"Mining machine at a distance of one meter, the measured noise about 80dBa."

For reference, I've seen SPTech SP10 measured between 68-76dBa.  Not that I don't trust his meter, but can anyone else verify that the prisma is really that loud?
FTA: "3 noise, the manufacturers due to achieve the purpose of cooling, using up to 4.8a fan violence, including this absolutely superb cooling fan is also a first-class wind noise is also a tucao point, apply a treasure buyers tucao sounds like an airplane taking off and landing to describe though a bit too, but in the arrangement of the mine should give due consideration to this aspect, it is recommended to select the more remote places like industrial areas or suburbs."

Emphasis mine.  They are using a Delta fan which are top-notch, usually loud fans.  I'll go dig up the specs from Delta, but I would assume you need to keep this out of the home office.

Here's the data on the Prisma's fan, the PFC1212DE:

http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/PFC1212DE-F00/603-1164-ND/1850533

66dB, although I found a couple sources on Google that listed a "maximum" limit of 70dB.

I think Flame Sax sums it up nicely--these are serious fans.

is this bad news ? maybe no more prismas for us ?
maybe they just threw the tubes to us to gain trust and now they will keep all the BTC they made from prismas pre-orders.

Also, I see movement from DHL for Batch 1 so hopefully Monday/Tuesday delivery.

I don't think you need to worry at this moment. Maybe later.

Hello friedcat. Stop deleting my posts from September and maybe issue some dividends instead.

Not sure who has authority in this thread but friedcat hasn't been here in a while.

The "hardware" (gmaxwell, MiningBuddy, ckolivas) mods deleted his posts for being off-topic and trolling. Comes as no surprise to me.

show a tracking number.

I don't mine. Ask CrazyGuy or CanaryInTheMine, they are running group buys. I simply take information from one thread and place it in another in order to help people stay informed.

CrazyGuy got his first batch in but didn't get the usb adapters with it.

Which brings up my question. I ordered one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/CP2102-UART-6PIN-Serial-Converter/dp/B00CD264HG/ref=sr_1_11/188-7729491-3617157?ie=UTF8&qid=1413857855&sr=8-11&keywords=uart+to+usb
Of the six pins (3.3V, RST, TXD, RXD, GND & 5V) which will be used?

I got my tracking number from Crazy guy for Batch 1, and there is movement. Crazyguy has a good reputation, and if he says they shipped they did.

It is not safe to post tracking numbers, since people could re-route your order. I also ordered the controller, but not realize it may not come with the power supply, so trying to figure that out now. Maybe I can hook to my EVGA 1300 to a barrel connector. Not sure if I need to worry about the USB adapter, since I will use a controller and not the RPi at first.

I use an adapter from an Orico USB3 powered hub for my controllers.  It works fine.

Being that some of the S4's power supplies started to smoke shortly after mining, I am hoping this one is better. I would not recommend the S4.

What do you guys think about S4 vs this unit?

Good! Any information on their performance? Does everything work as expected or are you missing essential parts. When did you get the tracking number and when did you order? Keep us updated on their performance!

The one thing people are suggestion is to use eight 8 Pin PCI-E cables. Not many power supplies have that many cables. I have EVGA 1300, but I believe it has only 6 cables.

why not simply run 2 less powerful PSUs with 4 pin PCI-E each? could even be cheaper i believe.
