5381  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Sending and Receiving Address and Anonymity Question on: May 14, 2022, 09:02:29 AM
So when i install the ltc app, is it okay if i just call it ltc account for now?
Call it whatever you want as long as you know what you will be using it for.

Could i change the name of that account later on?
Yes.

Then i would receive small amount of ltc from gambling site, and then send that 5 dollars to the mystery person?
Yes, that's how I explained it in the previous post.

So let say later on i buy say 500 ltc.  Then i create a brand new second ltc account and call it long term ltc bag.  But when you generate a receiving address for that amount, you would then choose that account right?
Yes, you generate an address in the new account that will be used for your long-term storage.

So later on if you want to buy more ltc for long term storage, you would still be generating a new address each time right and not reuse addresses?  But it would be for the second ltc account?
Yes, you can just generate a new receiving address in your "long-term storage" account or even create a 3rd account that will be your "second long-term storage LTC account" if you want to be absolutely certain that you won't connect addresses A and B in the "first long-term storage" account. If you bought 5000 LTC one time and 5000 LTC a second time, those two parties don't have to know that you own both inputs.

But say i want say another 50 dollars worth of ltc and want to withdraw that from gambling site to the small ltc payments account.  Would still go to receive and click on that account right and then it would generate a new ltc address... even though its going to that same small ltc payments account?
Yes, just generate a new receiving address in the account you created for those small LTC deposits.

So when you are going to send 5 dollars to that person, you need to use coin control to do it right?  But can't you just go to send and choose ltc and then click on that small ltc payment account and then the ltc you send would be coming out from there?
If you have only funded that account with one $50 LTC deposit, it's obvious that's all you have. You can't select a second input if it's not there. If you want to send something, the funds for the new transaction have to come from that previous $50 deposit. Coin control helps you when you have multiple inputs of $5, $10, $15, $25, $50 worth of LTC, for example. With coin control, you decide which of those inputs you want to spend.
5382  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: API for acquiring and converting to BTC? on: May 14, 2022, 08:42:59 AM
Ok so what I want to do is every month schedule the sending of 500 euros worth of BTC from my current account to my private wallet (Im using Ledger). How could I achieve this?
The thing is, it's dangerous to give automated "helpers" like bots and APIs the permissions to access and work with your money. Can you trust it to not have any bugs or intentional vulnerabilities that would allow its creators to edit the receiving addresses and amounts being bought/sent? Probably not.

Also, with Cashapp, do you need to then manually move it to a private wallet?
I have never used the app, so I don't know. My assumption is that the coins will be deposited in an address that's part of your app. But maybe you can enter a custom address, which in your case would be one that's part of your Ledger. Someone who knows more about Cash.app could give you a better answer.

Additionally, most 'legit' / not-yet-hacked exchanges have frozen some users' balances, closed their accounts, restricted access or blocked trading of some currency pairs, leaving users waiting for months to be able to get to their money.
Don't forget the often-occurring wallet maintenance issues. You mentioned a good example with Dogecoin. Wallets can be in "maintenance mode" for weeks and months before you can access your coins again. Interestingly, it occurs when there are huge pumps or significant drops in value. Once the issue is fixed, it's too late to take advantage of the situation in case you wanted to buy something cheaper or sell it at a high.

So can I assume that for experienced Bitcoiners, Bisq and other peer-to-peer exchanges are their way of acquiring BTC? Not Binance, Coinbase etc?
Not necessarily the experienced ones, but certainly those concerned about their privacy. Often, it goes hand in hand, and those who have been around for a while are also concerned about remaining anonymous. That's something you can't do on CEXs where you are often asked to verify your identity and answer questions about your business activities or origins of your money. Saying, that's none of your business doesn't work. Hence, we have completely decentralized P2P exchanges where no questions are asked.
5383  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal: Adding grey underline in every links on: May 14, 2022, 08:20:24 AM
If yes, that means one can be wearing signature of a company and still be promoting his personal signature through hiding links.
Maybe. But don't forget that signature space is limited. Chances are that most of that character space is already lost because of the sig you are wearing, so you won't be able to do much with what remains. One way around it is if a Hero/Legendary would wear a sig for a Member/Full Member, which leaves him with enough room to include other things in his signature space.

