541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 26, 2024, 10:08:52 PM
Gamblers are Rich men because  every gambler needs a staking  power

I want to refute this by stating that not all gamblers are rich. Link here. The benchmark for a rich person is shown in the link shared. This can lay credence to the fact that a lot of persons who gamble cannot boost of such figures or assets which justifies that even though gambling involves placing a stake, a gambler can still be poor.
542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the definition of a Gambler? Do you consider yourself as a Gambler? on: January 26, 2024, 09:51:31 PM
I played some hands it's true and I tested many games for test purposes But I was never affected by the gamble. and I consider I am not a gambler myself.

Let me start by noting that any person who participates in gambling, whether actively or passively is a gambler. To clarify this, every person in a school register is regarded as a student not minding their academic performance or how frequently they attend classes. This is the same with gambling. As long as you stake something to get something you are a gambler even if it is done once in a while.

What do you think about yourself and how do you want to define the word Gambler?

I see a gambler as an investor who has taken up the boldness to engage in a risky adventure that a reward is not guaranteed. And that is, staking something with the hope of getting a higher amount of what was staked. All gamblers are aware that winning is not certain but the positive mindset that something can happen in their favour has triggered them to stake continuously with the hope of winning. Show me a gambler and I will show you a person who is searching for gold without any guarantee that he can get the gold. Based on this, I am a gambler.

543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for fun vs gambling for the financial benefit. on: January 26, 2024, 08:46:02 PM
Do you see gambling as more fun than a means to a financial end?

This is a question that has generated different circles of discussion and it will be an unending debate since different people gamble for different reasons and the reason is dependent on the personal preference of the gambler. No doubt, the majority gamble for the aim of making money but then, there are very few who don't approach gambling with such a mindset and it is only the rich that fall into this category.

The above statement is imperative as it will make us understand that our opinion on this argument has nothing to do with the preference of the gambler. However, I gamble to make money because I don't have the financial prowess to gamble for fun but then, I realized that even though I gamble to make money I still have fun sometimes gambling.

how much can you put into gambling before it removes the fun aspect of gambling out of it?

The fun in gambling is lost as soon as 70% of a gambler's income is lost in gambling. Whether rich or poor, when more than one's earnings is lost in gambling, it can only create the opposite of fun, which is pain. The reason why it is widely acceptable that only the rich can gamble for fun is because the rich have the resources and can lose a fraction of it without having to worry but then, when the rich gamble with so much money which amounts to 70% of his overall wealth and lose, it can no longer be fun. He will cry like the poor.
544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Older men vs Younger boys in gambling, Which enjoys Gambling for fun the more? on: January 26, 2024, 03:09:08 PM
In my submission, older men enjoy gambling for fun the more. The reasons will be considered hereunder;

First, a man who has gambled for years must have gathered experiences over time which helps him have self-control in the game. This will go a long way toward preventing him from involving in gambling-related crimes. For younger boys, it is easy for them to be trapped in the web of gambling and that can manifest in engaging in social vices like stealing and alcoholism.

Secondly, older men can gamble for fun because most of them have the funds to gamble, unlike the younger boys who might still be dependants.

Thirdly, from the age bracket given, most of the older men might have retired from their jobs so gambling becomes a way to ease their stress and remain functional. Younger boys are faced with a lot of challenges that come at that age and adding gambling to it might not be entertaining.
545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: January 26, 2024, 02:50:56 PM
I'd be angry of course and I'd feel like trust is lost between us because I'd for sure give him the money if he wanted to gamble. I'd probably make him work for it, do some chores, and then I'd let him do whatever he wants with it so that when he loses it he'll feel the loss of time and effort he put into getting it. That's how children learn - through experience.

Giving a child money to gamble means encouraging the child to gamble. What happens to the days you don't give him money to gamble? Secondly, the child might not be contented with the money you give to him to gamble since he will always face the urge to gamble more. Sorry to say, no responsible father will give his son money to gamble even if he does all the chores in the world. There are better ways to compensate for a child's effort. If a child stole to gamble it is reasonable to discipline the child first of all and then inquire from the child what's his motivation for gambling.

Maybe he needs money to buy a PlayStation or something he desires. What I will do is to buy the thing for him and tell him never to gamble again. Anyone who desires to gamble must do so with his finances. As far as I am concerned, a dependant has no busy gambling because it will amount to throwing away the money of his principal.
546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They know the truth but they don't want to accept it, publicly on: January 25, 2024, 04:37:28 PM
Gambling, can be fun to an  extent to some persons Especially to those who are rich and wealthy. I have come across rich politicians, business men, and Rich guys who just want to bet on their American football teams, basketball team ,football teams or countries to win not thinking about making profit at mind but just another way of supporting and love for their teams.

