5281  Economy / Economics / Re: What balance is required to earn $636.75 in monthly dividends on: March 02, 2023, 08:44:37 AM
I like your conclusion on this topic, people should not use a certain stock/shares to judge what a dividend would be in the long run. A lot can change, and as you have rightly concluded, those that had almost-certain plans about some shares and their dividends on it are changing it now because there are many factors to consider which are beyond the companies themselves.

The old/present performance of any company can't be the indication of future performance, so everyone holding a share is taking a risk, with no guaranteed dividend whatsoever.
5282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the easiest way to explain bitcoin to a regular person? on: March 02, 2023, 08:24:38 AM
Anyone who could be sceptical about Bitcoin, trial and the past good testimonies should be able to convince them. Bitcoin is not new/strange, so the burden of how to propagate it is light, you should first learn about it to have experience and the experience will guide you on what to tell others.

The goodness of the coin is not far-fetched everywhere, and the internet should be a very good reference point for you.

Also, this article should guide you and the intending Bitcoiner better: Gaining Bitcoin Trust (Get Informed)
5283  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it true that this AI is good for trading? on: March 01, 2023, 04:10:14 PM
...
However, some people might want to try to manipulate them into giving them trading advice, but I am sure that they will fail in that because they are not designed for such a purpose.

You know, sometimes I play eagle and tails to find a solution I'm not really sure in. And I'd say it is a good option to save time in some cases as when the arguments are equally good for the two options sometimes you need just to choose the one and start realizing. But anyway I understand that it is not a decision of a coin, it is my own decision to use random. So when you use some divination for trading you should anyway understand that it is not AI who trades, it is still your decision. And consequences of that are on you and no one (and no thing) else. Grin
Friend, trading is not that relaxed, which is why many bots have been built to trade the market but none has had an outstanding performance till today. These are bots that some are paying as much as $2,500 for, but in the end, they failed. Not to talk of an AI that was not explicitly designed for trading, it might know all the theoretical aspects of trading as it supposes to but practicalizing it in the real market will be a problem, just like the challenges that trading bots are facing.

The real market is not a play, it will frustrate the AI and those that are trying to manipulate it for trading advice.
5284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: America Wants to buy Bitcoin 20% adults own it, while 29% willing to buy! on: March 01, 2023, 12:51:56 PM
I've always said that statistics are not the most accurate, yet they might be a very good gauge of what is happening. The numbers and the percentage might not be accurate, yet there is a sense of truth in these facts as my different researchers attest to a similar claim. Coinbase is deeply rooted in the US and I know that they have all it takes to conduct reasonable statistics that would give real thought of the masses.

That said, the US is a country that is rich, and judging by the news of the success of some of them in crypto investment in the last 4 years, I believe that they might be ready for a huge investment in the crypto space, Guess what? They are capable.
5285  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: March 01, 2023, 07:36:13 AM
I am not sure if this is a bull trap although my doubts are great, but I am convinced that we are not out of the bear market yet, it is still very early to confirm the bears was left behind. It is normal for bitcoin to recover from a long string of declines, just as there will be a few sunny days in winter.
In order to see what the next trend of bitcoin is going to be, we need to take more time to observe and confirm whether the winter has indeed ended or if this is just a price trap.
The fact is that currently the bitcoin price is being corrected to the price of $ 23k after a few days ago bitcoin managed to reach the $ 25k area and it seems that right now there is not enough strength to break $ 25k so there is still a possibility that the bitcoin price will fall back to the $ 20k level, seeing the difficulty that bitcoin is experiencing to break $25k then I would not say that the bear market is over because there is still a possibility if this correction will last a long time until the bitcoin halving event occurs and after that happens then only then will we see a real bull market .
25k is a strong resistance that bitcoin has not been able to break for the first time. If this repeats a few more times and bitcoin don't gets above 25k, we will probably see another drop, maybe even to the old bottom. By the way, the situation of stock markets around the world does not give hope that we will see good growth.
I quite agree with you on the barrier now poised by $25k, it's surely a level to be watchful of as its breaching might make the coin reach $30k speedily. But a failure to do that and the coin tarrying below the level for too long might slip it back to below $20k.

