5381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: cryptocurrency and forex trading.... on: December 21, 2019, 07:01:45 AM
The crypto markets have a negative return overall compared to the forex market,
For a certain period, yes. But not forever. Things change with the world. Maybe one day crypto will be a large percentage of total trading volume comparable to stocks and commodities.

Quote
in the margin trading the risks can be diversified according to the market movements but in crypto trading, the market moves fast.
I think you are mistaking a few things here. Margin trading is available to crypto as well including spot trading. So if you wish to do a leverage you can very well do it with bitmex, deribit. You dont necessarily need to wait for huge market movements just protect your position from getting liquidated.

Quote
The volatility kills the probability of cutting losses before it happens and it is really dangerous to trade the market swings without stop-loss which can not be executed due to the illiquid market conditions.
Well that happens with crypto, and we cant blame anybody for that other than users who are holding it. Forex is pretty liquid, provided it has been here for a longer period of time than crypto.
5382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Advice to bounty hunters that wants to quit on: December 21, 2019, 06:55:37 AM
So many people are complaining about how they end up with scam bounty projects but i keep seeing some who actually make good gains from bounties this very year, after few investigation i knew i missed many good bounties this year so i think adjustment is all we need
Because 99% of ICOs and IEOs failed to do anything substantial you are thus seeing a higher number of people claiming scam than some few who are not complaining. Those few who are not complaining may also been scammed but dont want to tell it yet.

Anyway adjustment is the wrong term here. Bounty hunters need to stop doing bounties because they are wasting their time now. The ICO craze is gone now and its just worthless tokens in your wallet.

No point in quitting bounties for now because new year is here and i am sure that new projects will show off definitely and hopefully next bitcoin halving will cause huge growth for altcoins
Would it not seem reasonable to learn something new and develop some skills during this time than waste it on bounties whose tokens might very well be worthless after getting listed?
5383  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we heading towards Recession? on: December 20, 2019, 07:03:35 AM
Are we heading towards recession like 2008 wherein people have cut down their spendings and companies are laying off their employees, we can see cost-cutting everywhere, is it really a recession or just the panic about an uncertain future which is creating a gloomy atmosphere everywhere?
Nope, most of it propaganda and taking data from the wrong sources and wrong target population. Cost cuts happen in many places but that does not imply that the entire country is doing bad. Recession has been brought up several times just to poke doubt into people's minds and make them sell their assets so the market becomes more liquid for the whales to buy and allow banks to take over.

Companies lay off employees for a reason. They will never lay off the top level cream because that would hurt the company's condition. The fact is that the ones who are laid off know very well why they got laid off but they always tend to brush it under the table and play victim. Bottom line is that one needs to work up the ladder and take care of their own self, making sure to earn and keep good relations with every employee to be in a company.
5384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with Fiat or Crypto? on: December 20, 2019, 06:57:30 AM
If he goes down means your income also dropped dramatically. How about that? what do you do if that happens ...? Are you betting again to increase your income. For example, you win 0.1 bitcoin ... then the price drops far. If you wait for the price to go back up, it means you will vacuum first to bet?
That much volatility can be ruled out in bets smaller than 10btc. You have to understand that the market though labelled as "very volatile" by many people, its not the correct term to use. There is less than 5% change in market price of bitcoin these last few months except this 1k USD crash and rise this week. So your dollar value of the bet is more or less same even if prices tank or rise.

But this is an inherent risk with the cryptocurrencies. You cannot avoid it. It does not mean that fiat has the advantage of being completely stable. Both has its pros and cons and fiat will not provide the anonymity that crypto provides.
5385  Economy / Economics / Re: Asset backed cryptocoins? on: December 20, 2019, 06:53:10 AM
Agreed, take gold for example, ETFs already provide high liquidity, everything will still be centralized because the gold needs to be stored somewhere, also gold doesn’t have a special use case for the crypto community, hence there really isn’t much use to issue such coin.
However the Xaurum team had come up with the idea of tokenisation of gold. But that gold needed to be stored somewhere too. It is safe no doubt unless a big robbery takes place.

