5303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I use dark wallet or dark coin? on: February 15, 2015, 05:08:40 AM
In every transaction there's a input. You can spend two wallets in one transaction together. If you accidentally do that, your first address will be tied to the other one and people will know that both of them are controlled by the same owner. Send the change to a mixer for example, [INPUT A] -> [OUTPUT A (The person you want to pay to]) [OUTPUT B(The change) sent to the address you generated using a mixer] the mixer can then send the change to a seperate new address.

i.e., don't send from 2 addresses in 1 transaction. Instead, send from one address, then from another and so on.

@ranochigo: There is also other possibilty, create an umsigned TX whicb have UTXOs from two addresses, one is controlled by the person who sign and the other is controlled by friend/partner. It doesn't he owns both. This is very rare though.

5304  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Linux clients that don't need to download gigs of the blockchain? on: February 15, 2015, 04:54:11 AM
I recommend GreenAddress to you.

isn't multibit for linux also? there you go

Yes.

Yes, but I am going to recommend Electrum it runs real light and smooth and literally takes seconds to be up and running, whereas I have seen Multibit still takes some time to sync.

Multibit uses Java whereas Electrum uses Python which makes Multibit a bit slow in low CPUs. Have you tested Multibit HD? Its in Beta phase but it is better.

here I can download electrum in the package manager.

Armory too, but you will need the qt installed too

Me too. Synaptic package manner is a good one for instaling directly.

You can use CounterWallet with Armory offline which doesn't need Bitcoin-Qt.

5305  Other / Meta / Re: Please add a button to view the next page In a topic. on: February 15, 2015, 04:32:05 AM
I am referring to this button. It is next to the page numbers (in this thread it says "Pages: << 1 [2] All" - the 2 has the brackets because I am looking at page two currently) - it is on the bottom left and upper left

I thought so. The arrow is now bigger in mobile.

Edit : I could find a 'next/previous thread' button.

Edit: In top-left, the arrow and number is messed-up-like for me -> http://flic.kr/p/rbXsAC . Anyone have this problem?

5306  Other / Meta / Re: Ponzi "Game" == Negative Trust? on: February 15, 2015, 04:29:10 AM
I've decided today that I will be applying negative trust to anyone running a ponzi game that does not have the word "Ponzi" in the thread or website title. There's a lot of new ponzi games that are tricking less savvy users into thinking that they are "business games" and somehow sustainable due to their "professional traders" etc etc.
Some very reputable members of the forum were doing this around the time the gambling section was overrun by ponzis but this really had very little impact on people investing. People also would create additional accounts to serve as the spokesperson of the ponzi so you would need to somewhat closely follow the threads to see who is "speaking" for the ponzi

Every greedy persons do it.

Quote
It's been months and nothing has been done about this, I think it's incredibly irresponsible for the admins to let gambling continue to fill up with new scams every day.
The forum does not moderate scams

They can't moderate each and every scams but they can moderate Ponzis. I believe sooner or later, they will do.

from the looks of it he has just been promoted to a mod to the marketplace sections (which is something that is very much needed)....congrats

Congrats, hilariousandco! You are one of the person who is here for a long time(/day). Keep the good work! Smiley

edit: I didn't get the warning message saying it has been more then 120 days since the last post despite it being ~7 months since the last post in this thread

When I saw this, I just tested by bumping a topic in page 105, when I click 'reply' I can see the warning but when I use 'Quick Reply', I can't. So I assume warning didn't show as you used 'Quick Reply'. Did you?

P.S.

Maybe that warning message doesn't apply to Meta? Old threads discussing about some rule could still be relevant...

AFAIK it applies to all boards. I don't know about VIP/Staff/Donators boards.

I see that the  "arrows" as mentioned above have since been implemented for threads in addition to them already being there in boards

Are you telling about the 'Jump to' option at bottom-right? I couldn't find an arrow for switching boards.

Edit : I could find a 'next/previous thread' button.

I knew you were changing as the forum was terrible for some minutes. IMHO the next button, post/preview button and [new] button seems okay. Can you please revert other(UI) maybe except 'unread topics, watchlist and new replies.

They decreased the earnings as much as they can. The ponzi is collapsing.

just use electrum , its better in all ways online wallets are never 100% safe , offline wallets are if threated like they arent

What do you mean with offline wallets? Every type of wallet is online, I think you wanted to say "desktop wallet" or am I wrong? However greenAddress (in my opinion) is the best secure/strong webWallet much better than blockchain.info .

Perhaps he meant cold storage?

Nope. Didn't you just read the post after it? #44. Please avoid posts like these. Non-constructive+signature advertisement - may get a small period ban. Smiley

You bring this on yourself over and over.
How is this lying:
And the fact that you still fail to understand what you did wrong and werent fired shows with what kind of people customers of ANX have to deal with:

You're obviously attacking byt411 personally. Huh IMHO scammer doxing is a good thing and also he said he stopped 'questionable activities'. Why repeating?

You should be able to use your account for your signature campaign again once you repay your loan.

I think he wants to use his account to repay the loan by earning through the campaign and maybe in other ways too.

5318  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting posts on: February 14, 2015, 06:01:25 PM
For hilariousandco and me neutral means unhandled, however I think it is easy to implement this type of report stats.

For me too. My questions were related to previos questions and I didn't know how to define correctly(not a native/good English speaker). That's why you didn't understood correctly. Smiley

It's not possible to mark a report as neutral, it will just happen by default if everyone ignores it, so I suppose it's collectively marking it as neutral in those rare cases but there is no 'neutral / neither good nor bad' button.

When theymos used 'to be marked' instead of 'ignore', I was confused. Now I got it. Thanks again(incl. everybody who helped)!

5319  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting posts on: February 14, 2015, 05:53:35 PM
It's also possible (though rare) for a report to be marked as neither good nor bad -- such reports don't count toward your accuracy percentage.

The only way it would be 'neutral' is if every mod 'ignored' it.

If the staff member don't check the "report" it will stay neutral and your accuracy will not change.

So theymos is telling that reports will stay neutral if it isn't handled/skipped instead of reports marked as neutral? Remember, the neutral I am telling isn't about unhandled reports.

Edit:

A mod has three options to deal with a report: handle, bad, and ignore. If you ignore it any other mod can still deal with it and only if every mod ignores it will it never be handled either good or bad, but I'm guessing those instances are very rare and it is very unlikely every single mod will ignore it.

Thanks! Please look above and sorry for my stupidity!

There have been suggestions for both spoilers and collapsable quotes and I think they'd be both useful additions.

Voted. Yes, it would! Spoilers for big quotes and for images[1] will be good.

[1] The images shouldn't be pre-loaded and an option to refresh only the image will be another good addition.
