5381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libra's Fee is Your Privacy on: June 22, 2019, 11:47:44 AM
I am not really that big on privacy depending on how much privacy we are talking about. If you mean getting my name and my id and my photo and all that than it could be risky, I have given literally all my KYC information to exchanges to be able to withdraw my money anyway whereas these facebook stuff will take "what is his hobby" type of data from me, they can get instagram type of photos as well which I do not use but still they can do it but the most important one is your national ID, as long as that is still a secret you are fine and I am pretty happy with giving away my name and photos, those are useless stuff.

However, the sad thing is we are not getting anything in return, you have to pay for libra, so if you use libra you are spending a fee that is your privacy without getting anything in return.
5382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libra the new crypto king on: June 22, 2019, 10:02:37 AM
It is not even out yet and people are already shilling for it. I don't understand how a new stablecoin backed by the biggest privacy breacher in the world will be capable of becoming the king. There is literally no one that believes this aside from people who have missed their chances with bitcoin and want to get rich with Libra but now that its a stablecoin and it will not make you crazy rich because it is literally one to one ratio and will not make you any profit at all.

However, it could be the "king of stablecoins" which is still a big deal for it since its not even out yet and we are discussing it but that is not because Libra is awesome but more because our current stablecoins sucks and have no good backing by big companies so Libra with facebook could take that spot.
5383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best platform in the crypto industry? ERC20 or Other? on: June 22, 2019, 08:38:33 AM
It is all about the utility if you ask me. ERC20 has the metamask and mew and what not all looking like they have been around for a long time whereas others do not have that. So, if you join an ICO and get your coins back on your metamask that will be just chrome extension and will be right under your hand very easily and will be capable of using it whenever you want and however you want knowing full on well it is a good wallet.

However, there is a new contender which is binance chain, it allows your coins to be stored on binance itself lately and that means its a good competitor, its not as good as metamask and now as easy to use but it is a good competition which we all need, good competition makes these companies work to be better and that helps us all.
5384  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin actually protecting fiat money? on: June 22, 2019, 06:08:57 AM
I think unintentional is the right term for it, I mean we still can't prove it with data, its not something we can just calculate and put it on a database and show people like "this is how bitcoin protects fiat money" so these are all assumptions and not a provable point.

Moreover, even if we could have provide proof for it and showed people that bitcoin protected fiat, it still wouldn't be direct and would most probably be more like indirect ways of protecting it without actually working towards it. You can't just blame bitcoin for what people do with it, people use dollars or euros to do bad things as well and dollar is not blamed for that person doing something bad with it, bitcoin should not be blamed for protecting fiat because it is not trying to do that but people may use it for that.
5385  Economy / Economics / Re: Are there any communists in this forum? Is it compatible with crypto? on: June 22, 2019, 04:50:25 AM
I don't think its non-discriminate, it all depends on how you use. However, if you look at the first idea of satoshi and why he created it and even look at the code itself and see the rules that is mostly a leftist idea. It is in fact leftist not because its against any conservative idea or anything or even not against capitalism since its a currency itself and revolves around financial markets and all however it was created against banks and the idea of banks scamming people legally.

It is a bit of right idea and not left because bankers are usually defended by the right leaning political parties and usually disliked by the left leaning parties. However, the coin itself and many other coins do not have a specific agenda against the political parties, its just parties having their own agenda against the coin.
5386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you gamble? on: June 21, 2019, 05:21:42 PM
Honestly, everyone has their own reasons but the most common one comes down to just one thing ; being bored. If people are bored there is no limit to what they can do.

Playing on a casino is the most stupid thing anyone can do yet we all do it anyway, there is a place literally saying we will be taking your money and we are doing it legally with our house edge and telling you upfront that we have more advantage to win than you and will take your money mathematically speaking and people still play there, we are all willing to accept the fact that mathematically speaking the odds are against us and we will be losing money yet we still do it.

All that is because we are bored and we want to do something that is fun and gambling even if you lose is super fun.
5387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: June 21, 2019, 04:47:02 PM
I couldn't even keep track of who went there last night, %60+ of all picks have been traded last night, I knew that this draft was more like couple players and rest are trash but I didn't know what could be the reason why everyone traded it for something better in the future, I can understand the teams that didn't want to draft now and get a pick later but I do not understand teams that took those picks.

The only good trade last night was Atlanta and new Orleans where pelicans sent Solomon hill which had a 12+ million contract and gave number 4 pick for it which created a great gap for them in the small forward spot. From a team with just Jrue and AD they turned it into a team with Jrue-Lonzo-Ingram-Randle-hart- and now Zion. They have an amazing future ahead, I hope they will be capable of getting Dangelo Russel and show Lakers what they have missed with that team.
5388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have experience betting in a spider fight? on: June 20, 2019, 04:39:36 PM
it is more fun to watch spider match, I guess OP is my Kababayan. My grandfather in the Philippines used to have an arena of spider fight. We also have a room exclusively for his spiders, alone. I still remember the days where spider fight is the mainstream betting we had in our town. Since my grandfather has an arena, he always hosts the fight. Even our municipal officials were active in betting with the spider fight.

