5201  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Let's not be too judgemental about CZ (Binance) on: January 19, 2023, 07:51:25 AM
There was a coindesk article that likely sparked concerns about the solvency and liquidity of FTX. Much of FTX's assets consisted of loans made to Almedia(sp) research, and much of the assets held by Almedia were illiquid. If the coindesk article (or some other event) caused FTX customers to withdraw their coin in too large of numbers, FTX would not have the coin available to honor those withdrawal requests and a large margin call to Almedia would be unable to be met.
It was no more news then that FTX was facing liquidity issues, only that people did not pay more attention to it as the company tries to prove strong and defended itself verbally. This happened until CZ who sees better than mere people because he's in the system, and perhaps had spies there announce the withdrawal of $2.1B. This was what actually triggered the panic withdrawal that eventually called for FTX to go insolvent.

I believe that the Lunac and FTX incidents didn't just happen, there is some kinds of conspiracy involved. Although business do fail if mismanaged. But in the alleged conspiracy I have always imagined CZ in the picture as the big fish and chief strategist.
I consider him so in general terms, but in personal terms I consider him a smart guy who is always ahead of thr happenings in the crypto world. His empire is too large and he cannot be easily taken down. What makes him bleed will largely affect the whole crypto industry.
When a company or an asset is stressed and news and surrounding events are adding to it, then there would be an imminent collapse. That's what I would say, and note that the circumstances behind the collapse of FTX and LUNA are not the same. For LUNA, there have been shady deals from the beginning, the intention was not clear, and not completely good, so the foundation was bad. The UST (Terra) used was another issue, while the arrest of Do Kwon triggered the domino effect.
5202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 19, 2023, 07:11:44 AM
Manchester United surprised me honestly. Their first half performance was quite comforting and they should have got a decent win here. But Crystal Palace started to play differently in the second half. Manchester United couldn't maintain the same level of dominance against them. This just brought their end. After not being able to score the second goal Crystal Palace kept their hopes alive and scored the equalizer in the stoppage time.

This draw isn't good at all for the Red Devils right before a big game against Arsenal. They might lose 5 points in 2 games in this case.
Yes, i watched the match yesterday and I'm sure the equalizing goal scored by "Michael Olise" of Crystal palace must be one of Manchester United's greatest shock this season, because everybody taught Man-U had already won the match yesterday at 90mins, only to be disappointed at extra time, because Man-u had the most ball possession during the game, likewise Crystal palace having the most "Shot on target" which eventually paved way to them playing draw yesterday. But on the contrary, both team did play an enjoyable game yesterday
it's hurt when your club draw in a late minutes to the end of the match. Olise broke my heart yesterday with his late minute equalising free kicks.
Manchester United missed so many opportunities in the game, Rashford was very selfish in the game, he wants to score by all means.  Crystal palace defended well last night. It was an interesting game tough one for that matter.

Manchester United has to win Arsenal on Sunday if they will achieve top four place. Arsenal are really Inform as league leader. It will be difficult for Manchester United to win in that game on Sunday. A draw will be fine by me.
I never believed that the Man U that was able to defeat Man City would not be able to win crystal palace which is in the 12th position in the league. Regardless, Man U did well, to me, and so was crystal palace which could not conceal more goals and still managed to score once. And as for Rashford, I don't like people blaming players when they are on the pitch, human brains calculate and decide in less than a second in some situations, so we can't blame him. If it had utilised more chances, you would not have termed him "selfish."

However, the match against Arsenal is another crucial match, and if Arsenal would defeat Man U, then they would have virtually secured their EPL trophy for the season.

I'm glad your eyes are now open, and thanks for letting the novice people know about your ordeal. It's not new to me the vices of scammers on the internet, it's we that should very be careful of those things that are too good to be true. Many people want to get rich quickly, but is this possible without following due process? I guess not.

There has been HYIP many decades before cryptocurrency, and people were scammed for it, and scammers are still using this style in the name of cryptocurrency. People have to be careful about this.

Social media is their main target, and that is why many warnings and disclaimers have been issued to those that care to listen. And the closest-fetched one is on the site of "Onentrepreneur" where everyone was tipped to be careful of the scams in the name of trust wallets.

