Poor English is the biggest obstacle of learning on bitcointalk. It makes us unable to express well and make the article poor quality.
That's not necessarily true.

There are "local" boards designed for users who speak/read/write in languages other than English. (I believe these boards even have "merit sources") So, there is no reason why you cannot participate (assuming there is a local board for a language you are fluent in), even if your English is "poor".
5322  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understanding about Hash functions on: July 21, 2018, 09:46:48 AM
I do not have source but I remember to read that it is very rare scenarios but it is possible that 2 different input can have same hash.
You are indeed correct... this is known as a "collision". Refer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collision_(computer_science)

Basically, it depends on the size of the output space for your hash function. The larger the space, the smaller the chance of a collision.

For example, if you have a 2 bit hash function (as opposed to bitcoins 256 bit hash functions)... then the only possible outputs of your hash function are:
Quote
00
01
10
11

Given any two different inputs... there is a 1/4 chance that they'll both generate the same output. A 256 bit hash function on the other hand has 2256 possible outputs... the odds of finding a collision are so small it is generally regarded as zero.
5323  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: private key to json file on: July 21, 2018, 09:31:02 AM
There are much better options to secure your MyEtherWallet than using some unknown, closed-source wallet app (imtoken??!? never heard of it!). I do not recommend following this procedure at all... Exporting/Importing private keys is asking for trouble unless you know exactly what you're doing and have taken adequate precautions to ensure your keys are not compromised.

You'd be better off using a well known, open-source and respected utility like MetaMask or getting a hardware wallet etc.
5324  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: TOKENIZATION OF ASSETS on: July 21, 2018, 09:22:45 AM
Have you tried Google or any of the other major search engines? Huh I hear they have quite a bit of information about a lot of different subjects... Tongue

5325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin wallet on: July 21, 2018, 09:09:05 AM
Is there any good bitcoin app wallets you guys can recommend?
You should start here: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

It has a list of well known and relatively trusted wallets for a number of OSes and use cases.
5326  Economy / Reputation / Re: Same address question on: July 21, 2018, 06:11:55 AM
will he or she and me get tagged by trusted member because connected account and abusing bounty or we need more proof or evidence?
I just asking because i want to open my service in here and of course address probably posted in public and i dont want some random people using my address in their bounty report and bring red paint to my profile for abusing bounty
If you're offering a "service" and not simply participating in campaigns, I don't see how you could run into trouble. For starters, you're not likely to end up in the same campaign as anyone dumb enough to use your address... and secondly, why would anyone use your address in the first place??!? Huh That means they would do all the work and you'd get paid! Tongue

Note that having multiple accounts is not forbidden... it's just that most campaigns do not allow a person to enroll multiple accounts in the same campaign.
5327  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Lost coins in Trezor! on: July 21, 2018, 05:44:34 AM
When you say you "can't access them via trezor"... what exactly do you mean? Huh

You can't see things when you goto https://wallet.trezor.io/ or something else? If you mean you don't see your wallets when using wallet.trezor.io, what exactly is occurring? You can successfully connect to your device and see some coins/transactions, but you can't see all your coins/transactions?

You mention that you can't see all your "wallets"... did you mean "accounts"? If so, have you tried clicking "+ Add Account" in the menu on the left?
5328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Any Trusted BTC Wallet? on: July 21, 2018, 05:25:53 AM
I think it's actually easier to recommend wallets people should NOT trust... So, basically... ANY wallet that does not give you access to the private keys!

If you do not control the private keys, you do not control the bitcoins.

5330  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unable to upgrade Electrum 3.2.2 from 3.1.3 on Ubuntu 14.0.4 / VirtualBox on: July 20, 2018, 11:33:05 PM
Now, in what's quoted above, there appears to be some errors, in orange and in red — should these be corrected? If so, how?
Again, I believe that part of this is because you have the older version of python (3.4) installed.

I highly recommend upgrading to 3.5 or higher.

The orange part (sudo error) can be solved by doing what it suggested... Use "sudo -H" instead of just "sudo":
Code:
sudo -H pip3 install typing
5331  Other / Meta / Re: Is it really worth to post a thread on Scam Accusations ? on: July 20, 2018, 02:07:28 PM
In my opinion, even if you save only one person from investing in a particular scam, then it's worth it.
5332  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: I can't find my Bitcoins on my HD account or my private key- Bither on: July 20, 2018, 02:00:17 PM
No, he isn't... he is saying "use a dedicated software wallet run on your local PC (Electrum), and use your seed mnemonic from Bither to restore the wallet."

That is VASTLY different to "copy/paste your seed mnemonic into a website, then copy/paste your derived private key(s) from there into a web wallet" Roll Eyes
5333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Retrieve private key from seed and pubblic address on: July 20, 2018, 01:33:16 PM
It's also quite possible that you're just looking at the wrong "wallet"... Electrum allows you to have multiple wallet files.

Use: "File -> Open" from the Electrum menus... it will open up your "wallets" folder and you'll be able to see if you have multiple wallets. If you do, try opening each one and see if you can find your address and/or coins.
5334  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: I can't find my Bitcoins on my HD account or my private key- Bither on: July 20, 2018, 01:27:37 PM
can i ask why? did you even try this method. create a fresh new wallet without funds so you can see it works.
i also did it this way and it worked fine.
It isn't so much that the method doesn't work... it just isn't the "safe" way to do what the OP is trying to do.

- Pasting your seed into a website is just a "bad idea"™
- Importing keys into a web wallet like b.com (not quite as catchy as b.info) aka blockchain.com isn't a great idea either.

