Add one more, avoid simply red-tagging a member just because the others did.

If you're not directly involved, chances are that the recipient might reciprocate.
If a user creates a flag, and you go through the evidences put forward by the creator of the flag, you can freely support it, there is nothing wrong with that, and also for fair play, there is also an option to oppose the flag.

Also regarding red tagging a user because other have done so, is not bad imo, as long as its obvious the user is guilty of the offences, you do not have to be directly involved, in very few cases would you even be involved, as for retaliation, as long as the user is not on dt or on your trust list, I don't think it'll make a difference.
5382  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Possible red tag offences on: December 24, 2019, 09:50:18 AM
It would also be a benefit to quote theymos's intent about how tags and flags should be used. This would help back up your explanations on why people may be tagged.
Thanks for raising this point, and I've added that to the op, to make things more comprehensive and for complete digest of the system.
The last point though I disagree with. People shouldn't be negged for merit begging.
I know it's harsh, and maybe not necessary to tag someone for this offence, but I think I've come across this few times when a user gets tagged for this, that's why I added it to the OP. Also if it's an offence that needs to be tagged or not, it's one that newbies should avoid, so maybe it could just be some sort of deterrent.
5383  Other / Beginners & Help / Possible red tag offences on: December 24, 2019, 08:16:41 AM
There are some very obvious reasons why users get red tagged or flagged, and with the update by theymos on the trust system, we now understand that a user can only be flagged for being a proven scammer, and not for some other offences. But for the newbies who probably aren't aware of some of offences that can get them red tagged on the forum, I'll love to bring some of them to their notice.

1)Do not default on loans/do not request for no collateral loan unless the loaner says so/do not request for loans when you have no means to pay back: Many users have had their accounts tagged due to the fact that they defaulted on their loan agreement, if you know you have no means to payback a loan, do not request for one, also as a newbie you can simply get red tagged for just asking for a no collateral loan(no one will give a newbie that)
2)Avoid renting out your account/borrowing your account to friends: We have seen issues like this in the past when users after being caught with plagiarised posts on their account claim they were not the ones handling the account at the moment those posts were made. The user you give your account to, can do shady things that will get your account tagged, you account is your private property.
3)Do not advertise or market a website you aren't sure of its legitimacy: Some users brings some shady website to the notice of others, and a few times they are not even aware that those websites are shady sites, this leaves dt members with no choice than to tag those accounts. We had an issue sometime of a newbie posting websites where one can recover lost btc by paying a particular amount of money, that user was tagged for promoting a scam website.
4)Avoid account buying and selling: Going through many ratings left by dt members, I think this one tops the list: "Account buyers and sellers are not to be trusted", many users here started from the bottom to get where they are today, buying an account is fraud and will get you red tagged, the original owner could even have plagiarised posts, could later come back claiming the account was hacked, or you could even pay and not get the account in the end.
5)Spamming pm's begging for merits/adverting a product: If you want to earn merits, make good posts, it will definitely be seen by sources and other members, and even if you must pm a merit source, let it be to review your post history, do not beg them for merits. Also the services board is there for users to advertise, if a user hasn't requested for a discussion on a product in their pm, do not send one, it can get you into trouble.

Now, what is your next goal? If you do not have a goal you will remain at that level for a long time.
He's right. Everyone should take that as a challenge.
Congratulations hero member, and it's very good that you only bump this topic to celebrate a new achievement, it will be a bit messy to create new topics for them differently, I commend you for that effort in doing the right thing.

I guess your next goal is to get to legendary rank and that's how it should be, for me my next goal is to make it to snr member. I think this goals should be taken one step at at time, gradually moving from one rank to another, and in the end achieving it finally, though I know some members are more intelligent than others, so they may get to their goals faster, but everyone in the end should make sure they are doing their best for themselves and also for the forum.
Congratulations Bttzed03.

Pairing Higuan and Ronaldo upfront doesn't seem to be working for Juventus but still Sarri persists and in the end it will end in tears and he will be sacked.
It's very possible that sarri could be sacked after just one season as juve's boss, his tactics right now isn't just working, and even though they are level on points with inter at the top of the table, they are not playing convincingly as they normally do in the past. Ronaldo seems to be all in the mix of things, I know he is one of the greatest players in footballs history, but most times in games this season, he usually has little or no impact, and the coach finds it difficult to remove him for a different player, his reaction the last time he was substituted caused some issues in the dressing room, Ronaldo must admit to the fact that he is no longer at the level he was 4, 5 seasons back, and learn to support the team even when he is not on the field.