You are 100% correct. Most people argue that it is not possible to gamble for fun but I don't support that notion. Just as you have said, people support their team by staking in their team and even after losing they are not bordered about the money lost but angry that their team lost. However, it should be made clear that only the rich can gamble for fun because they have the resources to throw away but this is not so with the poor.
547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: January 25, 2024, 11:07:25 AM
We have been introduced to a lot of things but still, we only choose to do the things we like, which means we also enjoy being in that situation.

Being an adult means being accountable for our actions. By this, no one can be blamed for our actions as we have grown to decipher what suits us or not. This is also related to gambling. People gamble because they want to gamble and not because they are lured to gamble.

Before I started gambling, I had a friend who was deeply into gambling and he has always tried to talk me into gambling because I am a sports lover. Most times when we discuss he throws up gambling discussions and even ask me about my opinion on certain games just to get my analysis and follow my prediction. Sometimes he wins and other times he loses. All his efforts to make me gamble were futile.

I gained an interest in gambling on my own when I felt that I could be making extra cash from it. In summary, nobody should blame another for losing in gambling because he wasn't forced to play under duress. Thus, every gambler should be accountable for his actions.
548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do i handle my first gambling experience on: January 25, 2024, 09:19:21 AM
Hello senior citizens and my fellow newbies gambler's, now I gat a straight forward question for you all.
How do I prepare myself for my first gambling experience?
What are the things I should expect as a first time gambler?
How do we react to my first gambling results be it winning or losing?
Thank you all for your helpful opinions.

First of all, if you haven't started gambling then I will advise you to kill that urge to gamble. But if you cannot then prepare to lose. You have to understand that you will record more loss than winning but pray that your wins can cover up for your losses.

Also, understand that some persons have first-time luck and so if you are lucky enough to win your first bet, be guided that shouldn't trigger you into staking more than your income or staking with an amount you cannot afford to lose.

In addition, guide against becoming an addict gambler, and this you can do by limiting the number of times you gamble in a week.
549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a gambler do you have a potential winning amount limit? on: January 25, 2024, 07:16:13 AM
Different mindsets about gambling allow gamblers to have different approaches to gambling.

I agree with your opinion on the ground that people approach gambling differently with different strategies and different hopes. While some see gambling as a money-making venture, others see it as mainly for fun. However, whether it is for earning money or for fun, all gamblers have targets when gambling.

I will sound a caveat here. Gamblers who gamble for fun are also happy making money from it. This accounts for why every gambler needs to be guided by a limit. The limitation solely depends on the personal idiosyncrasy of the gambler.

I am a gambler and I have a potential winning amount target for myself. When I gamble I only want 50% profit of what I stake. For instance, if I stake with $100, my potential win will always amount to $150. This is so to enable me minimize risk.

Financial strength will differentiate how gamblers approach gambling, but the better their financial condition, the easier it is for them to become responsible gamblers.

Ideally, this should be the case but then there are gamblers with good finance that are irresponsible. In my opinion, any gambler who gambles with more than 60% of his income is irresponsible and this has been the reality of some gamblers.
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does it looks responsible as woman telling husband you gamble? on: January 25, 2024, 02:01:16 AM
I don't know if he will feel comfortable seeing his woman as a gambler, you know him better, if he is capable of handling this then tell him

No matter how he feels, the right thing should be done. Here, the right thing to be done is that she tells her husband that she is into gambling. I don't think there is a need for such privacy in marriage. No husband will pick offense especially when there is no trace of recklessness in the activities of his wife.

Tell him how you are gambling, to make him feel at ease that his woman isn't an addicted gambler, show him that you are indeed a responsible gambler, and he won't need to be worried about the state of your mindset health.

Knowing an addicted gambler is not through word of mouth. A gambler might deny being an addictive gambler whereas his antecedents show otherwise. If the woman is an addictive gambler, her husband will know because she might not have been showing prudence in her finances.

I hope you have a job? If yes then there won't be any reason for him to think that you will be wasting his money on gambling, as afar as you are a responsible married woman there is no cause for alarm.

This will be imperative because it will control any panic from her husband. It will hit differently if she is a dependant and still gambles. Having her finances is a must if she must gamble but then, it should be done responsibly.
551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been able to win a game given to you in the dream? on: January 25, 2024, 01:35:39 AM
A dream is a dream, that's it. Although in some people's dreams, they might find a hint tips on what they should do in reality, it's not the case that mostly happened to everyone.

No doubt, a dream is a dream, and paying deaf ears or blind eyes to the fact that dreams come through will be shying away from reality. The fact that everyone will not experience this doesn't mean it is a fallacy.

