5261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 29, 2020, 05:30:48 AM
Milan's victory was quite good despite having extra time too but Milan have started to show their best results in the quarter-finals and now meeting Juventus in the SemiFinal is a very tough opponent for Milan.
Milan has really improved, and they must continue that way and build up momentum, even for next season. Winning a silverware could do the trick for them and they are in the semifinal of the coppa Italian, the only bad news now is that they have to face Juventus.

Milan must find a way to win this game and make it to the final, they have been left in the drought for a very long time, now they must take this tournament like its their last, Juve have always been winners, Milan fans would hope they get a little bit complacent so their team could capitalize on that.
5262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On most altcoins disappearing on: January 28, 2020, 09:41:27 PM
What my mind tells me is that if majority or almost all of the shitcoins disappear, then it will be positive news for the "altcoin" market, since there will be limited altcoins and investors that have lost money and are still losing money when they are searching for good projects will have good options to choose from to invest in.

But the bitcoin may not benefit from the elimination of shitcoins, bitcoins controls the market imo and the altcoins market doesn't have too much influence on the bitcoin, I think we should be more inquisitive about if bitcoin crashes, what becomes of altcoins.
5263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2020 the year of Bitcoin technology getting accepted by governments on: January 28, 2020, 08:45:11 AM
If you say 2020 will be the year of the blockchain technology, not that it's correct, but it may just turn out to be true, but that wouldn't then make it bitcoins year. Many governments and businesses would use the bitcoin network this year and will continue to use it, but that wouldn't make them adopt bitcoin as a cryptocurrency for their use

It's also vise versa, my country is developing, but bitcoiners are growing massively here, but other than being used for bitcoin protocols, the blockchain technology isn't used at all.
5264  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie, BTT Rating. on: January 27, 2020, 11:45:47 PM
My thought was that ranking is directly proportional to the time and Number of quality posts.
Your thoughts aren't wrong by the way, time can mean activity, and that's baesd on how often you post, if you do not post at all, you'll not rank up. Quality posts gets merits, so this also covers that part, merits are given to quality posts and those merits are what enables you to rank up. So on your thoughts, If you spend your time on the forum making quality posts then you'll rank up.
Hi guys.
I just join this platform not quiet long.
Just one month ago and your post history "reads" bounty reports only.
5265  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 3 smart ways to bet on the upcoming bitcoin halvening with options on: January 27, 2020, 11:08:30 PM
There are two kinds on investor  short and long then there is a trader. As for me I am short ter investor and for a person like me halving is the right time to accumulate till end of April and then sell.
I can only understand your situation and what you feel towards this forthcoming bitcoin event, this is the first bitcoin halving I've experienced as a bitcoin trader/investor, and I've read so much positive information about it in the past and I know you have too, and that's the reason why you wish to accumulate bitcoins till that period and sell immediately afterwards.
I'll also buy bitcoins as I've been doing for sometime now, I'll closely be watching the period before and after the halving, this network can really be tricky, I would not do what I wouldn't ordinarily do, like buying "more than my pocket" and I wouldn't be selling immediately.
5266  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Minimizing the risk- How much possible it is? on: January 27, 2020, 10:40:43 PM
Are we safe to say investing on both these coins are minimizing the risk
No, with my understanding of trading, investing in two altcoins isn't minimizing the risk, you can research on two altcoins and yet they turn out to be shitcoins. Investing in many altcoins raises the risk of losses because I don't trust altcoins diversification as they are so many and you cannot pick out the one that will be the right one for your investment plans.
I have got this site providing correlation of different altcoin against bitcoin- https://coinpredictor.io/altcoins
Can this site be trusted, do you think a trader can invest based on their predictions?
5267  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitcoin's price could crash soon by 20%? on: January 27, 2020, 06:27:27 AM
Many times you can not trust the information of this type of articles,
I would even go as far as saying they aren't to be trusted all of the times, looking through most of their articles that they mostly post here about either a bitcoin rise and fall you'll understand that they just predict without even having any facts or without any proper research, this just creates FUD for those who've not been bitcoin investors for a very long time and may not know that they have nothing to worry about.