5204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum deposit and minimum withdrawal. on: January 18, 2023, 07:35:35 AM
Do you know that stating that someone should bet much in casino because of withdrawal aspect, do you realize that casino is a gamblling which you hold it at hand, because you can lose or you win it because the way I'm seeing gambling, what i can encourage is that someone should invest in gambling what it can afford to lose, because the way I'm seeing what's happening in gambling it's not what someone can bring it's fund to invest.
I bet he knows that already but who wouldn't be? It only takes a common sense to know that gambling places are so risky as you can lose your money on them if you won't win. Minimum deposits on most gambling sites are usually low and very affordable even for a small gambler so what you are saying there of invest only amounts that we can afford to lose can still be followed.

We only need to make sure that we don't keep on redepositing once we lose the money that is intended for playing. We need to take a rest and come back playing again after some time to ensure that we won't be addicted. Anyway, there's also a gambling site which lets you invest on them.
Some people does not understand such concept because they do think that gambling is all about consistency and curiosity, gambling if you are winning in the gamblling, that's not what supposed to make you to say that gambling most be constantly played, even though you are in the losing side of gambling, you will still undergoes such, you are right by taking some break in gambling if you are in losing part even though you are winning part what increased the loss in gambling is when you lose and you became curious to get it back.
I agree with most of your opinion but not all, as when one is winning in gambling, they would always want to continue gambling. After all, why do I need a break if what am doing is earning me consistent income? But for losing, that's where the problem comes in, gamblers tend to want to play again to recover their losses, and this might lead to more losses until some might be addicted to it in the pretence of recovering their losses or want to be rich through gambling.

While some would take a break and return later like you rightly said.
5205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 18, 2023, 07:09:34 AM
That gap is not so big if arsenal will always lose in the upcoming match and what about when arsenal will be only winning the upcoming match? that gap seems pretty impossible to be surpassed by manchester city and united. This time arsenal was also trying to add more ammunition to make sure it can pass the rest of the matches in EPL until the end of the season. I think that's gonna be a difficult thing for city or MU to surpass arsenal and take EPL title for this season.
Im sure that pep was hoping if arsenal will be starting to struggle with its performance in EPL. The way become even harder once arsenal keeps winning the next match.
In fact, for City, the problem is not only to wait for Arsenal's mistakes, but also to consistently score points - at the moment they have problems with this. City are playing a rescheduled game against Tottenham on January 19th and I see no reason why three points are guaranteed for City in this match. If Arsenal continue to steadily gain points, then the pressure on City will increase many times over - they will not have the right to lose a single point, and this greatly affects the confidence of the players.
8 points is a big gap but because Manchester city is a good team, we feel it’s not really a big gap for them to catch up. I think Manchester city have not been on a good form for a while now, so before they can reorganize themselves to form, and if Arsenal can continue with this intensity, I don’t see anyone stopping them. Yes, they have a thin squad but Arteta knows how to manage the players and what he wants in each game.

Eight point gap doesn't seem like much and as football is an unpredictable game so anything can happen. But, on a general note, it is going to be really hard for Manchester City or Manchester United to top Arsenal from a viewer's perspective at this moment.

Arteta has really changed this Arsenal squad and on top of that, their morality is at an all-time high at the moment so they will be on good momentum in the next parts of the season. In order for Manchester City to beat Arsenal to win the league title, they have to be really consistent for the rest of the season as well as wishing that Arsenal slips up.
They have 20 matches remaining in the top-flight, with six of those coming against significant opponents such as Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Man City - who they will have to play twice. Manchester United are still participating in other competitions which will divide their attention and fatigue and injuries might set in. While Arsenal  will have an opportunity for their players to recover due to their break in scheduling and because of their elimination from cup games. So I don’t see them slipping up.
You have a good point, but more matches do not automatically translate to more injuries, these guys are used to this, and even when some clubs play more, and perhaps win trophies other than EPL, they still show signs of improvement more matches. It all depends on what happens on the pitch, not what we think would happen, and there might be players that would play less but have an injury, while some would play more but will have none or minor.

Also, the EPL is winding down little by little, my take is that Arsenal will be the winner, while Man U, Man City and Newcastle will be tge runner-ups.

