5281  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] Hero Member Account in BitMixer.io Campaign on: October 22, 2016, 12:25:46 AM
Likely blacklisted.

Quote from: Lauda
PSA: Bans

Starting today, I have been given access to the whole signature campaign and management. I will be cleaning up this campaign thoroughly. Let me set some things straight:
1) I have banned you, not Bitmixer itself. Do NOT spam Bitmixer via PM with complaints.
2) Do NOT spam me with complaints.
3) Do not blame Bitmixer, do not blame me.
4) The only person that you have to blame is YOURSELF.
5) Take this as a Warning sign. Any further infractions will likely result in a ban from the forum.

Keep in mind I'm not condoning the sale of this account, or even accounts in general.
5282  Other / Meta / Re: Proactive fighting with spammers. Doing it the right way on: October 21, 2016, 11:07:27 PM
You could attempt to contribute to the community by writing a "guide" with some pointers for this (I'm not aware that there is one).

Would it be of any use, really? After all, anyone that could possibly want anything to do with it should know what actual spam is. I don't think that individuals which would like to increase their post quality would be questioning whether their posts are spam or not.

Most people should be able to understand that if their posts are all one-liners or vague and generalized recycled garbage, or agreeing posts, then they are spam. If the post isn't adding anything, then it's spam. What's so hard to understand about that?

However, I think it's good to question whether your posts are useful or not. IIRC, there have been a few times that I've written down a lengthy post to realize that I'm on the wrong page... and then deleting it.
5283  Other / Meta / Re: Proactive fighting with spammers. Doing it the right way on: October 21, 2016, 01:55:43 PM
Well, I slept on this (even two times), and I have a new suggestion regarding spam issues and how to efficiently resolve them. What I come up with essentially boils to disabling signatures for all new users (disabling them retrospectively for all users doesn't feel quite right), and if a user wants to join a signature campaign or just wear some signature, he would ask a mod to enable it for him. The mod would then look at the applicant's post history and decide for himself whether this particular user is worth posting with a signature or not...

In this way, even new users would be prompted to post sense if they aim to enroll in a signature campaign later

Doesn't this add a ton of extra workload for mods, given that they would have to deal with report posts along with these? It's practically asking them to do a campaign manager's job.
5284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which gambling sites have 0% house edge? on: October 20, 2016, 11:20:32 PM
I dont know which gambling site u r talking about. But, if it is BitcoinBetting.website, then it is definitely not a lie. It is pretty easy to calculate their house edge using the following formula...

House Edge in % = ((1 - (Bet Multiplier / No. of Options)) * 100)

Therefore, House Edge of BitcoinBetting.website = ((1 - (16 / 16)) * 100) = 0%

That math would check out if not for the "transaction fee" deduction which actually creates a small edge. If you were to deduct 0.0002 from the payout amount, then it would be far more fair.

In the FAQ, it's stated: "7. Why is 0.0002 BTC missing from the bet amount I sent?
A transaction processing fee of 0.0002 BTC is deducted from each bet."

This transaction fee should only apply to the payout amount, not the bet amount.

However, the way the website works is that the bet amount has 0.0002 deducted from it.

This means for a bet of minimum size (0.0005 BTC) the house edge is:

Win event [1/16]: return of 16 * 0.0003
Lose event: return of 0

ev: 0.0003

This means you lose 40% per bet - a 40% house edge on the minimum amount. That's pretty far from a 0% house edge, don't you think?

Even at the maximum bet: 1 BTC, there's still a house edge.

If you win, you are returned 15.9968 BTC.
This does correspond to a 0.02% house edge, which is far from the 40% earlier, but it's still not 0%.

(Though it's fair enough - this amount can correspond to a transaction fee, albeit it's a whopping 0.0032 BTC)

The deduction should only apply to the payout. Either do this, or stop advertising the website as as having 0% house edge.

CoinGate signature campaign: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1656288.msg16629874#msg16629874
(Trial campaign, starts on October 25)

For Hero/Legendary users: 0.02 BTC [fixed/25 posts]
0.01 BTC for >15 posts (but under 25)

No escrow

Seems like it'll only run for one week. Not sure if this should be placed on the list or not - as it'll stay as PNYC for its duration.
5286  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-10-16]The FBI Gets Involved In US$1.3m Bitfinex Hack Investigation on: October 20, 2016, 09:40:01 PM
What type of fucking freak leaves $3 million on a piece of shit exchange like that in a far off land with no accountability? My mind boggles.