What OP's article predicts could happen, but it's good for users, especially newbies to know that's it's only but speculations, and that the fall could also welcome a rise in the price, so people do not panic and sell.

5268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 26, 2020, 02:22:07 PM
Good ol' Inter is back!...To those who don't know, this has been Inter for the past few years, first half of the season they're fighting for the top spot, then everyting's starts to fall apart as soon as the 2nd half of the season begins  Roll Eyes
I thought conte would be able to change all that, fight till the end and bring win the title with inter, but none of that looks like happening for them, they are capitulating slowly and I wouldn't be too surprised if juventus wins the title with over 8-10 points gap at the end of the season.

All inter can pray for now is for Napoli to do them a favor and beat juventus today, if that happens, then it's a 3 point lead and still recoverable for inter Milan, but we all know Juve would see this game out later today.
5269  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How Can A Trader in this Business Protect Themselves Against Volatility Risk? on: January 26, 2020, 12:34:17 PM
The only way a trader can avoid volatility with bitcoin is if the market itself becomes stable and involatile, but for now, it's not. So many users have asked this question, how can you avoid loss in a volatile market: Since you cannot predict what will happen when investing, using funds you can afford to lose is advisable, since volatility is beyond your control, controlling the amount of funds that'll either be giving you profit or loss is a good strategy to reduce the effects of volatility.

Stop loss also helps a trader to maintain a minimal amount of loss and inevitable volatility, you can try using the feature, and set it up based on your preference, but if you want a stable market, then cryptocurrency trading isn't for you.
5270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 26, 2020, 10:42:25 AM
Today Inter Milan vs Cagliari aired early.
I am sure Inter Milan will pursue the main points in this match because they do not want to be left behind from Juventus.
If inter Milan lose this game and juventus wins, then a 7 point lead would be open at the top of the table and that should be that for inter's hopes of winning the seria A this season. Though inter has all it takes to come out with all three points and I know they will, if they can close the gap to one point at least before juventus plays Napoli, it'll be good and maybe just put juve under a little pressure before their game.

If the seria A goes to juve again this season, then I think it'll really be disappointing, not just for inter, but for the other teams, a new champion would make things more competitive and interesting, but the possibility of that happening looks to be fading away.
5271  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The harmful side of quick merit earn method. on: January 26, 2020, 09:43:37 AM
It is better to avoid shortcuts. I don't mind ranking up like a snail(slowly), so far I'm learning so much along the way as i rank up. Those "smart" shortcuts are not supposed to even be an option, you could be winning with them for a moment, but a time could come and everything would be unravelled, where would you start from again then.

If you have intentions of being in the forum for a long time, do what's right and ethical, I'll prefer being on the forum just to discuss even without ranking up, than ranking up through plagiarised texts and getting a permanent ban eventually.
5272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Held a bitcoin seminar today on: January 26, 2020, 07:54:50 AM
I have never been shy to talk to people about bitcoin, I've even posted about it in the forum sometimes of how I discuss with friends and coursemates about bitcoin in school also, I didn't actually brand it a seminar because I felt my audience had to be of a particular number for me to call it that, but whatever it's called, it's good to tell those who do not know what bitcoin is all about.

I was also considering of arranging for a lecture/seminar with the approval of my lecturer in my large school hall about bitcoin, it was just in my head, but this post has emboldened me to pursue for it, I'll like to see how the turn out will be, their interest, what they may think of bitcoin and bitcoiners etc.
5273  Economy / Speculation / Re: Corona Virus will Impact the price of Bitcoin ? on: January 26, 2020, 07:32:21 AM
There are so many health issues, viruses and life threatening infections in the world today, if you're to make the corona virus an issue that affects the bitcoin price, you can also say that Malaria and typhoid infections can also affect it's price, not just that, even the HIV virus we find in most parts of Africa can also have a thing to do with BTC price.

