5261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: List of ETF filings this year in the US(NEW ETF ADDED) on: March 23, 2022, 03:09:27 PM
I think these decisions are in line with the expectations of those who are realistic about the physically-based BTC ETF. This is simply something we will have to wait a little longer for, because the SEC will simply not allow itself to approve such an instrument until they are 100% sure that they will be able to implement all possible mechanisms to prevent market manipulation.

Although I don't know if such a thing is possible at all, because who can prevent the volatility that has become one of the trademarks associated with Bitcoin. If I had to bet on a date, then I would say that Q4 2024 is the ideal period for approval - halving + ETF = big bang Cheesy
5262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prince Philip of Serbia: "only way around inflation is Bitcoin" on: March 23, 2022, 02:45:36 PM
I would not go deep into this matter, because it is more than complicated. I would certainly say that there were no innocent parties in that war, we can each present our own arguments, count the victims, but I think that is meaningless at the moment. there were idiots and criminals on all sides and I personally do not want to generalize.
I will not hate Croats because of a few individuals, nor can I glorify some Serbs who, with savagery and their foolishness, have tarnished the whole nation.

There is nothing complicated about what happened in 1991 and after, everything is publicly available and everyone knows that no country attacked Serbia at that time, and that Serbia committed horrific crimes that you still do not admit - how many children were killed by Croats in Serbia, how many churches and houses were demolished in your country? Then at least 90% of Serbs were for the war, today 90% of Serbs are for Russia - and you have the same people in power who committed crimes in 1991 - which speaks volumes about how much you have changed.

So, again no one here is interested in other territory or any kind of war with neighbours. Of course, everywhere you can find a couple of drunken nationalists or keyboard warriors who have no life of their own who speak such nonsense.

You call your president and prime minister keyboard warriors? Well, they openly support the annexation of Republika Srpska, which was created on the basis of ethnic cleansing - and if it is not the appropriation of someone else's territory, then I don't know what to call it - and let's not forget what is happening with Montenegro.

No offense, but I hope that the average Serbian doesn't have this... distorted... view over the history.

I have not yet met a Serb (from Serbia) who will admit that they as a people have done anything wrong - 402 graves of innocent children in my country are a fabrication for them, and the same attitude will be in Russia towards all Ukrainian victims.
5263  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation hitting the world every year on: March 23, 2022, 12:08:58 PM
I Have been observing the way price of things are going up right from 2013 up till this time , add to  the pandemic in 2019-2020 that caused high level of inflation to the world.

Some natural inflation is quite normal and expected, and the average person will certainly not feel it too much on his skin if his government adjusts wages to rising inflation. Some 10 years ago, the price of 1 kg of bananas in my country was about 0.7 EUR, today it is about 1.4 EUR, which means that it has doubled - but the average salary has more than doubled, so no one complains about the price of bananas.

The problem is when the price literally jumps by 100% overnight, so the price of 1 liter of sunflower oil is now just under 3 EUR, and until recently it was half as low. No country can solve this problem in the short term, which means that purchasing power is drastically reduced, and people have to give up a lot of things to survive. The pandemic and economic policies of most countries of the world are paying off, and on top of all that, Russia's aggression against Ukraine is making the situation even worse.

I'm not a pessimistic person, but hard days are ahead of us - luckily for those who were intelligent enough to invest in Bitcoin, things will still be a little easier than for the average man who is completely addicted to fiat.
5264  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor T is 4 years old. 50% discount on accessories in the official shop on: March 23, 2022, 11:28:00 AM
I would personally never consider purchasing any screen protectors or protective cases if I had a Trezor HW and I am not using any for my Ledger either.

I would agree with you, even though people have all sorts of weird habits that make sense to further protect their HW. This especially makes sense for those who keep such a device within the reach of children or pets, and then screen protection would be welcome - although it would make more sense to have a metal housing for extra protection.

Anyway, this is what an HW looks like when a dog plays with it Smiley

5265  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-03-23] El Salvador Postpones Planned Bitcoin Bond on: March 23, 2022, 11:15:37 AM
It appears there has been a delay in the bitcoin bond and it would not be very shocking if there are more delays for this similar to the bitcoin ETF. The skeptical me thinks that the government of El Salvador might be evaluating what type of political pressure might come to them if they continue to issue those bonds. They say unfavorable market conditions, however, I reckon the type of investors that would be attracted to those bonds are not much affected to unfavorable conditions of the mainstream markets.

