5261  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner R-Box Setup [HD] on: July 25, 2014, 10:29:26 AM
So when i run my R-Box on CGminer without changing the MHz i have a reject ratio of about 1%. But when I try to get it up to 290MHz it is about 10%. Is it even possible to run them over 270MHz? Because i have seen some people run it on this configurations without all these fails.

Well these aren´t really rejects but duplicates. I guess thats also not very good.
Duplicates are fine for the miner, it just means the pool has to do more work.

5263  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S2 Setup [HD] on: July 25, 2014, 09:15:20 AM

- How do I change the login password?
- Navigate to System -> Administration. Enter the current password and enter your new one twice.
Doesn't work on my S2. It returns a message in red letters "Invalid password" and doesn't change it. Whatever I try, even "123"-"123" as my new password.

That error message suggests you're tying in your current password wrong.

Okay. Need feedback on all aspects of the new system please.

5266  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner R3-Box Setup [HD] on: July 25, 2014, 08:19:06 AM
is there any way to check log files on the official pi image?

Not via the interface, which is so cut down that I doubt the ssh is going to be that usable.
5267  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S3 Setup [HD] on: July 25, 2014, 06:21:03 AM
I did that, nothing happened Huh
I did that, nothing happened Huh
Unfortunately I upgraded the firmware and have gotten the same result.  System won't boot.  Red light blinks every second and green light on ethernet blinks in bursts.  Factory reset did nothing.  Neither did moving the cables..which was a long shot.  I think the firmware update bricked the unit.

Did you get any support from Bitmain?  I send couple of emails and nothing.
Oh, by no connection you mean you can't connect to the S3 at all? Can't find it with an ip scanner? Checked the common subnets?
5268  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide on: July 25, 2014, 06:12:16 AM
those are phony trust scores... post the tx id for your trust scores dogie
IMO these trust threads are are a great idea. We just need more updates.
Maybe you should ask someone else to manage it, just like it was done in the signature campaign overview thread.

Its not that simple. This version is slow in updating because I'm currently overhauling things to make it all significantly better. Will go to a numerical system so I can't be flamed for giving XYZ company ABC score blah blah blah "you're biased you're not biased enough" blah blah blah.

And then it has to be iterated 10x.
And then it has to try and be rammed into forum code.
And then it has to fight with the image proxy.
Which then has to be formatted to work @ 1024 res monitors.
And then it has to be usable to update.
And then it has to be processed.
And then the companies have to be rated.
This takes time.

I may have to post a 'full' version on my site and run a cutdown version here because of the code limitations.

tldr, its being done.
5269  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive BTCGarden AM V1 Setup [HD] on: July 25, 2014, 06:09:09 AM
I for instance actually use a real commercial grade router at my house (Juniper SRX-210) which doesn't do this because it is not a DNS proxy....it's a router.

If its so good why doesn't it do what all the other cheap routers do? Wink

No. Not the kind they're thinking of anyway.

You will get only the red light and no fan spinning if you've not configured the network or pool settings correctly. Recheck the OP.

5273  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Avalon Avalon2 Setup + Silencer Mod on: July 24, 2014, 11:32:37 PM
Can you run more than one Avalon2 miner off of one Raspberry Pi?

Probably a few modules, but after that the Pi might start maxing out.

Could be any generic A1 clone with that picture tbh.
5275  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner R-Box Setup [HD] on: July 24, 2014, 10:56:03 PM
bfgminer is supporting rbox already?
Not that I know of. Was a stray line, sorry.

Oh, no!

I really dont want to use WinUSB.  I'm successfully running about 60 other devices without WinUSB, using native drivers like STMicroelectronics Virtual COM Port or Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge.  I dont want to risk my whole setup for this one R-Box...  no options besides WinUSB?

It should only attach onto your R-Box unless someone else is similar. You can always immediately remove the driver again (using zadig).
5276  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Input needed on power on: July 24, 2014, 05:36:34 PM
On your average 120V/15A circuit, you'll get 1800 watts; however, and this is important, they are only rated for 80% continuous load, which is 1440W.  If you are pulling more than that on a single breaker, you're very likely to trip it.

I didn't think that it would trip if you ran over 80%, but that it was just strongly not recommended? Whats the standard those fuses are made to?
5277  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S2 Setup [HD] on: July 24, 2014, 05:34:14 PM
I've seen some estemints that the S1 would be reach its usefulness in November, "meaning it would cost more in power then it could make in a day" … Has anyone seen any estaminets on the S2 ? I know that it somewhat depends on what you pay per kilowatt , but thought there might be a ball park figure… The S2 is under volted in contrast to the S1 so per GHs it draws less power..

I am trying to figure out if and when Bitmain comes out with an upgrade kit to the new less power hungry chip would it be a good idea to make the change. I don't see the point in jumping right on the upgrade train if the S2 in its current state is making money and how far past ROI it is ..

About 41 hours left, this is a really short auction to get the auction ahead of when the ads need to roll over. Will make the changes more seemless. Future auctions will be back to 7 days.
