RingPiece technology cannot be penetrated, even by packet-sniffers?

It's "RingaDing technology" actually.

26.5k krill account for sale.  200 chips or best offer.  Pm me.

Is that legal to buy/sell accounts? Would guess probably not

I think that legal is the wrong word in this context.  Smiley

Account selling makes me feel sad for playing to get my meager amount of krill.  I think I could prolly bargain for a much badasser acount for way less than the cost of playing.  Anyway, I'm still holding out hope that that one day micon is going to give me a cool avatar which encapsulates 3 imporant aspects:

1) tspacepilot has been on our site for a fucking long time
2) tspacepilot is generally a terrible poker player
3) tspacepilot is an ok guy anyway

Oh.  we'd have the same avatar then.

Why are you provoking people with bigoted red neck attitudes?

Lol irony.

Let me know if you think it's a good idea that MEW set up a Monero Forum?

IMO yes but not yet, XMR is too young and it needs the visibility it receives here to attract more users, especially when the next wave of new blood arrives during the next BTC uptrend.

This.  Timing is everything.
5265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: September 11, 2014, 05:45:12 AM

1. You've got to make the anonymous currency popular enough that you less often need to convert it to fiat in order to use it. The anonymous coin must be a currency, not a silly investor pump like Monero.

I believe if Bitcoin or any other public ledger crypto becomes that ubiquitous Monero can ride on it's popularity as transactions can be done anonymously with a single bitcoin point with a single address for a single transaction.  And Monero becomes a store of value.

In this case Monero can also begin to be used directly for transactions.

Simple.

In order to continue attracting the most number of new users, the database update would need to be completed.

Absolutely, totally true and correct.

Now can we please go a 4 pages without  any more whinging about it?  (Not pointed at you specifically, btc-mike.)

Here's a proposal:  Anyone whinging for the next week, who hasn't donated at least 100 XMR to the core address (cf. XMR OP), gets whacked.

Do you mean you are gonna hitman them?

XMR volume was solidly #3 today behind BTC and LTC. Only DOGE beats it out for weekly volume.

I'm not sure if you guys noticed but you can withdraw XMR from Poloniex directly to your bank card, check the announcement at the Poloniex homepage. You have to buy XUSD and withdraw it through Coinomat.com

The fees are hideous, but it's a cool service and idea.

Okay, Mr Random, you're right about the coin market cap.

In saying that, I'm not sure how much XMR is being introduced daily by miners. the last time I bought some it was quite a bit cheaper, and i sold it at about 10% profit.

I find the figures quite staggering at Poloniex, but it seems to be dropping off a bit. So we either watch it decline or burst back. XMR does not strike me as a coin to just muddle along at average price.

Some of this has been discussed by Monero "enthusiasts".  One very possible reason for the lack of a "takeoff" is the fast emission.  One thought is if the devs can get the core functionality done in time:

-database overhaul
-code rewrite (clean up C mess etc.)
-harden code
-gui
-etc

the declining emission rate will slingshot the price up quite a bit.
5272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshin@gmx.com is compromised on: September 09, 2014, 11:13:15 AM
If Satoshi was alive and was trying to be anonymous:

- he would have changed all of his passwords, after finding out that his accounts were compromised back when the "I am not ..." mesage was posted.
- after all this gmx mess, he would certainly have more reason to change his passwords and let the people know that it was not him sending the messages, but a random hacker.
- he would have deleted all emails that could compromise him and he would have changed the secondary email.
- he would have changed his email accounts and never would use his old ones anymore.

This story on wired.com: http://www.wired.com/2014/09/satoshi/ also says, that the hacker knows Satoshi's identity and that he was actually knowing that SN is still alive and that SN was still using his satoshin gmx account after his disappearance.

So,

If Satoshi was dead

- it explains why he never moved a Satoshi from his wallet after disappearance
- it explains why he suddenly stopped all of his activity
- it explains why he never changed his passwords after beeing compromised by hackers

I pretty much believe that SN died back in the days when he disappeared suddenly.

Interesting is, that in both occasions, the "I am not ..." posting AND this wired article is indicating that Satoshi Nakamoto is still alive.

Some Questions:

If SN was actually dead, why would the hacker do what he is doing after compromising his accounts a long time ago?

How could a hacker, that doesn't seem to act very smart, hack into Satoshis email account after hordes of hackers worldwide were trying this for years?

All this p2pfoundation hack AND hacking gmx AND the wired story about selling Satoshis identity for 12000USD makes no sense to me. He could get ALOT more from SN if he really knows his identity and SN was alive and trying to hide. Is he really that dumb?

Doesn't it look a lot more like sombody is desperately trying to let the people think, that Satoshi Nakamoto was still alive?

Wait, let me put my tinfoilhat on, before I continue .....................................................

Wow.. the bids are getting chewed up.  It's a buyers market for sure.

10% of all BBRs in existence were dumped today. Have no worry my friend, it cannot last forever Wink

Oh, I'm not worried one bit.

Todays dumpings are part of the effort to discredit BBR, but it seems safe to say that it is not working Wink
It just shows that more than supporting group realizes that BBR tech is worth to be aware of!

I'm pretty sure that cloning technologies have just reached a breakthrough. There's a 7th dan rpietila, and a 6th dan rpietila as well. I'm betting the 6th dan rpietila is the clone (due to collateral DNA damage and all, has not donated as much). Everyone should head out to the Monero Community Hall of Fame for definitive verification. While you're there, might as well donateWink

Thanks for the catch.  Fixed.

I don't know what it does mean "relevant portion" BUT anyway
this is WHOLE my bitmonerod.log
http://pastebin.com/uu922LDN

It looks like you are not syncing at all. The only blocks you have are the ones that get read in from the file. As soon as it is about to sync, that's where your log file ends, and presumably that is where you are stuck. I don't know why this would happen, but perhaps someone else has an idea.

Firewall?
