5241  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: should i care about mining as a trader? on: August 26, 2017, 05:37:23 PM
My name isn't going to produce anything for you. The only reason to mine in the past before trading was to put together your starter cash. There's simply no way that's going to happen these days. The only time we mine anything at all is some of the brand new coins and then we quickly mine a bunch of coins and hold those to see what happened to us of them. But for trading, your starter money pretty much has to come from your finances..
5242  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I invest (safely) in Bitcoin for the long term? on: August 26, 2017, 05:08:58 PM
As long as you have confidence that you have a computer that's not going to become irreparable or damaged, and you have no intention of moving around anytime soon then obviously the best choice is a nice lightweight software wallet, make sure the coins are in there and thoroughly confirmed, shut it down and leave it alone except for possibly making a backup of the wallet data in a different location.
5243  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin among conglomerates on: August 26, 2017, 04:53:07 PM
Your title made me think one thing, and then your post seem like it was going in a different direction. For conglomerates and corporations, smart contracts and tokens would be one of the main things that would attract them. The fact that apparent token or coin is completely transparent is great for some transactions at the corporate level, for example to buy and sale of stock.
5244  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price BTC after 23 August? on: August 26, 2017, 05:41:26 AM
I think August 23rd is becoming one of the biggest disappointments as far as drama for a lot of people. It seemed like they were all into arguing whether they should take place or not and then once August 1st past they just didn't care. I think they were more about the argument and less about the end result. I have not seen much of a mention at all of August 23rd, I think the solar eclipse got more attention than August 23rd did even on this forum.
5245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Suggest some good Altcoins for longterm investment!!! on: August 26, 2017, 04:51:01 AM
It is impossible to tell. It is pretty easy to actually predict how coins are going to act in a very short-term area and make money off of those changes. But which one is going to be sitting out there 6 months in a year down the road is hard to tell. A lot of times it's based on a new technology is being brought into the coin, or a new business idea, but some of the things you would think would make a coin popular in the long run are the things that end up dragging it down.
5246  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where can i learn to use the market to make a profit on: August 26, 2017, 04:24:11 AM
First things first, start with the actual stock market. That's where you going to learn a lot of terminology. If you get to one of the exchanges and look at one of the order Pages between two currencies., you'll see things that can be confusing to some people don't be 3 prices on there, to ask, the bid, and usually the last. You will need a lot of experience to fully grab all these concepts.
5247  Economy / Economics / Re: Pump and dump is the name of the game. on: August 26, 2017, 04:07:44 AM
Between information, rumor control and that method of controlling a price for a coin, the next most powerful thing that a person can do is to actually buy and sell that coin, with a two-person team they can literally create the price. The old adage of a product is only worth what someone will pay for it creates a mathematical equation that is illegal to fill in both sides out in the stock market but it's completely uncontrolled on a cryptocurrency exchanges.
5248  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I WAS SCAMMED BY A LEGENDARY MEMBER (glen123) on: August 26, 2017, 03:56:06 AM
You know all that rank means is that is somebody has been on a website for a certain period of time and answered or created a certain number of questions or answers or comments. This is something that's not hard to do it all. The biggest thing is going to hold most people back is time itself. Just because somebody has been going to the same business for years, or they've been doing the same routine for years doesn't make them a trusted member of society it just makes them somebody with a habit or somebody that likes to do the same thing over and over again. Put trust where you believe you can put Trust I do not listen to anybody else.
5249  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My first day of trading on: August 26, 2017, 03:21:27 AM
A couple days ago I transfered enough from my bank account to buy 1 Bit coin.  While waiting for the $ to make it from the bank to the exchange I had $75.00 invested so could use it to practice with.  Keep in mind that I had no experience with bit coin trading and my past day trading did not go well.

Today I saw that SC (Siacoin) was above 10% and volume was above 10,000.  It was also very active pumping up and down.  I did four buy and sell trades, not aiming for much more than 5% profit on each one and increased my $75.00 to $91.00.  It was a great leaning experience.  Also very humbling because on the first trade I made a mistake and lucked out.

Scott

Little bit slow for a first day but I guess you did all right. I don't understand why you're here telling everybody about it. Fact is that what you need to concentrate on is just one thing and one thing only and that's your trading don't tell anybody about it don't ask questions just get it done and get it done properly. If you have some secrets of trading, better dont reveal them and keep them save for you only.
5250  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: starting a bitcoin service. Need your advice on: August 25, 2017, 05:13:26 PM
This is a very dangerous time. For anyone who wants to start any service with Bitcoins for cryptocurrency. The fact is that the laws and regulations are lax enough that a poorly-run business or service, or an outright scam, has just enough leeway to get in there cause trouble and steal money from people.

However, ever since the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016 with a very pivotal Florida legal case, there is definitely an Avenue that some clients can take in some cases to recover lost funds whether the company lost in purposely or through poor management. So you find yourself in a business environment that welcomes brand new services with very little regulation until it comes to the Fiat but you are also right on the border of a time period when a service or business that fails can find itself legally and monetarily held accountable.
5251  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any Reputable Bitcoin Lending Sites ? on: August 25, 2017, 02:47:11 PM
I cannot vouch for anything other than the fact that they've been there for a while when I mentioned a website called btcpop. I haven't actually been on that website quite some time but one of their main services the last that I know of was to act as the middleman between people that want to borrow Bitcoin and people that want to loan Bitcoin.