Good campaign managers surely check if there are additional lines and entries in the signature that shouldn't be there. It's against the rules to have that.
Here is just one example:

7. Adding additional lines into your signatures is not allowed.

5384  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: wintomato.com - SCAM (confiscated withdrawal, awful support) on: May 14, 2022, 08:09:05 AM
Thanks for your reply, I personally missed this typic, because we are engaged in site performance upgrade staff and when I spotted the issue was too late...
I informed you about the existence of this scam accusation against your casino on 7 February. You were on the forum that day because I saw you online.

@wintomato
I can see that you were online just a few minutes ago. Can you address the claims made by the user above me who opened a scam accusation against your site? The link is in his post.
You rejected his first withdrawal claiming he abused the site, but then you approved the second withdrawal. If abuse and misuse happened, why would you allow a player who broke the rules to withdraw the coins? And finally, after the third withdrawal attempt, you confiscated hi balance because of faucet abuse.

If he did abuse the system, can you show proof that support those claims, and explain to the community what Pandora Faucet Farming is and what the user did?

A week later, I posted in your ANN thread again mentioning the scam accusation and asking if you can share your side of the story:
A second call to wintomato to take a look at the scam accusation thread that WaitrounDent created and share your side of the story (if there is one). Being silent makes you look bad. If WaitrounDent is a faucet abuser or you have reasons to believe he has broken certain terms, tell the community what he did wrong and what rules he didn't respect. At the moment, you are the ones who scammed the mentioned user for a petty $20.

but the user who reported us never came back here...
He doesn't have to. He most probably just registered to inform the community and make the scam accusation thread. He isn't the first one to do something like that and he won't be the last one.

he was part of bot farmer group and his account was banned the amount has never been confiscated and he could withdraw most winnings ...
If that's true, you have to prove it. Just saying it doesn't make it true. Post some proof to convince the community he is a faucet abuser. I think that's the only way to remove your negative trust rating.
5385  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 5Dimes blocked me after asking if TerraLuna is a good investment on: May 14, 2022, 07:54:04 AM
A support staff banning your from the casino's chat is not a scam. Your feelings and opinions that Max might be an Indian who is a scammer waiting for you to deposit money so he can confiscate them is also not a scam. The only thing that happened here is that you got banned from accessing the chat by someone who has the power to do so. Maybe he didn't have to do it, but you also didn't have to go off-topic and talk about Luna or Terra.

5Dimes did not scam you, case closed.
5386  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Alert: There is New Scam Attempt Targeting MetaMask Pc Users on: May 14, 2022, 07:25:47 AM
I have used Etherscan yesterday and the day before yesterday because I was checking some transactions, but I didn't notice any requests to connect or log in to MetaMask. I am using Ad Guard and uBlock Origin though and they might be blocking the malicious ads. I highly recommend to have at least uBlock Origin installed in your browsers as it does the job it's supposed to do.
5387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 💚 BCH.games | The luckiest crypto casino on: May 14, 2022, 07:14:46 AM
Do you allow users to use VPN? I was planning to play in your website as you have a good set of games and I like the fact that you are advertising that you are no BS gambling site which I think is true since you are true on  what you are promoting such as fast and no fee withdrawal.
...as long as you don't reside on the following countries stated on their terms and condition, I think you can use VPN or access the site without any problems.
There is a second thing that players should pay attention to and that's the restrictions that individual game providers have. Those restrictions can be completely different from the lists of banned territories by the casinos.

Let me explain what I am talking about.
Imagine that you live in Switzerland. You want to play on a casino, so you check their TOS and find out that they have no problems with Switzerland-based players. Therefore, you are allowed to register and start playing. However, if you select a game developed by game provider X, that game provider might have introduced bans for Swiss-based nationals. So even if the casino doesn't have an issue with you being from Switzerland, the game developer might.

Some casinos mention these additional restrictions set forth by game providers in their TOS, but probably not all of them.
5388  Other / Meta / Re: Post funny/clever usernames here on: May 14, 2022, 07:05:00 AM
I still hope it's supposed to be Dice Lover. I may be wrong though Cheesy
I like my proposal better. Grin

You are not wrong. It was meant to be Dice Lover.
Damn. It would have been much funnier if it was dicklover, but at least we know now how you came up with the username. We also know that I should have my eyes checked for everyone's sake.
5389  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What Do Centralized Exchanges Consider as Taint? on: May 14, 2022, 06:58:13 AM
Some people tricking centralized exchanges by don't directly send your coins from casino, but they send it to their own wallet first, so:

Casino --> Wallet --> Exchange

If the exchanges hired poor analysis companies, I think this can be solution since they're only look from the address come from, not search more deeply.
I guess it's about how you do it and how much time has passed between those transactions. Let's assume you wanted to transfer $500 worth of Bitcoin from a casino to a CEX and you want to hide the origin of the coins by sending them to one of your wallets first, there are different ways to do it.