I want to bring to our notice the fact that inspiration can come through different means and dream is one of such. So, what we see in our dreams shouldn't be taken for granted. Some stories appear fictional but then it is reality.

I will share an online story I read. A gambler from Kenya who won mega million in the lotto shared that the numbers that gave him the winning were given to him by a madman. A lot of people might see this as a social media stunt but it might have happened.
552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cashout or wait till the end? on: January 25, 2024, 01:20:09 AM
What they want is to obtain the whole amount of money and beat the casinos, and while a few gamblers will be lucky enough to achieve this, we know very well the majority of those who refuse to cash out will lose the bet and regret their decision for a very long time.

Show me such a gambler and I will show you a gambler who is greedy and full of regrets. Not cashing out will afford us two outcomes; a win which is just a 5% probability and a loss which is a 95% probability. This shows that we are likely to lose everything if we do not cash out.

Reasons why cashing out the game is the only reasonable decision will be considered. First, winning is never certain in gambling. Most time we lose. In addition, any investment of $3 which gives a return of $1900 is a good investment. Furthermore, winning $1900 can help the gambler handle certain bills and even have more staking power.

When the above is considered, it becomes crystal clear that the cash-out option is the best in this instance.
553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The need to control your emotions as a football fan. on: January 24, 2024, 08:45:45 PM
As gambler and a football fan, it most appropriate for you to always show a good level of emotional intelligence whenever results doesn't go your way, because that's the spirit of sportsmanship,
The results must not always go your way as a gambler, you will lose some and you will win some.

Discipline is supposed to be imbibed in every sportsperson. There is a need to understand that it's a game and there must be a winner so even when you don't win act disciplined on the ground that you are a human and everyone deserves some level of respect.

No doubt, football is a game of passion and it is difficult to differentiate passion and emotions. However, in my opinion, attaching emotion to sports is not bad but a person should only be guided against showing violence due to emotions.
554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: January 24, 2024, 07:11:05 PM
If you were in this situation, what would you do? Introduce him to sports betting or let him stick to playing slots.

Since he is into gambling already, I will introduce him to sports betting. Otherwise, I don't advocate that people should be taught or introduced to gambling due to the uncertainty that characterizes gambling.

Information is key in sports betting and so it takes a sports enthusiast to make good predictions. Fortunately, the person in question has a passion for football and so introducing him to sports betting means doing him good. I think he will record more wins in sports betting compared to playing slots if he is properly guided.
555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I could have won bigger. on: January 24, 2024, 06:53:58 PM
It is unfortunate that your friend didn't keep his word and give you back your money in time, otherwise you would've won more than just 50$˜.
But it is a lesson for you so next time you will be more ready to gamble with the right amount of money and have the opportunity to win more from your betting. Meanwhile, you shouldn't feel bad because at least you earned that bet which is very impressive.
I see that you have the skills and vision in sport betting and I believe that you are going to face more and better opportunities in the future but just make sure to be ready and have the right amount for betting to not miss such big chances and win bigger.

Well, I don't think he is unfortunate. I am an ardent believer in the saying that everything happens for a reason. Who knows the force behind the win? Who knows if the money he borrowed his friend paved the way for his winning? Maybe the thing your friend borrowed money to handle is so crucial that it would have amounted to an unjust act if it wasn't given. Therefore, there should be no regret for doing the right thing. Be happy that you won and then hope for better days.
556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 24, 2024, 02:45:29 PM
If one gambles every day then it is normal for him to lose.  Because you cannot control yourself if you gamble every day.  You will get addicted to gambling so daily gambling is not desirable for any conscious person.  Op's friend gambled regularly and he couldn't control himself which probably caused him to suffer a lot financially.  Other gamblers who gamble regularly should be aware of this story.  Gambling is a lot of interesting things, even though there is a gap in gambling, it is difficult to control yourself from gambling.  And for those who play every day, it will be almost impossible to save yourself from gambling addiction.

In my opinion, there is no problem with gambling everyday. It all depends on the individual and his source of income. There are income variations among people and the wealthier a person the relatively higher his stakes will be.

A question will suffice here. What's the difference between a person who gambles $10 daily and a person who gambles $100 once a week? Mathematically, $10 x 7 will amount to $70 weekly, and then you have someone who gambles $100 weekly. One gambles once but is spending more on gambling than the person who gambles daily.

Flowing from the above analysis, I don't think there is any evil with gambling daily. What is important is setting a limit based on your income and sticking to it. Losing in gambling is a must and only winning bred surprise. All gamblers know that losing is a must and only winning sounds surprising. Hence, daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly gambling doesn't guarantee anything. All gambler need a budget to minimize his losses and that solely depends on his earnings.
557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: While placing bet what comes your mind on: January 24, 2024, 01:22:56 PM
Yesterday was trying to place bet and during the process something in me keeps telling me to increase your wager do you know if you would hit something you never won before.