Maybe the problem is that El Salvador is one of the countries that refused to condemn Russia for its aggression against Ukraine. I have already commented in the main ES thread that there is some reason for such a political position, and we can only speculate about what it is about. Is it that they estimate that most investors will turn their backs on them, or are they counting on Russian capital, which is now blocked?
5266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Saved Me. on: March 23, 2022, 11:01:03 AM
I went to the casino, played roulette, won, and that brought smiles to my face.

I never believed in that kind of luck, I was more for sports betting - but I was only successful there when I realized I had to turn the odds in my favor to win. Either way, a thick line needs to be drawn between entertainment and business, which is also true for crypto trading.

Maybe it turns out that you are especially talented for that but keep in mind that more than 90% of traders lose money in the long run.

If we believe the researchs, they say that only 5% of people are successful in crypto trading, which does not mean that the rest are constantly losing money, they simply give up after a while. Being successful in something is not just a matter of luck, money, or talent, but most of all perseverance and determination. I hope that the OP will eventually be among that 5% of successful traders.

Do we have a new rules on plagiarism? I reported this user  few weeks ago and I just found out that he's still very much active on the forum

It seems that we have, but they are not official yet - it seems that one violation of the rules is no longer enough, something will happen after you report 4-5 posts from the same user. To make matters even more complicated, this member is active only in the Gambling board, and this board is even productive for those who promote their referral links.
5268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prince Philip of Serbia: "only way around inflation is Bitcoin" on: March 23, 2022, 10:21:01 AM
it's a really long story and can be very complicated to explain.
Serbia is in a big dilemma here, in 1999 experienced similarly what is happening in Ukraine, bombing and destroying civilian infrastructure. So we certainly sympathize with the people of Ukraine, we know very well what they are going through. On the other hand, the attack on Serbia was by NATO, so it's hard to give support to someone who tore down your bridges, factories etc...

What is happening in Ukraine has nothing to do with what happened in Serbia in 1999, and is the result of several bloody wars that Serbia has started in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and finally Kosovo. If you wanted a comparison, then you should have mentioned how Serbia, as a superior enemy, attacked Croatia, occupied a third of the country and killed over 400 innocent children in its bloody campaign, and the horrors that followed in Bosnia and Herzegovina are the worst crimes against humanity since 1945. People like President Vucic have personally participated in these crimes and are still in power.

certainly, the majority of the population has a reasonable attitude here, and are clearly against the aggression on Ukraine. They show it by various actions, but unfortunately, that part belongs to the media that have an autocrat against them and any information from that side is very difficult to get public.

I would not agree with that, most Serbs support Russia and the current regime, just as they continued to support the creation of a Big Serbia in 1991, and today they have a project of the Serbian world - in other words, nothing has changed in the past 30 years - Serbia still aspires to the territories of neighboring countries.
5269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 19 Million BTC in two weeks' time on: March 23, 2022, 10:01:10 AM
~snip~

I just wanted to be sarcastic with my post and point out how pointless such topics are - because everything we can say on this topic will not make anyone a little smarter. I wouldn’t so much emphasize the question “how much Bitcoin has been lost so far”, but the much more important question is how many people are actually lost in the crypto world? I would estimate that number is much higher than 19 or 21 million, which is actually a real tragedy...
5270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 19 Million BTC in two weeks' time on: March 22, 2022, 04:25:29 PM
What this topic is missing is speculation on how much BTC has been lost so far - is it 2 or maybe 4 million BTC? Will there be enough BTC for everyone when all the millionaires decide to buy at least 1 BTC? Oh no, Satoshi was wrong and should have set 210 million BTC instead of 21 million - and what if he comes back and does just that😱

Michael Saylor do not just believe in bitcoin, his company Microstrategy is actually a bitcoin institutional investor, if his company sell all his bitcoin holding today, the price of bitcoin will fall not only abruptly but also significantly.

