It is a true statement that India does have the best bowling line up in the history of Indian cricket as all these fast bowlers are capable of troubling any world class batsman around the world and especially when they travel abroad in green pitches they will be more potent if they are able to land the ball at the right areas and if the bowlers can sort their fitness issues then they have the best bowlers in world cricket.

One advantage with the Indian bowling lineup is that they are not over-dependent on any one bowler. For example, when Jasprit Bumrah was injured recently, the other bowlers (Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav) were able to step in and fill the vacuum. The same can't be said about the other teams. New Zealand looked pathetic when Trent Boult couldn't play because of injury. The same was the case with Australia, when Mitchell Starc was ruled out for most part of 2019.

Can't believe this... The England guys just threw away their wickets. They are at 235/9 now. If this is how England performs against a weak South African side (which lost more than half of its top players to the Kolpak loophole), then it reflects poorly on them. From 4/185, they slumped to 9/235. Around 6 overs remaining for today.. and I don't even think that England will survive for that long.
5223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any change this year? on: January 03, 2020, 02:53:00 PM
Back in 2018, I had sold the vast majority of my altcoins. And this year, I plan to sell most of the remaining ones, because I am not seeing any future with them. Even established cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Litecoin are not doing good right now. I will be selling a part of my BTC, and most of my altcoins. As of now, I am holding close to two dozen different cryptocurrencies. I am planning to reduce this number by at least 75%.
5224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Bleeding on: January 03, 2020, 02:35:52 PM
Altcoins hasn't been encouraging investors, lately. I believe it's because more persons are converting their altcoin to Bitcoin. Its been noticed that Bitcoin value hasn't been highly volatile as I can see it's ruminating around $6800 and $7300. I hope the value of Bitcoin experiences a substantial boost anytime soon.

It is obvious, because during the last 6 months, the Bitcoin dominance has risen from 45% to 70%. The market share of the altcoins has fallen by more than half. The exchange data also suggests that a lot of people are converting their altcoins, either to Bitcoin or stablecoins such as USDT and PAXUSD. And more worryingly, this trend is continuing even now.
5225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your altcoins and tokens TODAY, save yourself the frustration on: January 03, 2020, 02:29:33 PM
Anyone who abide by this crypto rule that says 'invest only what you can afford to lose' will always come out with flying colors, selling all your coins and tokens because market is in bad shape is a wrong idea, the best idea is never to rely on a single coin when investing

I would rather disagree with you on that. However, I agree that it is always better to diversify your investments. The problem here is that this logic cannot be applied to cryptocurrencies. The reason is that Bitcoin is the only original cryptocurrency. All the other altcoins can be considered as copycats, which were created in order to profit out from the hype created by Bitcoin. Therefore if you invest in currencies other than Bitcoin, the chances are low that you will be getting positive returns.
5226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 03, 2020, 02:22:33 PM
Did anyone watched today's match between Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League (BBL)? Max Bryant and Chris Lynn scored scorching half centuries for Brisbane Heat and managed to get to a score of 212/3. The Hurricanes fought hard to the very last ball, but fell short by 31 runs. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the quality of this season's BBL. IMO, this is the only T20 league, which can give competition to the IPL in terms of quality.
5227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 03, 2020, 02:15:21 PM
England is in a slightly better position now, with the partnership between Ben Stokes and Ollie Pope taking them to 185/4. Considering the fact that their lower middle order is quite strong (Jos Buttler/Sam Curran/Dominic Bess), I expect them to score at least 300. Also, let's not forget the fact that their no.11 batsman (Stuart Broad) has one test century to his name. No other team can boast of such a no.11 batsman!!!  Grin
5228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Expectation And Reality In The Current Situation on: January 02, 2020, 05:06:20 PM
Indeed seeing the current situation is one opportunity to buy coins. but with the current situation also sometimes makes us feel bored in trading. this condition is not only seen from the graph, but also the development of crypto itself which is currently experiencing a decline. What do you think is the solution to dealing with the development of crypto today?

IMO, there is no need to be so much negative about the current situation. Apart from the decline in the exchange rates, there are a lot of things which are occurring in the background, away from the attention of the vast majority of the users. First of all, many of the useless shitcoins are becoming dead or dormant and the degree of market fragmentation is decreasing. Another thing I have noticed is that many of the established coins (Ethereum for example) are moving from the power-intensive PoW algorithm to the more environmentally friendly PoS algorithm.
5229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Useless projects! on: January 02, 2020, 04:50:04 PM
Giving a comprehensive list of good ICO project will be damn difficult as it stands now. The whole cryptocurrency
are all facing a big downgrade of price due to the market situation. Those projects I have invested on, can't ascertain how good they are now, until the market bounce back to normal

Even if the market situation improves at some time in the future, I don't think that the vast majority of these projects will make a recovery. Because most of them are over-hyped and they are not suitable for the purpose, for which they were created. And if a particular project is not useful in the market, there will be no demand for it, and in the end the exchange rate will drop until it gets delisted from the exchanges.
5230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 02, 2020, 04:40:16 PM
True for majority of games in domestic arena, i am not fan of this strategy. Some pitches are becoming pace friendly though but its not enough. some times i fancy the idea that, what will happen if BCCI try to create pitches according for foreign conditions ( England, Australia, South Africa) they have money, 50+ international cricket stadium and India is big, diverse when we look at weather.

