5301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which currency will popular in next bullrun? on: July 01, 2020, 12:07:38 PM
of course ethereum. people have been waiting for this for a long time. Personally, I've been waiting for this since 2019. However, rumors say that the price of ethereum can reach a new ATH.
That kind of rumors are always present, but when and what going to push a new ATH?

Well, I believe that. however, when COVID-19 spread, I thought I lost the opportunity. however, it looks like ETH 2.0 can bring significant changes to ethereum. Yeah, this will be popular when the next bull run.

I think ETH 2.0 would not make such hype, it still depends on the market status in overall, when the economy is not doing well, let's not expect investors will push investing that would increase the demand, I'm quite neutral this year and I don't expect an ATH even if they'll launch the ETH 2.0.

If only Kobe Paras goal on becoming a PBA player, he might also become a Rookie-MVP in his first year. But he dreamed of becoming an international player, specifically to be drafted in NBA that's why he trained at a young age in the US.

It's a hard decision. He can't just opt to sign a contract in PBA if he still wants to pursue his NBA dream. No years should be waste and as much as possible, he should always be there in the US playing for colleges or any leagues there.

Kobe's dream of playing in the US/NBA is over, that is why he is back in the Philippines. Last time i've heard on his team in the NCAA, he hardly play and can't get that playing time. Surely he will be drafted in the PBA for sure as he is the son of Benjie Paras and they've got lot of connections. Becoming a Rookie-MVP is very far from reality, he can't even dominate in the UAAP, how much more in the PBA.

Even without connections, I think his stats would make him get drafted in the PBA.
He is not dominating in the UAAP but the hype is still real as people who watch PBA does not necessarily the UAAP, they'll think that this guy played in the US so it has a big potential to be successful in the PBA. Japeth also failed in the NBA, but he has a good career now in the PBA, he is improving as we can see, so hopefully Kobe would have the same success or even better.

5304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: June 30, 2020, 10:56:02 PM
Public losing trust on Wilder?
If a fighter is refusing to accept defeat and start blaming on his outfit you think that the public would rally behind that fighter. Wilder was too confident in his punching power and he was arrogant moving up the division and everyone was banking on his knockout capability and Fury showed that punching power does not actually mean anything if you are not having technique and how can anyone vouch for Wilder after watching two fights.
The line is inviting the Wilder believers to to bet on him, at +250, I've never seen in the past that Wilder having that odds, most of the time he is a favorite.
For Fury, I think -350 is not that attractive, but if there's a betting odds on Fury winning by KO, I think that would give better odds.
5305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 30, 2020, 12:56:01 PM
The reason they have different playing styles. But with continuous development, stats-wise, Kobe may able to surpass his father. But in achievements, he needs to be drafted in PBA.

May surpass.. it's not impossible but I think Kobe still has to prove himself in the PBA.
I am not watching him in UAAP but based on https://www.rappler.com/sports/university/uaap/243863-numbers-top-stat-getters-season-82.. he hasn't dominated in stats though he has a good stats, so if he can't dominate in the UAAP, he might be challenge more in the PBA.

a new partnership with the largest company in the field of online payments, PayPal will soon be added at the XPOS terminals
https://medium.com/pundix/xpos-devices-soon-to-support-online-payment-giant-paypal-eb6f54100367

Today only they mentioned in the medium, whether they made an agreement with the Paypal or just adding to the XPOS machine, if they really got permission from the Paypal company then it is going to be another exciting news from the company, but still they are behind which they are not distributing their POS machines.

Maybe this signal for accumulation, currently at 2 sats now, I think it's still cheap.
What do you think guys? PundiX still has a change to get back to the top, or this coin will just continue sink despite of the good news?

I'm seeing an slight increase here - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/pundi-x/

Another bad news for the NBA, Spencer Dinwiddie is playing the best season of his NBA career and it's not good if they'll missed the season.
Their standing is good, but they still needs to win some games and they need a good PG, so hopefully Irving would play and think of helping his team as that's what he is paid to do.

his stats this season is pretty impressive :

On JR Smith signing with the Lakers, not sure if it's a good news, I'll leave that up to you guys to judge.