You're potentially exposing your seed and/or private keys and this could lead to loss of coins and aside from webwallets just being a bad idea in general, blockchain.com is known for being buggy and a fairly terrible web wallet.

I agree with Abdussamad, the OP is better off attempting to import the seed into Electrum... making sure that they:

1. Get a legit copy from: http://electrum.org/#download
2. Set "Options -> BIP39 seed" when importing
5335  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum: What does bad-txns-vin-empty mean? on: July 20, 2018, 12:54:47 PM
Seems like either the server you were connected to was non-SegWit compatible (possibly an old version of Bitcoin Core or ElectrumX etc)... or it was out of sync.

Either way, good to see you managed to get it working.
5336  Economy / Reputation / Re: Negative trust removal guidelines for those advertising fake/scam ICO's on: July 20, 2018, 11:29:37 AM
What do I do if I created a marketing post to promote Telegram user add and then deleted after receiving a negative trust?
The best you can hope for, if you have actually learned your lesson, is to simply continue using the forum. Participate in discussions, make a meaningful contribution. Then, try to contact Lauda after maybe 6-12 months to demonstrate that you have learned from your mistakes and are actively contributing to the forum in a positive manner. They *might* then reconsider the trust rating, but considering the vast majority of your activity currently seems to be shilling "promoting" Glitzkoin, that looks like it could be a hard sell.

The guy who gave me a negative trust has more than 50 negative feedback for his reputation but I have to suffer.
If you're talking about all the "untrusted" negative feedbacks that Lauda has received from the many many scammers, spammers and idiots that Lauda has tagged over the years... they don't really mean anything. They're just lashing out and trying to post a retaliatory negative feedback because they're angry they got caught...

I see only two negative feedbacks in Lauda's "trusted" feedback... and 16 positives (note: I run on the "default trust" settings).
5337  Economy / Reputation / Re: What happens to trust system if DT member account got hacked?? on: July 20, 2018, 11:11:38 AM
This thing confused me.  Don't know which one of you is true.  Huh Huh
Most likely just a difference of opinion on what constitutes "spam"...

I'm not a DT member like Vod, so I'm sure I don't get anywhere near the levels of unsolicited PMs that he does, which means that for me, if someone sends more than one when attempting to engage in a discussion on forum related business, then I'd be inclined to call it spam... or if it is obviously "spam" like trying to sell me something or promote a website or service etc. For Vod, perhaps his threshold is ANY unsolicited PM == spam?

I still stand by my comment that the reason for your negative trust is quite clearly explained in the comment... it was "Begging for merit in unsolicited PM".
5338  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum: Can you recover new change addresses from seed? on: July 20, 2018, 09:01:05 AM
you can generate new change addresses via wallet.create_new_address(True). put in a loop to make many change addresses.
No. This does not work.

Yes. It does:

Quote
>> wallet.create_new_address()
'bc1q7d0yqv39nmerhzxreakzhd8d28wn350kgv244e'
>> wallet.create_new_address(True)
'bc1q0x0d36v4wuz7yq629qwwu683qpxzxuk8chdv89'
>>
Which results in this:

You can see that the wallet.create_new_address(True) command created the 'bc1q0x0d...' address which is shown as a "change" address.

As Abdussamad said, if you want to generate multiples... use a loop like this:
Code: (Create 100 new change addresses)
for i in range(0, 100): print wallet.create_new_address(True)

Code: (Create 100 new "receive" addresses)
for i in range(0, 100): print wallet.create_new_address(False)

NOTE: the "True" and "False" are Case-sensitive...
5339  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Where did my bitcoin go! on: July 20, 2018, 08:52:09 AM
Are you running Windows or Linux?

I know for Windows (especially Windows 10), you need to ensure that "incoming connections" to your Bitcoin Core are ON for Armory to work properly... either set it in the GUI settings (Settings -> Options -> Network) or use the "listen=1" setting on commandline or in bitcoin.conf

You also need to use the "server=1" setting, for Armory to be able to talk to your Bitcoin Core properly.
5340  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: JAXX WARNING! All of the ETC's stolen! on: July 20, 2018, 08:48:12 AM
During my investigation I discovered that everything actually started nowhere other than on the Ubisoft server which is under severe Ddos attack these days. I remember that a few days before my coins were stolen, I received a message from Ubisoft account in which I was informed that I have been successfuly logged on (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), but I haven't used that account for years, actually I have completely forgotten to have it opened. So the e-mail address was enough for the spiral to escalate. So, From the e-mail address they found on Ubisoft account, shitty thiefs were able to crack both Cryptopia and Hitbitc! (I have moved everything from there long time ago), then a simple ETC address on which some of coins were transfered was enough for miserable non existent JAXX security to be cracked. So, no more ubisoft, cryptopia, hitbtc and jaxx for me....I hope this experience might help others.
Honestly, this sounds like the OP has used the same login/password details on multiple sites... and those details have ended up in some of the massive password dumps that have been released (ie. the ones that "have I been pwned?" scans)

Using different passwords on each site... and 2FA (which I know Cryptopia offers) would negate a lot of these issues.

As for how the ETC disappeared... either the OP has a compromised machine and the well known Jaxx vulnerability has been exploited after his wallet files were transferred off the machine, or they did something to compromise the security of their wallet (uploaded a copy to online storage or saved a copy of their seed online etc).

Given the long list of sites that their accounts have been compromised on, I'd guess they stored a wallet backup or unencrypted copy of their seed on something like dropbox or email etc... and that account was also compromised.