These people are called whales. You should know that by now. Some people trade with a few thousand worth of fiat, and the other does it with a few million. And why on an exchange as Bitfinex? Before the hack it was the best option for people looking to trade BTC/USD. Now it's the worst option.

These people are called STUPID FUCKING WHALES.

Having a pile of money doesn't confer intelligence or experience. People trading on BFX after their network outage were idiots, and after the hack, completely retarded. Much like Gox, there were warning signs that were ignored.

I don't feel sorry at all for any "whale" that lost anything. BFX will get what they deserve in the long run, including their ill-run business getting shut down.

Who's to say that this user wasn't an early adopter? After all, I assume newer adopters would be smart enough to be careful with their money. $3,000,000 is about 4777 BTC at current prices, so maybe this person mined early on, or bought some? (Though, even at 20 cents, it's still almost $1000.)

Perhaps it was someone who was excited for the development of bitcoin a couple years ago, who'd invested some money into it but wasn't smart enough to protect their funds.
5287  Other / Meta / Re: Proactive fighting with spammers. Doing it the right way on: October 20, 2016, 09:03:38 PM
I would venture a guess and say that banning these users would be an abuse of the ban-hammer. Yes, they are mostly posting total shit, but this is evidently not enough to start giving out bans
No, it is not. Read the list of forum rules properly. People have been getting banned for years because of this.

Spamming should not be condoned - it should be as simple as that. If any person could kindly tell me why spammers help the bitcointalk ecosystem (apart from pointless traffic for ad revenue) in any way at all, then I will certainly change my ways and turn into a hardcore one-line spammer myself. After all, I can easily pump out hundreds of useless posts to grind out those cents!

I personally do not think that spamming would ever be useful. I also do not condone posting in threads where there are scores of pages (exceptions are there, but in general) since they're just filled to the brim with regurgitated content and vague/general agreements and replies. You might see two users replying to one another, but they know what they're doing (if they aren't alts of each other that is) - they're feeding off each other, helping the other spam hoping to be able to reply to them to get those precious cents in return.

On the topic of whether
I will not mention any because I believe that if I play any gambling games, I will win and lose. The scenario is most likely happening on luck based game like dice. It doesn't mean that if I won several times, I am already good at dice, right? Same case on others, I think it's not only me. This is just my point of view though. Of course, on games like sports betting, poker or the like, skills are also used. However, we can't deny the fact that luck will always be part of every game
is a shit post or not, I think it's important to note the fact that the post is literally lengthened only to increase the character count. Do you see how much the user is repeating themselves, and just trying to add on more words? "Same case on others, I think it's not only me. This is just my point of view though." etc. etc.

Here's a couple more posts that I personally find to be spam:

to me i think i am too much good in playing gambling on cricket, as i have a good experience of cricket as i was a good cricket player i also know about all the good cricket players therefore it is very easy for me to play gambling on cricket and make good money.

yeah i think most people would agree with you here as well. we all have a sport that we are interested in and betting in those sport gives us a decent chance of winning especially if we're following a specific team or league. it's also more fun as you'll be rooting for the team that you prefer. compared to gambling games that you just sit out and wait for results. i think it's also one, if not, the most entertaining gambling type that you can try. as you get to enjoy not only your wager but the game as well

yeah these sports are actually those gambling type games that doesn't rely entirely on luck. i can say i'm pretty experienced with poker as well. it's very entertaining especially if you play with actual players instead of online. the excitement and the fun is different when you do it with real people. also sports betting. i' ve won quite a lot already with basketball and boxing betting since those are the sports that i' m interested at and i have quite a lot of knowledge about

Source: Is it just me or has the quality of this forum dropped immensely - me

Do you really think that agreement posts are useful? Sure. It's advertisement for whatever service they're getting money from, but it shouldn't matter what they're advertising - this is a forum, and at the end of it, you need to consider their post quality.

