Because of costs/downtime to ship the miners off... I would rather get my own jig so I can do it myself as its already going to require me to make a couple of trips to my facility to pickup the A4, take it offsite for the modifications and testing, then to return it again.

It is likely not a specific jig? What is mnfg or parts? Perhaps you all should just eat the price of one jig anyway.
It likely would be a wash in lost mining time. But you'd have a jig. Not sure might just be a wash price vs lost time
sending it to someone to get flashed.

So those with one is this possible?
5202  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pessimistic outcome: segwit won't be activated on: December 13, 2016, 02:38:55 PM
We need LN. We need segwit.

But what if idiots like Bitcoin-com and Via will crumb the deal?

Bitcoin core won't care they see btc as a store of value transactions and speed don't matter.
and keeps decentralization.

Bitcoin miners and block size hard fork folk want more transactions thus more centralized  and
More transactions more fees and adoption.

Bitcoin core.     Like gold. Holding good enough.

Miners and transactions more due to btc as a currency etc more like silver coins

You could be right it may never happen. Stalemare
5203  Economy / Speculation / Re: is it time to start seriously talking about a $5000 BTC on: December 11, 2016, 02:37:29 PM
Won't go above 1k imho till bitcoin core gets seq witness up and all involved come to consensus on on hard fork block size
(very unlikely seq witness as an example will be turned on in 2017 imho)

IF every one would on the above play nice we'd imho be about 1250 usd btc price

Anyway hope I'm getting this wrong. But how I see such.
5204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: December 10, 2016, 01:15:01 AM
Right. Litecoin will succeed with Bitcoin.  Litecoin will complement bitcoin as a faster lighter "silver" of quick transactions.

Does not mean ltc will keep price ratio thou with other alt options. Currently at 0.00455 or some
such. I currently mine ltc and convert to btc. If ltc follows in uptrend (badly) btc price why keep
ltc in mass hoping for a pump. It has been safer and more price growth to skip that step
and just keep it in btc. Assuming odds are high against ltc pumping without this continued
(imho) of ltc to btc. So why hoard ltc against this trend? Not liking it. But ltc may further
disconnect in this manner so the risk of just the convert is much less to keep your crypto value
from mining and what you hold point of view

Catch is if everyone does this price will continue to disconnect from btc and drop. Add the
New China mnfg boards for data halls only and the A4 data hall units and consumer versions it
is looking like worst of worlds like btc in 2014.
5205  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase and the IRS. What is the possbile outcome? on: December 10, 2016, 01:01:51 AM
I just got an idea guys. For Americans just tell them you sent your BTC to Huobi.com to trade on USD markets and they stole it. We cant be verified on that exchange and the United States government has no jurisdiction. What are they going to do? Call you a liar. Who cares. If we have to claim our profits we should be able to claim our losses.

You can only take up to a 3k loss off your gross taxes per year. They also would require real names and a receipt for
Every transaction. And yes that includes capital gains on dust
5206  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase and the IRS. What is the possbile outcome? on: December 08, 2016, 02:55:17 AM
what can come out of this incident is either Coinbase resisting IRS requests and don't give any information (at least not publicly) which means they continue their service and don't lose many users.
or they start working with IRS publicly and everyone stops using their service for good and they move on to other foreign services for exchange and wallet service.

the third option which I think is the most probably one is that Coinbase starts working with IRS privately and when a couple of Coinbase users got IRS notice in their mail asking them to go to court and pay fines for not paying their taxes it turns into a scandal and Coinbase closes down shop and runs away.

4th option

IRS sends a 'blanket' justification letter to all on coinbase asking them for clarification on their coinbase account and to account for all transactions as to 2013 IRS guidelines per individual transactions due
to mining and/or trading and/or captial gains (less then 1 year and 1 day 40% greater then 1 year hold of BTC before spending 20%) etc They could also justify this by the summons being granted that they
suspect coinbase and its users of using btc to default on IRS taxes.....as a cover anyway....

thanks get that out to us soonest Smiley

IN that it is up to the taxpayer to prove assets are not criminal and that by getting this order for all of coinbase users due to the fact they suspect all of btc use as fraudulent...that would be the next step in this

blanket process...at least for ease of compliance...from the IRS point of view imho. Remember the IRS is under pressure to show progress on crypto..but they have even LESS IRS agents and likely will lose

more....anyway the above is more then possible imho

In other words they already got the summons granted for a blanket cover for all accounts on the fact BTC is likely suspect. Thus this would be the logical next step. Make everyone on coinbase prove they
are complaint as per the premise of the summons. I mean it is the IRS it is how they roll. Smiley

5207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: A4 Dominator - Pre-Order Group Buy - 280mh, roughly 1000w, $1800 + shipping on: December 07, 2016, 12:20:59 PM
Just got an update from Chloe.

