If this is the case see above where I say I can't type "-" while in the RPi (minera) terminal.
Can you input the "-" character into anything?  Does it work in an address bar or text editor?
542  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [PRICE PAUSE] BITMAIN ANTMINER U3 USA GB on: November 04, 2014, 11:39:50 PM
We're currently paused due to the painful drop in BTC price after we opened the GB.  If the price settles in this week I'll recalculate and we'll look at the options.

Cheers.
543  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: November 04, 2014, 09:05:20 PM
How do we do something like a power cycle to reset the O's and X's on the chips through SSH?

For example, sometimes I see X's on the chips and when I reboot through the GUI, it doesn't get corrected. It's only when I manually do a power cycle by powering it off and on from the power button is when all the chips turn back to O's on the status page.

The reason I am asking is because sometimes I get X's and i reboot it from the GUI remotely through a VPN and it doesn't get fixed. I don't want to have to keep going there and manually power cycle it every time because my S4 is located about an hour away and it's a hassle =(.

Any ideas?
I've spent some time thinking this through, and haven't come up with a great solution.  "shutdown -h now" won't clear the x's, the only thing I've found is killing the power at the PSU and bringing it back up, which is difficult to pull off without being in the DC.

Maybe someone know a trick we don't?

There is and will be no news. Our money is gone. Yet another BTC scam.
Agreed.  We got got, let's move on.

In reply to your first question, my answer would be "Sure, but you'd better make sure it's a damned good one."  I don't know the CFM/Static Pressure info on these (I think the labels were removed -- kind of like filing the serial number off a handgun, lol) but I think if you go to Dogie's review of the ASICMiner Tubes, he has some info on the fan THEY use -- and I bet it's similar.

Here's data on the stock fan: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=791827.msg9247490#msg9247490
546  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN‘s Liquid Cooled Miner C1: It is not only cool, but it is cool on: October 29, 2014, 06:20:39 PM
I can't wait to see what people do with these.  I'm sure upgraded cooling systems overclocking will be crazy.

I cant see them run either.  They have a pretty good radiator to begin with.   I'm looking forward to see it with some winter air.

Someone with too much money should get one of these and try it out   Shocked

It is bad ass, to be sure.  And a steal at only 650 bucks!
547  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN B2 20/20 AVAILABLE] BITMAIN ANTMINER U3 USA GB on: October 27, 2014, 01:44:04 PM
Might we be better off waiting a bit and seeing if BTC exchange rate goes up?

I will only do one at 0.18615 BTC per unit price.
Agreed.  I'll pause things and we'll see what BTC does this week.

Cheers.
548  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] ASICMiner Prisma 1.4th/s - 1.47 BTC - Batch 6 on: October 24, 2014, 06:00:39 PM
At one site I have two tubes running "broken down".  What I did is detach the hashing modules from each other and install standoffs on the board side.  They sit flat.

Then I attached one 120mm fan to each one.  They stay at about 40c and 99.5% of expected performance.  Also super quiet as the fans are running off of 5vdc!

The disadvantage is they take up more space this way. Tongue

I'm interested to see the design--can you post a pic if we ask nicely?
549  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN GB1 SOLD OUT, GB2 OPEN 20/20 AVAILABLE] BITMAIN ANTMINER U3 USA GB on: October 24, 2014, 03:43:16 PM
I'm still in for one at this price and rate.
Great, thanks!

I don't know if anyone can help me but i got an email that says its from fedex saying i missed an international package and that i had to click a link to download something to go pick it up. I know these kind of emails are rampent scams but thought the timing was convienient since i was expecting my miners to arrive. any insight would be appreciated. I've emailed sales a few times but never get an answer and i dont have a tracking number. thanks
That's a scam--there is no need to ever download anything to pick up a package.  You should delete that email.
551  Economy / Digital goods / Re: AntMiner S3+ Coupons on: October 24, 2014, 04:23:48 AM
I didn't see this thread before I posted my own--shame on me for not looking!  I've got blocks of S3 coupons available in quantities of 100 each.  Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Cheers.

no problem, amigo. We're trying to give away stuff that no one wants Smiley

That may be the case!  I'll give it a college try before I throw in the towel, though.

553  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN GB1 SOLD OUT, GB2 OPEN 20/20 AVAILABLE] BITMAIN ANTMINER U3 USA GB on: October 23, 2014, 11:52:16 PM
Okay here's a screenshot of the current costs associated with shipping 40 units to the US:

7.446 / 40 = 0.18615 BTC per unit, which comes out to about 66.00 bucks a unit.  I can't hold the bag on the difference, so everyone that's in batch one let me know if you are still on board with the new price.  This is the problem with pulling GBs on hardware priced in USD--I apologize that it went sideways on us!

Let me know if you are still in and we'll put together a payment address.

Cheers.
554  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN GB1 SOLD OUT, GB2 OPEN 20/20 AVAILABLE] BITMAIN ANTMINER U3 USA GB on: October 23, 2014, 11:39:57 PM
Ouch!  Bitcoin prices took a bath today--let me go do the math of 40 units with shipping and see where we stand.  We'll have to adjust prices slightly if we want to order immediately.
555  Economy / Digital goods / Buying S3s by the pallet? I've got coupons in multiple blocks of 100 available. on: October 23, 2014, 11:35:10 PM
Each coupons (worth 0.035 BTC) expires 11-13-2014.  Shoot me a PM and we'll sort something out.

Cheers!
556  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN 5/40 AVAILABLE] BITMAIN ANTMINER U3 USA GB on: October 23, 2014, 03:42:39 PM
Great, I'll take all 5.
Alright!

I'll slide up a payment address this evening and we'll get this order placed.  I'll go ahead and start a second batch for anyone else interested--from here out we'll go in increments of 20.
557  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN -- POLLING] BITMAIN ANTMINER U3 USA GB on: October 23, 2014, 02:35:00 PM
Put me down for 1 please, pm sent.
Gotcha!  This brings us to 5 units left for the first order.
558  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN -- POLLING] BITMAIN ANTMINER U3 USA GB on: October 23, 2014, 02:32:39 PM
Now that the MOQ is 20; are you going to lower the GB to 20?
I'm going to pick up 30 so we'll bring it down to the next increment that BM will ship, 40.  If we can't scratch up that many orders by Sunday the 26th, I'll go ahead and order 20 and fulfill the orders that have been placed so we don't miss out on the first batch!

I'll do the math on shipping this evening, but I presume it will be the same.  I'm not charging a handling fee on this batch, so we're passing the exact manufacture price to everyone here.

Cheers.

Batch 1 has been dropped off at the post office. I hope to have an update on remaining batches soon.
Cheers!

Tracerx

Any intrest in meeting me somewhere in 73013 so we can skip the shipping? Im 73099 zip code so not to far away...

(been doing this as a hobby now for 3-4 months...love the idea and concept of this all, however have not gotten any friends into this, or people from around here...Glad to see a fellow "middle of the states" guy doing this)
Yeah, no problem with that--we can definitely meet IRL and pass on the shipping. Let me know how many you would like!

I've not looked too hard for fellow "bitcoiners" in OK, but I imagine there are a few.  I know for a fact their are local sellers on localbitcoin, so someone's in the know.
