It would be easier to assess if you put approximate $ value against each. But that is a lot of coins to keep track of!
A percentage would be better.

Probably not so smart to disclose your positions. Don't want to attract hackers...

Of course, yes, you're right. I wasn't thinking. It is easy to forget sometimes and let your guard down.
Although if there is only $10 spread across all those coins, it is probably okay to put $ amount Wink

If the mobile miner is usable, it could become very popular though. Getting 10 bucks a month mining might not be a huge deal to a lot of people, but has immense potential in the third world (lots of people with low income have smartphones).

This is a very good point. Unfortunately a lot of cryptocoins have problems with the rich getting richer (whales). Coins like this give an opportunity to reduce world inequality, which would certainly be a great thing.
5343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think ??? on: September 28, 2017, 07:49:08 AM
We need an easy way to buy alts with fiat. If it can be achieved, this would be a great way to decouple alts from btc, which is a big problem as we can see good news with an alt, but it is swamped by btc price moves and so the alt fails to rise in price.
5344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie (me) trying to invest in a project on: September 27, 2017, 03:08:14 PM
how will they know that it was me who sended the contribution

A lot of ICOs run on Ethereum, so if it's an ETH compatible token and you contributed in ETH, they will likely send the new token to the address you sent from.
The crucial point here is don't send from an exchange (Bittrex, Coinbase etc). You need to send from your own wallet. So for Eth probably MyEtherWallet, or something like the mobile imtoken app.

If you're completely brand new though, I'd stay away from ICOs. Prices tend to plummet when they first hit the exchanges and people go for a quick profit.
5345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long did you wait before do you sell your ICO Coins ? on: September 27, 2017, 02:57:58 PM
My personal perspective is I would only buy into an ICO if I believed in the project.

If you don't believe in the project or don't know enough about it, then it is pure gambling, and in this case if for some reason I bought at an ICO I didn't believe in then I would sell immediately.
5346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $100 in every altcoin under $1 from top40 on: September 27, 2017, 10:01:15 AM
Imagine you have $4000 to invest. What are your thoughts about investing just a little amount (~$100) in every altcoin in top40 which price is still under $1? Wouldn’t that bring some profit after few months? I am sure at least few of them would get pumped x-times above $1. Also not all of them would drop to $0.

Any thoughts? Could that work?

No, I don't think that's a good idea. You'd get some good stuff, but also some rubbish (I'm looking at you, Bitcoin Cash!).
Also I don't see how the under $1 part matters. Under $1 usually just means a lot of coins in circulating supply. It's more meaningful to look at market cap.

5348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So low market cap is better for investment? on: September 27, 2017, 07:43:18 AM
One thing that needs to be remembered is that marketcap is based on current circulating supply. You also need to be aware of maximum supply to understand how this can impact price of the coin.
5349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens with huge airdrops? on: September 27, 2017, 07:26:39 AM
There is always a dump with airdrops, but that is the price that new coin developers are willing to pay for the publicity. So something like Deep Onion they have had huge publicity, but it's a trade off. Obviously you don't want all of your coins to be dumped and nobody buying. So long as a coin has committed devs and a good roadmap and white paper, there should not be too much trouble.
5350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here is the list of altcoin you should watch out for on: September 26, 2017, 03:20:14 PM
Everyone definitely has their own list, but that is quite a long one OP!
Personally I couldn't keep track of developments with that many, and I like to be as informed as I can be about those coins that I hold.
5351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 5 crypto currencies to invest in 2018 on: September 26, 2017, 08:18:41 AM
Hello everyone, my first post here, hopefully I can realize my dreams with help of the community.

I'm planning to do an initial investment of $500 in crypto currencies. $100 for 5 separate crypto currencies. I'm thinking of XRP, Adcoin, maybe Ethereum and 2 more. Any advice related to the choice of coin?

My goal is to find at least one Unicorn which will generate me maybe $30k in the next years. Which coins would you invest most likely in to achieve this goal?