5207  Economy / Gambling / Re: What sort of Weekly & Monthly Bonuses do Bitcointalk members want? on: January 17, 2023, 11:42:09 AM
Always want bonuses, that keep up loyalty’s.
Such as reward for sign, % of cashback
And other cool bonuses.
Most of sign in reward requires deposit and wagering meaning this is not totally bonus but an obligation , though there are several site that lets us sign in and play for some spin for free yet most of those ended as scam sites or not having a fair gaming.

and about loyalty? i cannot measure myself becoming loyal just because they gave me bonuses , instead how they treat me over the time i played.
Well said, but I would like you to know that crypto casinos are doing well with bonuses and other offers, this is what we gain in a competitive environment. Many are offering high bonuses, and it's left to gamblers to accept their offers and know what they are agreeing to when it comes to their terms and conditions.

But truly, many have been brainwashed with bonuses, they would be lured into accepting it but it would be difficult for them to make a dime from it because of the stringent conditions attached to it. Once a good casino is selected, this would be an added advantage, but still cannot earn them (casino) loyalty, it's a quality service that does that.
5208  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat and crypto and stock is bs, but property is real on: January 17, 2023, 10:59:47 AM
I was narrowly able to understand you, and I will like to correct you that it's all about the preference and preparedness of the investor. Be it fiat, crypto, stock or property, they are all good, and they serve their purpose when they are purchased at the right time. You don't invest in property at all times, and so are the others that have been mentioned earlier. What is good is to learn them to know the right time to do their investment and divestment.

It would not also harm anyone to diversify their portfolio as well, you can invest in all, or almost all to cut risk and make profit surer.
5209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin hits 20,000$ again, what is the reason? on: January 17, 2023, 10:41:35 AM
Bitcoin has indeed hit above $21k in January, this is not new to me as the new year comes with new possibilities. If you remember, last year was turbulent for the coin as inflation and global economic woes plagued it. Now, the inflation figures are now subsiding, and so is the world economy having more hope daily. These are the major reasons why BTC is appreciating in value, and more are to be seen because the market sentiment through technical analysis is now bullish in the long-term disposition.
5210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle your losses on: January 17, 2023, 10:27:11 AM
@OP you're wrong, it's not about how to handle your losses, but you need to handle your purpose in gambling.

You should remember, the purpose of gambling is for fun and not to chase money, so if you're making profit or losses in the end, you wouldn't blame yourself with the result. When your purpose to gamble is to make money, when you're losses, you wouldn't happy and will try to do anything in order to make you satisfied, this can be gamble more or using drug or drink a lot alcohol.
There is nothing wrong with what the OP has explained and even with the meaning he/she wants us to relate to what it wrote, you are only claiming the same thing from a different view. Handling/managing emotions and losses, and maintaining a responsible gambling lifestyle that will help are still striving towards the same goal.

Anyone could proffer any solution to his problem to cut loss and perhaps increase earnings, it does not matter how it looks to others so long as it's working for the person.
5211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting against the Public, is this strategy working? on: January 16, 2023, 06:10:30 PM
It is not a method I would prefer. In my opinion, all gambling (including sports events) is largely an event of chance, but nevertheless, I aim to use even the smallest detail of information in all my bets. For example, if I'm going to predict the outcome of a match, I look at the squads of the teams in that match and their performance in the last matches and then make a decision. Other methods are not my preferred methods.
I second you on this, betting against the public is not a strategy, it's gambling with a different belief which I know would put the gambler in trouble most times. This approach would make the gambler lose much in football, though other gambling avenues might still be the same as they would be for any gambler because luck is mostly required.

In gambling, no certain method works, but in football, you can easily predict the team that would win, this might not work all the time but it would work most times like say over 85% for the public. So predicting against over 85% means you have less than a 15% chance of winning, and it will not be able to sustain the person though the odds against the public are much higher.
5212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 16, 2023, 11:03:27 AM
behind it all, at this time we see that several big Premier League teams are experiencing performance and consistency problems and this is being used very well by Arsenal and also Newcastle to be at the top of the standings, but in that way we don't know what will happen. happened in the second half of this season but what is certain is that the Premier League is always fierce in every season.
I don't know where you saw the top of the standings, because Newcastle's position is still under Man City. After all, this competition will continue, be it Man City, even though they are narrowly separated by 1 point, even Man United, who is currently in a performance that should be reckoned with too. So I'm still optimistic that the standings can be achieved. Even if Arsenal wins, at least positions 2 and 3 can still change.
The standing of Man City is shaking at the second spot, I never believed that they could let themself be beaten by Man U in such a crucial match. And maybe you did not understand @Fakhrulenclix very well, Newcastle must have been his preference for the second spot, not even Man U which is most people's favourite to hold the second position if Man City is displayed.

