The esteemed professor must be lecturing or something.
Its about 5.40 pm in Brazil so he's probably driving back home after a hard days lecturing. Is it Brazil that has huge traffic jams or somewhere else? He'll likely also have his dinner before he starts posting here so give it a few more hours. Actually at 5:40 PM I was planning to prepare to gather will power to start writing a quiz for my 21:00-23:00 class. Going home now... Yeah! Science, bitch! You show 'em Mr. White. Mr. White? wtf???

What happened to double digits?!
Faded into ancient history. Remember 2 years ago when a certain moderator declared "no more triple digits in 2013" and all the bears were braying about the coming of single-digit BTC prices? Take that and multiply by 10.

In the last few weeks and months when the price gets to over $240 there is usually a dump to $220. It seemed like a whale was dumping the price to keep it at that level. But now there has been no dump. What is happening?
What are you talking about? Since April it touched $220 on exactly one day, June 1. We had our dump today. All the way down under $260. It may get dumped further but don't expect it to go below $250. $220 is a pipe dream. I know you'd love to buy some more cheap coins (we all would) but $220 is just wishful thinking. Get a grip on reality.

god damn I've missed this thread.
where's troll chop and trolfi?
I think Jeannie was banned but her sox have come out with the small correction/dip. Adam seems to be doing a reasonably good stoop-and-scoop job of deleting the lambsox droppings from this thread. The esteemed professor must be lecturing or something.

how can greeks buy bitcoin if there banking services are halted?
Not everybody keeps their money in the bank. Also not everybody is an employee. Small business owners who receive their revenues in cash are prime candidates for buying bitcoins.

Volume spike and a lot of profit taking.
Ah, there it is. Last night I got admonished for using the word "inevitable" regarding the expected profit-taking/correction from this rally. Let's see if it holds over $260. I think staying over $255 is pretty much a given. Edit: Another thing that is inevitable is the spate of beartroll/sockpuppet posts following any dip of a few dollars.

anybody who wants to make serious money is going to have to HODL for years. I'm willing to wait 15-20 years if I have to, I'm in my late 20's I have time on my side.
I'm in my late 60s and time is on my side too. My modest Bitcoin holding (3 digits) was bought with spare cash so if it were to somehow fail, it wouldn't be any great disaster. If on the other hand, it reaches 5 digits or more in dollar value, it could allow me some extra luxuries when I reach old age. Over the years I've spoiled myself with fine consumables and a decadent lifestyle. When the time comes that I need help, I'd rather be in a position of hiring and firing my own hand-picked caregivers instead of having to live is some seniors' gulag.

I've been real surprised to see the kind of offense that your Blue Jays have been putting out for the last month or so. Our Tigers are just getting a few of our stars back so we should be making a run after KC and get us back where we should be.
Actually the Jays' offense has been the best in MLB all season but their pitching was abysmal. It was when the pitching started to come around in June that they started to move into contention. Good luck to your Tigers. My mother grew up in Windsor so they've always been one of my favorite teams. Too bad they got moved to the Central Division. I loved rivalry we had in the days of Stieb and Morris. I never hated them like the Red Sux or Yankees. They always had class. I'd love to see the Royals miss the postseason. Their hacking of the ASG voting system pisses be off. Miguel Cabrera and Josh Donaldson should be in the ASG, not a bunch of Royals scrubs. Meanwhile (just to stay on topic) we seem to be going sideways in the mid-$260s. This is a good thing. Slowly and steadily upward wins the race.

I see we have a bullish new poll to go with the upswing. Too bullish maybe? At least it's not based on how low we'll go, like many recent polls. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

To me it's as automatic as checking the weather and the baseball scores (during season) when I wake up.
That's when I log in here and say good morning.

Time to get back in the game...
The time to get back in the game (if you missed the bargains of mid-January) was from mid-April until early June.

Feels so strange to be at 266 again. Maybe it's the last time?
I thought when we broke $260 we'd bounce back down to the high $250s and go sideways there for a while. Maybe we'll go sideways in the $260s instead. The market probably needs to catch its breath. Then again, maybe this little rally isn't done yet.

btc up, eur down. What a nice day. mmm.. coffee ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Seems we're on opposite ends of our days. It's 3:00AM here. I'll join you for a delicious cup of coffee at the crack of noon. For now, I'll pour myself another wee nightcap. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) What's your poison Jimbo? (I'm a bourbon man myself) I generally try to stick to my Guinness Extra Stout but the vendors in the stands at the SkyDome don't sell it so I was drinking Budwater at last night's game. For my nightcap last night it was a little Taylor's Late Bottled Vintage Port with some 6-year-old raw milk Ontario cheddar and some slightly overripe St. Sevarin.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Excellent morning even.
Not only did we manage to hold last night's gains and stay over $260, we've passed $266 again and reached a new high for June.
I'd have been happy just to be done with the $240s for good. Maybe we'll even stay over $260.
Time for coffee, not to fight boredom but to clear the cobwebs from my nightcaps during last night's little rally. Mmmm.

Yes, been lurking for a long time. Feeling the charts, the timing. Just feels right now. I make my prediction: 25 percent up for July.
Don't let the Technical Analysis cultists intimidate you. Your gut feelings are probably just as valuable as TA when it comes to Bitcoin. A good foundation in Bitcoin history and current events helps too. We'll see who's right.

yeah , this time to make some profit , i cant believe i can so easily play secondstrade usd/btc predictions , i have converted my 4$ to 12 $ btc , hope i will quit now , with this. can anyone give me a valid explanation why BTC price is suddenly becoming too high since last 2 days. please give only serious reply
There's not a specific reason. Some say it's due to the Greeks buying Bitcoin (that's doubtful). I would think it's others taking example from the Greeks and taking out some of their fiat and investing it into Gold or Bitcoin. Or it could be that it was simply overdue, like in October 2013.

That little bounce down under $266 obviously wasn't the awaited correction/profit-taking I was expecting. It's already on its way back up.
Let's see how far this goes.

if you think you can apply normal rules from other venues like forex and stocks here you are going to get burned badly.
It's amazing how many people can't seem to grasp that simple fact. That's the main reason I take traditional Technical Analysis with a grain of salt regarding Bitcoin.
