Wall St: Bubble Paranoia Setting in as S&P 500 Surge Stirs Angst

Quote
Two years of uninterrupted gains in U.S. stocks are sowing anxiety among financial professionals, with three in five saying the market is on the verge of a bubble or already in one, the Bloomberg Global Poll found.

Forty-seven percent of those surveyed said the equity market is close to unsustainable levels while 14 percent already saw a bubble, according to a quarterly poll of 562 investors, analysts and traders who are Bloomberg subscribers. Almost a third of respondents called the market for lower-rated corporate debt overheated and most said stock swings will increase within six months, the July 15-16 poll showed.

One in Six Say Immigration Most Important U.S. Problem

Quote
PRINCETON, NJ -- With thousands of undocumented immigrant minors crossing the nation's southern border in recent months, the percentage of Americans citing immigration as the top problem has surged to 17% this month, up from 5% in June, and the highest seen since 2006. As a result, immigration now virtually ties "dissatisfaction with government," at 16%, as the primary issue Americans think of when asked to name the country's top problem.

Smugglers Operate in Plain Sight Across the River from Roma, TX
Quote
ROMA - Smugglers are operating in plain view and during the day along the Mexican side of the Rio Grande across the border from Roma.

A CHANNEL 5 NEWS crew watched as the smugglers blew up rafts, took payments and sent men floating across the river.

The smugglers threatened the news crews.

Dozen of vehicles circled the river bank on the Mexican side all day. Many of the vehicles had Texas license plates.

Less than a mile away, it was business as usual at Riverview Plaza.

"We feel just as safe as we used to feel. Roma is a very safe, tranquil community," business owner Fernando Pena said.

Pena said he hasn't noticed an uptick in crime.

Customers at the shopping center were divided about safety in the region.

"I let the law enforcement take care of it, because it's not safe," one shopper said.

The man didn't want to show his face for fear of retaliation. He said smugglers have become increasingly bold.

The man said he is grateful for increased Texas Department of Public Safety patrols.

Roma Police Lt. Rafael Aguirre also is grateful for the extra help from DPS.

"The influx of immigrants in our town, and others in the Valley, is nothing new. It's been around for years," Aguirre said.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS cameras witnessed only men trying to cross the border.

Many of the scouts were young boys and teens. The CHANNEL 5 NEWS crew tried to speak with some of them, but they would only say they are affiliated to the Gulf cartel.
Obama's offering more job opportunities for Mexican drug cartel members than he is getting the government out of the way and allowing business to thrive in America to create better jobs.

Most Voters Want to Send Latest Illegal Immigrants Home ASAP
Quote
Most voters don’t want any of the young illegal immigrants who’ve recently arrived here housed in their state and say any legislation passed by Congress to deal with the problem should focus on sending them home as soon as possible.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 59% of Likely U.S. Voters believe the primary focus of any new immigration legislation passed by Congress should be to send the young illegal immigrants back home as quickly as possible. Just 27% say it should focus instead on making it easier for these illegal immigrants to remain in the United States. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Advocates for the illegal immigrants argue that they are flooding into the country to escape violent situations in their home countries, but just 31% of U.S. voters think they are coming here now for their own safety. Most voters (52%) believe they are coming here for economic reasons. Seventeen percent (17%) are not sure.

Sounds interesting. I just tuned into the 3rd largest radio show here in America and the host (Michael Savage) was just scraping the surface on this. Isn't it quite helpful to Obama and the warmongerers that immigration and its related problems is completely off the map and now the focus can turned towards Russia? Immigration became the biggest issue in America recently and Obama's approval numbers were in the gutter and now this.. What would Russia stand to gain if they knowingly or unknowingly shot down a civilian aircraft? Nothing in the international community's eyes. Ukraine easily stands to gain as would any western intelligence agency trying to put Russia in a bind.