As it is now, both Man U and Newcastle are having 38 points, which is just a point lower than Man City. They could be very good displacers with this current dispensation as both teams are doing very well.
5213  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Do and Don't for Electrum Wallet on: January 16, 2023, 08:14:46 AM
Electrum is a good Bitcoin wallet and I've seen many people say well of it, yet nothing is to be trusted 100%, but if the fault is not from the wallet itself, then you should absorb any blame as your fault if your coin is stolen.

Carelessness in most cases is the reason why money is stone, we should never trust anyone and even our gadget if we want to safeguard anything that is related to the internet.

All the possible security features must be activated on the wallet for proper security with a potent password combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers and others. And nothing must be stored on the computer, phone, and other gadgets. If possible on the 2FA, the gadget that would receive the combination must be offline or has nothing in common with the gadget from which you operate the wallet.
5214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone know why FTT price started to rise just now? on: January 16, 2023, 07:57:15 AM
The answer the OP seeks is not far-fetched, I knew a thing like this would happen, so I'm not surprised at all. If a company is dead is different from a company that goes insolvent, FTX did not die, it only went insolvent, and the change of management is proof of that. No company that is dead will have its CEO changed (From Sam Bankman-Fried to John J. Ray III).

Aside from that, there have been a lot of internal reforms within the company's activities, and I believe that more experienced hands would have been employed. This is in addition that there are some branches of the company that was not affected by the unfortunate incident of insolvency, and as they are doing well, everything would be counting positively for FTX and FTT.

And the last good news I received a while ago indicates that FTX is engaging in partnership with other companies, this would surely strengthen the company over time. And with the CNBC news on withdrawing hope for FTX Japan customers by mid-February is another reason among many others that could cheer FTT market price.

5215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Hash Ribbon Buy Alert on: January 16, 2023, 07:36:31 AM
Thank you for this alert, and I personally believe that Bitcoin has entered into the long-term bullish phase, the bearish phase that dominated last week might be indeed over for now.

I don't believe that there is still a trend/swing trading indicator/strategy that is yet to show GREEN for the bullish trend, and it's worth noting that the price action on the weekly chart calls for it. If you look at the last 8 preceding candles on the weekly chart you posted, the market was so sluggish and tarried so much with tight daily movements.

It's now practical for a decisive breakout to cause a bullish confirmation across the market board after the decisive breaking of the peak of the sideways market last week.
5216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction touched forum users in a very sad way... on: January 15, 2023, 06:59:30 PM
addiction is something that corrupts even the person who considered himself as honest as possible, that's why even when a person is addicted we can't keep condemning him, judging as if we were immune to addiction, anyone can become addicted to games It's bad luck, when a person is addicted everyone around that person needs to be patient, forgive the addicted person's actions and then provide emotional support to the addict. I already had an addicted relative, he even took our goods and went to sell without us knowing to support the addiction and then disappeared because he was afraid and ashamed to return home

gambling addicts are worse than alcohol addicts, this is because gambling addicts always believe that when they gamble they will be luckier and will win a lot of money, when they lose they come back to believing that they need to gamble more because luck will be with them. them and it will be different
You are on point, and I will continue to tell people that we should not entirely judge others because we are free from their plagues, mental prowess varies among human beings. Initially, I judge people on addiction because I viewed addiction as a choice, this was as to why they could not prevent it before it eats deep into them. But on second thought, we do not have the mental power to challenge situations the same way, still, those that are addicted would not be totally exonerated from the blame, but when they are in, they need help instead of judging them.

All my life I have stayed away from trouble and addiction, this is why I made the last point, I am alert and conscious of my actions. There was a time that I was getting addicted to Lotto, I made sure that I forced myself from not doing it throughout that time before it gets worse, and it works till today. Anyone can discipline themselves to be responsible too.
5217  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sometimes more effort is what is needed. on: January 15, 2023, 05:01:27 PM
The OP could try as much as he/she wants, but seeking help might reduce the stress and make the realization of the dream faster. I remember when I started investing online, it was not easy, I drilled myself so much because the internet was not like this then where you can have access to information quickly. I knew how stupid I was in finding my path, though I made it eventually, yet I would have sought help if it were to be this time.

