Either airflow or, perhaps more likely, a heat source near slot 1. On my board, the CPU is right next to slot 1.

Interesting pattern I've noticed. It's been sort of bouncing downwards for the last 4 days. Is there a technical term for this sort of thing?
Mass hysteria.

i have a problem with my gigabyte 7950 rig. clocked at 1150/1400 i get about 610 kH/s (LTC) -> thats ok! the problem is the generated heat of the first one in the main pcie slot. while at all other 7950's the fans spins with about 2200 rpm to hold a target of 75°C, the first one runs with 3600 rpm (100%) and can't get below 77°C. same happens, when i use a card from another slot. any ideas?
win 7 64-bit (dedicated rig, no other software installed than drivers, winrar, realvnc and trixx) amd driver 13.1 sdk 2.8 cgminer 2.11.4 no display plugged in, no dummyplugs
thanks!
Poor contact between the heatsink and GPU? I'm assuming you're not running a tower? I was having "heat rising" issues for a while.

Back down we go. Below $50 tonight?
Well BTC70k have to be sold to do it this time, as opposed to the BTC20k that the crash stopped at. Wrong though. If it starts moving down, a lot of those orders will evaporate. Those popups on Bitcoinity are dangerous in manyways.

There was a ton of shrapnel. That's why everyone's legs were blown off. CNN reported that doctors were pulling ball bearings out of the runners legs.
New conspiracy theory: Runners were robots. I did a google search on "Boston false flag". It's already out there and it's about as lame as you'd expect.

Someone hide my Gox account. I think I'm getting tempted to do something stupid.
I need to get it embroidered and framed: "If in doubt, do 'owt"

I don't have the time right now to do it myself [...]
[...] I am still waiting for arguments as to why such a system would fail.
I think you have your answer. You have to have an incentive.

Anyone doing any Fourier analysis on this stuff. I'd be interested to see a wavelet-based 3d graph of what's happening.

Something of a scrap going on. Beginning to regret cashing out what I did but since I kept most, up is good.

My theory is that this was an act of domestic terrorism. Linked to the "sovereign citizens" movement. We should look for a 35-50yr. old American citizen who is anti-government and has few social contacts. Particularly someone hit hard by the economic downturn. I would think a lone wolf type.
Why would he bomb a marathon, though? That's only going to create more government. Cause he is stupid/unhinged. The only sane way to implement some kind of dissidence is with a decent sized group of like-minded people so you have backup and support. This is a problem for lone-wolf-types and the frustration also feeds back into their alienation and paranoia. This is a desperate act, I have no doubt.

http://blockchain.info/address/13qnEgPTxJW6mm88dLpnHXZyryN5EXBciqAny idea why only 0.01253471 BTC turned up for the 15:20:09 transaction? Edit: Never mind, I think I see what's going on. How many confirmations does it take? Wait, none of my mined coins appear to be turning up. What *is* going on? My balance seems to be correct. Do generated coins just not show up in the transaction history? BitcoinSpinner does not distinguish between coinbase transactions and 'normal' transactions. It should not count them towards your confirmed balance until after 120 blocks, but it doesn't work like this now. This is only a problem if you mine directly to a BitcoinSpinner address, but never the less something I should look into. Are you not set up with mining? I could mine a little directly to an address if you'd like to be able to check it out.

Annoyingly I wasn't planning on doing any more trading, just was a little tardy getting my coins out.

John Gulch from Atlas Shrug? You need to stop buying your books from those discount outlets Doh! Fixed. Thanks. 1/2 fixed.

This here is pretty much why I agree with the other thread, that compares Bitcoin to John's Gulch from Atlas Shrug, and think that the best, and possibly only, option for us is to just slowly migrate into bitcoin by ourselves, away from the established banking and political system, and leave everyone to their own stupid shit. Easy enough when BTC aren't taxed, aren't restricted, and are easy enough to take with you to other countries and trade for cash there.

Grr. Don't know what just happened but I went to sell 2.5 Bitcoins and ended up selling 2.5 and 2. Sell executed before I could cancel. Not please with Gox.

If early adopters and disheartened speculators want to sell it down to $20 and buyers are greedy enough to collectively wait, well, it will go to $20. That is within the realm of possibility. Then we would be sitting on a mere 100% YTD gain. Single digits, no way. At that point I can buy the new supply daily, which kind of stabilizes the freefall Indeed. I think at 20 or below, I would be buying regularly. I only made a couple of small buys above 100 but wasn't really comfortable with those. Just wasn't getting enough BTC for the $.

ugh. what sad shit I just awoke to...
well, we can't blame gox lag this time.
Just imagine if they had the lag shit fixed before. I wonder how big the initial sell of would have been. Clearly it would have been huge... but you have to wonder what the 'lag fear selling' did. I'm thinking the "getting bitcoins to Gox lag" that I experienced may have been a big cause. Think about it, price going to the sky, all those miners been waiting and ready to take a bit of profit, initiate a transfer to Gox bitcoins which would help to keep the price down and dampen the exuberance and.... Nothing. Then a few days later comes the big crash. Suddenly all these bitcoins are in the accounts of people who are now in sell mode and the price is heading down fast. What do you do? Sell of course, hastening the crash. Mine finally went through this morning and I sold a few but this delay has cost me. And there's no reason for it. Gox is definitely not an ambassador for Bitcoin.

Yeah, and in other news, apples and oranges are both spherical. That's what I'm counting on. Cause I'm holding.