If I spam on random forums with crap and advertise bitcoin.org in my signature, is that acceptable? I hope not.
5288  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: pocketdice.io scammed 102btc, please help!!! on: October 20, 2016, 08:48:32 PM
hi Friends chilashin
i  send you some btc 879 mbtc  (550 dollar)

friends chelashin i will send you again

your btc adress: 1Hs7hv9qcs9kYh1SoytpjifpTHhMyU81M

blockchain id : 2b70fc4471286a5df23781401e869eeeddfa19d69bb445c8cfe8817c8fb25018

My question is: why are you doing this, still? What are you really trying to achieve here? Even in the unlikely circumstance that you aren't friends chilashin, why are you sending bitcoins to them over and over, while publicly announcing it? Do you want to try and start a snowball effect of donations? Because quite simply, that will not work. People are stingy with their money and won't simply provide generosity for some random person who has broken English and always posts cryptic messages to sound insightful.

5290  Other / Meta / Re: HOW TO REDUCE SCAMMING on: October 19, 2016, 09:12:31 PM
Ive been scammed maybe 4 times for low amounts

So every time I see these scumbags selling the same stuff them im not sitting back and letting anyone else get scammed.

Do you understand the reasons now why im commenting on EVERY post they do or would you rather I keep quiet and let the scamming scum on this forum have a free reign to do whatever they want and get away with it ?

I understand the purpose, but the execution is horrible. You could continue bumping their threads with huge red font in all-caps saying, "SCAMMER"... or alternatively you can write a post (bold is fine, it also captures the eye but doesn't strain it as much) and provide a reference to past scams that they've been a part of. Wouldn't that be better, instead of looking like you're trolling?

Just a simple little
Code:
[url=link][/url]
goes a long way.

Without proof and just words, what help are you to potential victims?

What looks more reputable?

SCAMMER THIS SCUMBAG IS A SCAMMER LOL WHAT A LOSER

or

This user is a scammer. Do not trade with them.

This thread shows the past trade between californiacauliflower and redfiretruck, where redfiretruck scammed 0.01 BTC.

Avoid buying any services from redfiretruck.

Obviously example names, but you should see the point. At least a little? (The second example wasn't too great, but obviously if you're trying to prevent scams you would have more time to fine-tune it.)
5291  Other / Archival / Re: Girlbtc.com is copying my work on: October 19, 2016, 09:05:41 PM
It will be interesting if at a moment bitcointalk to be connected to the bitcoin network and give some special fees for scammers and etc.

You mean you want to centralize the bitcoin network?

1. That goes completely against the point of the decentralized network.
2. That can't even be enforced since scammers would just send the coins to some other address and continue scamming with new addresses. If you are to refute this by stating that the fees will carry on, then that can simply be abused by people to have others charged extra fees for no reason.

And at the end of it, you can't really say who's a scammer. Anything can be faked, and if this "idea" were to be implemented in whatever way, what's to stop people from using someone else's address and fake-scamming someone to increase their fees? Think about it for a second.
5292  Other / Meta / Re: Is it just me or has the quality of this forum dropped immensely on: October 19, 2016, 08:45:36 PM
Every forum allows signatures and there are some kind of incentives on every forum for encouraging members participation.

Some forums encourage member participation. I think you'll find that usually the biggest incentive in some of the non-gambling/money-based forums is just activity and reputation. I think people enjoy being part of a community and discussions.

Just using technical jargons or grammatically perfect English doesn't make a quality post

This is true, but the problem is that most of the broken English posts (let's say 99%) are not quality posts. You can try to bring up anecdotal examples of quality posts that do have broken English, but I'm willing to be that most of them are short (one sentence, but still useful). I will say that usually if the post requires you to read it more than once to understand the WORDS (provided they're moderately simple and not technical terms) then it's garbage.

And this is just from observations, but I can also say that over 80% of posters that do not use capitals (type posts all lowercase) are spammers.

Example:

to me i think i am too much good in playing gambling on cricket, as i have a good experience of cricket as i was a good cricket player i also know about all the good cricket players therefore it is very easy for me to play gambling on cricket and make good money.

yeah i think most people would agree with you here as well. we all have a sport that we are interested in and betting in those sport gives us a decent chance of winning especially if we're following a specific team or league. it's also more fun as you'll be rooting for the team that you prefer. compared to gambling games that you just sit out and wait for results. i think it's also one, if not, the most entertaining gambling type that you can try. as you get to enjoy not only your wager but the game as well

And... when the posts begin with "yeah" or "i agree", it's usually spam.

