I made some small progress... I am currently mining on a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.7.5.
But... only using Win XP running in a Parallels 7 environment.
There I installed the 3.0.2 bfgminer (32 bit version) and the CP210x drivers:

Next step for tomorrow: Copy the VM to the Mac Mini and try it with all 4 USB ASICs and the Ztex
Boards (running natively on OS X).

It had been a problem with the statistics inside of bfgminer. Only at long term statistics.

first of all I want to thank yxt for organizing this whose group buy.
He did a great job!


I did not turn the HUB - I love to see the green LEDs blinking  
The airflow with that ventilator you see here (even running on low speed) seems to be good enough.

So here you can see the current setup - I still did not get rid off the Win8 notebook.
The HUB is not perfect but at least it's working. Has only 2A power supply so I placed only 3
of the USB ASICs to it. I am getting >1825 Mh/s at 64W power.
The plan is to get the ASICs working on the Mac Mini as well. I will also get 2 more ASICs the
next week.

I keep geeting 330Mh/s with a little bit less than 1% HW errors.

Short performance update w/ bfgminer (16h):

After a little bit more than 16h running 5 of the USB ASICs, bfgminer reports less than about 290 Mh/s for each and so 1450 Mh/s in total.
But when I compare the hashing power to a well known setup/performance of 2 Ztex boards, the extrapolated performance is 1646Mh/s.

ich hätte ja Geld und Interesse, aber es gingen mir nachdem ich darüber geschlafen habe, dann doch folgende Sachen durch den Kopf:

Warum verkauft jemand seine Gelddruck-Maschinen?
  - Risiko Minimierung (Hardware Ausfall, BTC Preis, Difficulty)
  - kurzfristiger Geldbedarf (glaube ich eher nicht :p )
  - Aussicht auf ein besseres Invest in naher Zukunft (!)

Besonders der letztere Punkt scheint mir einleuchtend.
Es könnte also Sinn machen, jetzt nicht zu jeden Preis Hashing Leistung einzukaufen sondern abzuwarten,
was es neues an der Hardware Front gibt.

Was meint Ihr?

Hashrate (combined with 2x ZTEX 1.15x with 212 and 220Mh/s):

Short update from me - my packet did arrive at about 11am.

I did not get a single ASIC running using
- cgminer (Win
- bfgminder / cgminer (Mac OS X 10.8.3)
- bfgminer / cgminer (Ubuntu)

The only working setup I have right now is bfgminer running Win 8 (on a Fujitsi notebook).

This notebook has 3 USB ports. Running 3 ASICs works just fine :-)
When I try to connect one of them via an active powered USB hub (but no power supplied to the HUB)
it works. As soon as I provide power the the USB HUB with 2 ASICs connected to it Win 8 complains about
problems with the HUB (and of course bfgminer does not detect anything connected to the HUB).

I know, I should not run Win 8 
But it's one of multiple partitions on that notebook.

I will later try to find out more about the MAC and Ubuntu problems and will get another USB HUB.

Until now - bitminter reports 970 Mh/s for the triple setup.

I registered an account on your site and did not receive an email confirmation.
Of course I checked my email spam folder ;-)
I did work at an Internet service Provider in the past.
I know what I am doing.

I changed the email address to another one. Same problem.

I had to use a third email address with a very relaxed spam filter configuration to receive an email
from your site.

But - it would be very easy for you to fix this problem. Let me explain what happens:

Your system sends out email from a server with the IP address "71.6.131.81" and this server
identifies itself as "cari.aspadmin.net".

The problem is that there is no reverse-mapping (IP-Adresse -> hostname) for that IP address.

$ host 71.6.131.81
Host 81.131.6.71.in-addr.arpa. not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

You really should setup a reverse mapping (let your internet service provider do this)
that points 71.6.131.81 to cari.aspadmin.net.

Without this reverse mapping there is a very high chance that most email servers (where you try to send mails to)
will reject the incoming TCP connection before even listening to any SMTP traffic.
A wrong reverse mapping (for example server-xx.cari.aspadmin.net) will work for most email servers as well.
But it's better to setup the correct reverse mapping of course.

Please fell free to contact me if you have any questions about this.

Update:
You can not find anything about this problem in a SPAM folder.
The email servers reject the incoming TCP session without a reverse mapping.
The server does not even see the start of the SMTP session and so does not know which
email address is (should be) used.

How does your companies statement "We accept and are verified for Credit Cards" match with hiding your identity?
As soon as anyone pays with Credit Card, it should be a simple call at my credit card company to find out the identity of the "payment processor" and track you down.

Ich sehe ausserdem durchaus eine Sinn in einer alternativen digitalen Wärung, die pro Anteil weniger Wert ist.
Die Transaktionsgebühren bei BTC sind für kleine Beträge zu hoch. Das ist auch OK so. Evt. wird sich daher für Zahlungen
von kleinen Beträgen LTC durchsetzen.

Ausserdem sind neue Accounts (bzw. eigentlich neue/geänderte Kontoverbindungen) für 2 Wochen limitiert.
Man kann über dieses Konto gekaufte BTC nur auf bitcoin.de verkaufen, sich aber nicht als BTC auszahlen lassen.
Nach den 2 Wochen wird diese Limitierung dann aufgehoben.

Unterdessen scheint sich ja herauszustellen, dass die USD Preise auf der KnCMiner Webpage netto Preise ohne Umsatzsteuer sind.
Mit einem Hinweis haben sie ihre Preise aber immer noch nicht versehen.

Die Sache mit dem Group-Buy scheint sich aber wohl eh aufgelöst zu haben.
Zumindest, wenn der Inittiator 50% Vorkasse haben will.

Mein Mac-Mini verbaucht im idle Zustand (bedient nut Ztex Devices) weniger als 8W. Das ist immer noch mehr als so
ein Pi, aber dafür kann man auch mehr mit dem Mac machen (ok, er ist ja auch deutlich teurer).
Wenn man dann noch die USB ASICs über den Mac Mini mit Strom versorgt, spart man sich auch den HUB mit Netzteil.

Ist trotzdem natürlich ein Vergleich, der nicht passt.
