Sling is not my coin.

Crave's Surge Protector and Urge Markets is all new code and is not based on anything other than what comes out of my mind Wink   There are a ton of shitclones of Crave that have popped up all over the place attempting to do the masternode thing, but they will never approach the capabilities of Crave because their devs do not have the aptitude to provide continuous innovation.

Well, that answers that !! Cheesy

People who think they're the same dev...  I would say no because the way they do things (with code) doesn't look the same.

You might ask, maybe they would be doing that on purpose?
But what would be the real motive..  and why go through all of that.. doesn't make much sense.

" I would say no because the way they do things (with code) doesn't look the same."

For example?

Well for one,  one is using github and the other is using bitbucket

Another thing,  one just compiled a mac wallet and the other didn't.. why wouldn't the same person do both?

Another thing, one dev just posted that the market is based of another coin (the interface) and the other dev doesn't seem to say its based off anything like that.

Want me to list more?

ICM is developing Urge protector, multisig escrow and is one of the kind, the other ones market is bitmarket fork.

Sling dev said it's actually all new code but certain parts such as flow system is based on bitmarket because the organization of it is already done.

What is ICM basing it off of?  Or is it all new code ?

Yes, thank you..   in my opinion,  things just don't add up to say its the same dev...   maybe a same "team of devs" or something but,  just seems like too much of separate projects.

Any Linux freaks around?

What is the proper way in (debian) Linux to get the above (start the wallet, enable staking) all done automatically at boot time? Who can help me with that? Thanks!

Well, most people know I'm into linux Smiley   and the answer is short so I don't think it will clog up.

Simplest of all Upstart scripts is starting a daemon (put it in /etc/init/mydaemon.conf):

Code:
exec /path/to/binary

Thats ALL you need. That makes Upstart run the daemon when you do start mydaemon.

OK, you want it to start automatically? Usually, starting after dbus is a logical choice, so lets do that:

Code:
start on started dbus
stop on stopping dbus
exec /path/to/binary

This simple script starts your daemon whenever dbus has started and will stop it just before dbus stops.

Hopefully it works on OS X and not just windows. Still waiting on the OS X wallet, someone needs to claim that bounty

If I can get access to a mac I would do it,  I've compiled stuff on mac before.

Can't wait for the multi-sig escrow and markets to come !

Seems like a lot of "fluff" in this thread..

does sling support TOR only?

Any plans for I2P integration?

It does help to have other markets become available .. in case something happens to one or the other.

For those interested in using the I2P feature,  this procedure most likely will help in setting it up.
Quote and thank you to other opensource coins' documentations:

Quote
Setting up your client to use I2P

Your traffic will be open for anyone to inspect if you run the Crave client over clearnet. If you would like to hide the fact that you are using Crave, as well as the physical location from where your Crave traffic originates, you should set up your wallet to connect only to the I2P darknet.

To do this, download and install the I2P router(see below). After starting the router, you will need to enable the SAM application bridge. In the I2P web interface (http://127.0.0.1:7657/configclients), click on the box to automatically run the application bridge at startup, and then click on "start". By default, the SAM application bridge listens to 127.0.0.1 on port 7656. If you need to change this behavior, this can be done in one of three ways:

  •    From the preferences menu in the Crave graphical interface, click on I2P, and then modify the IP number and port for the SAM application bridge. For the changes to take effect, restart the application.
  •    From the command line, start the Crave daemon (usually named craved) by specifying the following options: -samhost=<ip or host name> and -samport=<port>. For more options, use the command craved --help.
  •    Edit the variable clientApp.1.args in the file clients.config that is located in your local I2P folder and then restart I2P.

Once this is done, start the Crave client, open the application preferences, click on the I2P menu, and then click on the button "use I2P only". Close the application and relaunch it. At this point, all your traffic will be encrypted and pass through the I2P network.

Please note that it will take several minutes to make connections to the I2P network when starting I2P for the first time.

Where to download I2P

The official I2P release can be downloaded here: https://geti2p.net/en/download.

The Abscond bundle is an easy to install software package with all you need to connect to I2P and let you use the most common features. It can be downloaded here: https://hideme.today/dev/.

Here is just a short part of the guide because I keep having people messaging me about how to set up the folders and .bat files for multiple nodes.

I hope this illustrates it a bit better:

Definition of concern troll:

“In an argument, a concern troll is someone who is on one side of the discussion, but pretends to be a supporter of the other side with “concerns”. The idea behind this is that your opponents will take your arguments more seriously if they think you’re an ally."

prospect claims to hold crave, in an effort to establish credibility within a community, but yet has "concerns" about little minor things he tries to embellish, make bigger & point out.

Yes, that is concern trolling.

I do not claim, i hold crave, period. But dont claim shit that arent true about development.

Funny how you also don't claim about the many other features that ARE TRUE.

Still smells like troll to me.

Urge market around the corner  Smiley, only few more days left. BLUR end burning period will be reached in aprox 5 days/Block 60200. I2P was implemented because of fud and anonymity questioning and was never part of roadmap. i can only say one thing:
"life is good"  Grin

Stop arguing like little kids for candies  Grin there is enough for all of us.

Great. Good answer, at least you can meet claims with respect and facts instead of childish comments Smiley

who was claiming anyway that its craves first? ah emilioman? uhm nvm.. he is just too excited  Grin

Well excited and afraid of loosing some of his investments, thats how people react to facts usually. But lets try keeping an honest approach to development, which people deserves creds for it and not.

...

Good thoughtful questions...

ICM:

1) What's your response to people saying Crave has no
innovation and is just a copy paste thrown together?

- The only issue I see now with Crave is the annonymous part.

...

no innovations? Are you serious?
yesterday was released a wallet with native i2p network. Several coins are trying it for months without success.
And all other features as first mobile app with stake + masternodes, blur, first pos + masternodes coin?

Actually.. the current I2P implementations that are out there are not that hard to port. I ported I2P to syscoin in december 2014. Its based in GIVs work and anoncoins implementation of it which have been there for over a year.

Well,  its the first coin with good distribution to have implemented it,  along with pos masternodes, darkpoold, blur / asset exchange...  again other coins with these features are either premined, ico or just terrible distribution.  (cough syscoin)

Bullshit, anoncoin had a premine of 0.0014%. Also, they were the first to implement in-wallet i2p. Dont give cred for tech that does not belong to crave. I hold crave, but seriosly, stop with the ridiculous claims. Period.

First, I don't believe that was all that was premined.
Second,
anoncoin has an android wallet?  no.
anoncoin has asset exchange? no.
anoncoin has pos masternode? no.
anoncoin has a decentralized market planned? no.

Stop trying to take away credit, where credit is due.
Your pseudo-fud attempt is annoying and doesn't hold much weight.

Instructions to compile on a Mac,  to anyone who has a Mac and could attempt it, curious if it works.

First, you might need autotools:
http://jsdelfino.blogspot.com/2012/08/autoconf-and-automake-on-mac-os-x.html

Second, get secp256k1 and compile that:
https://github.com/bitcoin/secp256k1
libsecp256k1 is built using autotools:

$ ./autogen.sh
$ ./configure
$ make
$ ./tests
$ sudo make install
$ ldconfig  ## not sure if that is or needed in Mac OSX

Lastly, attempt to compile crave-qt
Mac OS X

Download and install the Qt Mac OS X SDK. It is recommended to also install Apple's Xcode with UNIX tools.
    Download and install MacPorts.
Execute the following commands in a terminal to get the dependencies:

Code:
sudo port selfupdate
sudo port install boost db48 miniupnpc

Open the .pro file in Qt Creator and build as normal (cmd-B)