In fact if you are looking to keep gold just buy it yourself. This is good for giving as gift and for inheritance. This is not the gold you should trade though. For that an ETF would be a better option to go for.

Whether we see more asset backed coins is speculation but it can be good for those who are not willing to directly buy the asset but hold some of it in the form of tokens. I dont think governments will nag into this unless they become suspicious, provided nobody is using them for illegal purpose. But we have seen some idiots try to do illegal stuff with crypto too and hence the crackdowns.
5386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: UNFAIR TREATMENT OF THE BOUNTY HUNTERS on: December 20, 2019, 06:48:54 AM
Once a campaign is concluded, in most cases, hunters are ignored.
I am one of those people who advice people againt bounties but your point is wrong here. The bounty manager is often at the mercy of the project owners too. So they cant reveal much info to the hunters being a middleman and having to watch both sides. But few people will actually understand this.

Quote
Questions on updates, relevant information on spreadsheet update and payment distribution are often ignored.
I doubt you have participated in any bounty as of now. I wont suggest you do though.
Quote
This less than respectful treatment of individuals that help in actively promoting a project in order to ensure its success are one of the many things hunters havr to endure.
It is what they signed up for. No use complaining after accepting the terms and conditions.

You all should be happy that this forum is so lenient about altcoin projects and allowing them to run. They could have stopped bounties long back but they have not.
5387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: bounty hunters and Exchanges. on: December 20, 2019, 06:45:06 AM
As a Bounty hunter the coins we have in our portfolio are listed on different-different exchanges so we have no choice to register with all exchanges where our coins get listed so we can not depend only on 3-4 exchanges & I also registered myself on many exchanges. My opinion about multiple exchanges is not a big issue for me as a hunter.
Not a big issue? If you are having several signups you need to keep several passwords - which itself is a risk if less tech-aware people are doing by using same password on many exchanges.

Speaking of which, you did see what happened with IDAX? They exit scammed and stole a huge number of assets and are selling them off. Whether they will get caught or not is not worth discussing but the point is that users lost their money - specially bounty hunters who create huge sell walls and leave them open for months.
5388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2 Dice Strategies that Might be Proven Helpful on: December 19, 2019, 05:13:27 PM
actually there is no strategy in the dice game, I have used many strategies the same result is always losing. I even used a bot before, it could only get 0.01 in a few hours, but after that, I lost again. games based on luck, in my opinion, the important point is don't play too long, get a profit at 50% in some bets maybe it's enough to make a daily profit.
Dice is an EV- game. If you are playing it you have to make sure not to stop at one point. Once you get a green streak dont let that rush make you continue betting. Stop at a profit and withdraw it. Of course the failure to do this is the reason why people lose too much. Again its not possible to reach any sort of profit by just stopping at a green streak or hitting a big multiplier.

There needs to be a balance between the two.

I think I should also post a flag that was made against me some time back and it has zero credibility from the reference.
However feel free to support or oppose it whichever you feel is right based on what has been linked.

Thank you for your comment fortunejack! Smiley
Nice of you to note that I am wearing their signature. Grin

Quote
So you mean that the Nexo and celsius can also be scammers, but so far, the way they seem is legit, right?
There is a difference between what is legit and what is a scam. A project may be both or none or either of the two.

Quote
My question is that what could be the "most significant factors" that people evaluate those services seem legit or scam?
There is no such yardstick.
Quote
For example, since harubank seem to provide the highest interest among other defi & crypto finance services, so I deposit a small amount of BTC to test the service (done KYC & withdraw) and worked really fine.

Quote
For me to gain trust is to try the service to see if they are keeping the promise. Of course, I wouldn't deposit a substantial amount until I have more than 80% trust, but my way is to experience the service.
The above two statements explain clearly how scammers attempt to gain confidence of newbies and gain trust. MLMs are built in a way that the new investor's money is used to pay the old investor. Gradually this cycle will stop and the site will exit scam. Its not possible to predict which one is scam but the signs are there.