But now, since my grandfather is dead, and spider fight became illegal as it is a form of unregistered gambling operation, the gambling fight remained as a game of the kids on the streets, not in the arena with big bets anymore.
I must say that your story is the most interesting one I’ve read on BF today and I am truly impressed. It has changed my perception of spider bets and giving me a better understanding of the game.

From what I have learnt, this is more of a fun game than money and I can only imagine the good times players had at that time. It’s quite unfortunate that it has been illegalized like you said nut thank God for better online games and I am sure you wouldn’t miss that so much. I hope to watch a video clips of this spider bet and see exactly how it’s been played since I have never been privileged to watch it but I have heard that its an interesting game.
5389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO is not for crypto startups on: June 20, 2019, 03:51:47 PM
IEOs are a useful way for startups to raise capital for their venture and the requirements for major launch pads generally ensures they provide a quality product with a unique innovation and real world applications and professional marketing, and new platforms like Tokinex don't require any hosting fees for these endeavors which will likely produce better results for this crowdfunding model
Any projects that can be courageous enough to list on IEO platform are really not start u projects. Do you know how much these exchanges demand to list them on their platform? That fee alone is more than enough to start up a mini project in a mini village and feed the whole community for years.

Most start up projects usually start with zero fund which is why you see them go on ICO that requires no commitment, this is the reason why I do respect any project that has not conducted ICO before and could boldly register on IEO, it means that they mean business and it is certain that they will have a good package to deliver to their investors.
5390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any promising STO that you know of? on: June 20, 2019, 03:19:44 PM
STOs have only just begun to arrive and are not fully developed yet as a crowd funding model because regulation is still being clarified in many regions for these types of offerings, however, any startup that has registered with the SEC and is using a compliant exchange to host its crowdsale and provides a detailed prospectus should be worth evaluating
I really don’t see STO seeing the light of the day for now, STO may be quite new which I agree, but they have still been around for some months now which virtually existing investor knows about them, but there has been little attention paid to them.

Look at when IEO first came out, it really dint take IEO more than a week to get all the hype and support needed from every angle, but STO cam virtually the same time IEO came too but still look at their development stage, very slow and I am sure it is because it indirectly involved government and the offer is quite too low for any investor to make money through it.
5391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Libra the Ethereum + Ripple + EOS + TRON + .... killer? on: June 20, 2019, 02:49:59 PM
I think Libra could be a killer though, people think it can't be but it can very well be a big time killer. However, it would not be killer of ethereum + ripple + eos + tron, it would be killer of usdt + usdc + gusd because Libra is a stable coin and we do need a stable coin that is backed by a big company.

Look at what these are backed by, usdt is backed by bitfinex and another company they partnered with which has its banking operations in a shady Caribbean bank and do not even have 100% backing, usdc is backed by circle which owns poloniex which is backed by big bank but that is too much "backed by" to be worthy, gusd is backed by the winklevoss twins and their company if I am not wrong and they are decent people but not as big as facebook (winklevoss and mark now both gonna have stable coin Cheesy lol). So, Libra could be better than all of them.
5392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Libra the Ethereum + Ripple + EOS + TRON + .... killer? on: June 20, 2019, 02:13:33 PM
Facebook decided to make a test and create their own crypto currency to see what the fuss is about crypto going on as an experiment and all of a sudden whole crypto world is focused on libra. There are hundreds of coins printing out everyday and we have over two thousand crypto currencies listed on coinmarketcap and you are focused on libra?

Why would it kill any of the coins you listed, there is no competition between libra and all those coins. Libra will be libra and create its own path and own market instead of getting into our market and take money out of it to itself, that is why I think ethereum, ripple, eos and tron is fine because the investors on those things and the teams behind those coins are still going to be there even after years go by with libra creating its own market and support somewhere else.
5393  Economy / Economics / Re: Does it helpful when blockchain integrated to government system? on: June 20, 2019, 11:01:05 AM
It is definitely a good way using it in government and there is a bad way of using it. For example, if Russia decides to interrupt a countries economy and want to ruin it they will be capable of buying crypto with Russian fiat money (no idea what its called) and get bitcoin with it from the people of Russia who wants to sell theirs and make them bitcoin rich or Russian fiat money rich, whereas they can cash out in some other country they want to ruin while taking their national money from them and bring it back to Russia and sell it for Russian money making that countries money weaker against Russian money.

So, as you can see blockchain at the hands of a bad person or a government can still be bad, it all depends on how you want to use it and why you want to use it.
5394  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a Medium of Exchange on: June 20, 2019, 09:48:26 AM
I think the good part about bitcoin is that the ways to use it never cease to stop. I mean you can use it to pay for stuff, you can use it to earn as a salary, you can use it to gamble, you can use it to exchange with other coins, you can use it to buy and sell to make more fiat, you can use it to purchase gaming stuff or even play games.