If your goal is to turn $100 into $30,000 then I think there is no point investing in higher market cap coins because the room for growth is not there. Just imagine what it would take for Ethereum to grow 300 times bigger than it is now. The market cap would then be insane. So I think you could either make your goal smaller or put in more money, or if you want to stick to that goal then go for some obscure coins that are more of a gamble.
5352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My actual list of under radar coins - what u think ? on: September 26, 2017, 08:08:17 AM
Take a look at DeepOnion as well. It is a new coin, so it's still cheap and it has a lot of potential as it has very big and growing supportive community and very active devs. On top of it, is has TOR integrated and more anonymity features are coming soon, so it's not just yet another copy-paste random altcoin.

Right now it's traded only at NovaExchange, but with such a big community I'm sure many more exchanges will list it very soon.

I also think Deep Onion is good, but unfortunately my account is too new, so I will never be able to take part unless they change the rules. It's a great coin for the old-timers though Smiley
5353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherum Hardfork on: September 26, 2017, 07:42:06 AM
I don't think the chain will split, and we won't see a new version of ETH. But I'm not sure if the market might dip again as the fork gets closer. I don't think it's a risk myself, but the market can have a bit of an over reaction sometimes!
5354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: right time to buy alts on: September 26, 2017, 07:30:31 AM
i see price dropping for most of top alts, is it right time to buy? or wait ?

The question is will alts fall in the short term. I think some ETH alts might because of the coming fork. Also I think there is still the bitcoin issue in November, so that might cause the whole market to fall again.
5355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BAT or Ripple on: September 26, 2017, 07:14:42 AM
Hi friends,

can you please suggest which one may be good for long term investment  Ripple or BAT?

Thanks  Grin

BAT and Ripple are completely different things, they're not competitors. But I wouldn't choose either of them. I'd probably go with something like NEO or even just bitcoin.
5356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Review Weekly on: September 25, 2017, 08:55:19 AM
Nice idea and a site I will use quite often I think. There are a lot of ICOs out there and it's nice to have a central place like this, so thank you.
5357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is Tether? on: September 25, 2017, 08:44:00 AM
It is a risk like everything. But when the whole market is falling, do you risk using tether? I would say yes, but it's personal opinion. And it also depends on the amounts you're putting in. I wouldn't put all of my cryptocoin holdings into tether, but I would put some in.
5358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why dent token keep on falling?? on: September 25, 2017, 08:28:36 AM
It is very early on in the project and so we cannot expect a rise yet until they start to deliver. The price always drops after ICO as people immediately dump for profit - these people have no interest in the project, it is just a form of trading. Also those who got tokens in bounty campaigns may also dump. I would just hold and have patience, keep up with the project developments and ignore current price.

But when are they going to start to deliver when there is no updates on their platform from the team,  we all not that this tokens derived most of their prices from speculation and now seeing the price below the ICO price is hurting

It's not about being the early phase of the project. It's all about the speculation. The alt coins dropped durin the last month and dent was also affected negatively. This is the story behind it.

Yes, the whole market drop has an effect, but I do think part of it is the usual pattern after an ICO when loads of people dump the coin. It happens a lot, most coins seem to experience it. And then the coin recovers once a) the whole markets moves up and b)there is some good news about the project from the team.
5359  Other / Meta / Re: how does my post count as activity on: September 25, 2017, 08:17:17 AM
But if you joined 3x [two weeks] ago and have activity 42 but you have posted 100 times... then all that you need to do in the next two week block is post once more, and then your activity will increase to 56. It's all explained in the link I shared, and that is where I learned about activity.

I think the calculation is well thought out, and it prevents someone just joining and posting 1000 times in a day and instantly becoming legendary even though they're new.
5360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest in ICOs without working products. on: September 25, 2017, 07:54:55 AM
If you want to invest in ICOs, look for something with a working product like KICKICO. What are some other ICOs with working products?

Whilst it is great when a project does already have a working product, the reason a lot of ICOs are start-ups is because they need to generate money for the project. So I think if you restricted yourself to those that already have a product, you'll miss out on a lot of opportunities.

Nothing against Kickico though, just a general comment.