Withdraw more than you intend to deposit to your own private wallet days/weeks before sending to the CEX. If the two transactions (from the casino to your wallet and from your wallet to the CEX) confirm in a short period of time one after the other (one block between them for example) it might be obvious that it's the same person initiating them. So it's better to wait. It also doesn't look good if the CEX can see that $500 left a casino, landed in some 3rd-party wallet, and then the same amount minus the fees was immediately transferred to the CEX.

Anyway I think "conceal" origin is really complicated since any coins that we get isn't 100% free from high illicit sources. Let's say someone is trading via P2P in this forum and all went smooth, but when you send your coins to Gemini. Gemini froze your funds and accuse your funds come from gambling, the thing is you're not a gambler and realized the guy you traded is using gambling sources. I don't know how far Gemini will track your coins to see you're conceal the origin since I believe most of coins already linked with high illicit sources.
I think in that particular case, you would have to prove to the support that you are not the one who gambled with those coins, you just purchased them from an alleged gambler. You might be required to show proof where and how you purchased them for them to unfreeze your account or allow you to withdraw the "problematic" funds.
5390  Other / Meta / Re: Post funny/clever usernames here on: May 13, 2022, 09:31:13 AM
I remember that someone found an alt account of a forum member a few weeks ago that had a username like dicklover, dicklov3r, or something like that. I tried to find it but BPIP wasn't being helpful on this one. Then I remembered the name "naim", looked it up, checked the trust ratings, and voila - Dic3L0v3r.
5391  Other / Archival / Re: Gambling Campaigns on: May 13, 2022, 09:12:14 AM
Look at it in this way:
You need money to finance a signature campaigns. Who is more likely to be willing to pay hundreds and thousands of dollars weekly? A business like a casino that generates a lot of profit every hour of the day, or a developer who has just created a new free service that doesn't earn him any income and he has to spend his own money to pay promoters? We all know the answer.

Even ChipMixer and BestChange earn money. CM through donations and the users who use their services and BestChange through fees.
5392  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal: Adding grey underline in every links on: May 13, 2022, 08:06:05 AM
Using this to spread phishing or malware links isn't really the best way to do it. Think about it. If you wanted to share something malicious, your goal is to have as many people click on that link as possible. You can't click on something you don't even know is there and if you don't even see it unless you come across it by mistake like when quoting a post the way you did.

But the possibility to take advantage of it is definitely there and if theymos can quickly fix that, I hope he does.

Also, would it be possible to have a notification before opening links, sort of "are you sure you want to b redirected to..."
This would prevent inadvertently clicking on links, especially when you're on mobile.
+1
Only for external links though. There is no need for that if the link redirects you to a different forum post.
5393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 13, 2022, 07:25:53 AM
Inter was the better team in the Coppa Italia finals but what a shameful penalty they were awarded in the 80th minute. I wonder if they would have scored the equalizer had it not been for that ridiculousness of Lautaro and the awful refereeing team.

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=556360412514575
Martinez stuck his leg in between Bonucci's, fell to the ground, and got the penalty. That's what took the game to extra time.
5394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PH banned online cockfighting - Worst gambling-related cases recorded! on: May 13, 2022, 07:18:08 AM
What a ridiculous way to gamble and entertain yourself. I have never heard of such nonsense as regulated and legal cockfighting in Europe. I am sure there are some countries that are involved in such crap. If you support these kinds of "sports" and like them, just step into the ring yourself and fight to the death with another man who made that same decision. That makes more sense because you both agreed to it and are doing it of your own free will. When you put two pitbulls or roosters in a small ring, you decided their faith, not them.