There are so many disasters/viruses/bacteria, natural phenomenon that takes lives in the world today, can they all have an effect on the bitcoin price, no they can't, and even if they do, you can't be sure exactly how they do, and it's better not to create any connection to them.
5274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FA Cup and EFL Cup Prediction Thread on: January 25, 2020, 08:17:16 PM
The Man City vs Man Utd League Cup semi final is basically decided, City have a good lead, I don’t see United turning that round.
3 1 is actually a very comfortable lead for Manchester city going into the second leg and that should be enough for them to progress into the final, but with how shaky and erratic city defense has been this season, then I may not give it to them as of yet, if Manchester United can stop City from scoring in the second leg, then anything can happen, but can they still city from putting the ball in the net at the etihad  Huh
The Leicester vs Villa tie is more interesting, I think Leicester would have a much better chance to beat City in a potential final so I will root for them.
For the neutrals, a Leicester Vs City final would be better, but I'm sure City fans will be praying for Villa in the final if they make it there, as for the English Fa, no doubt for more publicity they'll also want to see either City/united Vs Leicester in the final.
5275  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why now using merit? on: January 25, 2020, 03:03:17 PM
Please keep in mind that the post which we make regardless of insight it provides might not be useful for the one who already knows that,
The post must not be useful to the meriter before they give merits to it, if it was to be that way then merit sources may find it very difficult to give merits to newbies, since there's every chance anything posted by them is already known by the merit sources since they are high ranked members and have been involved with bitcoin for a longer period or duration of time.

Many merit sources have stated before that they give out merits to even posts they do not even agree with. If it's useful for some and it's a good post, it "could" get merits.
5276  Other / Meta / Re: Is this an error or forum really accept this kind of scenario. on: January 25, 2020, 11:24:38 AM
Report thread, specify reference, wait a short while. Problem solved Smiley
The problem has rightfully been solved, the second post has been trashed by a moderator I think, quick response and thumbs up to all those who reported the post and who report posts when it's needed.

This thread can be locked imo now.
5277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 25, 2020, 07:58:06 AM
We're playing Manchester City in April then Arsenal and Chelsea by May. The way I see it, We can with the Premier League with an unbeaten streak. 112 points might not be possible. I estimate around 106 points or more. That accounts for winning 13 of 15 games remaining.
The fixture schedule may not be good for their quest to finish this season unbeaten in the English premier league, if they don't get tired legs anytime soon, then they should be champions before they face City, Arsenal and Chelsea, those are big games and difficult games to win especially when you know the title is already yours, I see them losing maybe two games in the closing matches of the Epl.
It's a boring weekend because there aren't any EPL matches this week.
Any weekend without the Epl is automatically a boring one, but it's more comforting for us to have to watch the Fa cup than if it had been an international break, I hate those weekends.
5278  Other / Meta / Re: Where’s this year's happy second birthday to the Merit System’s thread? on: January 24, 2020, 09:15:02 PM
I wasn't around when the merit system was introduced, so I may not be able to understand what the feeling was like for users when it was set in motion, but if it was something close to the "trauma" it caused for so many newbies during the Enhancement of newbie restrictions and requirements, then it must have been some tumult, but just as the restrictions promoted quality posts, that was the same effect the merit system had from its first day till today.

Long live the merit system!
5279  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Poll - How did you find out about Bitcointalk? on: January 24, 2020, 08:38:58 PM
I have a friend who wouldn't stop talking about bitcoin and bitcointalk, voluntarily or involuntarily he aroused my interest in the both of them, being the inquisitive person that I am, I decided to try it out, but that's now being about one of the best decisions I've made.

I think I've also return that favor a couple of times as I can't stop talking about bitcoin and bitcointalk to those around me Cheesy
5280  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Conquering the impossible on: January 24, 2020, 06:11:58 PM
OP is not a "bad forum" member imo, neither is the merits earned not an achievement, but this encouragement thread isn't well constructed and not well presented. OP didn't rank up to full member recently, I think he's been a full member for a while, so just posting now about how long the journey was to full member and how close he is to the next rank(not so close though)looks like merit hunting.
And yes, Beginner & Help board is turning into one filled up with merit-bait threads which is annoying.
I do not agree with that, the beginners board has really improved, more positive threads than the opposite, scam busted threads, good polls, good newbie question and rank up threads which is also a good sign for the forum, never mind the intention.