Bitcoin now follows the right market psychology, and I believe that the sentiments of the market are not as strong enough to breach above $25K which might be an issue if it continues as the market will interpret it as the unwillingness of buyers to purchase further, and the sellers would take the advantage.
5286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 01, 2023, 05:25:09 AM
Quote from: Pokapoka124
Arsenal have set their target on winning the premier league this season. Judging from how they have shown confidence so far, even after losing to Manchester City and dropping to second position with City leading by goal aggregates, Arsenal remained determined and bounced back to winning ways again to overtake Manchester City and go back to top position. Against Everton I'm anticipating a better performance and must win game for Arsenal.

Despite, Arsenal are on top of the premier league table doesn't mean they will win this title because Manchester city are fully ready to take over that position from Arsenal to maintain the position until they embrace the title again in this season. I think, there is hope for Manchester city to win their next match because their opponent are not too strong to stop Manchester city not to score goals that will bring victory at the end of the match. I don't think, Arsenal will achieve victory from Everton in their next match because Everton will do everything possible to ensure they make their defense and midfield solid from the beginning till the end of the match to reduce Arsenal points.
Tight competition will definitely occur, Arsenal's consistency this season has made them now at the top of the standings and Manchester City's inconsistency has been put to good use by Arsenal, as has happened in the previous season. The Premier League always presents fierce competition, even up to the last week for The struggle for the title, so this season is also possible between Arsenal and Manchester City and it is also possible that Manchester United will enter the competition.
What is happening in the EPL is what I term a true competition, at least three clubs are closely contesting for the first place but one will surely have it. At this juncture, I will not bother my mind with the one that will make it, it's hard to predict, and any club that relaxes will find itself at the lower spot. Arsenal was disappointing the weeks after the world cup which is why they find themselves only 2 points ahead of Man City.

The mistake is made already and Man City is fierce to take the top spot. I am sure that if Arsenal makes a mistake it will be easy for them. However, Arsenal should be able to beat Everton today and it will be a bit difficult for Man City to beat Newcastle on Saturday.
5287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Neither Good or Bad on: March 01, 2023, 05:12:29 AM
maybe you are correct about it is our action the defies our faith in gambling but the gambling itself being created is already a place where desire and greed are built , what i wanna believe is the creation of this are truly bound for those bad things to happen and only the small part for the good thing.

Yeah we cannot blame gambling but the existing of it for me is what to be blamed , if gambling does not exist we will never face such problem and that is what i look in that matter, though many will disagree ? but for me it is what reality tells.
Gambling is not bad to me, but I will not support the view that our action defiles our faith if gambling is involved. The two core religions in the world don't support it, and I don't see a justification for that because they must have carefully weighed the good and bad sides of it before concluding on that.

This means, I leave faith out of it when I gamble because I don't want anything to deprive me of my happiness, especially when I do it responsibly.
5288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and its power of freedom on: February 28, 2023, 03:10:12 PM
Pyramid scheme is everywhere, every industry and it is not limited in Bitcoin or cryptocurrency.
Let's get something straight here, Bitcoin is not a pyramid scheme, and nothing in its mode of operation suggests or encourages such. A pyramid scheme is a referral-sustenance scheme that often collapses over time, and a typical example is a Ponzi scheme. In the end, there are always victims and it relies on new subscribers for it to thrive.

Bitcoin is certainly nothing like that, no one is compelling anyone to bring another person/subscriber for the sake of benefit(s).
5289  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigerian Central Bank seeks new CBDC partner on: February 28, 2023, 10:23:55 AM
In my opinion, it makes little sense for Nigeria to continue to develop the CBDC project.
Let us stop pampering this clueless government that wastes money at the expense of the taxpayers. I believe if it was Emefile's company, he would have thought better, strategizes and plan so that the project will not look like a failure.

But these people are wasting billions of naira anyhow since it's not from their pocket. The CBN that wanted a CBDC should have known the pros and cons of it, also on the economy, and even on the existing market and how it would thrive. They would have known the best mode to operate it and make it user-friendly with a reasonable transactional cost. Unfortunately, the e-naira lacks all these.

