There's some news coverage of this thread: http://newsbtc.com/2015/02/08/bitcoin-gambling-website-scam-nearly-exposed/An anonymous Bitcoin user recently exposed a bitcoin gambling website scam after finding empirical evidence against their bet verification system.
According to a BitcoinTalk newbie ‘keepinquiet’, the scam lies in the methods through which cryptocurrency-based gambling website 999dice.com verifies users’ server hash. Unlike other, rather genuine gambling portals, the aforesaid organization makes users click a button in order to verify each bet. Without clicking that button, users have no option to legitimize their bets. At 999dice, you literally have to click the ‘Show Server Seed Hash’ button to see new hash with every bet.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/nealegodfrey/2015/02/08/millennials-beware-of-the-bitcoin-bite/With the recent guilty verdict of Ross Ulbricht, creator of the “Black Market” website Silk Road, Bitcoin has once again made the news. So, what is Bitcoin, you ask? As a Baby Boomer, I come from an age when the dollar was pegged to a specific value in gold, unlike the fiat currency we have today. Obviously, this gives me and my Baby Boomer peers an interesting vantage point when vetting the strengths and weaknesses of Bitcoin. ...

But you should know that referrals won't be shown on your ref list until they wager. From the website: Below are list of players that are referred by you and their wagered amount. This list is not refreshed in real time and players with zero wager will not be shown.

Says its a decenralized exchange. A tl;dr of its features? How does it compare to, say, BitShares? It's a P2P software therefore decentralised. If you're interested in its features just read the whitepaper: https://bitsquare.io/bitsquare.pdfI don't use BitShares, so can't compare these 2.

You should check bitsquare project: https://bitsquare.io/It solves all the problems you've mentioned. They're trying to raise funds through crowdfunding: https://bitsquare.io/crowdfunding/As for now, the project raised 39% of the 120 BTC goal, campaign ends tomorrow, but hopefully they'll extend it and try to get more attention (I wasn't even aware of that until yesterday).

Can't quite understand why is the IBM promoting bitcoin? Are they just using bitcoin to promote they're own services? Or is it just pure marketing and the only goal is to get some attention?
Anyway, nice to see action like this.
IBM had some pretty kick ass Linux commercials a decade ago. They do tons of consulting work with whatever technology the customer wants. This has been the case since WWII. As Elwar mentioned, might have something to do with their Proof of Concept for Blockchain-Powered Internet of Things http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/cryptocurrency-round-ibm-samsung-develop-blockchain-technology-facebook-tipping-1484019IBM has teamed up with Samsung to develop a system that uses blockchain technology to build a decentralised Internet of Things.
The ADEPT system, currently still only a proof of concept, uses the BitTorrent, Ethereum and Telehash protocols to serve as a ledger for billions of existing devices.
"Applying the blockchain concept to the world of (Internet of Things) offers fascinating possibilities," states a draft paper outlining the ADEPT system.
"Right from the time a product completes final assembly, it can be registered by the manufacturer into a universal blockchain representing its beginning of life. Once sold, a dealer or end customer can register it to a regional blockchain." Another link: http://www.coindesk.com/ibm-reveals-proof-concept-blockchain-powered-internet-things/

That's a tough one. http://rebittance.org/ doesn't cover those 3 countries yet (the closest is Mexico). There's this old thread about Colombian bitcoin exchange, not sure whether they still operate, the site is up though: https://bitmarket.co/esYou can always try to do it through localbitcoins, but will probably be quite expensive.

I don't use Blockchain.info myself, but isn't the 2nd image showing tx fee paid by mining farm (probably for tx to multiple addresses)?
@OP, since apparently Blockchain.info didn't steal anything from you, it would be fair to change the 'Subject' of this thread.

Saw this today and think it sums up something I've thought for a long time that most bitcoiners didn't seem to get. Traditional cash is more privacy oriented then bitcoin because a record of the transaction isn't publicly broadcast to be recorded for all eternity. Think it's pretty relevant in light of the Ross Ulbricht. Bitcoin is NOT anonymous. And if one mistake is made in the future it can reveal all of your past. Bitcoin is not anonymous, it's pseudonymous. But with the right precautions you can remain fairly anonymous using BTC, while paying cash requires physical presence, so not necessarily much anonymity here. Also last time I checked. Toilet paper has performed a hell of a lot better over the last several months than bitcoin. Scott Toilet Paper: I ain't no expert, but it looks like a good time to buy

Bitcoin will not take over (meaning it will replace fiat currency). At best, it will grow to the solid alternative payment system (or commodity, if you prefer).

600 outlets (with an option to expand to 1200), that's pretty impressive. What is the face value of Bitcoinbon vouchers? Bitcoinbon is available as a voucher for 25, 50 and 100 EUR. https://coinfinity.co/bitcoinbon-en/So basically you're not buying bitcoins directly, you're buying voucher you can redeem for BTC at bitcoinbon.at. That's actually a good idea and could drive more sales than standard BTC ATM.

Yes I did miss Wired. You are right. I mostly went to the big news sites looking at their technology and money sections. I went to fewer dedicated tech sites.
What sites were you checking? I noticed BBC (UK) always mentions Bitcoin when some big news happen, usually in 'Technology' section

Has any bitcoin based patent been GRANTED by any patent authority ?
Lol..I dont think they have been granted..its just waste of money trying to get them patented..pretty hard to do..n mostly be rejected. How so? He's not talking about patenting Bitcoin, but Bitcoin related inventions (could be anything really).