It should be banned and the scum organizing and making money on it should be imprisoned.
5395  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Sending and Receiving Address and Anonymity Question on: May 13, 2022, 07:06:56 AM
Well the reason why i was considering using electrum ltc or trustwallet is because it will have max 50 dollars on it.  Probably would have no more than 20 dollars total only.  So i want that ltc wallet to be strictly for these small 5 dollar payments that i have to do.  So because of that, kind of don't want to install ltc app on nano ledger because lf i say i have say only 5 dollars worth of ltc in my nano ledger, now let say i want to buy say 50 ltc from coinbase or whatnot in the future.  Then when i send that amount of ltc to nano ledger... it would be sent to a different ltc address on my nano ledger.  So would have say ltc address a with 5 dollars worth.  And ltc address b would have say 5000 dollars worth.

How do i make sure that ltc address a never ever get mixed with address b?
We already covered this. Can you please pay attention to what is being written? Create a new Litecoin account on your Nano S. Call it "Monthly $5 payments to Mister X" or whatever you want to call it. Generate a new receiving address in that account and top it up with the LTC you intend to send to that mystery person you keep mentioning. That's it. Don't use that account and all of the other addresses in it for any other purposes! It only serves to send that monthly $5 payment and nothing else.

If you decide to purchase 5000 LTC in the future, and you don't want there to be a connection between those coins and the ones in your "Monthly $5 payments to Mister X" account, create a brand-new (second) Litecoin account on your Nano S. Call it "My long-term LTC bag". Deposit your 5000 LTC in one of its addresses and you are done.

Whatever you do in the future with either of the two accounts, they won't be connected unless you deposit or request a deposit to be made in the wrong one.
5396  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What Do Centralized Exchanges Consider as Taint? on: May 13, 2022, 06:48:27 AM
Don't get me wrong, if they give full explanation of tainted coins that can lead a further investigation on client's account, they like giving away a trick how to abuse their exchange. That's why most of them didn't response to you and some only give short answer.
None of the support personnel were willing to give away hints in my case. Support agents are used to responding to the same questions over and over again. They don't really know what is going on in the background or how to handle complicated matters. Ask them about some specifics about their Privacy Policy or TOS, and they wont know how to handle it. There are other departments within the company that handle the real stuff, but they reveal their methods only to government agencies and law enforcement, not to regular folks who come knocking.
5397  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: API for acquiring and converting to BTC? on: May 12, 2022, 06:35:51 PM
Cash app has a feature called Auto Invest that does something similar as what you are asking. You can schedule when the app will purchase Bitcoin for you and in which amount. This can be done daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or just a one-time purchase. There is a $10 minimum judging by their FAQ.
5398  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 🔥Seedkeeper🔥 Hardware device to safely store your seed on: May 12, 2022, 05:59:22 PM
One potential problem I see with Seedkeeper is that it can only work with Seedkeeper Tool
That's a good point. One might ask what would happen if the Seedkeeper tool or Satoship as a company isn't around in a few years? How do I get access to my seeds Tibu?

and only protection is short PIN code that could be hacked in theory.
You can use up to 16 characters, so it's not that short. And there is really no protection of the words if your seed phrase is written down on paper or engraved in steel or wood either. You can use a passphrase though with your standard paper wallet or the seed you store in your Seedkeeper.
5399  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Firmware Upgrades for Hardware wallets their weakness? on: May 12, 2022, 05:41:46 PM
if however you have open source and a verifiable build, that provably comes from the supplied codebase, it reduces such risk.
Good choice of words. I am glad you used that construction because that's exactly the way it is. Someone else might have said that if you use open-source software with verifiable builds, there is no risk or you are absolutely safe due to the publicly available code.

The more popular the wallet is, the more user it has, and the more security experts verify every single piece of code, the lower is the possibility that the developers would get away with trying to introduce a backdoor or other type of vulnerability. Or if they just overlooked something by mistake which could have negative consequences. On the other hand, if the wallet is unpopular, it might take weeks or even months before someone discovered that something is off with the most recent update.
5400  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Square is considering making a hardware wallet for Bitcoin on: May 12, 2022, 01:12:16 PM
I'm sorry that it wasn't clear; of course I know this, it was a rhetorical question.
We obviously didn't understand each other. I know that you are aware of the dangers of using custodians for your crypto, so I was just stating a fact and wanted to mention a new recommendation by the SEC, which I think is good. Since there are still many of those who believe using exchanges as private wallets is a good idea, articles like the one above show why they aren't.