Currently batch three has solved the restart and reboot issue by updating both the STM32 MCU firmware and SD card firmware (they have to match each other before the miners can work). We decided to send batch one and batch two customers new STM32 MCU to replace the original ones on boards. You will have to find local expertise to execute the replacement though. And we are thinking of finding some expertise for you.

That isn't a solution, that is a "screw you" response as we have been discussing here.  Inno is leaving us twisting in the wind.  I think if they hold to this policy I have bought the last Inno products I am ever going to buy.  This is completely unacceptable.  And as we have already heard here, it does not sound like B3 has fixed this, unless I am misunderstanding what has been stated from B3 owners.

As the group buy guy who shot 50 units their way. You should be able to get a jig. Send a letter to crypto press
Coindrsk etc. that would piss in their soup. Slow further sales at least. I've so far in pm's got about 9
to pass on A4's ... one was a plus 10 order.  Dumb as way to try and sell units imho by
not honoring warranty.
5208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: A4 Dominator - Pre-Order Group Buy - 280mh, roughly 1000w, $1800 + shipping on: December 06, 2016, 06:20:00 AM

It doesn't sound like they will be selling them, just building and running them themselves, unless I missed something?

Yeah ...looks like DATA HALL all the way from the above to me too. Sad

Also of note....where all the LTC difficulty is coming from.....

A buddy said the unknown pools area for LTC went up way way up recently (see chart) the UNKNOWN area that is of pool shares

So assuming these are the big time Innsilicon ISP investors for the A4 data halls going up..they are running their own pools etc this makes some kinda sense on where the
difficulty on LTC rise came from (imho)

here is the link to current unknown part of LTC pools

https://www.litecoinpool.org/pools

perhaps someone can find a link with what the unknown rate was a couple months ago as a comparison.....I'm not having any luck

others with more skills add on to this ...see if the above has any merit....

anyway what I was told ...a big jump in unknown area of share of pools...on LTC ...thus probably the big A4 investors data halls hitting the LTC world

that's a lot of mining for LTC going down or sideways in price.... A4 ISP big money investors....the regular A4 consumers...this new bw.com miner data hall annoucement...sheesh
not to mention the good old knc titans still going strong on revised 3rd party gen tarkin firmware and cooling/heatsink mods etc..heh...likely good for another 2 years now in
that I myself have cut my dc/dc die temps by 10c to 15c ..sheesh...er anyway moving on.....we be full up on miners....no real ltc development (that I've heard) and pressure
from other alt coins like zcash and ethereum..fun times indeed Sad

Also (further up in this thread I think it was stated) ..anyway ..read that innsilicon on their main page supposedly says they are LTC miners...do not mention scrypt...
thus with that and everyone mining to cash or btc asap to pay off equip ..including the big data hall boys above..this could get real interesting Sad

5209  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase and the IRS. What is the possbile outcome? on: December 05, 2016, 06:20:51 AM

So if the IRS wants when the audit...assuming you are correct with your say btc or ltc mining going out and hitting your wallet in the world at such and such set price.....I mean
your are legit and paying your 25% for regular income tax for mining..so moving on to spending your crypto to usd..

NOW with this coinbase ruling and/or say the mythical IRS audit

any dust you move thru coinbase and/or ALL the btc addresses you've ever used to sell mainly BTC to get BTC products

ALL has to have a RECIEPT  in some manner and if from when you put the BTC or LTC on your wallet ..to the time you paid out your $$$ from such addresses

in that you made a 10c gain say..you have to pay 40% (because you spent it less then 1 day and 1 year..so not 20% capital gains) you have to pay 40% on such or 4c

again .including dust ..because it is on your blockchain record.... so this is gonna be a real mess for a lot of folk

like

what is this expense....oh I got that from a guy on www.bitcointalk.org that fixed a ltc titan cube...so what is his name and reciept IRS guy asks....

you can do this for everything including the soda you bought for BTC and owe 4c at 40% capital gains on such ...fun times...

yeah this is gonna work really really well if the IRS decides it wants to play witch hunt Sad

I've been using a CPA and she has been telling me not to worry about 'dust' stuff..this will drive her crazy....Sad

5210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Expected life of GPU mining in zcash and ethereum? on: December 04, 2016, 10:24:25 AM
There is just way too many people getting involved with mining these days....