This would have guided them better. In a few years now, they are looking at a different thing entirely, why then rushed for the former? The issue with the Nigerian government is that they are not always prepared and strategic, which is why their lapses are all over the place.
5290  Economy / Gambling / Re: Positive Gambling Quotes for 2023! on: February 28, 2023, 09:02:50 AM
For some people gambling have brought good fortune and I've come across some stories in which the person spend his last money left in the pocket into gambling and won something better out of it. With that he was able to invest and turned to be a big businessman. These are very rare stories, whereas you can see a lot of failure stories. This means gambling isn't a thing that needs motivation or positive mind, because we're risking money which could just make our life upside down in no time.
A lot happens to people who gamble. Some have experienced defeat, while others have won. And people who win a lot of money can surely enjoy their winning money. And if he is wise, he will surely use his money to create a business which can give him more profit. But if we still experience defeat, maybe we shouldn't think that gambling is a way to get money, but gambling is entertainment that we can use to have fun. But that pleasure will put us at risk, so we have to control ourselves and not run out of money.
I've stopped believing that gambling would make one rich, it might earn money for a very few set of people but be sure that luck is involved. Meaning, what you experienced in gambling today no matter how positive might not be what you would experience in it for the rest of your life.

So it's always good to utilize your earnings very well if you have the luck to make it big. Investing in a business is a very good one, and not that the person should stop gambling again, but such should continue to gamble with a reasonably low amount of money.

If not, all of the winnings might be lost back.
5291  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: February 28, 2023, 07:20:10 AM
80k this year is a 1% outcome certainly less then 10% because it requires far more accumulation and run up then we actually have under way.  Yes we started the year off to a good start but for a target like this you will get a considerable amount of selling along the way.  Even with selling we can get to 80k of course but with that decay from momentum upwards you require more power to BTC run up then what we have.  I prefer the person who said is this like 2019, the sharp move up then back down; this is more probable then straight upwards.  My guess is still consolidation, foundation building.

To reach $80k this year, we should be in a massive bull run already. But it's not the case so I agree that the chances are very slim, maybe even less than 1%. My guess is that the biggest that we can go this year is as high as $50k.

And it's going to be hard as well to reach that because it won't be parabolic rise, we might see the price going down below maybe in the later part of the year before we can go up at that levels in December as there could be hype next year because of the bitcoin block halving. So more so accumulation at the last quarter in preparation for that activity, April-May 2024, so there will be FOMO.
You are on point, the $80K price is not feasible this year, it would be a milestone since it would breach the all-time high of the coin which is not what I see possible until halving time. The best of Bitcoin this year should be between $30-45K, nothing more, and for it starting the year well is still not an indication that it would perform well for the rest of the year.

Many factors like inflation will still be a gauge of where it's heading, I hope that inflation does not bite as much as it did last year.
5292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 28, 2023, 07:01:11 AM
I really can't trust Liverpool about any game anymore and this is really frustrating actually. They don't deserve to be like this of course.
But somehow they are still being unsuccessful about improving their form. The embarrassing loss against Real Madrid has made things even worse for them. They couldn't score even one goal against Crystal Palace the last time. The gap with the fourth position has reached 9 points already. This week they have a home game against Wolves. I hope they won't make a simple mistake here again. They really need a reassuring win to gather themselves up.
Yes, I think there is no more hope for Liverpool this season to reap achievements. The Reds have been absolutely devastated this season in all competitions. In the first half of the season I thought it was normal for a team to not be at its best, but in Liverpool's case it seems that it is no longer normal. Their appearance has not improved even though they have made changes to their squad. Apart from that, I see that Liverpool players have lost motivation and confidence. I think Liverpool's heyday is over, so it's time for management to make a complete change. The Reds fans had to let Klopp and Mohammed Salah leave.