Article that came w/ the poll numbers
NBC News: Rand Paul is your early GOP front-runner
Quote
Our fourth and final takeaway: Rand Paul is your early Republican front-runner. Yes, the NBC/Marist polls show a crowded and wide-open field in Iowa and Hampshire. And, yes, they even show Mr. Undecided leading in both (20% in Iowa, 22% in New Hampshire). But note that Paul has the highest favorable ratings in Iowa and New Hampshire. Note that he appears at the top of the early horserace fields in those two states (when you eliminate Mr. Undecided). Note he runs best against Clinton in both Iowa and New Hampshire. And note all of the other things he’s done in the past six months -- hire Rick Santorum’s former campaign manager, team with Cory Booker on legislation, and espouse a foreign policy that’s more popular with the public and even a plurality of Republicans. To borrow a NASCAR analogy, Paul has earned the pole position before the real race begins. Make no mistake: We’re unsure he can withstand half or more of his party trying to take him down (a la what happened to Howard Dean in late 2003). But he’s your early GOP front-runner.

The long and short of it is that Rand runs best against Hillary and is the front-runner for the GOP nomination.
5309  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Alternatives to Liberal Individualism and Authoritarian Collectivism on: July 17, 2014, 06:32:58 PM
It all boils down as to whether whatever this society that is being described puts a premium on rights or not. The spectrum is entirely dependent on that. And, is the instituted government's purpose to protect those liberties or does it exist to protect the state at the expense of those liberties. And yes, the base form of a right is the freedom of action of the individuals that make up the state or the consent of the governed. Most people would agree that there is a right to life but from there the waters can get murky really fast. The right to life holds endless corollaries that are residual rights all stemming from natural law. If you have the right to life, you should have the right to protect it or consume what you want assuming all responsibilities there of.

The right to be left alone unimpeded by others to enjoy one's liberty is a negative right. Positive rights, if there is such a thing, are those that require someone else to provide you with something and this is where the term gets flipped upside down. The alleged positive right of one directly affects the negative rights of another. If one has a right to life and consequently to work for themselves or their family to add value to this life or lives then it would also mean that nobody else has a right to make a claim on someone else's life or labor for their own purposes unless there's a consensual agreement in place. In comes all forms of welfare via government mandate or democratically elected legislatures. The USA was a constitutionally limited republic where the rules were enshrined in a document that became the governing contract between the people and their government. Unfortunately, as time went by less and less people paid attention to that document and thus elected or were swindled into electing other people that didn't uphold their oaths of office. Hence, we evolved into a democracy where the minority's rights aren't expressly protected as originally intended. A simple majority can now vote away the rights and wealth of the minority and that's how big government rises.
5310  Other / Politics & Society / Re: econ fagz, would estate tax solve income inequality? on: July 17, 2014, 06:03:41 PM
An estate or death tax hits someone or their family at their most vulnerable time in life: when someone passes. Furthermore, this wealth, property, etc was accumulated by working throughout one's life and that work was taxed yearly going back to when that work began. So, this estate has already been taxed throughout the ages and this is what's left after the fact. That said, liberals are known for always wanting to tax something else.
5311  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tea Party explained: a religious movement on: July 17, 2014, 05:59:50 PM
I'd like to make a distinction between Tea Party republicans and the liberty republicans. Unfortunately, the Tea Party started out based on fiscal issues alone but along the way it became bastardized by some establishment figures trying to inject the religious social stuff back into the fold which inevitably would marginalize the movement and then come full circle back to normal republican days prior to 2009. If we want to get technical about things, it was on Dec 16. 2007 when Ron Paul and co raised $6+million on the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party that was the real start of the modern Tea Party movement until Santelli and subsequently Glenn Beck took it over after the fact and made it broader.

Politically, now the establishment just bombards certain party primaries, where there's a Tea Party candidate running, with lots of money or outright voting fraud as is currently being found in the past US Senate Primary in Mississippi. Even though I don't care for much of their religious baggage (should be a private thing) I usually support their types over establishment republicans as a rule of thumb. They are much more willing to attempt to hold the line on spending and that's a big fricking deal these days when the debt is $17 trillion + and counting while establishment republicans always cut deals w/ the progressives unless there's a political reason not to. Sen. Ted Cruz and Sen. Mike Lee are good examples of these types.