It should also be noted that not only are one-liners spam, but also longer posts that are just recycling content over and over again.

Example:

I will not mention any because I believe that if I play any gambling games, I will win and lose. The scenario is most likely happening on luck based game like dice. It doesn't mean that if I won several times, I am already good at dice, right? Same case on others, I think it's not only me. This is just my point of view though. Of course, on games like sports betting, poker or the like, skills are also used. However, we can't deny the fact that luck will always be part of every game.

All of the examples are taken from the same thread, by the way.

And this isn't exact a thing about spam, but it's just the form of typing: When You Capitalize Every Word In The Sentence It Doesn't Look Nice. I have to strain my eyes to read, and usually it's not even worth reading - an attempt at looking grammatically correct is what the capitalization does... and it fails.

I am Not Good at Any Gambling Activity Because I am not a Gambler And I Don't Do Gambling For Making Any Money, I Gamble Only For Fun and Entertainment....
I also Suggest You that Leave these Types of Shit gambling Websites Because You Can Lose More As Compare to Your Winnings.....

What an eyesore.

So what is a quality post? Perhaps... something that takes brain power? A post that requires you to think about what you're going to type, instead of just literally reading the title, none of the past posts, and replying as fast as you can to pump out those cents quickly. Just my fifth of a dime.
5293  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Do not play at Oshi.IO bitcoin casino, SCAM!! on: October 19, 2016, 03:40:25 AM
Why do people always tend to play with these kind of sites which is  not   soo popular yet and reputable enough thats why  sometimes  the  mistakes  are on the  players  itself  because  they are  not responsible enough to the risk involve on playing  on a shady site.

This is the stupidest comment I've seen today.

At what point would you play a site according to its "popularity"? You have to realize, sites that start up are in fact unpopular, and hence according to you, not reputable and shady. If the onus is on the players, then how would any gambling site grow? How would Primedice have grown? This argument is just completely illogical.

Besides, you have to realize: oshi.io by no means looks unprofessional. If they weren't running on https, then that would be a red flag. If they had a simple UI made in HTML, then that would be a red flag [example girlbtc]. If they were a new casino with only newbies supporting them in the threads, then that would be a red flag. So far, I haven't come across any for oshi. So why is it shady?

Now then... as for this scam accusation...

Oshi definitely should handle the issue of these "double spend attacks" by simply changing one thing: waiting for a confirmation. If you're having so much trouble with these attacks, why not sacrifice a little bit of user experience for an increase in security? It's that simple.

@OP and/or Oshi

Can you post the transaction logs so that everyone can see the BTS of what's happening and why speculations are being thrown around?
5294  Other / Archival / Re: Girlbtc.com is copying my work on: October 19, 2016, 03:30:26 AM
1.I am not going to disagree with you , that I did copy your thread and made a campaign.  because at that time , I think all campaigns are the same , there are no copyright. And the purpose of the campaign is to make the forum active.

Is plagiarism ever okay? You may have thought that all campaigns were the same, but then why wouldn't you bother checking other campaigns? Or perhaps creating your own, with inspiration from Lutpin's layout?

3.I changed the Signature Design, and also  locked the old thread  ,started a new thread with nothing similar to youalmost immediately to show that I am positive and friendly  to  make this accident down.  also leaved a positive trust on you to mark your are a good Signature Campaign Manager.
Your new thread still has essentially the same things on it. Changing a few words here and there doesn't mean it's not plagiarism. You pretty much just removed centering and changed about 20 words, along with some of the text in the signature. I can't copy someone's essay, go into thesaurus.com and switch up a couple of words to state that it is my own. Also, leaving a positive trust has no purpose whatsoever.

About plagiarism: it doesn't matter if you apologized or PMed for solutions - it doesn't change the fact that you did it. And I would like to think that most people understand that copying work is not okay. At all.
5295  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♠BETCOIN.AG♠👺 OFFICIAL THREAD 👹 The Poker Sports Casino 🖕UNCENSORED🖕 on: October 19, 2016, 03:25:43 AM
I'm not even sure what's in there or if there's any left. There was 0.00177 and 0.0003 withdrawn.

