wait, don't say 'after crypto' please. There is no after crypto. There is only before crypto. When you retire, that's not 'after crypto' because you will be spending crypto, managing a business that accepts crypto, and so on.
534  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat currency value and Economy debt on: October 26, 2019, 10:47:58 AM
Why do you think that after Bitcoin reaches 100k up to 500k or even 1 million USD, it will crash? Is it necessary in your theory that after reaching that high price, it must crash? Because as for me, if Bitcoin will reach that high, there will be some level of stability because transactions as well as people's Bitcoin ownership will be reduced to a few sats already. That means there will be no more large whales that could manipulate the price.

If Bitcoin reaches 100k up to 1 million, that means fiat is already dead.
535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you waste your time for 5 cents worth of bitcoin? on: October 26, 2019, 10:25:18 AM
I am doing market research for a potential project.
If there was a website you could go to daily where you would earn anywhere from 1 cent - 10 cents worth of bitcoin just for clicking a button, would you do it?
No strings attached, no deposit required. You go to the website, push a button and 5 cents is deposited into your wallet. Would you go every day and do it, or is it not worth your time?

If doing so would mean a malware or spyware is going to enter my computer because of that, I will not do it. But if it is otherwise safe and there are no problems that will come out because of that and it is honest enough to pay me and let me withdraw with a reasonable minimum amount, I won't mind doing that on a daily basis. I can do that in a split second. That is not a burden to do everyday.
536  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s President Xi Urges Accelerated Blockchain Technology Adoption on: October 26, 2019, 09:59:32 AM

Although it is good to see that the Bitcoin prise is heading fast towards the psychological $10,000 mark but this development also might prove that China can really influenced the market movement so hopefully this is not a self interest agenda by China that they are just saving the market from moving lower.

Is this news really the cause of the current price surge? Or It somehow influenced how the investors think about this as an advantage to the current market condition?
If I read it correctly, Chinese president is interested with the blockchain technology, and Its just the technology alone not Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency in general.

Imo, blockchain is somehow a game changer in the field of politics and governmental stuff. Mainly, because of the transparency and trust issues.

We have to take that into consideration. This is one single news that does not even mention the word Bitcoin in it. The president is only making mention of the blockchain technology. Although I believe that the statement coming from the chinese president was an influence to the market, it is also possible that it was not the cause of the current. There was perfect timing. If we look at the past track of Bitcoin, this is not the first time that the market moved this way.
537  Other / Politics & Society / Re: America Starts Arresting and Charging Fines For Saying Bad Words, As Hong Kong>> on: October 26, 2019, 09:04:34 AM
Perhaps the United States of America has a very beautiful vision ahead of her. She wants to be a paradise where not even a badly worded social media post is allowed. Great advancement indeed!  Grin

While Hong Kong is facing the true meaning of democracy in a chaotic way, America is creating heaven on earth by killing basic freedom.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: today the market looks excited on: October 26, 2019, 08:43:59 AM
hi all ...
I went to a number of exchanges and saw all the green altcoin, having previously fallen between 5-10%.
what really happened, did I miss some important news or was there a speculation / rumor that affected all of this.

There is no big explanation to every movement in the crypto charts. There is a big explanation if there are spikes or sudden large dip in prices. But if the prices are moving up and down with 5-10%, they do not necessarily mean that there are special things happening. Right now, the special event may refer to the chinese president announcing his support to blockchain. This may also be a coincidence.
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Unrealistic bounty allocations on: October 26, 2019, 08:20:25 AM
Do not just look at the bounty allocation. That is a wrong way of choosing your bounty. You will always end up scammed if that is how you assess whether the bounty is worth taking or not. Beyond the allocation, you should learn to get yourself familiar with the project itself. The most important factor is that the bounty is a bounty of a project that has a bright future. That the coin you will be receiving will still have value after months and year.
540  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 39 Bodies found in a truck in southeast England on: October 26, 2019, 04:35:02 AM
It's not first time when such thing happens. Few years ago 71 dead  migrants were found in truck in Hungary:
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/aug/28/more-than-70-dead-austria-migrant-truck-tragedy
It's strange that fridge was used to transport these people. Usually different type of truck trailers are used in such operations.
I read that driver was arrested, but there is big chance that he wasn't involved there. Often truck drivers have no clue what is inside their trailer, they only have documents with some basic information like destination, weight and etc. Sometimes they don't even have right to open trailer and look what is inside it.

Most probably the document the driver was carrying bears false information. It might have declared that inside the fridge were dressed chicken or other meat-based products. He will have an idea of what's inside but he could never be sure if that's correct. It is basic that they have at least a clue on what they are transporting.

I hope my mind is wrong about them being sold for their body parts.
