5261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Personal Opinion: Only a matter of time until Bitcoin will surprise us again on: February 28, 2020, 02:46:55 PM
I wonder why the coronavirus hysteria is so big.
After all, this is a virus with a 2-3% death ratio and only the really old and weak people die.The rest can be cured successfully.
The mainstream media and the social media platforms cause all the hysteria with all the "breaking news" and clickbait BS.
I don't think the hysteria is the only reason behind the Bitcoin price correction. The crypto whales just cashed out big profits at 10K USD price, and they are preparing to buy some cheap bitcoins right before the halving hits and the price goes up.
Because of the media. They basically embellish the news regarding the spread of the virus plus announcing every little "predictions" of scientists around the globe. Now, the mass, as we know it, take these "predictions" as facts instead, spreading mass hysteria all over the globe. Still, it's a virus quite devastating, but I really doubt it's enough to affect the market by so much. I mean, we'd have to wait for it to at least reach the level of the black death to at least say that the market would crash right?

Imo though, what affected the market heavily was the reaction of the traders towards the "threat" levels of the Corona virus. That, and the cause of the massive drops of stocks just recently these past few days. There really isn't any solid data to prove it, but the reactions of the population should be enough as proof no?
5262  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is oversold on: February 28, 2020, 01:35:39 PM
Here we go with the people pushing BTC down since it dropped big just recently. It isn't oversold tbh, more like, when a few traders started exiting the market which caused the price to go down a bit, a lot suddenly followed because they observed that the market seems to have stopped its massive rise compared to the start of the year.

Traders probably saw that the market was going down from the expectant stay of BTC at $10k, and since it went down to $9k, most decided to exit the market. That's it. Besides, the observed measurements are probably the time frame of BTC dropping down from $10k to $9k only, which is around a week or so? If observed based on measurements of monthly changes, I doubt the results would've gone so low.

If you wanna know how, check this link out

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1629118.0

Though tbh, just the want to earn isn't enough to guarantee you earning. It's more like you earn while learning or something like that. The site promotes more regarding learning about Bitcoin and the community rather than asking for rewards. The rewards is just a kind of side result or something.

what is the signature campaign , will it end ?
Signature campaign is basically letting campaigns use the signature feature the website has. Each rank has a certain limit regarding signatures and as such provides different looks, with higher ranks providing much more freedom regarding customization. You can view more regarding the specifics here regarding each rank and the signatures they can show.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0

where is signature and uid
Signature is the image and/or words you see below the posts of a user. If you've had experience with other forums, they also have similar features and the idea is basically the same.
As for UID, i'm not particularly sure but you're probably pertaining to the numbers attached to your account, or userid. You can see it by visiting your profile and looking at the webaddress, you can take note of the u=######.

(If i'm wrong, feel free to correct me cause I'm not really sure about the UID part)

If you want to check out what signature campaigns are active, check out the Services. Though at a minimum, the rank of your account should be at around Full member to be acknowledged and accepted in a campaign though.
5264  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tom Lee 2020 Bitcoin to 30k on: February 25, 2020, 09:15:32 AM
Why even take note of the prediction? Just so it could align with Mashinsky's? I see no need tbh. and honestly, a $30k year-end seems way too farfetched. I mean, who wouldn't be glad to see an ending like that? But honestly, a 100% increase from the start of last year? Even with the halving, I doubt it could happen. Especially with the hodlers watching the market, preparing to exit at a suitable time where they'd most likely profit, all the while not letting their greed take over them.

A crash would probably happen by the $20k mark, making the $30k vision seem far away. Ngl, human greed is spread out and all, but I really think most would exit the market by $20k and start hoarding once a good period for accumulation comes in again.
5265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Started Gambling Because You Want To Be Part Of A Gambling Campaign on: February 25, 2020, 04:20:57 AM
It wasn't necessarily campaigns that brought me to gambling. Hell, I've had my fair share of gambling experience since the past, visiting casinos here and there. Campaigns have increased the fun though, since they at times introduce me to fairly fun and refreshing experience of playing at their online sites. As for joining a gambling campaign, well, it depends on the situation. I'm not fairly into it with regards to gambling campaigns but I am into gambling, so yep. I'm at a state of Gambling yes, campaigns possibly.
5266  Economy / Economics / Re: In the past where taxes were honoured ~ on: February 25, 2020, 03:29:21 AM
It's pretty easy to hide the amount of wealth one owns tbh. And if there were an insider inside the governing system, it makes hiding it a whole lot more easier. Even if we do say reference from the expenditure of the household, they could easily say that THAT was the last of the savings their household has. The system of the past was effective because it was OF THE PAST.

