Resorting to fat-shaming now? Are we jealous of his riches?

I'm pretty sure the dude is a talented coder and created megaupload himself

Kim Dotcom says he has the answer to bitcoin’s ‘civil war’ and will soon give it to the world.

I'm getting very exited about Kim's ''scaling'' solution what he calls; Bitcache for his Megaupload 2.0.

He also thinks that the price wil rocket to $2000 in 2017, which i think he is right even without his groundbreaking innovation.

Fucking lol... this guy is straight from a movie.

So he has his own scaling solution huh? That's cool, I was wondering how he hopes to include micro transactions in btc for all file transfers

BASED KIM DOT COM!

And what if Antpool and some other large miners decide to go with this amateur fork chain because they're pissed at core?

but yeah, fuck these guys

546  Economy / Speculation / Re: There is an epic shakeout coming this year before the giga-spike. on: August 04, 2016, 09:22:42 PM
Spoiler Alert: There was the shakeout, but no rally

I gave up on the rally... it's probably not happening for another few years

somthing fun to read -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=796276.msg15810284#msg15810284

skip to the bottom for the meat.

Damn you got hella bearish all the sudden.

I don't think we will go down to below $500. The price overracted because of BFX and this doesn't feel nearly as bad as gox. Everyone's been expecting worst case scenarios but rumors are that BFX will be resuming business soon. Depending on how well they handle customer losses things could turn around really fast. And if this block-size/HF drama finds some middle ground, like Core confirms that 2mb HF + segwit is still in motion with an updated timeline AND Winklevii + COIN ETF gets the green light we could be looking at greatness this year

Do you have more info on BTCFork, and their reddit page? First I'm hearing of this.
548  Economy / Speculation / Re: the price will recover just like it did from the mtgox debacle over 2 years ago on: August 04, 2016, 02:34:06 AM
From a selfish point of view....thank fuck that Finex are going to screw over their customers whose accounts were drained and not socialise the losses. I have already been burned on Kraken a fortnight ago, (no fkn socialised losses there), I could really do without it happening again on Bitfinex (I had only USD on Finex. No Bitcoin).

I had already long decided to remove all funds from BTC and keep the fuck away from this corrupt cesspit of a market after my Kraken account was emptied.....I imagine after this massive Bitfinex theft, that there will be many more Bitcoin market participants who are thinking just like me. Could be the beginning of the end for Bitcoin imo. What might save Bitcoin is the emergence of highly liquid, fully regulated, and fully accountable exchanges...but until then, this is the Wild West, and everyone is getting shot up and getting weary of it.

July 2016 – Kraken
Bitcoin exchange Kraken has been targeted by hackers, where some user accounts have been compromised and funds stolen. One user reported losing about $285 on the exchange from their account being hacked.

$250? you should be wiping ur ass with $250 if ur playing with btc Cheesy

It's good seeing the legendaries chime in on all of this.  I'm with OP.  Markets overreact like some piss-poor method actor, and if I had any more money I would be f-ing all in.  This is a great buying opportunity IMO.

Also, thanks for posting that chart.  I haven't actually looked at a bitcoin chart in many months.

Lmao!

I think you missed OP's message. He's trying to show that it will take years to recover like it did after gox.

And I completely disagree, gox was a different beast and felt a lot worse than this. This will bounce back soon and I'm still expecting this year to be bullish overall

Trust me I am a true legend
550  Economy / Speculation / Re: New ATH by July 2017 on: August 03, 2016, 08:17:18 PM
Everyone that sold under $500 forgot the halving just happened. They're in for some regret these coming months of a halved production rate. So far, it seems the worst-case scenario of a cascading hashrate reduction, fueled by blocks taking longer and longer to mine (because of slow difficulty adjustment) did not and will not happen. I ran the numbers through my arbitrary-line-drawer and totes-legit-math-machine. And it told me to expect bitcoin's price to be above $1200 July 13th 2017.

Be ready. Use cold storage. Stay away from HYIPs.

Good luck, everyone!

Too late... need to be rich NOW. Not a year from NOW, motherf*ker

A useful poll.

Bitcointalkers are roughly three times more likely to pick the first choice over all the others.

Only when the choices are the same
553  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 03, 2016, 03:57:48 PM
so what is latest news about finex, is it hacked, coins stolen or is it just a story?

are they lying. or really 120K coins are gone

120K coins are gone and given to charity

555  Economy / Speculation / Re: There is an epic shakeout coming this year before the giga-spike. on: August 03, 2016, 04:40:18 AM
This will not be pretty.

Especially when the shakeout comes but the giga-spike doesn't.

Bitcoin is probably going to $8000 - $25,000 a coin.  But not quite yet.

When? I'm ready
556  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 03, 2016, 04:24:33 AM
Meh, whatever, I just bought some more. BTC didn't get hacked, BFX did, these are the perfect dip buying scenarios because you know it's gonna be temporary. It may end up being a longer setback than I want it to be, but as far as I'm concerned those 120K coins are off this market. Every law enforcement agency and bitcoin exchange is gonna be tracking those funds. It will be hard and stupid to cash out the bitfinex btc anytime soon.

On the bright side no one's talking about core's delay on segwit and the 2mb block increase... this is good for bitcoin!