I agree with you. There is no hope for Liverpool this season. They won't even qualify for the Champions League. Because the performance of teams like Tottenham, Newcastle Fulham is much more stable than Liverpool. Liverpool's squad is very strong. Still, they are not playing well. I think Liverpool boss Klopp should now try to stabilize his squad. Experiment with the team. and find a stable match strategy that suits the team. If Klopp doesn't do this then we will see Liverpool's erratic performance next season. However, if the Liverpool team is not stable this season, the Liverpool management may decide to sack Klopp.
Time flies and the situation changes, which is what I could say of Liverpool. The disappointment of the club is much this season, they are now facing what Man U faced some years ago. I've always said that the dismissal of a single player in the team could cause a lot of issues for them, they are destabilized now, and Klopp in his wisdom has no clue as far as I know because money is not the problem neither is the squad so bad.

Still, changing some players in the attacking and defence might be a solution. Perhaps, Sallah should be sold for someone more energetic like Osimhen of Napoli and the likes.
5293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: February 28, 2023, 06:49:30 AM
If you were told the outcome of a soccer match, hours before the match was scheduled, and you were assured that it would 100% win, how much would you be willing to bet on it? Assuming it was a 100% can’t lose situation.
Please, disregard the notion that a bet is a no-lose possibility, that is not going to happen. There are best matches with the greatest chance that have lost and there are bets with the worst chance that won. Don't trust anyone or any match to that 100% extent, and no matter how sure you are, manage your risks accordingly.

Assuming you had millions of dollars that you could put on the match, where would you place the bets? Bookies often limit players. How could one successfully place millions of dollars in bets without drawing up suspicions or having their money frozen? Just curious.
Of course, they are doing this often, just don't use cash if your hands are clean, then it will all be between you and the house. Nonetheless, be certain of the credibility of the casino you are entrusting such an amount to.
5294  Economy / Gambling / Re: Consider open live casino (street gambling games) on: February 27, 2023, 04:23:42 PM
No doubt, if those games are also available from the casino house, gamblers will not take that big risk in playing outside. They might consider playing inside the house instead, but there are also some that will continue to play outside as per their own enjoyment.
It's really convenient and safer to play in online casinos. But I think there are still gamblers who prefer to play on the street (because of their job also which I mentioned above) since they find it more entertaining and the experience is different compared to playing alone using your gadget.
The risk is never comparable between playing gambling on the streets or at online casinos because we know how cruel it is on the streets and can even cause fatal accidents to death. Those who still enjoy playing at online casinos feel that they will be even more excited about playing at street casinos because they can hear the screams of people encouraging them to gamble. It's another experience they won't get at an online casino. The thrill can amuse those playing at those street casinos for a long time.

Things like that can't be felt when you are alone in front of your device playing the game, maybe you can feel the enjoyment when winning decently but comparing that with street gambling where you are in front of many different kind of people, the reaction from the crowd in each draw or each time the gambling got executed will add up to your enjoyment.

There are different opinions as gamblers do have their preference when choosing where to play.
When you win in front of other people, it will create a sense of pride in yourself and many people experience that. It was like "wow, here I am, a real gambler."

But for the safety of the gambler himself, it might be better for him to play in a land based casino than in a street casino. Plenty of eyes will watch him receive the winning money, which could lure the bad guys into trying to rob him later and that's probably the risk he has to take.
I read what all of you guys have to say, and truly, you all have valid points. Online, land, and street casinos as you might want to call them have their good and bad sides, and if I would be listing them now, they would be voluminous. Yet, it's good to consider privacy, convenience, safety and other factors, which are why people make their different choices.

There is no way we can agree in everything as our persons can never be the same.
5295  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigerian Central Bank seeks new CBDC partner on: February 27, 2023, 03:12:37 PM
I believe CBN is not ready for the digital transition, which is why some small fintech companies in the country are doing what a whole CBN could not do. What Opay and others are doing with a lot of perks was what I expected from the CBN to attract people, especially traders and market women. They don't just introduce a thing like that to highly uninformed masses with a high transaction fee and want it to beat the existing market.