These are the stuff that comes to my mind right now, there must be hundreds more but I do not want to look up and write them all here, basically speaking you are getting a ton of return for just having bitcoin and using it however you want, you want to use it as medium of exchange? you sure can, you want to use it to just buy and put on a paper wallet and store it for 50 years so your child can have a good college education? You sure can. Choose your own path.
5395  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Initial Offerings Overpriced? on: June 20, 2019, 08:24:05 AM
I think it depends on how long a company has been operational. The ICO's are VERY overpriced because we are talking about something that is on idea stage and some of them are even just technical without any execution, tell me how many coins we have seen so far that basically told you an idea, got funded and then created a coin with the technological background and that was it, nothing more was done, maybe developers developed the coin a bit more but that is it, you couldn't even use it anywhere. That is why ICO's are of course a lot more overpriced than the lyfts and ubers of this world because those things actually got funding from people on their series a-b-c-d or whatever levels and then they went fully operational to a Goliath in a business which afterwards they had an IPO, they were already big when the IPO happened.
5396  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why was this recent downturn not surprising? on: June 20, 2019, 07:21:01 AM
What recent downturn? I do not understand, bitcoin literally went from 3.2k to 9.1k+ right now and you are talking about bitcoin recent downturn. If you mean from 20k to 3k then you might be right but even that is now just a 50% drop and if you were smart enough to buy while going down you must have a lot less dollar cost average than just 20k, you can have bought under 4k and that would have dropped your average down a lot or you could have bought anywhere under 9k and your averages would have been lower.

All you have to do right now is take a look at the limits of bitcoin and where it can reach to understand that there is no reason to consider any drop as downturn since it would recover in no time if you use your money wisely to drop the averages down to a lower number.
5397  Economy / Speculation / Re: Which way will it go? Which trend will it follow? on: June 20, 2019, 06:33:12 AM
I think the best case right now is keep going. Look at the price, from 7800 dollars to 9100 dollars it went up small by small and not all in one move which tells you more than the price. If the price moved from 7800 to 9100 all in one day or at most 2 days that would have mean that there was a pump and you could be scared about another dump that would have made someone rich but most people poorer.

However, right now we are seeing the price go up small by small which means there are people who are still willing to pay these prices for bitcoin whereas not as many people willing to sell to these prices, that is why the price will keep continue to go up until the amount of bitcoin people willing to buy equals to amount of bitcoin people are willing to sell for the same price. That doesn't seem to be happening any time soon.
5398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers needs to control their emotion! on: June 19, 2019, 05:30:18 PM
The reason they became gamblers or addicted to gambling is the same. They cannot control their emotions and they will fall prey of that intrinsic desire to play more and make more. Making more for the house in turn, obviously.

But they fail to realize that with more bets being placed the more chances of them losing. I have rarely seen gamblers who have cashed out and never played again. All of them come back with that money at one time and play again to lose it. That is why the casinos are a flourishing business in these sectors.
I don’t mean to approach this in a derogatory manner, but truth be told, greedy gamblers do not only lose money enriching casino sites, they also lose their self-respect and happiness and perhaps some even lose their loved ones and it is absurd how it fails to occur to them that the game does not mean well for them.

I think the dynamics of our focus now should be on how there can be an end to gambling entirely because over 80% of gamblers are without self-control and what this implies is that as long as gambling remains, we would continue to breed losers  in the gambling sectors and they would be a threat to their various communities and the world at large.
5399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship on: June 19, 2019, 04:04:36 PM
Normally, in these U21 type of games you get to see how there are shifts in change for big countries and small countries. For example some third world country that normally doesn't even have a big chance of world cup could beat some big name team like for example Germany or France and what not whereas when it comes to national teams the difference becomes very big.

I think that only happens because any person under 21 that is not playing on a big team will be capable of playing on these U21 teams and could be potentially same talent level wise whereas training wise none are on a big team.

However, on national teams there are players that is u21 but not playing on u21 because they play on teams like real Madrid or Barcelona and what not which they gather more talent and training as well which makes them better. So playing field is quite leveled in these u21 games and the lower odd teams have big chances to win these games.
5400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to delisted Alt Coins on bittrex, Binance and Poloniex? on: June 19, 2019, 03:24:52 PM
I keep seeing  that exchanges are delisting a lot of ALT Coins, are those projects basically dead? I really like loopring (LRC) but I don't know how well it will do while its banned in the US. Do you guys have any input on this Alt coin ban/delisting? What will you guys do with your coins that are on the chopping list?
Well, if the coin is delisted on ALL exchanges than it is most likely that the coin is basically as good as dead.

However, if you are delisted on just those three that is fine since there are tens of exchanges out there who deal with the small coins that the big exchanges do not care about. Places like idax for example make their profits from keeping the small coins on their roster and making sure they have as many small coins that binance/bittrex/poloniex doesn't list. Those trading fees even if they are 50 bucks a day combined make above a thousand dollars per day for them when they list all small coins and that makes sure they are still profiting and having a good business.

There are many coins that is no longer listed anywhere though, so they are totally dead and will not even return because once you are delisted from every where there is little chance you can come back.
