This competition has never been important or meaningful. And the fading of its popularity (in fact it is only a decrease in the ecosystem of such contests) is a consequence of global trends. Now everyone can enjoy the beauty that he personally likes - with the help of Instagram, onlyfans or even neural networks. There is no point in watching some outdated contest.
Well, it has been giving high relevance way back then but I think as time goes by, it’s slowly losing its essence as Ms Universe has somehow become rigged already and that probably those winners are not that deserving having that certain title. I know this is all about beauty and brain, but seems nowadays the essence of beauty has gone already, only the brain now that matters the most which for me I totally disagree as both beauty and brain should be constantly present.

We all (and I too) complain about propaganda and distortion, but if you look into the past, it used to be too. Even in these competitions. It is unlikely that in the past one could expect that the winner would be from a communist country, for example. But we generally liked that propaganda, so we don’t remember such facts very well. Modern propaganda is more perverted, so we notice it.

A heavy blow for PSG as this guy is making the difference. To be honest, I don't remember what were the previous quotes for the teams to advance to the next round, but it seems to me that they were worse for Bayern than now: 1.72. It turns out that now Bavaria is a clear favorite in this pair.
Do you feel Bayern Munich are now clear favorites in this tie because Mbappe would prolly miss the first leg encounter? Mbappe is obviously a very important player for PSG, but they are a team with an array of stars that can definitely cover up for what they'll be lacking without Mbappe. Neymar is in tremendous form, and the best player in the world (Lionel Messi) is also in this same team, these kind of players live for big games such are this, and i am pretty sure they are going to turn up on that day and put up a show. Well, even if PSG loses the first leg, i would never think it is because Mbappe was absent, but because Bayerm Munich were the better of the two sides on the night.

Do you mean the "best PR brand" that walks most of the match and has a lot of experience of losing to Bayern (including with a score of 8-2)?  Grin Still, I think that Mbappe would be more useful. Given that the first game will be in Paris and the second game in Munich, even the absence of Mbappe in one game will mean a lot. And if Bayern succeed in the first game, then it will be much more difficult to recoup on a foreign field.

Big match Serie A this week
City rivals Inter and Milan will meet this week at the San Siro
Inter have the potential to dominate the match based on their statistics in the last few matches
Milan's consistency in Serie A seems to have decreased after being hold to a draw in Roma some time ago, Milan continue to experience defeat after that meet. Even a team like Sassuolo managed to embarrass Milan in front of their supporters

I don't think Inter will dominate. Even if Milan has a recession, but Inter has more defeats in the championship than Milan. Bookmakers give about 50% on the fact that Inter will win. I will hope that these teams will draw and Napoli (which will obviously win against Spezia) will have an even greater advantage  Grin
5244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 03, 2023, 05:30:25 PM
Madrid played with all amount of seriousness even from the first half. They needed to win after the draw against Sociedad and I'm happy they achieved it. Marco Asensio's brilliant goal was the main eye-opener after Madrid was so lucked with Valencia's defense that later seemed formidable in The second half. If only Valencia will be able to maintain a good counterattack pattern with the creative central 9, I quest they would have succeeded against strong opponents like Madrid and Villareal.

I don't know what could have been, but in my opinion yesterday Valencia had no chance - Real completely outplayed them. And maybe the score is not 4-0 or 5-0 but if you look at the stats, Valencia has zero shots on target while Real have a whopping 7. Otherwise, Real also dominated. All in all a convincing victory and I hope Real Madrid will continue to play as well in the future.
5245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 03, 2023, 05:18:06 PM
today even with Chelsea's current condition and position in the EPL standing, the book makers are still sighting them to win against Fulham in today's match. 5.40 odd for Fulham is quite a big odd, very tempting odd that can trigger people to take risks. From records and results, Fulham is better than Chelsea. But from individual capacity and strength, Chelsea is quite a better side. If anyone wants to take the risk, The draw odd is good to go with because the probability of drawing is quite larger.

According to the results, Fulham is no better than Chelsea - they have two points more, but they also played one more game. But if we talk strictly formally, then the teams have really similar indicators, and in this case it is reasonable to bet on a draw or an outsider's victory. It's scary to imagine this, of course, because then Chelsea will collapse completely.

Grin Are you constantly posting this to troll? The superiority of the European region is undeniable. First comes Europe and then a few floors below the rest of the regions. Look at the statistics for probably any period (adequate and not "50 years ago") and you will see that Europe dominates. This is a statistical fact and not a matter of personal preference.

The two strongest teams in Qatar 2022 were Argentina and Brazil. No one will deny that. All the other teams (including European teams such as France and Spain) would rank much below them. I agree that France managed to reach the finals, but they were lucky to avoid good opponents during the knockout phase. And one more thing. European teams perform well only when the tournaments are staged in Europe. This time the tournament was being held in Qatar, and teams such as Germany and Belgium had a horrible run.