There are a number of pace-friendly pitches in India, including international tracks such as Mohali and Dharmashala. But the problem is that these grounds are with the smaller state boards and they get international games only once every two or three years. Apart from them, more than 90% of the tracks which are used for domestic games are either flat or spin-friendly.
5231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s the best coin to buy apart from bitcoin on: January 02, 2020, 04:26:22 PM
Ever since I started collecting cryptocurrency, I used to think that Ethereum is the best altcoin out there. But now I no longer trust that coin. Repeated vulnerabilities and bugs had a negative impact on the confidence of ETH users. And worse still, the developers seems to be indifferent to these issues. Timelines regarding development are getting delayed and along with that the users are dumping their ETH and moving to BTC or USDT.
5232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to potentially kill(or at least decrease the relevancy) of coins like BSV on: January 02, 2020, 04:20:46 PM
It is a free world and people are at a liberty to put forward their views through any form of media. So it is not possible for us to stop Craig S Wright or Calvin Ayre from spreading propaganda against Bitcoin and claiming that BSV is the real Bitcoin. At the most, we can take out awareness campaigns targeting new users, so that they are better educated about BSV.
5233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 02, 2020, 04:05:10 PM
Man I am old school and I like to see 5 day Test matches. You can not just shrink cricket. If you make it shorter then Test match is not going to be Test match anymore. We will not see another Lara or Matthew Hayden or Don Bradman perhaps.

Completely agreed with what Royse777 posted here. We have two other formats in cricket (for shorter duration games) and therefore it will be better if we leave test cricket as it is. But then, I have to tell something. We will never get to see another player of the caliber of Brian Lara/Sachin Tendulkar or Glenn McGrath/Dale Steyn. These players are most suited for test cricket. Without test cricket, these players would have never become the legends which they are today.

With test cricket fading in to oblivion, we may see more batsmen like Pollard and Gayle who are better in smashing ball outside the park rather than technically superior batsmen such as Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar. The same with bowlers as well. I really doubt whether we'll see a player like Dale Steyn ever again. The future belongs to T20 bowlers, such as Rashid Khan and Mitchell Santner.
5234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 02, 2020, 03:58:13 PM
History is bitch sometimes and no-one should forget that.
(2008) 26/11 terrorist attack changed the dynamics of Cricket diplomacy and back then Congress was the ruling party (IPL ban), it took 5 years to ease the tension and manage any bilateral series. After that i was optimistic for more cricket but then Pathankot,Uri and Pulwama happened, Followed by Article 370 revoked. so it will take some time to cool things off, let's say 5-7 year or may be decade but it will happen eventually.

Call it idiotic view (Which i don't agree) or anything else but it doesn't matter who is ruling Delhi.

Here I have to agree with JSRAW. It is not going to matter which party is ruling India. Right now, sending a cricket team to Pakistan would be like political suicide for any political coalition in India. JSRAW has listed out the incidents that happened in the past, and these events have changed the mood of the common people in India against any sporting ties with Pakistan. So I don't think that a bilateral series between India and Pakistan is going to take place anytime soon, irrespective of the party which is in power in India.
5235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: January 02, 2020, 03:51:54 PM
Tomorrow we have the match between the top ranked FC Goa and the 3rd placed Bengaluru FC. Even if Bengaluru wins this game, they will fail to top the table, as they have only 16 points compared to 21 for FCG. Right now, Goa seems to be comfortably ahead of all the other teams, with a 3 point difference separating them from the second placed ATK.
5236  Economy / Economics / Re: Your plan if no significant move on Bitcoin price along with the halving? on: January 01, 2020, 06:02:52 AM
For me, it is not going to make much of a difference. Because I am in for long-term investment with Bitcoin. I am ready to wait for another 3-4 years, so that I could sell my Bitcoin stash at a considerable profit. Now I need to note down that I had purchased my coins almost 3 years ago (January 2017), when the exchange rates were $900 per coin. Even at current rates, I am sitting on top of 700% profit.
5237  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat currencies on: January 01, 2020, 05:56:12 AM
Yeah we probably won't witness the demise of the dollar in our life times. They can always kick the can further down the road, due to people still trying to get every dollar they can get, just because their paper is even worse.

The United States Dollar is not going to die out anytime soon. As of now, it is one of the strongest fiat currencies in the world. However, its status as the reserve currency of the world can be under threat. Until around the 1920s, the Great Britain Pound was considered as the reserve currency of the world and that was the time when USD replaced it from that position. Sometime in the future, some other currency will replace USD from this position as well.
5238  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat Vs Cryptocurrency, which would you choose? on: January 01, 2020, 05:49:43 AM
If you want to use it as a currency or a mode of payment, then I have to admit that fiat is better under current circumstances. Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies are more suitable for usage as speculative investment assets, and not as mode of payment. High and volatile transaction fee, and the delays in getting confirmations are some of the disadvantages of using BTC for this purpose.
5239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Much WOW?!?! on: January 01, 2020, 05:43:59 AM
Ethereum 2.0, when implemented is going to change ETH upside down. The PoW algorithm will be dumped in favor of PoS, and in my opinion this is going to help the exchange rates. PoW encourages dumping by the miners, and create an excess supply in the market (just like what is happening with BTC right now). On the other hand, in PoS, there is an incentive for holding the coins.
5240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hold on to patience even when it feels like wearing off on: January 01, 2020, 05:36:19 AM
You are not going to gain anything by holding on to an asset which has zero future potential. Intelligent investors sell their asset at the right time. For my part, I sold most of my altcoins two years ago (in 2018), when the future outlook was looking bleak. Now looking back, I am happy that I made that decision then. All the coins that I sold in 2018 lost their value afterwards and some even got delisted from the exchanges.