What did you use for Betcoin registration that's the same with your localbitcoins account? (Email, password, username)?

It may have been a security leak, either from a third-party source, or in the worst case, Betcoin, attempting to quite simply scam user information before anything is done on the main site itself. After all, the announcement of the VIP freerolls would increase volume (potentially anyway) so it's the perfect time to start the exit scam.

Hello Bitsler Campaign members Id like to announce youre being given a chance for more money via a lucky roll on the dice by myself or Baryom. On payday one of us will do 1 roll on Bitsler website. If the roll comes out to your numbers, your campaign payment will increase by 25%. Its free to you guys as a thank you for advertising with the site.

You can look on the spreadsheet to see what number range you have.
I checked the spreadsheet but couldn't find my number range (or anyone's range, for that matter).

Right here, on sheet 8. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jsxylSg7aOm2I9AjC3d3sBeqcXaeOzmSHe5g0XThibQ/edit#gid=7012105

Your range would be: 0-3.70.

So I noticed Betcoin recently added a new game to their collection.  For some reason they didn't spam the big news like they normally would...I wonder why?

Oh, maybe because it's basically just glam life part 2.

MEGA GLAMLIFE!

In this game you can win a big jackpot in a bonus round, even if it's triggered by free-spins.

Come out Cjmoles.  You've been hiding long enough.

What's likely to happen is that the response would be, "they are different games so they must have different rules" and then there would just be nonstop ad hominem and character attacks that lead to nothing but more payments for him...

That is, if he were to come back and argue for Betcoin. I doubt it, though. Unfortunately, people still play at Betsoft even now because of the entertainment value... even though slots are the worst games to play, and doubly so when they're run by scammers.

Regardless, wasn't it already defined that Betcoin had lied about the ToS update date, changed the rules, and Betsoft had the game rules changed as well just to avoid paying out? There's nothing more to discuss, apart from trying to convince people to stop advertising the website.

what yahoo? no way? he is stealing money from the participants by making hidden rules in the campaigns.

Example being?

you can see on his posts he is abusing on every of his posts

Clarify.

he only know abusing words and participants have issues on different campaigns of his and his campaigns run only a few weeks

I've searched for "yahoo" in Scam Accusations and Reputation, and I've found nothing, apart from some butthurt spammers.

the owner rush away because of poor management of yahoo. try another one like lutpin is not abusing anyone.

Why would the owner rush away if yahoo is paying the campaign registrants less? Wouldn't the owner leave if the campaign was either: a) a scam or b) running low on funds? If yahoo's paying signature campaign members less, then isn't that more beneficial to the owner? (In the short-term, anyway)
5299  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Doubloon.co | WAGER CONTEST - Week 1 on: October 17, 2016, 06:49:52 PM
Contest ends in 30 minutes.
Prizes will be credited on Wednesday as always Smiley

Actmyname, the exact ending time is monday at 8PM GMT+8. And you posted that wager amount in your joining post and it didnt change, so I'd say it doesnt count... It was about who would wager the most AFTER joining the event. So whoever has the highest difference between joining and finishing event, in wager amount, wins. Hope I made it clear, english isnt my native language
In fact, my wagered amount this week was pretty much what I posted minus ~6000 bits or so. Even if that wasn't the case, go backwards in the archive history. You'll find that there's a significant ~260k gap from 2 days ago.

https://archive.is/Viqzz#selection-453.0-453.14 - 41,399.51 bits
https://archive.is/zVgwR#selection-453.0-453.15 - 302,032.30 bits

Regardless, as of now, I'm still in the lead.

The terms were to post before the wagering, sadly.. So I could see the actual difference in your wagered stats.
I'll be calculating from tonight till tomorrow to see the winner.

Regards,
JM Erestain
I'm unsure about what the exact problem is. Those archives show that there's a roughly 260,000 bit difference between two days. Why would that not show that I wagered that amount? After all, these archives can't exactly be faked.

The problem with posting your wagered amount beforehand is the fact that you wouldn't be able to cross reference it with the actual stats - unless you're slaving away at this thread 24/7