Sarri may not win the champions league, but winning the Italian league again could maybe provide some consolation, but with inter this strong, they could lose both, and that may be the end for Sarri as juve's head coach.

Bcash and bcash sv are both complete trash because anyone with even a child's dawning intelligence can see that.
You just need to listen to Craig and Roger to know they are just full of so much shit.
5387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: December 23, 2019, 10:24:46 AM
In the last 5 matches Sassuolo didn't manage to win against Napoli so this is pretty much a no-brainer for me.
I think you made a mistake, you should have posted this in the Italian league prediction thread, Napoli won 2.1 though.
Real Madrid has lost 2 valuable points and this is why they are not in the race anymore
Real are just two points behind first place Barcelona, that surely doesn't take them out of the title race, the gap is so small and easy to close up. This is just the first half of the season remember, there is still over 19 more games to play, there will still be many more points dropped from both teams chasing the title, it'll come down to who will drop less points.

Theymos, yes theymos, maybe he's not too quick in implementing new suggestions, but when i look at how he runs the forum, i just have that feeling if it was run by someone else, we could be somewhere down hell(a place our dear forum doesn't deserve to be in).

Great initiative from you @cryptopreneurbrainboss, it's good you still see something good in the altcoin section, and also willing to appreciate those who make good posts in that board(though very few do).
5390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too many projects is bad on: December 23, 2019, 06:02:14 AM
As far as this forum is concerned, Imo I would have suggested that the admin can also ensure that scam project are not allowed to advertise here
Forum admin wouldn't allow any project they know as a scam to advertise, but AFAIK no scam project would announce they are scammers before they start to run their project, so the forum leaves the decision to invest or have any business with any project in the hands of members of the community, that's the reason why you hear that "scams are unmoderated by the forum".
Not all projects are bad
Neither was I saying they all are bad, my thread was in a bid to seek ways to only see the few good ones, I know it's a difficult task to do and also I've read everyone's reply till now, it now seems more impossible, but for me when I pick altcoins to invest in, I only choose the reputable ones in the market(as I suggested in the OP).
5391  Other / Meta / Re: Can Merit Sources for Specific Sub-Forum use sMerit outside of that Sub-Forum? on: December 22, 2019, 08:13:22 PM
As a merit source for a specific board, you can surely merit posts you find good outside of that board. But most times they spend more of their Smerits in the board assigned them.
For example if X gets filled with 40 smerits per month, and X is a merit source for the bitcoin discussion board, X may spend up to 30+ merits on the bitcoin discussion board.
5392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Too many projects is bad on: December 22, 2019, 05:10:47 PM
The thread is self moderated, though I would not be removing posts except if they are really terrible, it has nothing to do with whether you agree or disagree with me.

The other day, I read a post which the poster said:(i am not explicitly quoting the OP though)that if the altcoin market manages one good project out of the many that it produces daily, then it's a success for the altcoin market(i am not against his opinion, but I disagree)
Searching for good altcoin projects is now similar to looking for a needle in a haystack, you either get tired or exhausted and quit looking, or you find it after a terribly long, long time, this is synonymous to what altcoin investors will have to go through/and are going through, and it can only stop when the good projects are the only ones investors are attracted to.

But since the market is decentralized, and you cannot really prevent anyone from creating shitcoins, what can then be done to promote only the good projects, imo investors should avoid new projects for a while, they either are coming out with the same plan as the previous ones and will only fail just as their "predecessors" did, and focus more on the projects that are already in the market, picking out the few that are good and investing/promoting them. If new scam projects are not getting any substantial investors, I believe the good ones that are in circulation in the market already would improve and more good projects could sprout up from them.

Other valuable suggestions are welcomed, let's have a quality discussion.

(keeping some details reserved I presume)...
Surely, you can never be sure who you are talking to in any environment you find yourself in, never believe they know little about cryptocurrency and blow yourself up by talking about things that should be kept secret(private keys, password etc).
If in case I can't open forum some days then I feel that I had lost something and I am missing something that were very important.
We share the same feeling, like for example during my exam period, I do not use the forum as much as I do on ordinary days, and also on the days I have a long essay or research project to complete in school, I can't wait to catch up on what I miss when I actually make out time to get back to the forum, it's slowly becoming a part of me.
5394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: December 22, 2019, 02:44:46 PM
Today we have a match for Watford and i hope they can win against the struggling Manchester United to find wins while traveling this season..
If there is any team struggling the most in the league this season, it is Watford, they are rocked in 20th position, and if things continue this way, they are heading straight into the championship. This is a game united should win, but from what we have come to notice about Manchester United this season, is that they somehow just fail to win the game you feel they should win.
on a realistic note i am expecting a draw because the last 6 Watford home games ended in a draw.
At the moment it's a draw, 0-0 as half time approaches, if it ends this way, my bet on this one would just be perfect, I predicted it to be a first half draw.