Do note that things have changed because of man kind's intelligence, and if we were to apply the same tax rules as of the past, the intelligence of man would prove to be worthy of its reputation and easily bypass any kind of law they would want. Especially if there are a few like-minded individuals both inside and outside the governing system.
5267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren buffett strikes again 😂 on: February 25, 2020, 02:33:15 AM
Well, someone like Warren Buffett who only knows about what he is interested in, who only invests on what he actually knows and is willing to know, it's no surprise he is willing to bring down Bitcoin/crypto down. Still, should he actually develop an interest with it, I suppose the guy would actually help develop it in the community, but well, ignorance is quite dangerous at times no?

As for the Bitcoin sent to him by Justin Sun, heck I expect it to have been completely forgotten by him. Even if he did remember, he doesn't really need that amount with all the riches he has after all.
5268  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My top 7 exchanges for trading on: February 24, 2020, 03:26:17 PM
Binance and Kraken are natural choices for exchanges to be used. I have doubts about Coinbase though. I've long heard about a lot of issues with regards to Coinbase, counting from their customer support towards their judgement of the amount of fees users need to pay. Yes, it is reputable and trusted by a lot, but there are also others that are reputable and trusted by a lot. Coinbase is a good exchange in general, but not one of the best. I'd go for Binance any other day tbh.
5269  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it possible for a newbie to send merit? on: February 24, 2020, 03:22:54 PM
Probably read this so as to get a general idea of how the forum works. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0. Merits are rather easy to earn around Newbie to Full member, but after that, posts require really helpful content or content that has some form of development towards the crypto scene.
5270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the Black Americans on: February 24, 2020, 02:19:28 PM
Easiest way to fix misconception of people against BTC is if the news that spread is more about its development, instead of the countless scams and hacks that have occurred so far. Not only that, the proper intervention of the corresponding authorities regarding scams should be properly done so that victims wouldn't spread malicious information based on a one-sided point of view towards the general masses/public.

To be fair, the information network of the general masses are hugely contributed by gossip. And people who have a one sided look in life tend to have a harder time accepting what is right even when faced with facts, and they are in the majority of the population. This causes a bandwagon effect, turning majority of the "neutral" ones towards their side, making understanding things harder. The best we could do is to spread proper and correct information regarding it, as well as acknowledging the mistakes made by accepting them, and providing proper feedback with regards to the issues they present
5271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Outdated, Loves Ethereum on: February 23, 2020, 02:12:11 PM
Can we like, stop and forget about this guy already? This guy is old news that is trying veryyy veryy hard to become relevant to the scene, which he isn't. You wouldn't even see the guy standing up to his words for a few minutes into a discussion, why even bother listening to him. He probably forgot to change the terms used. Bitcoin isn't outdated, he is. Ethereum is loved yes, he isn't. Sad life for this guy.

There's a lot other people we could actually take note of. Those that actually contribute to the scene and know which coins are shit and those coins which are loved.
5272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Simpsons talks about Cryptocurrency on: February 23, 2020, 01:02:12 PM
If this was before Bitcoin was initiated, I would've wowed at it. The Simpsons of the past were well known for producing episodes that actually happen in the future. Coincidence or not, this brought Simpsons a lot of attention plus, it was really enjoyable. But that was back then. I believed the Simpsons of today is a shadow of its former self, and well, isn't really anything good.

Plus, it's a marketing campaign/joke. I mean, why wouldn't Binance talk about it? It features crypto after all. Why wouldn't it be shared to The Simpsons? It's getting quite relevant after all, especially in the major countries such as US and China.
5273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling or Casino gambling? on: February 23, 2020, 11:36:20 AM
Okay so The time it takes to receive the awards/prices isn't really an issue. It's not like you need to go to their irl site to get it and all, just send a bank account or something and they'd send it, easy peasy. Next, Going to their gambling casino irl IS the purpose of playing casino gambling, so I doubt you can actually put it as a disadvantage. It's also not a waste of time, since socialization is easily available and well, an atmosphere kind of thing?

Playing at the comfort of your home is both an advantage and a disadvantage. It's kinda boring to play if your online but it does give you the comfort of playing at the confines of your home. As for casino gambling, well, I don't think there's a real advantage? I mean, its fun in its own way to be honest.
5274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Destroying Bitcoin with a single question on: February 23, 2020, 10:58:27 AM
You bought out every fiat currency out there sure. Okay. Banks would be like: Okay mate, time to print more so we can suck the assets of this guy. We can just tell that his bought "fiat money" is already out of date and isn't recognized anymore. You bought out every BTC out there okay. Exchanges would be like: Oh, we can't do anything about that. We can't even say that his coins are outdated cause you can consider each coin to be unique, and it is out of date seems to be an impossibility.