Don't worry, he will certainly be very considerate in that case and will not tell anyone that he has sold (OTC)🤑. Who knows, maybe he'll change his mind again🤠

5272  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto users in Africa grew by 2,500% in 2021: Report on: March 22, 2022, 03:33:43 PM
The title says "Crypto users in Africa grew by 2,500% in 2021", but the report talks about an increase in crypto transactions "A recent report by KuCoin reveals that the number of crypto transactions has increased by 2,670% in some African countries"

In any case, I don't see things like this as something that should be taken for granted, but more as self-promotion. Some Johhny said this to some shitty crypto media that will make some money from all those who believe in such fairy tales, a win-win situation for both and Africa has gained several million new crypto users Roll Eyes
5273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prince Philip of Serbia: "only way around inflation is Bitcoin" on: March 22, 2022, 12:09:41 PM
Oh god, the royal family has just completely returned to Serbia a few years ago and he already wants to flee the country again?
Of course, he has no influence, the royal family is just on paper, he is not even the crown prince, he's the younger brother so not in line for succession but all around the remains of the Austria-Hungary empire, there are a lot of people who have some inexplicable hate for monarchies, especially after 50 years of communism brainwashing.

It's amazing what people are building a story about, a prince on paper who is still imagining a kingdom in which Bitcoin is likely to be the main currency. We had a little discussion a few days ago in the WO, and I was hoping we wouldn't have a topic like this in the BD - now I'm just waiting for someone to find out the price went up because of the prince Roll Eyes

Given his (political) views, care should be taken that the current government does not attack him more than is currently the case (verbally). Their absolute leader (the Balkan version of Putin) killed people for fun 30 years ago, and if the prince gets involved in politics, it will not go well.

My gmail spam folder is full of bitcoin jackpot winner like 0.1 btc, 0.5 btc.

Why do you even spend time looking at what you have in the spam folder? Such e-mails are mostly there for a reason, and are usually automatically deleted after a while. No one will give you 0.1 or 0.5 BTC, but the people behind these messages know that they will always catch someone naive who will believe in such things.

It is always wise to have a few emails that we can categorize into several categories:

  • Personal email for family and close friends.
  • Business e-mail related to our business.
  • E-mail for online orders, registration on trusted sites.
  • Email for everything related to cryptocurrencies.

Each e-mail should have a unique password composed of at least 10+ characters (lowercase/uppercase letters, numbers, special characters). For better privacy and security, ProtonMail is recommended.
5275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can we do to speed up Bitcoin mass adoption? on: March 22, 2022, 11:10:13 AM
It pleases that my idea came to the mind of the owners of this pizzeria. Actually, it's quite simple. It was about this method of stimulating buyers with crypto that I was talking about. Thank you for sharing this example and I hope it inspires others to follow suit.

In today's world, every customer is important and the more payment methods someone implements, the more customers they will have, which is a fairly simple philosophy. I think that in the process, many are afraid of the volatility that Bitcoin has and do not want to take risks, and are not aware that there are payment processors that act as intermediaries. In doing so, I don’t think this is the ideal way to pay with BTC, but it’s hard to imagine that it could work any differently at the moment.

As I have already given some examples, is anyone maybe for haircuts and shaving, paying in BTC of course Wink
5276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Malaysian Ministry proposes cryptocurrencies as legal tender? on: March 22, 2022, 10:50:04 AM
@DdmrDdmr and Lucius
Same story again, right?
One guy says something about legalizing crypto or a part of crypto trading or something else and the crypto press blows everything out of proportion. Right now I honestly don't know why people are even mentioning FUD for something going wrong when every single day we're bombarded with exaggerations like this, to me the previous FUD seems now more like reality to balance things out.

It seems like something similar to what happened to Tonga and some of their lord who advocated Bitcoin, although I don’t want to claim that both politicians are equally important in their countries. Whether we like it or not, some people will benefit from this kind of news, because for months people have been profiting from "buy low, sell high" in the range of $35k - $45k, and everyone wants something positive to happen since on the one hand we have a war, and on the other hand inflation is just beginning to seriously stifle us.

That aside, I don't agree with example with the mining aspect, even if bitcoin becomes legal tender if somebody is caught stealing electricity the outcome will be the same, the public aversion is towards the miners and in a lot of cases, this happens all over the world in different scenarios.

As for the theft of electricity, there is no doubt - theft is theft no matter what status Bitcoin had in a country. I was thinking more of the general perception of the public because of such events combined with what their finance minister thinks when it comes to Bitcoin. All this together does not seem to be a fertile ground for declaring Bitcoin a legal tender.