Now the liberty republicans. These types are Sen. Rand Paul, Rep Justin Amash, Rep Thomas Massie, and a dozen or so more and growing each election cycle. These types are much more willing to do non-traditional republican things like fight the NSA, audit the Fed, push for foreign non-intervention to name a few. This is definitely where I spend my time and money, where by the former just usually gets my vote. The main key here is to keep building an anti-establishment alliance with whoever will be part of it and that means rogue progressives on certain issues too. At least now a days, republicans are trending in a more populist way towards that of the liberty republicans and that's why Rand is gaining more support.

Outlaws Russian-made AK-47 rifles with stroke of his unconstitutional pen
Quote
Obama exploited the conflict in Ukraine to target the importation of the popular AK line of firearms manufactured by Kalashnikov Concern in Izhmash, Russia. The unconstitutional ban includes the Saiga line of rifles and shotguns.

The Treasury Department’s  Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) attempted to soften the blow by stating the executive order does not outlaw Kalashnikov firearms legally purchased in the United States prior to the ban.

The OFAC, according to its website, "administers and enforces economic and trade sanctions based on US foreign policy and national security goals against targeted foreign countries and regimes, terrorists, international narcotics traffickers, those engaged in activities related to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and other threats to the national security, foreign policy or economy of the United States.”

They have actually decided against doing this.

It was truly sick that they would even consider doing something like this.
Conservative preachers were probably calling their people to shut this nonsense down. I have a feeling whoever was involved in this from that Org is in some deep water right about now, as they should be.
I read a story today about how there have been protests throughout the country, protesting the children who are entering the US illegally. This is happening even in liberal areas of the country.

Children that are entering our country illegally are essentially being welcomed in and many people do not like this. I anticipate this being a hot topic this upcoming election and I expect liberals to lose more seats in both the house and senate then they otherwise would as liberals tend to support illegal immigrants.
Exactly, places like California, Maryland and even Michigan had big time town halls and/or protests over the shipment of these people to said areas and many of the youtube highlights were from black women going off on councilors and the like. Youtube it and check it out.

BIG UPDATE— Baptist Child and Family Services Withdraws Bid for Palm Aire Resort

Due to backlash the charity received after the story was posted on The Drudge Report, Baptist Child and Family Services withdrew it’s bid for the Palm Aire Resort.

The charity said it was disappointed and that the resort would have been perfect for the illegal alien children.

HBO Real Time host Bill Maher (notorious fakeass liberal) is recommending Democrats learn something from Republicans when it comes to the Middle East. Namely, how to take a position.

“[P]rops have to be handed out to the Republicans for actually having a healthy debate with two clear, unequivocal sides,” Maher wrote on his blog Wednesday. “Democrats don’t do that anymore.”

Maher framed his view using recent comments by both Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and former Republican vice president Dick Cheney.

Paul has gained a reputation for opposing the use of military force in foreign affairs that don’t directly involve the U.S. Cheney takes a more aggressive stance, advocating for the U.S. to maintain a strong presence in the Middle East.

“Even though [President Barack] Obama clearly sides more with Paul, he’s shy about articulating it as clearly,” Maher wrote. “Democrats instead try to play the game the way Republicans used to – arguing for peace and freedom but also pleasing the douchebag demographic by bragging about our strength and rattling our sabers and striking from the air. But while Democrats are out there proving that they’re not pussies, Republicans, for once, are the ones having a real dialogue.”

I'd have to agree, but with the way things are going, it could be like the internet is today, within a year or 2.  Better educational material and easier ways to acquire BTC would help things, as most people I know wouldn't have the technological knowhow to buy BTC.
Yeah, very few people that I've tried to explain BTC to can make it past 30 seconds worth of educating, it starts to hurt their brain or go over their head. I've been recalibrating my explanation and leaving out all the techie stuff that even took me many months to come to grasp with. If I hadn't been a libertarian, I'm the type of person that would never have given a crap about digital currencies. Heck, I heard about it on Free Talk Live for over a year and it just kept pissing me off hearing about it over and over. Finally, I got past my disgust for this shit and embraced it.