The process itself I don't know if it was protected by escrow by the website but it did seem like it had a reputation system in there for people to rate each other on how the repayment of the loans went and several other systems that would at least provide some protection there. I also know that poloneix, if you look at your transfers in the wallets allow users to transfer some of their Bitcoin Holdings into wallet specifically set aside for loans to other users.
5252  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: just what is escrow? on: August 25, 2017, 02:41:05 PM
The main use of escrow outside of the cryptocurrency world is in the purchase of high-dollar items that have a window between the beginning of the purchase and the final signing of the contract. The best example, and the most common use is buying a house. Let's say that you're buying a nice little $100,000 house, obviously you're not paying cash, so the bank has approved you for $100,000 loan. The company that you buy the house from has a long process to have to go through that can take anywhere from a couple of days to a week to actually get the entire sale completed. Some of the things can actually change during this process and the sale might fail at some point, there may be a change Credit One of the buyers or the company itself may find a reason to deny the buyer or the buyers themselves they change mind.

The bank has actually electronically satisfied $100,000 for you, probably more like 130 5 or $140,000 to include all the taxes and fees but you get the idea so they have this money set aside for you. Now during this interim process period neither the bank, nor the company that owns the home, has the right to hold those funds. Show the bank transfer them to an escrow company that is bonded and has address to track record.
5253  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN GROWTH FUND! on: August 25, 2017, 02:26:39 PM
Yeah I don't see that as an actual token that can be traded or touched in any way. Not to mention the fact it's giving a lot of control over your finances to somebody else. The construction of a basic hedge fund is not complicated. You can go online and look at mutual funds that are developed as hedge funds and compare the structure of the companies that are invested in with what you want to do with your cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is obviously not going anywhere but up, so that is your Walmart of cryptocurrency, in fact it behaves and reforms a lot better than Walmart does the stock market. So as part of your hedge fund, make sure that you have at least 33% to 50% and Bitcoins.
5254  Other / Archival / Re: True Flip - Become a shareholder of world's largest blockchain lottery on: August 24, 2017, 02:27:14 PM
It would be a nice take on the word shareholder, although it's pretty much impossible to do with cryptocurrency. Not in every single decision that made in a company, but in voting assemblies many times the shareholders actually take an active part in some of the choices that are made for the company. This is not something that's true all the time and like I said they're not sitting there at the office with the chairman of the board, but the person that is controlling that company has been elected by the shareholders. It would be nice for some of the people that actually buy in at very large numbers into your Ico two have a quote unquote controlling interest.
5255  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Is Not Really A Good Money on: August 24, 2017, 01:07:25 PM
There really is no perfect system. Every time that you try to accommodate one need ,, you end up either creating another issue or making some small flaw larger. The same is true for Bitcoin. In order to keep things completely anonymous you have to do away with services like exchanges and other online services. In order to keep things completely decentralized you have to do the same thing.
5256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit Activation any time now... on: August 24, 2017, 10:28:57 AM

Segwit activation in four blocks - why isn't anyone talking about this?

I was just talking about this in another thread, I do believe that the cryptocurrency Traders and forum members have beCome A large group of silenece. It seems that the only reason that people were talking about August 1st was the fact that was an argument involved and people had to choose sides. But now what's the argument is over, the actual results that the argument was about have little importance to me. Or maybe it's just a fact that whether they like it or do not have simply accepted the fact and don't really feel like talking about it.  Wink
5257  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you place all your funds into bitcoin? on: August 24, 2017, 09:54:54 AM
I'm one of those that will tell you that for at least another five years you were going to get a study rise out of Bitcoin. That is based on the history of the coin and the direction that it's going. I have 100% confidence and getting at least another two years of upward price movement with Bitcoin. That being said, I would not ever put 100% of my Assets in anything. That is the end-all and be-all of your financial life.
5258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Auctus | Smart Contracts Powered Pension Funds on: August 19, 2017, 03:25:08 PM
Obviously I don't think that simply using the word pension in association with the service is where that regulation begins, but you need to be careful. This is very simply one of those nice business ideas, you put it out there, it catches on starts making money 5 years down the road you and your business associates are doing very well. And then a knock on the door changes everything.
5259  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] K&T Crypto Hosting Services on: August 19, 2017, 02:49:41 PM
The only information that I see missing is your actual website. I haven't had on here you're going to add trust there's no reason website should had trust, but that's the way that most people think on forms like this and other sites. If you have a site that will be considered as a more trusted option. However I think if its legit project, it is a very good one indeed.
5260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POLL: Will you pay 100$ to open a channel on the Lightning Network? on: August 19, 2017, 02:40:04 PM
Not a chance in hell. It's coming to the point where projects and  have to recover their money if they put into it somehow. For example somebody to set up a mining Farm and realizes it's not going to turn anywhere near the revenue that they thought, so they start renting out the mining equipment. Seems like the lightning Network did take off the way they thought it was going to so they're putting a pretty hefty price on buying into setting up your own Network