Everyone hates coal till their electric bill comes, everyone hates pesticides until they realize nothing is grown in their trees without, and a lot hate Amazon until it's time to buy something and they look at the prices.
I would do that rolling myself if I would catch something doing the same, especially since it hurts my own profits.  Grin

I've never bought anything using Amazon, and I don't use any poisons for my personal use in growing fruits and vegetables - and yet I manage to grow healthy vegetables and fruits. There is always an alternative if one makes an effort, but I will not say that this path is easy or cheap.
5277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Honduras to declare Bitcoin as a legal tender? on: March 22, 2022, 10:24:12 AM
That aside, I see the price jumped 5% and we're on a 10% uptrend for 7 days but the jump is not really related to the old news so did this thing happen? I can't find any source for confirmation, it was supposed to happen in a few hours but it's already midnight there.

If there is nothing we do not know, then the market has reacted to the news about Honduras and Malaysia, although it is still only unconfirmed rumors about Honduras, and Malaysia is currently a desolate wish of a less important politician. However, as it seems from some previous news, interest in Bitcoin, but also other altcoins in Honduras is present - and last year the first crypto ATM is placed.

Given the remittances coming from the US each year ($5.7 billion - 2020), perhaps the Honduran president thought Bitcoins would be arriving in the country instead of $.

Quote
Many software developers in Honduras are already paid in cryptocurrencies, Mayen said, adding that it will also be a cheaper option to send remittances.
In 2020, Hondurans living abroad - mainly the United States - sent $5.7 billion, about 20% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP), in remittances.

Well, what he wrote is on the level of a slightly more intelligent child in primary school after someone would explain to him how the crypto market works. Every year you just write as many tweets as you can and one day you might be able to say "I was right", maybe at least in part.

I wonder if there is any speculation for 2024, or Popay thinks it will no longer play any role? Maybe it’s time for a new can of spinach Roll Eyes

5279  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 21, 2022, 03:31:52 PM

My comment from BD gives a slightly better picture of who and what thinks in that country.

Something seems to have been lost in translation, as some use the term "legal tender" while others translate it as "legal transfer", which of course is not the same thing. If we take a closer look at who the proposal comes from (Communication Ministry), then it is enough to scratch under the surface and find out what the Minister of Finance thinks about it.

While Zahidi wants to go full speed ahead on crypto, the country's finance minister — you know, the person who would actually oversee regulations — is decidedly less bullish. Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said earlier this month that crypto is not a "good store of value and a medium of exchange" because of its volatility. That isn't exactly a resounding endorsement for the country turning to crypto as legal tender anytime soon, despite Zahidi's desire to assist the crypto-loving youth.

Besides, for those who don't know, Bitcoin doesn't have a good reputation in that country, because some used electricity for mining that they did not pay for.

Quote
Malaysia has recently run into problems with bitcoin mining in the country. Police in the country said bitcoin miners stole about $2 million in electricity during 2020 alone. Stealing power for bitcoin mining is already a prevalent problem in the country, where the practice is illegal.

And there is a proposal for Honduras to have bitcoin as legal tender as soon as tomorrow!
https://digitnews.in/the-president-of-honduras-may-announce-the-legalization-of-bitcoin-in-the-country-tomorrow
https://news.coincu.com/74402-honduras-will-adopt-bitcoin
They said why El Salvador are allowed to have all the fun?

Expect a huge pump up in price from $41,500 to $63,000 tomorrow when the news has been finalize.

I heard that the news could be published at the crypto conference in Miami at the earliest, but I don't mind it happening tomorrow Wink

As of today, Bitcoin's 4-year moving average, which has been ever-increasing since Bitcoin's creation, has reached 20K, which was the previous TOP in 2017. Historically, the price has only very rarely EVER touched its 4-year moving average, and only for mere hours or days. Even during the huge COVID-19 black swan event, Bitcoin's price dipped just slightly below its 4-year moving average for only 4 days, from March 12 - 16, which was the chance of a lifetime to buy low. Now with the 4-year moving average at 20k, we can be (relatively) assured that the 2017 top is now the absolute bottom!

As of today, Bitcoin's four-year moving average, which has been steadily climbing since the cryptocurrency's inception, has surpassed the previous 2017 high of $20,000. Historically, the price has never hit its four-year moving average, and then only for a few hours or days. Even during the massive COVID-19 black swan event, Bitcoin's price fell just marginally below its four-year moving average for only four days between March 12 and 16, providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase low. Now that the four-year moving average has reached 20,000, we may be (relatively) certain that the 2017 peak is the ultimate bottom!

I hope this will be enough for the mods to finally respond to all reports against this member.