Once you love posting on this forum, you must succeed here, it's a working philosophy, is it even possible to succeed in an area you do not love, just because you want to earn?.
It's not about earning here. Earning is just a by product and one should not consider it as the main source.
That was a rhetorical question though, and for me it's disappointing that someone would consider it as such, more disappointing is the fact that when they do so, they then do not earn, it's all to their bad though.
5396  Other / Beginners & Help / I enjoy posting on bitcointalk on: December 22, 2019, 01:31:51 PM
Exactly just as the subject says, it's now fast becoming a hobby posting on this forum for me, well obviously you cannot post continually on this forum and not grow your knowledge on its related areas, except of course if you're a shitposter(i wouldn't want to get into that), so I'm not just posting, I'm learning. I quit facebook few years back, as well as some other social media sites, Bitcointalk in one way or the other has helped me not to miss them even at the slightest bit, rather than scrolling over pictures, risking my privacy, I'll post in here, read voraciously, comment when I feel I should and lest I forget, I also replaced the "like" button with "+merit" when I have some Smerits to give.

As a student in the university, i feel proud discussing with my peers about bitcoin, and being the one the most knowledge about it, and also telling them about bitcointalk when they inquire to know the source of my knowledge, you automatically just get the feeling you're doing good for yourself.

I'm loving lukaku more and more,  what a sportsmanship he is for giving Esposito the penalty,   I'm glad he left Man Utd to revive his career,  I'm pretty sure if he was still in Man Utd he wouldn't have been doing so well as he is currently doing now,
He is so strong, I wouldn't want to be up against him anyday if I was a defender. Two brilliant goals from him yesterday as he extends his tally in the seria A top scorers list. A player needs to play in a team that values him and with a manger that sees good in him, inter and conte are doing both for Lukaku, but in United he had his confidence reduced to zero, I am also happy he left.

Inter are making juve sweat as they realize conte's men are surely in the title race till the end and aren't ready to stop pushing anytime soon, whichever team wins the title deserved to do so.
5398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: December 21, 2019, 08:48:46 PM
Manchester City vs. Leicester is definitely the match to watch...
It didn't actually turn out that way, at least for the neutrals and the Leicester City fans, the match was one sided all through out the 90 minutes, with Leicester only managing to score from a quick counter attack and that was that till the end of the game.

But on city's part it was an excellent performance against a team that have been exceptional this season. They completely controlled the game and made Leicester look like a team in the bottom half of the table. Kevin debruyne also once again showed he probably deserves more praise than he is getting, he was fantastic today, it may be a little too late to chase down Liverpool sadly though.
5399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop shielding Scam, fake, or unproductive altcoins project on: December 21, 2019, 05:00:29 PM
so even if we have 1000 shit projects coming up every week, if even 1% ends up being useful projects over time, that's still amazing to me, and a big win for our industry.
Our industry imo doesn't need this, the altcoin "industry" doesn't need to have to have a low success rate of new projects and still believe it's fine that at least one or two came out successful, with that mindset, in the long run the altcoin market may disappear. When investors have to struggle with over 2000 projects to get one good one, they may have to try for a very long time before they get lucky, that's if they don't run out of patience.

The big win for our industry will be if this money hungry project owners will stop creating shit projects, as they are making it very difficult for the would-be successful ones to breathe and also for investors to find them.

It is now official, Arteta has just return to Arsenal as their new manager. We all saw it coming with all the speculations in the past week now, i am happy that Arteta has taken another huge step in his coaching career, one that looks destined to be successfully crowned with trophies and great achievements.

City may feel bad that they lost Arteta to Arsenal, I'm sure they had plans for him, he probably would have been in line to replace Guardiola when he leaves, but who knows when that will be and there was no way Arteta was going to reject such delicious offer from his former club, his first game is the lunch time kick off tomorrow against Everton, I hope he gets off to a winning start.
