Perhaps it's a sign of spending too much time here, but I'm starting to be able to identify NLC pretty quickly now. Each new sock tries to have something unique initially, but speech patterns and themes keep recurring.

I would not be surprised if 120k btc got dumped over the next 5 days or so, and price was attracted to lower support. I will definitely buy at ⁴⁴⁴.
Lost a tiny sliver on bfx myself. Much to my pleasure, I removed almost all of my btc from bfx on friday. No, I did not have any inside info. But monkey was saying it was a bad time to lever: volatility squeeze
So what is the new go-to platform, if you want to lever on btc, short or long?

Surely couldn't be because nearly every new user on these esteemed fora is a barely literate sig ad shekel farmer, hmm? Bucketshops/gambling sites with 20-100X leverage? Chinese exchanges with VPN? Interesting to see most of the volume moving to GDAX, stamp, and itbit... no shorts allowed tho, sorry guise.

Damn you got hella bearish all the sudden. I don't think we will go down to below $500. The price overracted because of BFX and this doesn't feel nearly as bad as gox. Everyone's been expecting worst case scenarios but rumors are that BFX will be resuming business soon. Depending on how well they handle customer losses things could turn around really fast. And if this block-size/HF drama finds some middle ground, like Core confirms that 2mb HF + segwit is still in motion with an updated timeline AND Winklevii + COIN ETF gets the green light we could be looking at greatness this year Do you have more info on BTCFork, and their reddit page? First I'm hearing of this.

"rumors are that BFX will be resuming business soon" "things could turn around really fast" ya i imagine thats whats driving the mofo buying now, but, i'd be surprised to not see any kind of dumpage, regardless of any news from bitfinex. IMO market will want to re-test the bottom, as soon as it feel like its found a local top. ( which i think is here 580 ) https://www.reddit.com/r/btcfork/its all talk but the guys over at bitco.in have been talking about this for a long time. here's a on going convo with them https://bitco.in/forum/threads/wall-observer.27/page-116

Nice synopsis of recent events I don't see a dip below 500 (again) at least right now I don't, yesterday it seemed possible - the 420.00 I think a rebound soon back to kinda where we were before the heist, and those miners got to eat too sooner or later lol

IMO market will want to re-test the bottom, as soon as it feel like its found a local top. ( which i think is here 580 ) It’s despicable that they’re saying… “some of our customers have suffered losses”. Like the customers themselves were responsible. Bitfinex held the keys, and an instructive key to bitgo, apparently. Their negligence and/or insecure practices allowed for at least two of those to be compromised. Thus, as they are the custodian of multiple asset types… they are responsible for equitably distributing those losses among users of the exchange. A bankruptcy trustee would probably oversee the whole thing. (At least that’s what I expect the argument to be in court, and I suspect this thing is going to court before withdrawals commence.) The reinvigorated interest in ideological forks, even forks that are likely to start as small minorities… is because people are starting to see they are viable and even competitive to some degree. ETC/ETH was the informative experience it was expected to be, and people are getting ideas.

Furthermore, in order to compute losses for relevant parties, settlement of all financed positions will occur in all accounts. Margin positions for all pairs will be settled and closed using the following prices their closing shop.

That's why I wish I could buy right now. 195k bitcoins are now gone from the exchange. They will likely not be spent or cashed out for years due to so many eyes on those coins. I can see the address where my bitcoins are sitting.
So...all of those bitcoin traders from BitFinex will need to get more bitcoins with smaller supply.
As far as BitGo...from what I could tell on reddit, there were two setups. People who verified their identities and had a BitGo setup. And the rest who did not go through verification and had some other setup. I did not do any of that verification.
I thought that the number missing was 120k btc? Ahh yes. No idea where I got 195k. So... Let me get this straight... A solution for you is to keep a ledger of all the addresses that the money goes by... till the world becomes a police state and you can get your money back. Hmmm?? I mean... there could be created a fast black list by the international community and the coins that where stolen to be flagged and the person that would have accepted them for a transaction, they would decline payment from that compromised wallet... hmmm???