Even if you know what you think is working for you now, you cannot know everything from a single source, you need multiple sources to gain more experience. So I see no reason why you should not reach out if need be instead of drilling yourself more.
5218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin helps the economy of all circles on: January 15, 2023, 04:47:54 PM
Bitcoin touches lives, there are many that did not know they could own their cars and houses at the time they possessed them because of Bitcoin. We can't neglect this fact and many more as Bitcoin has helped create many jobs in so many facets of the economy. But what I am not comfortable with is your topic of this thread, the global economy is vast, and the decentralization of bitcoin could not help in impacting it much as most transactions are private, not to talk of you using "all" in your writeup.
5219  Economy / Gambling / Re: Recommendations for Real Cryptocurrency Casinos on: January 15, 2023, 08:16:12 AM
Okay, so after seeing the further posts, it's just that OP would rather play with pure crypto, instead of its value tied to fiat.

For instance, he would prefer betting 1,000 Sats rather than the dollar value.

Betfury and Crypto.games support this, although I see the owner of the latter already posted before mine.

I like to be enlightened are all casinos have this option Stake.com are also doing this you can bet through sats and many casinos also have this option although I like Betfury because you can convert your crypto to dollar equivalent when betting a feature that is not available on many casinos but of you checked the most popular casinos they support casinos with the current set up as long as they are reputable, reputation is everything in the Crypto world it always precedes the casino.
People can go in these times for casinos where they have a better experience with fiat money but we know that it is because the value of crypto is low, and players can better measure their money aptitude with fiat money, but I forget about this, I just focus on what a cryptocurrency represents for me, it may be that people see this as a different culture, I forget about the value of fiat and I focus on multiplying my cryptocurrency, it doesn't matter if I lose a lot or a little, I just want to increase my chances of having more because when I have more value, the money in fiat will be a lot.

I don't think a literate person should think much about this because it's all about betting and the right calculation/exchange, and whether it's Bitcoin or fiat, it doesn't matter. The value of the wager itself shouldn't be the reason why anyone should be scared to use crypto, this is about simple calculations, and the betting will all be risked correctly.

One should only be wary of the casino that would force a high crypto wagering minimum on them, that is the only where issues would arise in this regard.
5220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 15, 2023, 07:55:40 AM
Manchester United gave a good fight to Manchester city despite that the opportunity that was gotten by Rashford was not utilized well in the first half but that is football you make mistake to learn is only when you always repeat the same mistakes that you are tagged an unskillful and bad player, manchester city got the total possession of the match but the fail to defend the first goal the scored in second half which caused them the victory, the rate at which Manchester United aqualized the game was surprising, congratulations to Manchester United for a well deserved winning.
Manchester united climbing the 4th position is a sure deal for them if they continue playing with this momentum. Manchester United gave a good fight in the first after Manchester City took possession of the match.

I wasn't expecting the win though from Manchester United. I predicted a draw match from both teams. Lucky was damn on Manchester United after scoring an offside goal that the referee didn't blow.
Honestly the outcome of this match surprised everyone many soccer analysts had tipped Man City to win, I predicted a draw, Man Utd played brilliantly infact Marcus Rashford two chances in first half of the match would have settled the match, this is indeed an improved Red Devils who played their best match under Erik Ten Hag today, it's unbelievable that Man City had a single shot on goal throughout the duration of the match, Man Utd midfielders never gave Kevin DeBryne much chance to link up with Haaland who was equally well marked which I believe is Man Utd game plan which was well executed.
Another great performance from Manchester United and finally they have managed to win over City. Rashford is performing continuously and he is improving so fast. Casemiro is outstanding and his contribution is a lot for this win. I thought also match may end with draw but a good comeback by Manchester United within short time.
I never believed that the match could turn out to be what it is, Man U did a good job, and so was Man City. But the City like that of the beginning of this season is lacking, more needs to be done in the area of their aggressive attack as it was. Man U has proven they are fully back, and they are now a single point below City, which is a serious threat to them in the second position.

Another mistake from City would cost them more. It's only Arsenal that is still comfortable in the first position, the second position will now be keenly contested by United and City, and I don't have a preference between the two anymore.