Besides, the mode of operation of the e-naira is nothing compared with that of crypto, so I don't regard them as rivals in any way.
5296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: February 27, 2023, 10:36:41 AM
And just like that, a life changed! Congratulations, truly. It seems that you put a reasonable amount of effort and research into your bet, and those efforts paid off handsomely. I hope that you use these winnings on something meaningful and long-lasting in your life...at least, give as little back to them as you can Wink
Based on what OP have mentioned, already two years passed and I'm sure he's in good position with his winnings. He had mentioned that he have more other similar wins, but those weren't that high as this. Another thing, he's quite good at sports betting and for that reason I'm sure he could've given back very less to them Wink
I see no reason why the OP should give a little back to the sportsbook as wanted by @BenCodie, and my hope is that the OP knows how to bet well so that he can always replicate the winning. Unfortunately, with the fact that he posted an old history means that he might not have been able to replicate the winning as you might have thought.

At times, betting could be funny, and the strategy that works for you this year might fail you the next.

Manchester United success get first trophy after waiting more than six years and Erik Tan Hag become first manager with first season give United trophy, seems not bad with EFL Cup trophy because left many attempt with  Primer League, FA Cup and Manchester United still participants on Europe League 16th round against Real Betis.

Under Erik Tan Hag, Manchester United have good progress with consistency performance in Primer League and lead awhile on 3rd standing position, with one match left and behind 6 points from Manchester City not close chance yet finish on 2nd or take Arsenal as top position standing in Primer League right now.
Manchester united gladly accept their new trophy after a lengthy period of time since the red devil's celebrated. Wembley stadium was filled of memorable display from manchester united fans and Erik ten Hag just prrof himself once more as the confident coach that will brings more trophy to the club. This is just the beginning for their glory titles, more incoming as they're going to strive harder to lift another trophy.
Congratulations to Man U on the Carabao cup, they deserve it this season and I knew that Newcastle will not be able to win the desperate and deserving club at this time they are so close to winning a cup for almost 6 years. It's a well-deserved success and I love the feat the Man U has displayed presently. But things would have been worse for Erik ten Hag that some people are praising now if he had been in the club 6 years ago. I still believe the guy is lucky to meet Man U almost set when he took the mantle of leadership with a few adjustments made when he came.
5298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with profitability on: February 27, 2023, 07:05:18 AM
I would have been more conservative in my calculations if it's medium or long-term trading, but for day trading, especially scalping, it's always good to loosen up so that the profit would measure up with the energy and time given to it. Day trading styles are many but scalping is the riskiest and most demanding, one should carefully observe the one they are engaging in so that careful training, management and plans would be used.

Me, with $1,000 capital, x3 risk is enough for me when scalping, and I should be averaging $90 daily. But for other styles better than scalping where I must hold my positions longer, my risk would be x3.
5299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC Shouldn’t Regulate Crypto Stablecoins, Says Circle CEO on: February 27, 2023, 06:48:24 AM
This is another person trying to put things in disarray, the so-called Circle chief should just close his mouth, I don't know why people like to call a white a black. SEC is saddled with that responsibility, not the bank, or he would argue that stablecoins are more stable than fiat in which 1 fiat = 1 fiat. If SEC could regulate the trading of fiat, I don't see any reason why they should not regulate the stablecoins that are only using the principles of fiat, some of them are not even truly equal to 1$ as they claim.

Aside from that, they are pairable and tradable, so why not regulate them? We should not be sentimental, regulation is not banning, and it will only help preserve cryptocurrency rather than some evil government clamping down on it.
5300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the IMF Qualms With Regulating/ Banning Bitcoin? on: February 27, 2023, 06:36:24 AM
The criticism and appraisal of Bitcoin did not just start today, so there is nothing to worry about. Top voices from big offices like IMF, FED, Federal Reserve, world & top banks and others have always made the world know their reservations about this, which is normal. But the project of Bitcoin is too large for a total condemnation that would cause a total ban, the haters could only rant, nothing more.

Still, it's worth noting that as time goes on whether we like it or not, more regulations would be meted out on cryptocurrencies, but banning is out of it. While those countries that restricted or banned it would gradually lift their bans.