I resemble that remark......(My main thrust is LTC mining) ....but built 2 five card rigs for zCash...so we will see.....my pure
'speculative' gamble may not work out too well) Sad

Interesting thou..if ETH goes POS coin..and heck say ETC also does.....what is a guy gonna mine with a
GPU besides Zcash? ...of a reasonable POW coin variety anyway?

Oh well ..live and learn..at least it was not a pre-order ASIC A4 scrypt miner or other Smiley

Core is working on a 2mb hardfork proposal, testing is in progress! Amazing news!

" 4) Some of us also agreed to work on another hardfork proposal including a 2 MB "no wallet changes necessary" block size bump, which we've been making progress on over the past year, including even after conclusion of the original agreement (there is currently a testnet for an incomplete version running)."

http://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/5gcg98/will_there_be_no_capacity_improvements_for_the/darfdyg/

This looks like old BIP103 coded by Sipa / Wullie. Why does his BS boss /CTO  does not use that for reunion the split community?

From what I understand....Core wants BTC mainly to be a 'store of value' thus keeping BTC decentralised away from concentration of miners.....and the miners see this as silly
in that they want to push the block size up to scale with BTC for more adoption and more transactions thus more $$$ in fees for them.....

This impasse may never go away......because imho core could care less if it ever evolves beyond a store of value if the price stays sideways or goes up....

miners however imho are in a worse boat in that eventually, they won't be able to mine BTC anymore due to difficulty and thus decentralization happens from that direction

anyway...

but I'm clueless but it is how I see this....only real way a compromise will happen imho is a crisis where/if/how it is shown in a big price drop that block size increase is really needed
but by then it will be a complete cluster.....anyway power games..no clean hands in this issue I'm afraid

but again I know zip and above could be completely wrong..this just represents my current thoughts on this somewhat lame issue

5212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Expected life of GPU mining in zcash and ethereum? on: December 04, 2016, 08:57:43 AM
13 cents for power is okay for 1 or 2 builds  don't go nuts.

1) can you use the heat it makes?
2) do you have any parts at all?

I've got 14c kwh summer rates (5 months) and 11c kwh winter rates....so have it co-located at maxumark's sever colohub farm. Ave for the year is 11c kwh approximate.

(mainly because he keeps my titans up w/o hassle in that he has his there too)

so 11c kwh can work..but iffy iffy gamble with zcash

worse case I will have 2 nice mining rigs for my share..and sell the other gpu's someday....(cost was 4K) say I make a little of mining for a bit

I figure worse case I'm out 1.5k for the gamble on a gpu rig and zcash and/or other coins (if I use the 2 high end gaming rigs I'd also get ..have not had any of them in 9 years)

the mental hoops one will jump thru to have 'toys' but damn sick of ASIC's at least this way no pre-order scams..no eventual complete doorstop status some day like ASICs

but anyway did this in my rosy optimistic 'before trump as president ....btp days...not so sure when it becomes after trump president ...atp days ..don't ya know) Smiley

being somewhat to the Left of Bernie Sanders...no issues for me in the future right Smiley

anyway I'd pass if I was gonna do it now (esp 2 rigs) then 6 weeks ago when I pulled the trigger....2 was too many (5 gpu rigs) ..not sure about 1 5 card rig thou...the jury is stil out.

Well at least they have a 2 year warranty and I did not break down and pre-order a group buy on the A4 Scrypt miners...that would have been worse imho ...shudder ..them poor folk...
5213  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Chinese police raid miner factories in its oil capital city, 1k+ miners seized on: December 04, 2016, 08:49:05 AM
Obviously they did think they will get away with it and for a while it seemed as if they actually got away with it.

catch is if they had it go to a throw away shed/building and somehow gotten Inet access...and had it mine remote to a BTC address
..then when they eventually got caught..they could walk away..hoping they got away with it long enough to make sense with likely old ASIC machines.

then again in China they probably have 'cameras' everyplace so putting the stuff in would have been iffy

anyway just a thought...if you are gonna try to be a criminal mastermind..I mean work out a criminal mastermind level of planning Smiley

