Ca and NY stated that the new Coinbase exchange is not yet licensed. They still could be a fully legal, licensed money transmitter for their already established services.
LocalBitcoins, BitQuick.co etc operate across the globe. Do they have any license ? He will not understand you , However coinbase for me is legit _ it is not regulated but this is obviously "bitcoin" is not regulated.

The profit will be only if you are using a "free electricity" or not paying it. In all the other situation you will not make profit ( 90% of case).

Coinbase is operating illegally in California, New York and others.
The law MUST be for everybody. How many people were or are in "custody" for unlicensed money transmitter? MANY !
The fact that CA and NY have not decided yet if and how to regulate "virtual currencies" doesn't necessarily mean that Coinbase operates illegally. If you read past the headlines in the ZDNet and NY Times articles you would see that. Sloppy PR and/or media reporting perhaps (to imply licensing where it's actually a "gray area"), but not the crime you're making it to be. Wrong : in 2013, Department of Homeland Security had seized $5 million from Mt. Gox’s. Mt. Gox failed to register in the U.S. as a money transmitting company. I think Mt Gox operated with Bitcoin, right? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Mt Gox was different from coinbase... However report them to the authority come on !

As a law abiding citizen you ought to report them. Do it and move on.You made my day , however I also think they are legit ( maybe not legal because bitcoin is not regulated , that's normal). Please make a search on yahoo or google or msn : unlicensed money transmitter bitcoinYou will see how many people are "suffering" because of that. The law was applied in their cases. Yes, people like you.... with families: these people have their lives...ruined. they ran the same biz as Coinbase , called unlicensed money transmitter. Why is Coinbase different? If you think that you are right , report them to the authority. Here in the forum we can't do nothing for you (or am I wrong?).

Send the BTCs to a paper wallet, and try to don't use them.
Uhh... Wasn't the point of Bitcoin that people will use it to buy stuff with it? Advising people to not use their coins is just nonsense. Saving...money? At the end in my honest opinion the real purpose of a coin* is spend them and "save" it , but it is not for speculate. *Cash - money

hmmm... 0.00145 btc as commission (0.5% of 0.29054726 in my case) for withdraw the sig. campaign payment it is expensive. I preferred the payment into the personal bitcoin address , it is free and faster.
Next month a fixed flat withdrawal fee will be brought into operation. For this month think of the fee as 1 or 2 posts that weren't counted (everyone has at least a couple posts that shouldn't have counted, if you think you were perfect let me know and I'll check!). Ok , It is not a problem for me . I only thought it was more easy to send directly to our bitcoin addresses. However thanks again !

you pay 0.35 to get 68 dollars thats nothing too bad i think No problem , I only want to know .
I forgot to say thanks , maybe I seemed a bit rude but I would like to know. Now you have paid from the "escrow" address to our bit-x addresses and now we have to withdraw from the site. Maybe it was better to send the bitcoin directly to our personal bitcoin addresses.
