I hate open-ended questions! Went almost entirely multiple-choice and left boxes empty.

They'll impeach obama before any real solution happens and that'll be impossible with all the democrats in office atm

That would require Obama to actually do something illegal. And Bush Jr. has set such a high bar with that, that I doubt any president will ever be successfully impeached.

Agreed.. Not liking his policies does not qualify for impeachment

A government's refusal to prosecute itself for its own crimes does not mean what it's doing is not illegal. It just means the wolves are laughing at the sheep begging them to eat their fellow wolves.

The "above the law" status quo of government means that there's absolutely nothing evil its officials can't get away with, including murdering babies in the Rose Garden in front of the entire worlds' press corps.

If I knew anything about leather and metal smithing, I'd forge a brand that I heat up to a certain temperature, then press it into a centered wallet. People could send in their own wallets, I brand, send them back.

Pretty sure they don't mean Bitcoin. Even if they were looking at cryptocurrency - unlikely - they'd roll an alt rather than use a currency with 10% of the supply potentially controlled by its unknown creator. Bitcoin as world reserve currency would make Satoshi a world power overnight.

I'm betting he/they are Chinese, educated abroad. It would be a masterful false flag, because of the Chinese/Japanese tension, while China gov has been hinting at a new world reserve currency but not actually saying BTC yet, to reveal they have so much of the initial BTC.
5370  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the US Govt buy bitcoin and mothball it ? on: October 15, 2013, 07:27:21 PM

Somebody mentioned this before on bitcointalk.
1) They just push prices to $1000 making everyone rich and we all just go on to LTC and wait for it to happen again.

2) No one in the government will agree to wasting billions of dollars to destroy a cryptocoin that isn't harming anyone.

It's because it's not harming innocents that the totalitarians want it destroyed.

No rule against mailing currency.
Just very very stupid to do.
Yeah, since insurance doesn't cover money, I don't think.

Up to $25k for insured Registered Mail, as long as you have sufficient evidence of value determined by your local postmaster at time of mailing.

But back to OP, I think these are free because they shoot through the letter scanning machines, and it's trivial to have a barcode scan on them. With packages, they have to be repositioned due to their irregularity.

Well, if you buy a lot of BTC from people for cash in the mail (or vice versa, with tamper-evident paper wallets), I guess these could come in handy... I guess I don't have a good imagination for what else legal that could go in a FC envelope.
5375  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you watch the walking dead? on: October 15, 2013, 06:20:41 AM
Just premiered last night.

I was watching both Walking and Talking the last 2 seasons, so 90 mins to 45 is a good savings.

I like the new showrunner Scott Gimple.
5376  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you watch the walking dead? on: October 15, 2013, 05:15:42 AM
I watch too many shows. I decided to quit after the good ending to last season. I'll keep watching Talking Dead just to keep up.

Usage of these (Label 400): http://about.usps.com/postal-bulletin/2013/pb22357/html/updt_002.htm

I'd have to double check with USPS but I think if it's anything except First Class letter, you have to add extra postage to cover the tracking fee for using stamps or a postage meter, rather than buying postage online (where the non-signature tracking fee is usually free, but so is the tracking # and barcode generated on the spot and appended to the postage/address label).
5378  Other / Politics & Society / Re: WaPo: NSA collects millions of e-mail address books globally (500 000 per day) on: October 15, 2013, 03:27:12 AM
I always thought those "import your address book" functions were creepy.
5379  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: How can I import a bitcoin paper wallet with an iPhone? on: October 15, 2013, 03:08:43 AM
Yes it does. Go to the down arrow tab, scroll to the bottom of your addresses, press the Scan Private Key button, and up pops the camera window. Aim it at a private key, and it'll be imported. Just tried it myself and the address showed up in my list.

ETA: Maybe I have an old version of the app, not jailbroken.

It's Gmail or no joy, pretty much.