Perhaps I'm mistaken but this does not look as anything officially in the works via bitcoin core
at this time. Just yet another 'proposal' not to be acted on imho. Hope I'm incorrect.
5215  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase and the IRS. What is the possbile outcome? on: December 04, 2016, 05:50:58 AM
As the thread states.what is the outcome

the lazy IRS version of the outcome is they get all these accounts info..they simply run a scrypt of all the accounts BTC addresses on file....and then blanket
ask folk to clarify the individual each transaction of btc movement on coinbase for each address btc you used or from...for tax purposes.....they could automate thiis

and of course if we have no idea at our end what went where no problem..WE were supposed to keep track on paper for all individual btc so IRS worse case is we pay
the tax.you could generate a lot of paper for the taxpayer on coinbase to climb thru for the IRS to say meet our leads

this is gonna be like monkey's flying a plane I tell ya Smiley

5216  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Beaglebone Black (Jupiter Controller) KNC Titan Firmware & Build Instructions on: December 04, 2016, 04:12:06 AM
any custom firmware for titans???

I added support for custom overclocks if a Titan is plugged in, Neptune and Jupiter pickup the padrino firmware overclocks as well.. The big win here is support for running the Titans with a Beaglebone, no RPi and no bridge board required.

You could contact gen tarkin and ask how he licenses his stuff for sale with a code etc locked into the Titan's say BBB etc

then just sell them to folk who get their own BBB imho ..you probably would make enough at the front end ..then chasing the price down on what you need in BTC

on this...as the A4's come out and swamp the scrypt world....ie what I mean is....dropping your price chasing this may not work as well for BTC up front as

just selling the stuff in some manner above NOW for a price you can get for those interested...

quite frankly at the LTC increase in difficulty and the slow slide of all scrypt coins..this could all be kinda  moot by Feb 2017 or March 2017 at this rate of FUD and price.

Anyway ...folk would buy such now and worry about their own BBB to install it on...I'm not sure what kinda interest you will get on this IF complete Titan units

start dumping on the market again at greatly reduced prices due to the above

anyway my view for what it is worth..you SHOULD have tried to get that BBB price last summer you could have got your 10 BTC at that point..now er ..not so much imho Sad

5217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Longest bitcoin transaction that you have waited? on: December 03, 2016, 01:30:25 PM
6 weeks ..was a micro transaction test amount I sent using a new wallet with 'barely' any fee at all...had a 2nd similar one at that same time..still waiting on that one ..(we are talking 30c range more or less for both) .still waiting on that one been 2 years lol Smiley

5218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 03, 2016, 01:28:28 PM
Do you think Tarkin can modify his code to boot with a later pi version? I would gladly pay to see this done, as I was the first to pay for custom work from him for the Titan miner project.

Vegas

Problem is, I dont have physical interaction w/ my Titan and henceforth its RPI...so, I cant really chance updating anything that would cause it to not easily be recoverable =(
That's a problem. I put the BB port on the side for a bit, if someone really wants me to blow a weekend hacking a version of Debian/Pi that will boot let me know.

Damn..it would help us greatly if you could become WEALTHY as well as eccentric...to keep the BBB project and others going on here..don't ya know Smiley Work on that will ya?

By the By I assume the Qberty 2nd batch PI fix attempts are also 'dead' at this time? (going for 100% in the wrong direction..its a theme I tell ya.. ..ho ya ..) Sad

5219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 02, 2016, 07:23:11 PM
My rb pi is a rb pi 3 model B V1.2. Will this work with the Qberty board? Maybe this is why my board does not function? I did not think of this.

How do you tell old version from new?  Heatsinks? The silkscreen on board is the same.
5220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: A4 Dominator - Pre-Order Group Buy - 280mh, roughly 1000w, $1800 + shipping on: December 02, 2016, 12:38:28 PM
Which is going to be easier for the end user?  Replacing the STM or reflashing it?  If it is easier to replace than to reflash then let them send the replacement STM to all of the B1 and B2 buyers.  That saves people shipping stuff all over to get flashed, and yet more risk in something going sideways in the process.  But I am certainly open to suggestions and willing to help anyway I can.

Not sure about electronics, but did they not say in above msg on such ( 5 msgs up) that this is your problem small order chumps?....or begone minions with your lame first adopter problems!