You write incredible nonsense, sorry. Argentina is much stronger than France? That is why it could only win in the penalty shootout (twice in the tournament lol). And in any case, I'm not talking about single results - I suggest you look at more extensive statistics. Statistically, Europe is above all. And only then in the basement COMNEBOL is better than other regions, but this is only a struggle between the weak, nothing more.

South America (CONMEBOL) is still regarded as the strongest confederation. But now only Argentina and Brazil are among the stronger teams. Look at Qatar 2022. Apart from these two teams, Ecuador and Uruguay also managed to qualify, but they were kicked out in the first round itself. I was surprised by the downslide from Uruguay, because this is a team that reached the semi-final stage of the tournament back in 2010. Other teams like Chile and Colombia couldn't even manage to qualify for the main event.

But I agree that there should be more teams from CONMEBOL. This time there was only 4 (after Peru lost the inter-continental playoff to Australia). For the 2026 edition, there will be 6 guaranteed slots, plus another possible slot from the playoffs. But it is a fact that quality of football in this region has gone down (outside Brazil and Argentina).

5249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much time do you think you have spent gambling? on: February 02, 2023, 08:28:29 PM
I find this to be a curious topic, after reading someone else's posts where they described gambling as if it were their permanent lifestyle/purpose/function.

If there were a "gameplay" timer where the total amount of time you've spent gambling (whether it be online or in person), what do you think the amount would be?
Or if you have lost too many hours to count, how much time do you think the clock would be if it started at the beginning of 2023?
...and do you regret either of those numbers?

Doing such calculations is a way to drive yourself into depression. And I'm not just talking about gambling. If a person has problems with gambling/online games/hobbies, then this can be seen even without calculations. In my opinion, you should not regret anything if you are satisfied with your life. There are no standards for how many hours a day you should be "productive". Sometimes just lying on the couch brings more benefits than incredible work  Grin
5250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: February 02, 2023, 08:22:11 PM
I think Dortmund is far better team between the two, but we are not going to see how it will turn out until the game. It's not going to be easy for either team because they are very much close to each other, and normally I would have expected Dortmund to be much better this season with the amount of money they got, but they didn't get any better, they got even worse. Which is understandable when you lose Haaland, but they didn't replace him well at all.

This is why these  teams are close, normally they shouldn't even be this close, and Dortmund should be much better. I still think Dortmund is the better team, but not by much, they are pretty  close, very near each other.

I wonder what they are close?  Grin Bochum are close to leaving the Bundesliga, while Dortmund are only three points behind Bayern. At the moment, bookmakers give the following quotes for this game:

4.50 - 4.00 - 1.73

And I think that 1.73 for Dortmund is very generous and such a figure can only be explained by the fact that this is the German Cup (little motivation) and Dortmund plays away.
5251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 02, 2023, 08:11:08 PM
Leao has a contract until the summer of 2024, so even if Milan falls out of the top 4, he will play in Milan for another year even without the Champions League (and of course, if some club does not pay compensation for him). Now Milan is trying to convince him to sign a contract until 2026, but the reality is that since they are interested in the player, they will either have to raise his salary or even add a signing bonus.
Milan will not risk keeping him this summer if he refuses to sign a new deal. Getting two numbers between € and m is always better than 0.
I agree that Milan this season is not that interesting as the previous one and this tendency is seen in every Italian club from years. After Juve dominance, no team was able to maintain the first position more than a single year.

It depends how you look at the problem  Wink What is the best number of qualified strikers - 1 or 0? Or do you think that if Leao is sold a year before the end of the contract, then it will be easy to buy a worthy replacement for the amount received? In fact, Milan is facing a challenge where there is no perfect solution, all options have both pluses and minuses, but I think that they will try to keep him.
5252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miss Universe 2023 betting. on: February 02, 2023, 08:06:12 PM
There has been a massive change in how the contest works, and what they are looking for in a contestant. It's definitely different than in the 90s and before where the only thing that mattered was how the women look.

Now they add a lot of geopolitical stuff, and many other things, that might not be related to beauty.

It's a private contest so they can do anything they want, but I guess that's also why it's not so popular these days.

Like I said earlier, in a beauty contest, the primary metric should be "beauty".

I don't have any concern, in case they want to keep other metrics such as political orientation and communication skills, but these should be supplementary. When you have ugly looking winners selected as Miss Universe, just because of the so called "geopolitical concerns", then the contest itself loses its relevance. And this is the exact reason for declining popularity of this contest. I don't expect any changes to the competition format or scoring, as the organizers remain adamant about imposing their political views on others. So in the long term, this competition will become redundant and obsolete.

Kylian Mbappe is doubtful to appear with PSG against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the UCL playoffs. Mbappe suffered an injury during his match yesterday against Montplier, after being fouled so hard by Leo Leroy in that match. This is very detrimental for PSG considering that their opponent in the UCL will be Bayern Munich, who are currently in good condition in the domestic league. And reportedly Mbappe's injury is about 3 weeks and he will miss several other important matches including against Bayern Munich on the 14th of February.