Quote
So, I'm curious to know about how and why people are so sure and stigmatize that the new and not-well-known service is definitely a scam.
Read the post made by o_e_l_e_o, if you still believe it is not a scam then I cant help you clear your confusion.
5391  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What trading bots are you using to manage your portfolio? on: December 19, 2019, 06:26:34 AM
OP is actually promoting his own blog traffic by posting here.

If you ask me, I manage my portfolio myself and I dont trust some line of code to run my money. Moreover there are risks associated with closed source bots, but open source ones are safer.

Just for those who are reading this topic, know that a bot only automates your trade. It does not give automatic profit. If you do TA on your own and Fundamental analysis, you should place trades yourself and that too with a long term goal. Day trading is never recommended which is what these bots mainly aim at.
5392  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Fixed interest (up to 12%) on BTC, ETH, USDT while holding on: December 19, 2019, 06:22:26 AM
-snip-
Ahh calm down kiddo.

See you may be posting a project without knowing about it but I highly suspect that. But someone has to take the initiative and mark it to be a suspicious one and possible scam. Now these MLMs are confidence scams done by snowballing. The only way for people to stop them is to mark the people promoting them as scammers. You may not like it but you chose to promote it so the burden remains on you.

Now haru may very well be a scam. I wont talk about Nexo or celsius, because these lending platforms are often manipulating loans by creating them and making it seem like the platform is legit. What is actually done with the money is still not clear unless you have insider job.
5393  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any legit websites to earn bitcoin fast without a withdrawal fee? on: December 18, 2019, 11:57:13 AM
Tried pretty much everything and its all a scam.
Get a job.

Quote
Just in desperate need of some bitcoin...
Desperation is what makes people take wrong moves. Dont be that person.

Quote
tbh I'm not sure why I'm expecting a legit website that can magic bitcoin from thin air this is probably a stupid question. If anyone has any recommendations let me know thanks
You answered your own question.

Develop some skills and use them to provide some sort of service. Complete your education and get a day job. Keep crypto as a side earning and you might be able to straighten out things in life in a better way.
5394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Counted Or Estimate All Your Losses And.... on: December 18, 2019, 07:08:32 AM
In my opinion I don't think that a serious gambler will be able to count all the loses made,  speculations might just be the case about how much that has been spent,  as for me I can't count my loses,  although I know it's huge,  likewise I can't count my winnings because I've got a couple of wins,  only the Winning  with huge amount that I can easily recall
A "serious" gambler can mean both an addicted money-burner or a diligent gambler who takes care of the bankroll management and plays accordingly. What you describe is the first one.

Although its debatable the second group of gamblers also exist. They would be calm and composed to not waste more than 10% of their bankroll and stop when they lose it without trying to chase the loss. This might seem difficult and it essentially is because one has to master their emotions to be able to do this. Moreover one who can do so would not be a gambler anymore. Wink
5395  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto vs stock markets on: December 18, 2019, 07:03:46 AM
Wich way is more profit?
Crypto or stock market?
This question does not have a simple one word answer. It depends on what a person started with initially and how they learnt trading on that sector. One may be very profitable in stocks or crypto or both. Its not inherent that one market is more/less profitable. Here though, since majority of member comes for discussing about cryptocurrencies, it will be the answer of choice - which is obviously a biased answer because of the wrong selection of target population.

But I hope you have understand what I tried to mean.

Quote
What are other ways to get good profits besides crypto?
Crypto is not a means to make profit. Trading is, understood the subtle difference? Now there are other speculative markets to involve yourself in but before that make sure you have a proper job to give some stable income to survive. Then you can look into precious metals, commodities and the more risky ones like leverage trading.
5396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: 3000+ Cryptocurrency on Coinmarketcap on: December 18, 2019, 06:55:02 AM
What i also hate from CMC is they don't delete any token/coin which has been delisted from exchange and just keep showing their stats even though there is no any market. That's make the number of token/coin they have keep increasing
Coinmarketcap is an aggregator of coins and their statistics.