This feeling is the feeling of greed. Sadly, it is this feeling that accounts for 70% of why we lose in gambling. Each time I accumulate games, this is exactly my thought but then, 60% of the times I have controlled this thought, I have recorded winning.

I will share my experience here. I remember a time I predicted a game from home and then took the game to the betting shop to stake, on getting to the shop, I told the betting attendant to hold that I wanted to add another game to boost the winning which I did and the last game I added ruined the bet ticket.

It is normal for a gambler to have such a feeling but the ability to control the feeling is what differentiates an experienced gambler from an inexperienced one. It is very easy for an inexperienced gambler to be guided by this thoughts than it is for an experienced gambler.
558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a social or casual good guesser make better gambling prediction carrier? on: January 24, 2024, 11:33:56 AM
Funny enough my dear gamblers, something artrageous just happened within i and colleagues at work where we engaged on a "guessing and challenging game" daring ourselves in such a critical and lucky guesses.
E.G, *Guess where I am from.
*How many kids do you think I have?
 * How many hours/minutes do you think I drives from my house to work?
 * What high institution do you think I attended?
 * What is my 2nd childs shoe size?

These is a scenero of such game. Behold dear gamblers, someone in our midsts was able to make an exact 10 right guesses out of this challenge meanwhile others could even make count of a single right guess

This opted one of us to say to the champion that.... Oh wow, man, you are professional guesser. Maybe someone like you could be a professional gambling predictional.

I am concerned to ask, can such a person build a gambling carrier with such an excellent guessing prohibition? Or he should trash it all and believe that gambling predictions remains a game of luck?

Gambling is so difficult that a professional guesser will run into financial ruins if he depends on his guessing skills to make predictions. No doubt, instincts can direct us to making good predictions and winning but most of the times we still don't win following instinct.

I have always likened gambling to the saying "Jesus is coming soon" in that you just don't know when He will come and so it is with gambling, you don't know when you will win so guessing will make you lose more.

Sadly, even with the level of information available to experts it is still not an easy adventure to predict accurately not to talk about making prediction dependent on guessing without prior knowledge of what the game is about. You will lose because gambling is not about telling the "shoe size of a kid".
559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you pay attention on other people bet and it amount, and does it affect you? on: January 24, 2024, 11:18:35 AM
Thats why when we see others hitting it big with big bets, there's this natural urge to join the club, right? It's like you want to be part of the winning crew. But we should remember that everyone's luck in gambling is kind of their own thing. It's cool to enjoy the game but don't let the pressure of big bets mess with your comfort or budget. Just do your thing and have fun without stressing about keeping up with others.

When we consider the adage that says "seeing is believing" then we would have a firm understanding of why winnings from people can trigger others to participate in gambling. There are a lot of people who don't believe that people are making it from gambling because stories about how people ruin their lives or commit suicide abound everywhere in the social space. But then, it takes a big win from a friend or someone they know to change such thoughts and begin gambling.

This shouldn't generate surprises because humans generally desire good things and whatever guarantees a good living humans will always give it a try. But then, gambling cannot guarantee anyone a good living because it is characterized by luck. Only luck can guarantee a gambler win. I have heard a story of a boy who won big from gambling on his first attempt and that changed his life. On the other hand, some people have gambled for years without a good measurable success.

Thus, I will advocate that people shouldn't gamble because someone else won big from the game. After all, as we are built differently and reason differently our grace differs. Hence, if we must gamble it should be for the fun of it and not because people are becoming rich from it. That might not be our case.
560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been able to win a game given to you in the dream? on: January 24, 2024, 10:50:04 AM
So what experience have you entered in your dream about gambling?
Have you ever won a game from a dream?

I haven't dreamed about any game but I have won from a game given to me by a friend who saw the game in his dream. A friend of mine called me last year and gave me a game to play in sports betting. He told me to stake the game with a reasonable amount. I became inquisitive on the ground that this was my friend who always advised me on how to guide my stake to prevent losing so much in gambling now he is the one telling me to take a reasonable amount above my normal staking power.

I became eager to know how he got the game and he told me that he saw the game in his dream. Initially, I laughed and doubted the possibility of such a game playing because odd for the game was big. Due to persuasion from him, I played the game on the reasoning that even if I lost, it wouldn't be the first time losing in gambling and it would be better if I lost than regret not playing the game. Surprisingly, the game played as predicted. Since then, I have been disturbing my friend to dream but I know it doesn't happen always.