I'm watching the Roma vs Cremonese match, incredibly Cremonese are winning 0-2, and they're confirming themselves as great killers in the Italian cup, reaching the semifinals for them would be an absolute record. strange that Roma play so badly, it seems that the players row against Mourinho

Maybe the players are helping Mourinho (and themselves) to get rid of this unnecessary competition?  Roll Eyes With the fine imposed on Juventus, Roma's chances of getting into the top 4 are incredibly high and I think this is their top priority right now. I think both Mourinho and the players want first of all to get into the Champions League, and not to fight for the national cup.
5255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK sponsored by Utopia on: February 02, 2023, 06:16:02 PM
Strange analysis. I think if McKenna had punched Fury in the jaw, he would have knocked him out. The problem of a knockout is not the strength of the head, but an accented punch. If the boxer managed to do it, then the opponent falls. Usyk may well first outbox Fury and then “finish off” with a knockout punch when Fury is no longer able to defend himself. This is often the case in pairs of a smart boxer against a puncher: if a smart boxer survives in the early rounds, then in the end he will knock out and not him. Plus, this applies mainly to smaller weight categories - here, even in the first round, one lucky punch from any boxer can end the fight.

People dont fell down from accented punch, they get knocked out by the punch they dont see. Accented punch can daze an opponent, that maximum. Nevertheless, those airbegs will be what Usyk will break his wrists against off.

I dont see Usyk winning this fight, no matter how hard he will try. People see only fat side of Fury, they think he is slow and clumsy. But he will be as fast as Usyk, heavier and more powerful than Usyk. Usyk will fight in his typical manner - lots of punches and movement/counter every punch with 3-4 of his own. Usyk can circle around Fury, but his punches wont be much effective. Fury can even allow to open himself for a punch, withstand it and counter his own punch, that Usyk wont withstand.

That is how I see their confrontation.

Wow, why did you take a break from writing fantasy stories and start commenting on boxing?  Grin Please read about the medical nature of knockout, just for self-education.

As for the picture of the battle that you drew, if you remove the fantastic part, it turns out that Usyk will win on points  Grin In fact, we will see something like a repetition of the battle with AJ. Although myself I see a different scenario.
5256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 02, 2023, 06:05:38 PM
Real Madrid in my opinion, is sure to win this game that’s starting in a few hours from now. They would be hungry for the goals and a win and would go for it with all they’ve got. They’ve got a reason to win irrespective of if they’re playing at home or not.

They’re well aware of Barcelona ahead of them sitting at the top of the league and they desperately need a win to catch up with Barcelona.
I think Real Madrid would win the game though would find it a bit difficult to win as Valencia would also want to either get the three points or to hold Madrid to a draw.

On paper, Real Madrid should win easily today. Valencia have 4 defeats in the last 6 games and in general they look weak being one point away from the relegation zone. I don’t know why bookmakers are so generous and give such quotes for today’s game:

1.37 - 5.10 - 8.80

+37% in a game where Real will play without the right to make a mistake (it can't let Barcelona go too far) looks attractive.

Even though Varane is not even 30 years old but Varane has decided to retire from the national team, I think it is a decision too fast. Because after all, even if for example Varane still plays for the national team, of course Varane will still have a good focus on Manchester United.
But yes, of course there will be reasons that are more understandable to himself, because I personally am not sure if the reason is to focus on Manchester United that makes Varane choose to retire from the national team.

Damn. How quickly time flies. For some reason, Varan is still perceived for me as "that new talented defender in Real Madrid"  Grin Actually I can understand him - he has the gold and silver of the World Cups and he has reached the top in the national team, the rest will be just repetition. But on the other hand, if you look at the club level, then he also has everything (with Real Madrid), does he really have a total lack of motivation? I hope at least at the club level he does not experience problems with this.

5260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: February 01, 2023, 09:32:59 PM
AI will not perfect predictions. Definitely, it can overlook something it can't make a better prediction, it only be following the statistics which I think is the first that AI will look at before comparing the skills of the team members or a fighter and then searching for the bookmaker's favorite team. And as a result, it will be its pick. Not so much of a technical comparison of what players can do.

AI has to be sophisticated enough to independently choose a team beyond what bookmakers could see. Like the previous 10 fights in thier early competition before the athlete joins the pro boxing or NBA.

AI is data processing algorithms. If there is no data, then it is obvious that AI will not be able to make predictions (especially true ones) based on missing data. But as we all see, neural networks are developing at a tremendous speed and very soon AI will be able to extract data itself (from news, videos, etc.) without relying on the fact that a person will provide it with them. And I think that such an AI forecaster will be much more accurate than today's best quote providers.