If they would start removing coins because they got delisted then there would no way for investors who bought those coins to keep track of them. A dead coin may get revived which is the dream of main failed investors.

Also removing coins is a radical steps which will bring in a lot of backlash on the site from the communities and this will lead to its downfall. After all sites like CMC and others depend on user views, donations and traffic to keep the site running. There are already some sites attempting to predate on its downfalls. Get my point?
5397  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC to GOLD on: December 18, 2019, 06:52:01 AM
The GOLD can be part of any portfolio.
It can be and it is in majority of the pre-minnenial era.

Quote
In fact, I have seen that it has been incorporated into some wallets such as NEXO and Uphold.
Thats interesting. Are they allowing users to take loans using gold as collateral?

Quote
At a time when the price of Bitcoin falls there are several reactions that lead to finding some way to protect money. Whether acquiring Stablecoins, Altcoins, investing in GOLD everything that allows diversifying the portfolio.
Too much diversification is again discouraged. We can classify these assets as crypto and non-crypto. The stablecoins come under crypto and thus increase the crypto part of the portfolio. I would not recommend that. Keeping the crypto portfolio to the only few coins that are worthy for long term should be the holders goal.

Quote
"The GOLD is money" I can definitely be sure that it is a great alternative to keep the secure money but as we well know Bitcoin falls and when it goes up. It seems we forgot when we lost because of the low price.
Gold is even more volatile. But do people care? No. Because of the long term value of gold and its acceptance anywhere in the world.
5398  Economy / Lending / Re: Giving Out Loans on: December 17, 2019, 12:37:11 PM
If you want to take a loan today contact me on telegram
Then why are you making a thread here to advertise? Make your own lending site and promote that on the internet.

Quote
A collateral is always needed
You are looking to scam people by stealing their collateral. Nobody trusts you like that unless you offer to use an escrow to hold the collateral. Comparing to banks they store collateral in vaults.

Anybody attempting to do business with the OP will be at risk of getting scammed of their collateral.
5399  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Recommend trading strategies sites on: December 17, 2019, 06:59:03 AM
I would not recommend Youtube here. Because youtube is filled with shills promoting their altcoins and pumping their shitcoins so they can sell. If you want to use Youtube to learn trading you are taking the wrong approach specifically to crypto. There are some methods to workaround this:

1. Make yourself immune to shilling and brainwashing attempts. Listen to them with a grain of salt and be objective when learning.
2. You can also go for stock market tutorials for learning fundamentals and technical analysis. That way you wont get exposed to altcoin shilling.
3. There are books available too but the practical approach of dummy trading is often helpful.
5400  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC to GOLD on: December 17, 2019, 06:21:13 AM
This is a terrible idea, with the bitcoin's price we have now converting it to fiat to buy some gold, I don't think so, same like you buy high and sell low, same stuff.
It would be better to buy gold with fiat at this price dont you think? Save up bitcoin, dont spend it now that the price is low. Its the time to buy bitcoin as well.

Quote
It would not be bad if you are going to do this when the market is in bull run, convert some of your bitcoin then buy some gold to have something that is stable and the price is not going to go down drastically like bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.
Hedging the bitcoin for gold? I would suggest that but not 100% conversion though. You would want to keep some bitcoin in hand and convert the rest to gold for future. Other precious metals are also good to look into if you have time.

Quote
The problem of having a gold is that it could be stolen easily if you are not good at hiding it in your house, you could put it in the bank but not a really good idea after all, for me.
You could get a vault at your bank. I know its one of the downsides of a physical asset being of value, but it is important to keep gold because it is the thing that you would give to your next generation for inheritance apart from fiat money and if it permits, bitcoin.