Congratulations to Ranidel de Ocampo de ocampo, he is now back with the TNT after the retirement, but with a different role.

Read the full stories.

TnT reunites with Ranidel de Ocampo, tapped as part of coaching staff

His journey with the PBA will continue as part of the coaching staff. It's really good to see PBA players who can still have the work after they retire, just like Jimmy Alapag, now we have RDO working, also hoping that he will be a successful coach in the PBA just like Jimmy " The Mighty Mouse".

Good for him, his loyalty to the TNT or the teams under MVP gives him that spot.
We never know if a player has a coaching ability until they are already working on a job, so I wish him success as well.
ROD was one of the exciting players in his time, especially during his prime so this is a great reward for him.

Maybe this position opens up as they waive coach TAB, am I right?

Meron bang nagpapromt na details or error? Natatandaan ko na meron akong mga naibentang ERC-20 coins dyan dati, direkta to Bitcoin nga lang...

Calvin Abueva confirms receiving Japan offer, but says not biting - yet

Commissioner Marcial has to lift the suspension soon if he still want Abueva to play in the PBA, this guy already has an offer and for sure with a bigger salary, he has not entertain the offer yet as he might just want to play in the PBA.

Quote
CALVIN Abueva confirmed on Saturday that he received an offer to play in the Japanese B.League, but said he's not biting - yet.

Hours after posting a message about an offer from a Japan team on his Instagram page, the controversial PBA player bared that an offer from one of the B.League teams was relayed to him by an agent/ friend.

“May alok ako, tinext ako nung kaibigan kong agent. Hinahanap nga raw ako sa kanya ng isang Japanese team,” said Abueva, who declined to identify the agent or the team that he said wants to approach him.

If they will listen to the fans, Commissioner Marcial will give us the good news, and it's nice to hear from Calvin that he would still prefer to play in the PBA but we know if he will get tired of waiting, he might bite the offer and his contract with the Phoenix will also expire soon.

This is complicated on the side of Abueva but i agree with his decision on not biting the offer. His contract with Phoenix will expire few months from now so he must not leave the country so that anytime they can talk with the management of the Fuel Masters and he must pursue for a long term one, maybe his as he is getting older. Being an import in Japan, he will get only short term contract with no guarantee of an extension. He should be loyal to Phoenix so that the team will give him good term, on the contract of course  Smiley.

You have a point, the level of competition in Japan could be different and they can just not renew the contract of a player if they don't like it anymore, so for long term it might be a disadvantage for him.

There are also rumors that they are targeting Terrence Romeo, so it looks like Filipino talents have become a world class talent already as other countries are interested to hire them.

All of what I said is coming from this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0U9IsLi2wEc ( it also tackles Thirdy Ravena's contract)
5312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premium/Fixed Betting tips by Doris on: June 28, 2020, 11:53:25 AM
Just a little warning. We had the "famous" table tennis guru YohannHermann earlier this year, who opened similar threads with premium/fixed/free tips, but proved to be not legit. He also operated under different accounts later and everything points to Doris being Yohann again for me.

Confirmed Sports Picks~ Daily profit (20 free trials before paid version)
Yohann's Sports Picks at High Odds
SportsBetting Picks! Premium Service (Guaranteed Sports Wins)

Raymond Talker most likely belongs to Yohann/Doris as well, to bypass the 24 hour posting rule.

I recommend to not follow the bets, since you are very likely to lose money.

Fair warning, actually I'd love to watch this kind of thread that shares their pick but I am not a fan of paying for premium picks as I believe most of them are not legit due to the simple logic I believed that if they have a winning bet, then why would they bet using their own money.

Anyway I'm still watching this thread.
5313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 28, 2020, 11:37:20 AM
He don't have any competition inside the court since there's no one gonna match on his height and strength but I have doubts in mind if he will still dominant after the big injury acquired,
There was none anymore since Greg is not playing in the PBA, but before Greg quit the PBA, there was a competition between them.
Greg maybe is not good in offense as Fajardo, but they have a good match up defensively, so now it's all Fajardo.

