I can't believe that Dortmund really lost two points against Bochum tonight. This was such an important match like the remaining ones for them to keep the lead. Adeyemi wasn't impressive at all today. He wasted two big goal chances which could have helped them win the match. Moukoko also got really close to scoring the winning goal but his shot was saved.
Bochum goalkeeper showed a really impressive performance today honestly. He made many saves and prevented a loss for themselves. He can even be the man of the match I mean. Bochum are trying not to relegate from the Bundesliga on one hand so I understand this dedication. But Dortmund were still the much stronger side. They should have won this one. They handed over the opportunity to Bayern Munich once again.

Arsenal have become a big disappointment about their title goal in only a few weeks. They got three draws in the games they could have won normally. The defensive issues caused them big issues. If they won those games and lost points to Manchester City only then it wouldn't have been a big problem for them. But now they are on the brink of losing the lead.
I still hope to see Arsenal winning the rest of their games at least to maintain their championship chance as much as possible. They should definitely be winning against Chelsea up next. Honestly as I said before, in my humble opinion, if Real Madrid get through to the semi-final they've practically won the cup. This semi-final has the flavor of a final.
Madrid has high faith and confidence so they make sure they focus more on the UCL because they believe they can win the UCL again this season so they are not consistent in the league, but it is different from Manchester City while they focus on almost all domestic league competitions and also UCL, I know it might tire Manchester City players but Guardiola might want to instill in their players to have a winning mentality in all competitions, I believe Manchester City deserves to win the league this season more than Madrid. If Madrid fail in the UCL then they will also not get a league title except for the Copa Del Rey which still has a chance because it will play in the final against Osasuna even though on paper Madrid can be sure of winning the Copa Del Rey. To be honest, this season Real Madrid is not too convincing to win the Champions League, that's if I compare the performance between them and Manchester City. It is undeniable that Manchester City deserves more to win, once again if we look at the comparison between the two. But we know that Real madrid are a team that can always pull off big surprises, and that could happen in this match. I think the only thing that's not cool about Real Madrid this season is the fact that they've invested more energy in the UEFA Champions League than the domestic Spanish La Liga competition and I said it is not a very wise idea because there's no certainty that they're gonna win the European Cup this season as they'll even face the strongest team in the competition this season in the semi finals. It is rumored that Atletico and Barcelona want to swap their players, namely Yannick Carasco and Ferran Torres. Actually this is an advantage for Atletico to be able to get Ferran Torres at a relatively young age and Barcelona seem to prefer Yannick Carasco who has more experience with his age which is almost touching 30 years soon. They underestimated their opponent because they were doing well until the situation changed, and Tottenham took advantage of their chance to make sure they added another goal. I believe that Manchester United was at ease because they believed there was no way that Tottenham would have scored a goal, and to their greatest surprise they did, is actually a lesson learned.
Perhaps they did underestimate their opponents as they were doing so well and leading by two goals in the first half. They built up the pressure during the first half but couldn’t continue and lost the momentum gathered from th first half. They truly seemed to be a ease and probably thought Spurs couldn’t turn things around and comeback from being two goals down. Two goals isn’t actually that difficult to recover from for a motivated team and Spurs proved it in this game. I also observed there were some good chances for both sides to score more goals. Manchester United should have rode on the first half win to get the three points at the end of the final whistle. I do not think that Manchester United players underestimated the Tottenham players. There is not how you are going to undermine a team that has three star players are different: namely; Richardson, Kane and Son. One of the major problems of Manchester United this ending of the season is the coach has wrong substitution mentality. I remember, when he makes these changes problems arose in the team, He did it the last match and he did it again this much, and he has done it, a couple of matches, he should learn to stick with his plan to the end of the game, and not make unnecessary changes in the midfield and defense to scatter everything. |

Milan have done a really great job so far in the Champions League unlike their general Serie A performance. They can even qualify for the final round now. In the meantime Rafael Leao has been one of the most impressive players of the team. His contribution level with goals and assists to his team has been at a significant rate until now. This must have attracted the attention of some big teams already.
Right now, he has a contract running until June 2024. This is a pretty close date as there is only around a year left. I wonder if Milan have started negotiations for a new contract already. They had better do so because it would be really difficult to keep him in the team otherwise. It isn't a big deal for rich teams to spend amounts like 100 million euros or so on skilled players like this. We might even see at least one team making an offer and trying their chance this summer.
I would personally wants to see a Champions League finals of an English team versus an Italian team ir a Spanish team versus an Italian team. For some recent times, the finals have always been between the Spanish team and the english team. The Champions League can't just depend on one player. even though messi is a sensational player but depending on Messi in the Champions League and blaming him when he fails is a condition that is quite childish I think.
This requires team harmony and not just an individual thing when it comes to bigger competitions.
A team must work together which will produce perfect results. relying on one player is not very good let alone blaming him when he fails to advance to the next round. lionel messi has given all his best strength for psg this season and failure in the champions league certainly can't blame him. psg must try to be even better next season in the champions league they need performance and coaches who have long experience in the champions league so that when they meet a strong team in the champions league they can cope with a strategy from a coach who is able to give tough resistance to his opponents. It is not ideal to rely on one player to win the Champions league and even if you want to rely on a particular player it should not be Messi at his age. Neymar Jr even made better efforts than what is happening presently when he was signed as the hit man for PSG. Again I believe the ability of Mbappe to pull a solo effort in the Champions league than Messi. Nature cannot be cheated. Messi ha played his prime and he is not much hungry to win any more thing because he has won all already. |