Next, Oh look I have 18 BTC and a number 18 on excel. Oh look, I'm rich cause I have 2 18s. Like seriously? It's like comparing while only looking at your own side. Oh look, I hodl my 18BTC after 2 years, I now earned almost $1m dollars. Oh look, I hodl my 18 on excel, it's still worth nothing. A ridiculous argument in all its entirety IMO.
5275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PEOPLE WILL NEVER STOP FALLING FOR SCAM on: February 23, 2020, 05:58:27 AM
Nothing surprising there tbh. If there isn't any real desire to learn, but only the desire for money or otherwise greed, people will continue to get scammed by themselves. It's like how they would probably go inside a burning building just to get a million dollars inside. And even if we say that they got experience with being scammed, as long as there's the factor or miniscule chance of a possibility of "earning money", they'd willingly enter any kind of trial/site/enticement just so they can try it. It's like gambling. They hope and pray that they actually hit the jackpot in one of their decisions, which makes separating from such choices harder than ever.
5276  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin won't surge past 11k, your thoughts... on: February 23, 2020, 05:22:05 AM
The chances of it not to happen is 5-10%.
True. A lot of people are negative about it, but much more are actually expecting for it to exceed the ATH we have right now. Even if it wasn't this week or the next, the closer we get to the halving, the higher the chances of it actually making it past $11k, what with all the FOMO coming out and investors trying to get in and get a share of the pie of what is called BTC. Additionally, the price decrease recently was, IMO, a correction. It surged way too smoothly from $8k after all. It would have been weirder if it actually pushed through straight to $20k at the pace it was going last time.
5277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A game that educates people about Bitcoin on: February 23, 2020, 05:05:41 AM
Educational game? Give up it up. The idea of making it a game is interesting, but using the format you just stated wastes the idea, like, completely. See here, games are interesting because they don't have to think much outside of anything related to the game. Look at how puzzles are solved in Tomb raider games, at detective games. Every piece of information needed is IN the game, meaning they don't have to reference it to others. If you want to use an educational game where players answer it base on answers that they need to find themselves, its kinda dead.

There's also the issue of format. Games are interesting because they give you novel ideas on how to move, analyze, and see the story of the game. It'd be a lot better if you actually use BTC as a form of medium to resolve problems, where the player is guided/instructed on HOW to use those BTC. Never use BTC as a core idea, use it as a medium to finish the game.
5278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Assess your gambling addiction level. on: February 23, 2020, 03:52:19 AM
Level 0.

I was wondering where was the option of just gambling for the sake of gambling and no other goal. The level 1 to 3 already seemed way too crazy for me as a person who doesn't gamble addictively, plus, I still use my brain, like, I still have a touch of common sense with me.

I'm pretty sure Levels 1 and above would only be achieved if you actually think of gambling as a sort/way to earn money, which is not really its purpose (at least, for me that is). Sure, money is involved and all, but gamblings are in a sense games right? Bets are made to add that taste that other games can't give it, and increasing it adds more intensity towards that taste. I've bet big amounts and small amounts here and there, but I never considered the idea that I must take them back. Those bets were made to add spice, or at least I got carried away by the intense feeling of playing against someone.
5279  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank create money out of thin air faster than you! on: February 22, 2020, 04:11:32 PM
I'm pretty sure the bank doesn't set the price though? More like the amount of fiat the bank's release determines it's purchasing power, thereby determining whether something is expensive or not. Additionally, it's not like banks release fiat currency willynilly. They take in to account a lot of economic factors, such as possible inflation as well as current purchasing power. There's also the idea of pushing the economic factors of the country by intentionally inflating the economy, but only in small amounts.

It's not like the banks benefit from producing money. It's more like they produce money because the people of the country need it. Banks don't earn money by printing money, banks earn by borrowing money and lending it to others. Do remember that there are laws and rules that banks follow, just like anywhere else.
5280  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here is What Price i Will Sell My BTC During the Next Bull Cycle on: February 22, 2020, 01:11:38 PM
Let's just hope the next bull cycle actually reaches your requirement lmao. Even if we assume a boom similar to what happened to 2017 happens, lets be honest. Back then, a lot of people were surprised, ignorant, and shocked about the event. But it immediately died down no? Price immediately crashed and the depression days immediately came to the market. What about now? Where people are expectant, where people are watching, where people are observing? I bet the moment it steps onto $20k or higher, a vast majority of those who actually traded to make a quick buck would exit the market. This prevents the market from fully growing, and it might actually just need a few more decades before reaching the price you want.