Sire people will miss GREGZILLA Grin

But I think he's strong since he's not old yet and might he will comeback more stronger since he is at rest for quite long time. He benefited the long time quarantine so I assume he is at full health when he comeback on the court in next opening.

We will find out once he returns in action, probably next year.
5314  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Earning From Digital Ads Will Be Taxed (e.g., Signature Campaign) on: June 24, 2020, 10:03:35 AM
There is no need to worry, though the general rule is to pay taxes when you earn, but if you can hide it, then why pay.
Besides, signature campaign is not a job, it's only a privilege, anytime they can stop the campaign, they can do it without violating our rights as we don't have any. lol..

Also, how would they know me, I'm mirakal here but in real life, do they know me?

Yun din ang iniisip ko. We don't have any KYC dito sa forum and our identity here will stay as anonymous. Kumbaga, BIR won't even touch or mingle with signature campaign participants unless ikaw o tayo mismo ang mag rereveal sakanila which of course hindi natin gagawin. And we are not actually earning 250,000 php a year (well, as for me) kaya not subject to pay annual taxes.

Sana ay may irecosinder sila dito lalo na ung mga small online sellers at freelancers na ito lang ang ikinabubuhay.z[

I know most of us are not earning 250k per year from signature campaign, but according to @Bttzed03 our income is taxable so we need to report it even if we are not required to pay, but for me, hell no, we will only give an idea to BIR that this kind of job or business exist.
5315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 24, 2020, 09:22:35 AM
I also like to ask to those experts here, how many days is the recovery period of a person infected with covid-19?
Since he is young and healthy guy in general, and an professional athlete, most likely he will be fine in a two or three weeks. NBA season restarts in 5 weeks, so could be back in time, but problem now is that he won't be able to prepare properly for continuation of season. You can't just jump in after few months break without proper physical preparation.
It is his own fault imo, a lot of people behave like it is all good, like virus suddenly disappeared. He was going out, meeting other people (among them was Djokovic who also is positive). Pretty stupid and irresponsible behavior, since he knew that season will start soon, and his team relies heavily on him.

I think he can still play, 2 weeks of practice I guess is already enough and I think the NBA organization has already seen this kind of possibility so they made the test early to give an ample time to recover for players who are tested positive.

2 weeks is very short, they have a good standing now and they are already insured of a playoff spot, so there is no pressure on the side of Jokic, all he has to do is just to recover from covid-19 and take more rest and just come back when playoffs start.

I think it's possible to see a fully healthy Jokic again.
5316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 24, 2020, 08:00:39 AM
thats because they are private and not govt controlled thats why they can do what they want and they insist to operate

I think that is wrong, every business that was halted because of the covid-19 pandemic needs an approval from the government before they can start to operate again, and Las Vegas casinos is not exempted. The difference I'm talking is the revenue, PAGCOR is owned by the government, they have bigger interest on it than to those private casinos where they only collect taxes as their income, and there's no big difference as they both belong to the casino industry, same set up of operation, they could also be a cause to spread the virus.

Now, you are saying that Americans are more discipline, I think that's wrong again, they are the number 1 in terms of number of cases which you can see the figures in my previous post.
5317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 24, 2020, 07:14:39 AM
Sorry but it seems like you are not seeing the revenue the government will earn from opening the casino, instead you only look at the risk.
The government will prioritize revenue over health that's only an opinion and how can they be so sure if they open they get gamblers flocking the casino, I don't think it will be that imminent. With the daily cases ramping to 600 - 700 and 200 of it are mostly in NCR and that's a gamble to them if they open and new more cases will be added and even if they are strict to it they may not know if these players are.
You guys have different opinion, both are good, one says about the economy and the other says about the health or safety of the people.
I think if we look at the other country, for example, USA, they are a big country so we can assume that they have a lot of savings for the pandemic, but question is, why they still open the casino operation? And in fact vegas is not a public owned casino while PAGCOR here is owned by the government.

Also, with regards to number of cases, USA has over 2 million while Philippines only has 31k, though it's growing but it's expected as the number were taken from different parts of the country.
5318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 23, 2020, 07:21:33 AM
I read the article about this also, it's dated June 8, 2020, don't know if it's the latest news but here's some important information I guess we should know.

Quote
“We’re going to get on with it in June or at the very latest in July,” Domingo said, noting that the reopening of gambling centers in the country would benefit the industry’s 132,000 employees.

source : https://business.mb.com.ph/2020/06/08/casinos-to-reopen-soon-pagcor/

Therefore, if it's not possible to open this month, we can expect them by next month, probably in the 1st week or 2nd week.

I'm really concern about the huge number of employees who lost their job.
5319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Home Court advantage = Not an advantage now because of no-live audience? on: June 23, 2020, 06:07:15 AM
Home court advantage is not gonna be an additional recipe to win for the NBA anymore once they resume. Because, the NBA is playing in a single facility in Orlando without the crowd of course.
Psychologically, the players will not get to used of a very silent and peaceful atmosphere inside the gym while playing at a high level. Thus, it will decrease the intensity and pressure in the game.

There's no denying the home court is somehow an advantage. What makes it more effective is the home crowd cheering for their home team.

Well, i agree to that and to think yourself as a player then you would really able to tell the difference playing on a place where theres crowd and if there's none.

As a player then you should really get used to it on where playing yourself at its best without minding the deafening silence around. This is the new normal and you should make yourself get used to it.

A few days ago where i do see boxing matches without no crowd where you can really say as a viewer that its somewhat boring to watch when theres no crowd interaction.

Not for me because I understand the situation, I would not look for a kind of fight like what we are seeing before the pandemic, if we can accept the reality are we really are a fan, I think somehow we can still enjoy watching the fight or the game live in TV.
5320  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Earning From Digital Ads Will Be Taxed (e.g., Signature Campaign) on: June 22, 2020, 01:23:00 PM
~ since we are talking about the 250k threshold in a yearly basis so our income will fall under the compensation income.

So here's the definition of gross compensation income : source

Quote
Gross compensation income is defined as taxable income arising from an employer/employee relationship and includes the following:

salaries, wages, compensation, commissions, emoluments, and honoraria
bonuses exceeding PHP90,000
allowances for transportation, representation, entertainment, and other similar items
fees (including director’s fees paid to a director who is at the same time an employee of the payer)
taxable pensions
taxable retirement pay
other income of a similar nature, including compensation paid in-kind.

So here's my question, do we have an employer-employee relationship when we are participating in a signature campaign?

If your answer is no, END OF DISCUSSION, if Yes then answer this question.

If there is an employer-employee relationship there should be a contract as the basis of employment, an employer or employee can file a legal action if one contracting party violated the contract.

Now, since I'm currently on a signature campaign, if the manager would fail to pay the agreed compensation, can I sue him/her/it (since we don't know if what we are working with is human or a robot or whatsoever)?

If your answer is yes, HOW?
You are making an assumption that it should fall under under an employer-employee relationship and that's the limitation of your argument.

It may look like that since we are the one "applying" but compensation from digital ads can easily be categorized as income from freelancing or from selling your signature space to other companies (self-employed). Go check the services board and you can see some members with "selling my sig space/avatar or advertise your project/company in my sig" types of posts.

Selling signature campaign space? I think what I found is renting signature space, there's a big difference.
I did a little research about selling services and I can't even find similar services with signature campaign.
https://simplicable.com/new/service-business

When we talk about selling signature space, we just need to wear the signature and the transaction is done, and when you are selling, you are the one telling the buyer what you are selling and he buys.

Most of the time it's different, the usual scenario is, there's a new campaign, the manager made an announcement with the rules and the requirement of the campaign, and we are required to apply in order to get accepted, so this is not us selling, it's us applying for the job as it's more than just wearing a signature in our profile since at the same time we are oblige to follow the rules of the campaign which if we fail, we will not get paid even if we are wearing the signature.
